Feel I Us Gra La Ch [Applause] [Applause] and Now ladies and gentlemen it’s a pleasure to introduce the officials for this event representing the international skating Union at the ISU European figure skating championships 2024 bras Lithuania please welcome the ISU representative la also representing the ISU please welcome the referee of the event Ken Howard the panel of

Judges judge number one El Kat judge number two Andrea simova judge number three aita a judge number four Anna Kanto judge number five Kina Hendrickson judge number six zna Ki judge number seven marjerie hilco judge number eight Alice B judge number nine s pleas technical panel pleas technical controller Emily

Bow the technical specialist s h l Stay my and hold itm gold Noory but see the [Applause] welcome along to the zalgo arena here in wonderful cus Lithuania it’s day three of the European figure skating championships and what a championships we’re having it is just fantastic the skating’s been brilliant the atmosphere amazing and the Lithuanian people have really contributed to a magnificent event my name is Chris Howard delighted

To have your company as we embark on the men’s free skating the second Medals of these championships decided tonight it’s going to be a Humdinger of an evening It’s a Wonderful venue Here and I hope you get a taste of uh the atmosphere it is quite incredible we had the dance this afternoon the uh Rhythm dance and uh the roof came off the building when the lithuanians took to the ice just Brilliant amazing scenes in The Concourse behind me so much support for the skaters from uh all around Europe and the locals getting right behind it Too it doesn’t matter what nation you’re from you can’t help but smile it really is a joy to be here so that’s it the scene is set we’ve got 24 men battling it out in four groups this evening the men’s free a mouthwatering prospect if you didn’t see

The short program the situation is that the defending Champion Adam seim far is in the lead and I’ve got to say I saw him in practice today and he looked brilliant well trained really focused and uh he has to be the red hot favorite just behind him it’s Lucas

Bitki for Switzerland he was third last year now if he was to win here it would be just amazing Switzerland haven’t won the European title since 1947 When Hans gersher won it in Davos I was thinking that stepan lambelle probably won it because he was twice world champion but uh he

Didn’t in third place it’s the Estonian Alexander cevo and he was Sensational Estonia never won a medal at the European Championship so wouldn’t that be amazing if he can stay there just behind him is the Italian Gabriela Fran Jani mattio Rizzo in the mix as well

Runner up last year he’s uh skating with an injury though he’s got a hip injury which ruled him out of Italian Nationals and as I understand it he’s going to have surgery after the European Championship so he’s struggling a little bit here a bit below par and we wish him

Well so all that coming up a little bit later on the 24 men split into four groups they go in reverse order within their groups so they are drawn within the groups if that makes sense here we go first group out it’s Evan schurco for the Ukraine who will be first to

Go David luten Brain for Monaco will be second fed chovan for for Armenia lying in 21st place he’ll Escape third Alexander venko for Hungary he’s in 23r Marcio xandr for Austria will be fifth to go and Ling in 20th Place sixth tocate Vladimir LiveTV from Aan so six minute warmup for the men now confirmation there of how they go there is iatco of Ukraine what a moment for competed in a couple events this year he finished eighth in the NEPA Memorial in Bratislava he was eighth in espu in the Grand Prix there as well didn’t compete

At Europeans last year did in 2022 where he finished in 12th Place really do wish him every success here in this men’s free he’ll be followed by the man from Monaco David luten BR born in N trains in obersdorf but here very much representing Monaco 22nd he was in the

European championships last year this the sixth time he’s competed at Europeans comes here on the back of a win in losan in the Swiss ice skating open So he’ll be followed by The Armenian who is competing in the Europeans for the first time what a moment for him Fedor chitty Pac hovan he uh he was born in St Petersburg in Russia and that’s in fact where he trains but he’s here representing Armenia 20 years

Old he’s done pretty well this season he’s not got an awful lot of experience but he he did finished fourth in the bosserous cup in is Istanbul Alexander lenko for Hungary will be the man that follows him he was crowned national champion this year last year would you believe he was uh first

In seniors and juniors in Hungary this the second time he’s competed at the European championships he was 24th in ESP last year bronze medalist in the v Volvo open in Ria as well so just making a transition from Junior to senior really he’d be followed by Moro xron

From Austria this uh I think it’s the fifth time he’s competed at Europe and he was really really close to getting into the top 10 last year finished in an 11th Place fourth in the Golden Spin but he’s had a couple of Victories this year he won in the

