What’s going on Washington fans and welcome to bleach report I am Josh Taylor AKA Josh Taylor FB on social media follow me if you haven’t already and on this episode guys I’m going to talk about some trading scenarios that I’ve kind of thought about I did some

Research over the last few days it just kind of came up with some ideas obviously there’s some I don’t want to say rumors going around but there’s some ideas some thoughts that have come up with a couple players in Washington that could be traded then also some options

Outside of Washington that maybe Adam Peters is going to try to bring in you know we listened to that Adam Peters press conference and he said this roster needs some work and it absolutely does but he also said that there’s a couple cornerstones on this team and I don’t

Disagree with them I think we have about three or four cornerstones on this team then outside of that I’m honestly everybody else can go and everybody else is replaceable um now I’ll talk about two of those Cornerstone pieces that have been talked about that could be

Traded um and once again this isn’t like media saying oh there’s rumors that so and so is going to be gone nothing like this um if this is just a just trade scenarios to think about these are just trade ideas that could happen over the next few months um especially you know

With with the draft and everything coming up it seems like all the biggest trades happen around February March beginning of April when you talk about trading up to number one or something like that there’s different scenarios that I’m going to tell youall about um but these are just

Some ideas and and there’s some that I’m for and some that I I’m completely against and I think need to be shut down before it’s even talked about these are all out there like you know like I said when I did some research on possible trade um scenarios this offseason you

See a lot of like Devonte Adams and stuff like that I’m not saying that Washington absolutely won’t be in the mix for someone like Devonte Adams but in my opinion I just don’t see it happening I don’t see him coming here I think he would go somewhere like the

Chiefs or somewhere like that before you know that that trade even happens um Stefan Diggs is another one that’s brought up I don’t see that happening as well so these are some that are actually kind of likely um that some have a good chance like I said these are just some

Ideas that I came up with so to start it out obviously I’m going to do the one that’s been talked about the last few weeks or so and that is John Allen I hate to say it because I love John Allen to death um but you know end of the

Season it seemed like the last few weeks that frustration has been there and then of course came out the whole you know interview he did uh the sports radio with the junkies or whoever it was um and he just said like I don’t want to be

Part of a rebuild and people ran with it saying like oh he doesn’t want to be here and you know you know what maybe he just he is sick of losing um but I think someone like him like looks forward to what’s coming with Adam Peters and the

Changes that are taking place but you know I love John Allen I grew up you know I was watching him in Virginia um in high school uh when he was playing over in Woodbridge and then he went to Alabama my favorite team of course watched his whole career at Alabama and

Then my team drafts him so I’ve been a John Allen fan since he’s been in high school honestly um and the thing with with John Allen is he’s been around just winning you know at Alabama you win national championships you win the SEC Championship every year um when he was

There I mean it was just greatness and then you go to Washington where it’s the complete opposite sadly where you’re losing losing games you’re not expected to win much you know you have these losing Seasons all the off the- field stuff the quarterback Carousel the defense is dead last in the League last

Year it’s just you do get sick of that and you know he is I you know some people disagree with this but he is a leader on that defense I think he is the leader on defense you know he’s a super mature guy you know I’ve got of talked

To him a couple times you know just about the team and then just you know kind of getting to know him as a person his thought process and stuff like that and I think John Allen is one of those cornerstones that Adam Peters talks

About I I think this is a guy that you know when he sits down and talks to him John Allen’s you know super professional regardless of what you think about his press conferences when he’s pissed off losing I’d be the same way I would much

Rather him be mad after a loss and be like yeah you know same thing we just got to watch the tape and see what happened guys I don’t know I don’t know what happened no like I’m glad that he was mad I want someone that’s going to

Be fired up and I want some someone that’s like you know Del Rio gets fired and you can just tell like it’s not just John Allen it’s a lot of the players everyone was checked out the second half of the Season especially everyone was checked out everyone knew like what was

Happening everyone knew that was the end we knew it was the end the guys in the building they absolutely knew that it was the end um and I think John Allen is a piece that you want to build around um you know we paid him and we paid draon

