Hey everyone it’s Ross and Preston welcome back we haven’t seen you guys in a while um we got a new launch season upon us so we’re going to do some reviews this season uh we’re going to try to get the shop Vlogs going back again and uh just kind of try to revive

Our YouTube channel we just haven’t had a whole lot of time lately um so let’s go ahead and get on with the review so today we have the Ping blueprint s uh it’s a cavity back iron from ping it’s forged we’re going to compare it against

The i230 uh they both look kind of pretty similar uh the main difference is the blueprint is going to be forged and the i230 isn’t so uh Preston is a little sick he can’t swing right now so I’m going to be doing the review today I

Know you guys haven’t seen me in a while so hopefully I don’t let you down uh we’re going to we’re going to start off with the i230 and then we’ll move into the blueprint s and then we’ll do the blueprint T in another video so please make sure you like And subscribe and

Let’s go ahead and get started all right boys and girls we’re going to start off with the i230 I’m going to hit what do you think five or 10 shots here yeah for sure we kind of we’ll kind of talk over the club and maybe some data as we go

Here so here’s first shot sounded pretty solid yep felt pretty good just left the face open a little bit not bad ball though good Miss I will take that so first impressions looking down at it everybody should have been able to see the i230 by now um we all

Know it kind of reminds us of the i210 that was really really popular on tour and played played for a long time after it was discontinued so that’s the one thing I noticed about this it’s got a good look look to it that a pretty decent sound strike

Little bit of a mess it’s going left all right little bit of a miss the M can play with that zero path and zero face angle I know right where’d that come from I I could have swore that was going to go left that just tells you how

Few balls I’ve been hitting lately so there’s a pretty significant M hit so uh we’ll say you know 150 carry on a m hit my spin was still up there still got really good height uh pull pull up the impact location see where I hit it so a

Little low heel and for it to still not spin like that and still go is I mean that’s really good that’s pretty good cool let me hit a couple more here quite an impressive Little Miss there more ball speed yeah yeah not bad they stay touch open but good shot it’s

Pretty consistent doesn’t really matter where I’m hitting it oh by the way we’ve got the uh Dynamic gold 120 s300 in both of these clips sounded pretty good there so that was a pretty flush shot we’ll call it a 168 carry spin came down one thing I’ve noticed is this

Thing is really for forgiving yeah I haven’t hit this iron in a long time little Scoopy still not bad though I mean one thing I’m noticing is it’s pretty consistent for especially for a cast iron yeah I mean it doesn’t matter where I’ve hit it yeah it’s right

There around the average of 163 let’s hit one more with this see if I can put a good swing on it yeah 163 super consistent all right let’s go ahead and switch to the uh yeah here’s the blueprint s blueprint s all right ping blueprint s uh same shaft Dynamic gold 120

S300 uh let’s see how it compares to the 230 oo washed it that was smoked well all right so that was as flush as I could hit that uh I don’t think I could hit it any better than that yeah that was nice yeah so first impressions First

Impressions looking down at it looks like a skinnier version of the 230 was a little bit less offset to me yeah yeah yeah quite a bit skinnier Top Line heel toe pretty similar in length uh hazzle shape similar uh on the 230 the grooves are really really close

Together on the blueprint s they’re spaced a little bit further apart nice so that that really close Groove look I’ve never been able to get comfortable with I’m the same way I like that kind of a little bit more spaced out look yeah for sure and we’ll show some b-roll

Footage of this but um yeah it’s just a Slimmer less offset version of the 23 and Forge is what it looks like to me nice let’s hit another one here pretty good again I’d say [Laughter] so so feel wise phenomenal really good yeah feels like a forged iron feels really good real

Soft um it sounds softer maybe not as soft as like a mirira um or like a kioi something super super super soft but it’s still a lot less clicker and a lot softer than that 230 this actually feels really good feels and looks really good that’s going left

Little bit of a pull hey but for a pull though only going four yards further four yards further that’s pretty good three yards further so you and I both played the s56 back in the day how does this look and feel compared to that little bit chunkier version of the s56

Okay so I would say the head looks more like the s55 but just a little bit thicker okay not much I I’d have to look at a s55 or an s56 it’s been so long since I’ve seen one but that was one of my favorite irons ever was the s56

Absolutely I played those and just completely worm out I still own them they’re in my garage in case you guys don’t know Preston does not get rid of golf equipment Preston’s going to be the guy that when he’s 60 he’s going to have 60 staff bags in his garage just full of equipment

Absolutely all right let’s hit another one okay finally missed one so lost a considerable amount of distance on a Miss hit looks like the spin jumped on you a little bit more here too yep so maybe not quite as forgiving is the 230 yeah still didn’t feel terrible though another Miss

Hit Sam Maybe touch Healy yep little low heel okay well good news didn’t spin didn’t jump on that one for you no spin staying really consistent but it’s definitely not as forgiving as the 230 yeah this is going to be your low single digit handicapper somebody that’s a good consistent ball

Striker there we go there’s another good one oh yeah so when you hit the middle of the face very consistent I mean you you see yeah minus those two misses what do you have a five five yard spread between long and short it’s pretty good so really really really good yeah

Getting good get height on and everything launching well I feel like I’m swinging a little bit better let me grab this 230 and hit it again let’s see what happens here there’s a good strike there we go I’m swinging better so very similar distance the 230

Is just going to be more forgiving so it seems like this new blueprint s has tailored a little bit more towards your single digit handicap little bit better player definitely versus maybe some who plays the 230 would be maybe around 8 to 10 yeah 8 to 12 handicap or somewhere around there

Somebody that’s still can hit the middle of the face but just not as quite as consistently let me hit one more with this blueprint this thing feels good yeah Little Miss pretty good Miss though yeah not as penalizing that one that one 155 I probably just hit that really bad yeah

Cool well let’s kind of go over the we’ll pull up the table and we’ll go over some numbers here all right guys let’s go over the tables and uh the dispersion chart here so on the right we have the dispersion chart uh both look very similar the Orange is going to be

The blueprint s and the white is going to be the i230 um the blueprint looks like it may have a little bit tighter dispersion that might have something to do with how I was hitting the ball this morning uh we’re going to do some more testing and

Then we’ll we’ll comment in the comment section below yeah hey this was consistent with what we saw in the video or not um on the on the left here we’ve got your tables so it looks like I was swinging the blueprint a couple miles an hour slower but it averaged a couple

Yards further because it had a little bit higher ball speed um that was due to smash Factor uh I probably hit I definitely hit the middle of the face more consistently with the blueprint for some reason um if you look at carry your four yards difference in average carry

Uh spin rate is about 300 RPM higher with the blueprint s uh the blueprint s is also flying a little bit higher and Landing a little bit steeper so for the guys that want to be able to hit it a little bit higher get it to land a

Little bit steeper and be able to attack those tuck pins the blueprint is trining in that direction um to help you kind of attack that pen get it to stop and not have it bounce long so uh if you guys have any questions on the blueprint s if
