Draining and refilling oil and changing oil filter on a Toyota Yaris AKA Vitz AKA Belta 2nd gen (XP90, 2005–2013), AKA Daihatsu Charade (2011–13). Featured is a 2006 Vitz with the 1.3 L engine. Not a hard job to do every 10,000 km.
You will need:
* Oil, full synthetic 5W-30 or other viscosity as spec’ed by Toyota in your locale. Amazon US: | UK:

* Jack & axle stands, ramps, or some other safe way of getting under the car. Do not use the vehicle’s spare wheel jack.
* 14 mm hex socket with bar and ideally a torque wrench for tightening.
* Oil filter wrench if it won’t come off by hand, try Amazon US: | UK:
* Brake clean / degreaser and rags.
* Oil pan to drain old oil.
* Container in which to dispose of old oil.
* Funnel.