Pay I think both those guys in the middle of the line that’s fine I’m not worried about the money nothing like that um now if you do trade John Allen um it would have to be for like a high second or a middle second at least you’re not trading him for third like

The only way you even entertain trading John Allen honestly is if it is a high second or some team offers you like a low first or something um the teams you know I I would look for maybe the the Texans um but they’re second you know they’re still the playoffs so that

Second round pick isn’t you know they need some help in the interior D line though um I’d look to the Browns Maybe maybe the Ravens interior dline um they could always use a John Allen like somewhere like that A Team te all three teams in the

Playoffs um and but but once again it’s not like we’re going to be shopping John Allen I don’t see that I I think once Adam Peters sits down with John Allen gets to know him I think he’s gonna be like look these are one of the guys that

I want on my defense next year and I know like I said once again a lot of fans are going to disagree with that but that’s my take on it um I I don’t think you trade John Allen um I think that’d be silly once again like

It would have to be something crazy high to even entertain that and then you got to replace them you do have drawn Payne you have some depth Mattis has been heard a lot um you just don’t really know if that depth can be starter material you’re going from John Allen to

Like I said mathys who’s been hurt a good bit or you draft somebody or you sign someone a free agency we got a lot of money but if it’s me I’m not trading John Allen um and another player on Washington that I’m not trading Scary Terry Terry mclen has been

Brought up people have talked about it do we trade Terry mccl he needs to go somewhere he can win he’s getting old and he is getting old you know I he’s in his high 20s that 30 Mark is where you’re pretty much and know to a lot of

People that’s like the The Benchmark in the NFL that’s when you’re officially old when you hit 30 which is sad because I’m 30 um that that that’s like the the outlier that 30 Mark right there is when you’re like uh yeah you’re officially old in the NFL now we’re not going to

Pay you any big contracts your production’s going to fall off but Terry McLaren is still Terry mclen and I know I I was critical of Terry this year because he had some he had more drops than he usually does but then you see jacobe Brett come out on the field and

The production picks right back up with tan mclen um the thing with with tan mclen is he just needs I don’t think he is a he’s not an El leite wide receiver one and that’s okay like he’s not a Justin Jefferson he’s not a Jamar Chase he’s

Not a Tyreek Hill that’s okay I think he can be a really I think he can be a lowend wide receiver one or just a really really good Elite wide receiver too like that’s that’s my honest opinion on T mcen when he came out of the draft

He was old compared to most wide receivers um he but he is he’s fast and he’s still good he still catches a lot of things he he needs to work with his hands a little bit because he body catches a lot of things but that’s okay Terry’s still Terry Terry’s still

Getting them thousand yards Seasons with 20,000 quarterbacks since he’s been in the league that’s just Terry story um I think Terry MCL is still a very good football player I think Terry needs some help I could absolutely see Curtis Samuel um not coming back this season

He’s a free agent he can probably get a decent sized bag from a team that’s going to need a wide receiver like the Kansas City Chiefs or the Panthers would probably overpay him like crazy um if the Bengals lose T Higgins I would like to see Curtis Samuel on the Bengals um

This’s really this just a lot of good fits for him I just don’t think Washington’s going to be the spot I think Adam Peters really wants to revamp this offense I think you know if we do get an offensive minded guy like Ben Johnson as head coach he’s gonna want to

Kind of just lay out his blueprint and do what he wants to um I think Taran mclen can be like his am manr St Brown um on this offense but then you need some other little Heavy Hitters you need some speed guys that can get deep we

Need Jan doson to come back to life he had a really good rookie season and then kind of fell off this season but was that on Sam was that on the offense or was that on Jan we don’t know a little bit of everything honestly uh there’s a

Lot of plays where I seen wide receivers running into each other and running routes and stuff like that that just made no sense um but I don’t think you trade T mcen I think he is one of those Cornerstone pieces as well on the team I think you need him moving forward that

Leader once again just having that that mentality in the locker room having that leadership in the locker room alone um and then addition to the production with a thousand yards season with four in a row now um that that’s what you want and it’s really hard to replace a guy like