Tayside trophy in Dundee and the Dena for staviski Cup in sopia so he’s had a pretty good season Golden Spin he was in fourth place as well and that’s uh that’s a tough competition Challenger Series event also Cy was fifth that’s another Challenger Series competition so he’s showing his metal well good Stuff and last AG go it be Vladimir liet for a didn’t compete in Europeans last year he did complete in the world championships though where he finished in 11th place and he’s only done a couple of events this season one Grand Prix the first one of the series Skate America in

Allen Texas he was fifth there and uh he won the Bosphorus cup inan so we’ got just over a minute to go there’s the man that uh will be leading us off as we get into the last minute he’s not going to want to do too much just

Save the legs save the energy for the program he got Off to the Races early use the warm up Well tell you off camera Ico the Ukrainian just did a a super triple axle probably be his last element on on the practice he doesn’t need to do anymore now that’s the scene we had a pretty good crowd in here for the ice dance earlier and uh I don’t think I’ve I’ve

Seen it before but they made an announcement at the end of the ice Dance Competition that anybody that had a ticket could stay in for the men’s free of charge that does make me think that the tickets have not gone too well for the men’s events which is uh very very

Unusual that’s for sure fa scenes backstage the warm up area being shown to the crowd as well it really is a fabulous venue and the stage management of the event is second to none to be honest so here we go warm-up over for the first group first six men ready to

Go number 24 split into four groups there’ll be a nice resurface after the second group on the ice representing Ukraine Ian sh so to get us underway in the men’s free skate at these European figure skating championships here in countless Lithuania man lying in 19th Place after

Not a bad short program it’s even schmatko for Ukraine Perfect start that’s his triple Axle now he’s got another one lined up here in Combination well in fact he does it in sequence with a double axle on the End oh this is impressive Stuff but it’s a dream start for Ivan [Applause] That’s a great combination triple flip Oiler triple [Applause] Salo And there’s the flip on its own so here we are and I can vaguely and strangely trace your outline I can remember what it felt like to hold you I can remember what it was like to they blinding into your [Applause] eyes [Applause] [Applause] I [Applause] well I don’t know about you but I’ve got a lump in my [Applause] throat that for me was something way way more than about figure [Applause] skating what a brilliant brilliant performance that was I’ve never seen him better he did not put a foot wrong throughout that free [Applause]

Program just Sensational well if that doesn’t move you nothing will this guy born in ke and he had to move to Germany and then to France in the spring of 2022 due to the war and and he’s moved back he’s moved back to Ukraine and training there not sure where But uh you know he’s got a story to Tell and that’s a performance from the Heart a performance of passion and a performance with Meaning Goodness knows what stories he can tell but in a way he’s uh he’s portrayed a story There well to me this the score is irrelevant really in my book he’s a hero thank you very much ianco quite [Applause] brilliant [Applause] thank the scores Please so it’s 14070 his score not quite as good as he got in the nepan memorial trophy but never less outand Even’s total competition score is 21065 [Applause] points on the eyes from Monaco David L fr so now lying in 24th Place just scraped into the free but he’s

Here from Monaco it’s David luten Brain Sound of Silence by Disturbed his music great Choice my friend I’ve come to talk with you again Vision Creep just a lovely start perfect Triple Loop Oh down on the [Applause] axle I was looking for a triple flip there he doubled out didn’t get a great Spot turn my color to the cold and down when my eyes Are well he salvaged something out of that he was looking for a trip looks at the beginning of the combination just a double but he got the triple toe on the End yeah gets it this time beautiful triple HS Yeah big comment ation in the second half triple CCO triple Toe the three of the jump passes you can do in the second half will get you an extra 10% oh just pop the axle I teach you I You oh Well I think he’ll be a little disappointed with that a program full of highs and lows just one of two too many lows in there I think miss a trick on that axle should have made it a sequence D [Applause] bra really pleasing skater to watch and when

He gets the timing right his jumping technique is wonderful to watch Michael H making his way to the door could Be love the choice of Music hating sound of disturbed I’ve come to talk with you again there he is going for that triple axle you can see landed forward so that’s going to be a dow grade so basically he’s going to get the base value of a double axle and then negative