Taran mclen now does he have like two or three years left like in his you know not saying his NFL career but in like the peak I think he has about two solid years left of like his Peak production years and then you could probably start

To see a decline after about two three years um because like I said he came into the the league old I think he came when he was drafted it was like almost like 20 like he’s he’s super old um let look up Teran mco’s age right now by the

Way um but it’s just if you traded him what does it look like probably it’s got to be a second but once again now you’re stuck trying to get another wide receiver and I think we can all agree that we already do need another wide

Receiver um to help him out yeah he’s 28 right now he turned 28 in November um like I said that 30 mark is really where you start to become old in the NFL but as of right now I’m not trading Tam mcen like we paid him let him leave him here

Till the end of that contract and you can revisit things I think this is a guy who’s going to want to be you know a part of something special I think you need players like him in the locker room when you were trying to build you know that winning culture that successful um

And you know Adam Peters talked about what he wants to see on the field he’s like I want guys who are aggressive I want guys who are physical and I think Terry McClaren is one of the physical guys on the team you see these contested catches you see him taking some bad hits

Across the middle T mcor just lays it all out on the line that’s the kind of guys you want to build around so I think you know if you’re talking about a Terry trade you should shut it down um between John Allen and Terry I don’t see either

Of them going if one of them were to be moved it would probably be John Allen and like I said it would have to be for a high second uh Washington doesn’t really have that many guys that are you know that could be traded could you trade Sam how maybe but there’s no

Reason unless some team gave you some crazy offer for him but there’s no reason like absolutely no reason to trade like samow is going to be here next season whether we drafted quarterback or not I saw some people saying like maybe you trade uh Sam like

Why you’re not going to get anything for him honestly um I mean if a team’s offering you like a third or something and shoot yeah go ahead draft your quarterback and get something good but that’s not gonna happen no team’s gonna offer that for Sam H um so just keep on

The team but I don’t I I really don’t see Washington um getting rid of any of these two guys but like outside of that Washington maybe Don payt uh but Washington just doesn’t really have that many trade assets on the team this year and that tells you a lot about the

Roster but then also just a lot of free agents this year there’s a lot of free agents uh a lot of guys that Adam Peters is gon to sit down and evaluate and really think about um now there’s one that is obvious and fans have talked

About it but I don’t think it’s getting talked about enough I think fans really shut down the idea and it’s but it’s a possibility it still needs to be talked about and you know Adam Peters said when I come there like we’re gonna the next thing is GNA be

Hiring the head coach and then they’re going to evaluate the quarterback position like together they’re going to build their coaching staff out they’re going to sit down with the Personnel Department The Scouting Department they’re going to evaluate everything but the most important position we know as a Washington fans is the quarterback

Position they’re going to evaluate and whether you want to draft Caleb Williams maybe you move up to one maybe you stay at two and get Drake May or you get um Jaden Daniels or whoever there’s some people that want to trade back and and get somebody in like the middle first

That’s not me um but there are people but I just want to throw out an idea and like I said it’s not like the craziest idea but Justin Fields is likely going to be traded a lot of people around the league are still you know pretty sold

That the Bears are going to get k Caleb Williams at one now this is the tough part uh Ryan poles has to really separate the emotional side of this the situation and the business side of this because his job is on the line but do you risk losing your team over this

Decision DJ Moore Jaylen Johnson a lot of guys your best players in that locker room have come out and said I want Justin Fields as my quarterback next season I want them like the whole locker room it’s not just like a hey guys you know it’s up to

The front office that’s not my job that’s not what I they’re saying you make just like we want Justin Fields DJ Moore said it multiple times DJ Moore has said it um on on podcast with am man Ros BR Brothers he said it like publicly in the locker room like when your best

Players are saying we want Justin fields on this team next year you you have to you have to think of the business side of it though you have to worry about paying Justin Fields you have to worry about do you actually pass up on the number one overall press

Pro quarterback prospect the last two years Caleb Williams would have gone number one last year and he’s gonna go number one this year and it just seems like people are overthinking like is Caleb really that good just because he’s been the number one overall Prospect for two years now people are just like