Grade of execution on that so at the end of the day he’s going to get a what around a point and a half and then a one point deduction for the four not very Much lovely outside edge going into the LS the triple Luts on its Own broken leg position in the sit sit side position this is a feature of his really Good I turn my color to the cold and So good Sim smiling there so his season’s best is uh what 11049 got that in the Finlandia trophy but in the ice challenge cup what couple of years ago he got 132 of the it’s going to be 11089 so that is a Seas best for

Him so things on the up and up but he wants to try and get back to that around 130 points if he possibly can you see the one point deduction for the fo there Michael have plenty to say I’m sure he always does score is 17595 which is the new Season’s best

He’s currently in second place on the eyes representing Armenia Fed so next to go lying in 21st placees debut at the European championships all about experience for him this is Fedor chitty Pac hovan for Armenia Yeah the first quad that we’ve seen so far this evening and it was a crap cracker Quto well that is a huge combination too triple axle Oiler triple Salo Oh a hand down on the triple axle made the rotation Though no problem with the triple Le Show be the of Yeah well done he had to work hard there triple flip triple toe made it Count and there’s the flip on its own a beautiful running Edge coming out of that well in fact it was a sequence he was looking for double axle on the end just a SE Single triple LS last of the [Applause] jumps [Applause] [Applause] His [Applause] No [Laughter] That’s a shame just lost a little bit of control on that spin at the end there but or inor I think he can be really really pleased with that Armenia yeah on more than one occasion he had to work very very hard for those Landings didn’t give an inch did he and

That’s so important any young skaters watching this it’s uh it’s such a skill to be able to get yourself out of trouble and land the bad jumps so I would say that the the best skaters have this uncanny knack of Landing bad jumps and one of the best

In the business at that was yuzuru hanu could go up sideways and still find the right foot and this guy’s got the same sort of skill that quad to at the beginning a little bit shorten rotation that technical panel will definitely review it lovely elevation on that axle nothing

Wrong with that and he gets the Oiler or an old money a half Loop and there’s the triple CCO does he get this round yeah he does well done fed and there you can see a hand down on the axle on that one so we lost a couple

Of points nearly a couple of points in the on the grade of execution on that element i’ like to have a look at that looks again at the end if we get a chance this was a big mintion and uh he made that first jump yeah there’s that

Looks so I’ve got him a quarter short and I think he’s going to get an edge call yeah on my book that didn’t stay on an outside edge that left foot on the look just looking down they G him a warning so he’s got away a little bit with

That but uh yeah it was an under rotation so so a few errors sneaking into the program but boy oh boy he showed us he’s a fighter all right so 128 93 it is a season’s best he’s in second place in fact it’s a season’s best by a long long way and a

Personal best can’t knock that great job fed and the team his total competition score is 19744 which is the new Season’s best is currently in second place next escate from Hungary Alexander bleno so lying in 23rd Place the 19yearold from Hungary this is Alexander venko his music for the free Iron Sky oh that was gorgeous what a start fabulous sequence triple axle double axle IND for the city but The just couldn’t maintain control at the end of that one that was triple axle number two us with but No yeah it was a nice running Edge between those two jumps he got the sneaky little change of edge in but couldn’t get three turns on the second part double uh triple flip double Toe Those who can hear me I say do not despair yeah just all starting to fall away a little bit toe slipped on the entry to the will pass and they die and the power they took from the people will return to the people and so long as they die Liberty

Will never perish don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men with machine L and machine HS you are machines you are not men you the people have the power to make this free and beautiful to make this life a wonderful Adventure choose the Power well he got the triple CCO at the end there just the double looks at the beginning sence Over [Applause] over [Applause] [Applause] Oh [Applause] [Applause] when he’s a real talent just felt he didn’t keep his Focus all the way through that 4 minute free program Hungary just through the Midway section there things just fell apart technically a little bit but he does have a wonderful jumping technique there’s no doubt about that

That triple axle at the beginning of the program was Sensational in the sequence with a double axle Right you feel if you could get his personality to shine through and keep his Focus all the way through the program see there’s a clear indication of how good the man Is love the way he keeps the hips right underneath him that really does generate an extra little bit of height a shame on the second one there he couldn’t quite control it the flip and toe triple flip double Toe we find God and relig the Fain us with salvation but no one no no great shots of the footwork you the rise No Love No z v sat alongside Him 11868 it is third place out of the four that we’ve had so far I think 11 third overall as well yes 18376 it is third place for Alexander is 18376 which is a new Season’s best he’s currently in third place next ISC representing Austria Maro