They’re exhausted about it but he is the clear number one quarterback in this in this draft class like it’s not close to me um so do you risk that do do you look back at Ryan BS and say like look I listened to the team instead of the

Business side of things we kept Justin Fields we’re still not winning you know maybe they trade back and get Justin Fields I mean keep Justin fields and get somebody else Marvin Harrison Jr give them some help you know build you know stock stock some picks up and just build

A good team but if it doesn’t work out and Caleb Williams balls out and he turns into the next best thing you’re the team that passed on Caleb Williams when he was right there in your lap you traded back you kept Justin Fields you paid him and he still just didn’t show

You that High inside can you win a Super Bowl with Justin Fields I don’t have the answer to that that’s something Ryan poles has to think about can you go to the playoffs can you make a playoff run with Justin Fields maybe we’re about to see if CJ

Strad can do it we’re about to see if Jordan love can do it can they make this run in in the NF C can can shroud run to the AFC beat the the Ravens and get to the Super Bowl as a rookie quarterback I don’t know that’s something that Ryan PS

Has to think about though can Justin Fields do that can he take this team there it looked like they were a Super Bowl team against us against Washington we’re we’re the getright team uh for the rest of the league you got some problems play Washington Justin Fields after that

He had a little injury but when he came back he was balling out that end of the season so PS is going to evaluate what Justin Fields looks like but if they decide to move on from Justin fields which like I said a lot of a lot of

People around the league still think they are um a lot of people say you know you have to reset the money market for your quarterback situation and then you you draft the number one overall piit you draft Gale Williams um so they would they would moved I think they firmly

Would move Justin Fields I don’t think you keep him there as a backup especially like I said with the room I’m stuff you you don’t want that quarterback controversy first off you don’t want that drama you don’t want that every single week you just gotta

Cut the cut the cord if Justin Fields is not gonna be your guy and he draft Caleb Williams you just got to cut it send him somewhere else and I think they can get a a good a good return on Justin Fields so what does Justin fields in Washington

Look like now think about this like I said they take Kay Williams number one they say what can we get for Justin fields um Albert Breer and a couple other people maybe was Jeremy Fowler have come out and said that you know for Justin Fields you could probably expect like a

Two um maybe a three and maybe two three kind of package so Washington has two second round picks they’re super high by the way so if a team like Atlanta was to try a trade for him our second round pick is better than Atlanta um if a team like you know know

The the Patriots were to not you know miss out on their guy and they wanted him I mean there’s the Raiders the the Broncos there’s all these teams right there in the middle Washington’s above all of them but it’s not just even just getting just and Fields imagine this we’re at

Two we can move back one spot with the Patriots and it really just depends on the order of things if you already trade for Justin Fields um the the Patriots are like obviously they’re not about to take a quarterback we could take Marvin Harrison Jr at number two we could take

Olu fashanu at two we can there’s a lot of things you can do with that but obviously those like your top two picks so imagine getting Marvin Harrison Jr at number two overall or say like I said a team right you know behind the the Patriots a team

That missed out on Justin Fields wants to trade up and get Drake May whether it’s the the the Falcons the Raiders Broncos whoever I don’t want to trade back that far but like I said maybe like the Falcons something like that um the Giants whatever I don’t care but if you

Can get a hall of picks to trade back just a few spots and still land Ola fanu or something like that malague neighbors whoever you want to get then cool get an Elite Talent get that Elite Talent that’s fine um and then like I said you’re giving up a second for Justin

Fields is this the flashiest thing to do but no it’s definitely a possibility in my opinion I think you know I’d much rather trade up for Caleb Williams or stay at two and get Drake may but at the end of the day if Chicago wants Caleb Williams they’re going to just take them

They’re not gonna trade if they want Caleb Williams they’re gonna take him and honestly I think we’ll know before the draft if you’re gonna trade Justin Fields you’re gonna do so before the draft Chicago is not calling teams on draft night saying like hey guys we’re

About to take Caleb Williams do you want Justin Fields we’re trading them right now that’s not how they’re going to do things they’re not going to wait till the last second they’re not going to wait when they’re on the clock to trade Justin Fields this is going to happen

Beginning of March like what happened with the Bears when they got DJ Moore and that you know and the Panthers traded up to the number one overall pick that’s what it’s gonna happen around that time they’re not going to go into Draft line with Justin fields and if

They do that means they’re keeping them by the way um and that they’re going to try to trade out of one probably either to Washington or the Patriots and that’s it or they’re going to take Marvin Harrison Jr number one overall none of those teams want to

Trade up um they’re going to show their hand before draft night that’s the thing about it so could Washington trade a second for Justin Fields stay at two and get Marvin Harrison Jr or trade back a few spots and get like maybe still Marvin Harrison Jr depends how far you

Go back or Malik neighbors or Ola fanu Joe Alon one of those guys an elite left tackle or an elite wide receiver to help you know Justin Fields your new quarterback I think it’s a possibility it’s enticing then you have to worry about the money aspect side of it though

But what’s the upside of Justin Fields can he take you where you want to be possibly I think he’s really starting to develop and you see around the league once again Jordan love didn’t look pretty at first but after a while Jordan love now looks like a franchise

Quarterback for the Packers he’s dealing these last few weeks in big situations Jordan loves balling out and we saw over the last few weeks of the Season that Justin Fields has that upside to him this is what we’ve been waiting for this is that top to 15 pick in Justin Fields

What do you go like 10 overall I think um this is this is what you’ve been waiting to see out of Justin Fields so it is definitely an intriguing situation um but Washington does have the number two pick so maybe you get a younger 21y old Drake May who has more

Of a passing upside than Justin Fields does he might just need a little bit of time but at the same time you can trade for Justin Fields if you want to go that route see how that goes and still build a team around him like I said you still

Have that first round pick whether you trade back or you stay at two and um just get Marvin Harrison Jr shoot Marvin Harrison Jr Terry McClaren Jan doson Justin Fields sounds pretty good to me then you build offensive line throw money on the defense and free agency that’s great we have another

Second round pick you can get uh Troy fanu Jordan Morgan um uh Patrick Paul left tackle any any of those linemen this is a really deep offensive line draft so I know I’ve talked about this one for a little while but there’s just so much to it the how much it would cost

To get Justin Fields what you still have left over and then also what you can still do with that first pick now is this my top option probably not like I said I’m I’m still going Caleb Williams Drake may like that’s the dream for me those are the two trade up for kale

Williams let the DC guy come back home um or stay at two don’t do anything and just take Drake May and and and ride that’s it but Adam Peters is going to be exploring all options and I think we should do the same now outside of Justin

Fields there’s two kind of out of the box ones I was thinking about I kind of wanted to think outside the box the first one here is Evan Neil you’re like huh okay New York Giants right tackle Evan Neil Roll Tide by the way went to

Alabama why is Evan Neil on here things have not gone well for Evan Neil with the Giants and I could absolutely see the Giants moving on from Evan Neil they need to get that offensive line right their offensive line has been way worse than Washington’s last year it was bad

It was really bad um and they theyve spend draft Capital with Evan Neil Andrew Thomas um John Michael schmidtz now the center over this past season but they they still need they still need some help um he’s still super young by the way uh

He was a top 10 pick I think he went like what seventh um I think Evan Neil just needs a change of scenery I think a lot of a lot of players get in that situation you can just tell he was frustrated last year things just weren’t working out he had a

Couple nagging injuries but just think about the upside now what do you even trade for Evan Neil to be honest with you I have no idea like I said he was a first round pick he was a high pick I think it was seventh overall I can’t

Remember the exact draft over but I think it was seventh overall um because that’s was the same year they got Kon Tibido um what do you even trade for Evan Neil because he has had these little injuries it’s not nothing crazy but he is still super young and you have

To imagine I mean he was he was one of the best tackle prospects over the last few seasons I’d be fine trading uh a third for Evan Neil I think it’s absolutely worth a third as second three start to get to the you the uh I don’t know stage

Um just because he hasn’t looked good but I I I think it change the scenery at that right Tackle Spot come over here to Washington once again I’m not sure what that trade package looks like would I trade a second for Evan Neil o I don’t know just because this draft class is

Really good but you’re just banking on the upside that Evan Neil can get it right I mean he’s a huge human being he’s a beast I mean that Alabama he was one of the most dominant lineman we’ve had in a long time Evan Neil was a stud

At Alabama like to me he was like the unanimous uh first tackle on the draft like easily I think Evan Neil something’s going on with him to not be performing well he didn’t just forget how to play football so I think Evan Neil to Washington is something you have

To consider get him out of New York change his scenery does it pan out if it does it’s a huge upside once again super young you still got a lot left in the tank I mean God he hasn’t been in the league that long if it works out it’s a really good

Deal or maybe he just you know flunks like I said you know maybe that second that second round pick we’re taking uh someone on defense maybe we’re going another direction we can use a third for Evan Neil do I think the Giants would trade a third for him I

Don’t know um but this is just me thinking I don’t know if I’d trade a second for him at the same time I wouldn’t be too mad about it if it’s like the second next year or something maybe um but just thinking about it like he like I said

Just build just give him a chance get him out of New York see what he can do the upside is huge is there a possibility that he just doesn’t recover and he just looks bad sure he needs to work on that foot speed a little bit I

Know he’s a big guy but it’s just it just hasn’t been pretty in New York so take a chance on Evan Neil God knows we need that that offensive line um it’s really hard to just rebuild an entire offensive line in one off season unless you’re the Texans they threw money they

Threw draft picks they went crazy and it it worked out they dealt with a lot of injuries too uh but maybe Wy moves over to left guard um and but if things don’t work out with Evan Neil you have a backup plan a right tackle um I’m not moving

Cosby back to right tackle because he’s a dominant Right Guard right now um but maybe Wy is kind of like your your insurance backup policy for Evan Neil if it doesn’t work out at right tackle or Trent Scott or someone or maybe you just you draft someone late whatever but take

A chance on Evan Neil the upsides there if you win you win big if you lose you just got a swall loss that’s the league though not everyone you draft is gonna hit so trade a pick for a guy that um was once a first round pick and could

Absolutely bounce back uh and this last one is kind of out there too but there’s there’s a there’s a science to the Ben and I’ve seen this more times than I’ve liked um Joey Bosa you’re probably thinking what joey bza yes Joey Bosa couple things one Adam Peters comes from

The 49ers and I know you’re like ah the Bosa Bros so his brother Nick Bosa is at the 49ers dominant now it’s Joey Bosa Nick Bosa absolutely not um at one point he was yes um the thing here though is let start with this the the Chargers are in

A really bad salary cap position they have uh what’s his name Tulie uh from USC Bal out this year on the edge for him he’s the future uh for him there but then they have Bosa and khil Mack and like I said then they have Kanan Allen Mike Williams they have a

Lot of sour cap situations to figure out next season then it’s not pretty um now with Bosa the thing is the last two seasons he’s had some injuries he only played um in let’s see I think he’s he’s missed some games last few seasons he’s only played in uh nine games this season

And only five last year now this season he still had six and a half sacks in in nine games last year only two and a half sacks in five games just dealing with injuries but the year before that 10 and a half sacks played in every single game so the thing

Is first off he’s getting a little bit second off he’s had these injuries but third he’s expensive so if you can but the thing if you can get Joey Bosa he’s 28 If he if you trade for him first off you have to rework his contract and he’s

Got to be able to understand that he’s in a really bad situation like I said with the Chargers with their salary cap they’re going to take a hit but getting rid of Bosa I want to say saves them about 15 million dollar next year according spot track according to spot

Track they have a 20204 out um they do have a dead cap of 22 mil if they get rid of them um but in a pre 61 trade they would still save about 14 and half Mill next season which they need every penny they can get so if you can

Trade a third for Joey Boza maybe a third and a Fifth Third this year and a fifth next year for Joey Boza and I know people like no don’t do that I love the free agent class I like Brian Burns I like AJ fanessa I like Bryce huffle

Um who else is out there Josh Allen if you throw a bag at Josh Allen that’s fine with me I love those guys but those no guarantees you just never know I think that’s the route Adam Peters goes I think he goes the free agent route I