Sandron so we have two to go in this opening group and lying in 22nd Place the the Austrian adario for strings for morito Xandr Well he got that triple salco out of nowhere hardly any speed at All whoa did he work hard there you can see his weight tipping outside the circle but he found the right foot that’s his second triple axle Yeah much more quality on the Flip And they the the Yeah that’s a great combination triple triple to we’re into the second half now so he’ll get the extra 10% on that one we F ourselves and the enemy foring us and he keeps it going that’s his secet quence triple looks double axle and there’s the Loop if I have my breath on you I’m to die to show you I’ll Pro You he’ll take it very very well done morito [Applause] a good little mix with the music there last 40 seconds or so of Nemesis just uh building up the pace getting the Cadence going over those closing few seconds Mao sandron Austria yeah super appreciation for a very commendable

Performance some of those Landings he didn’t make look pretty but goodness me he didn’t let anything go did he and that is a sign of really good Training yeah you get the sense don’t you how physically demanding it is and particularly when you’ve got to work that hard for the landing it it does take it out of you when everything’s right the timing’s on and you’re over the right foot things are much

Easier it was the dream star for him triple axle Oiler triple Salo and there you can see his weights outside the circle boy did he fight he didn’t give an inch on that I love it and there should have been a double axle just uh to be honest a little bit sloppy

On the way into that just a single and he’s going to get negative goe on that as well so just over half a point on that element but uh that seemed to shake things up for him and from there on in he kept his Focus here’s the

Lutes and that triple looks triple toe does he make the toe loop round yeah he does no problem not a great running Edge on the the way out so he’s going to suffer a little Bit some really good choreography and I love the way the program built towards the End yeah you can be proud of that made remember mtio last year he was in 11th place at the end of the day this performance would have done him no harm at all but he’s he is down in 22nd after the short 137.84 second on the threee and I

Think that’s going to have him second overall just over a couple of hundred points 20291 yeah second it is so still ianco for the Ukraine out in front Curr from a Vladimir n so he’s lying in 20th Place the 22y old represent ing aaban this is Vladimir linetv bit of chosi for

Him from The Nutcracker and it’s got scheduled a huge first minute or So whoa little bit of a lean on that but he got through it that was the quad South think it might have been short it was definitely be Reviewed much better on that that was the quad toe he was looking for a triple toe on the end just a Double now can he make it a hatrick of Quartz yes he can and that was the best one of the [Applause] [Applause] Bunch Yeah huge combination to start the second half triple axle Oiler Triple S and he keeps it going he’s short in rotation on the Lutz though didn’t quite get the elevation double axle on the End the lights of the world will come down in circles and don’t know what’s see stra and I O what a lean he had on that that was his jump last jump past the triple Axle my eyes and sing You [Applause] just running out of time slightly at the end there there boy oh boy is this guy got some [Applause] [Applause] energy yeah you really gave that his best shot I’ve got a sneaky feeling that technical score is going to go down a little bit once the technical panel have reviewed some of those elements without a doubt I think some of them were a little short on rotation be good to see them

Again he’s got some guts hasn’t he he hang on in there he was fighting to get over the right foot on more than one occasion but I got to say I do love it when a skater goes out there and then they’re a little bit off but fight and don’t let

Anything go and that’s exactly what this man did so here’s how it all started the quad s yeah you can see that’s short get an under rotation for that here’s the toe Loop well they’ve given it a queue I wouldn’t have done that that didn’t look bad to Me and that one much much better that was definitely the best of the bunch the quad toe on its own and normally you’d have a bit of a break wouldn’t you after three quads in a Triple Loop but not this guy he kept it going pushed all the way triple axle Oiler Triple S and they’re down on that triple axle slightly under rotated on that so he’s going to lose on the base value and the grade of Execution obviously he’s going to have one point deduction for the fall got to work on the components a little bit more so difficult for these guys to get the balance right because technically the programs are so demanding you’ve got to do these big jumps but you’ve also got to incorporate the Transitions and

The the presentation get the program to relate to the music it’s there somewhere so 14094 would give him the lead not quite 13949 it is second place and he’ll be second Overall get him close to 210 points I think 20921 second it is for Vladimir lvet after the first so there it is exciting first group that’s for sure and this is the situation after the first six men have competed we’re a quarter of the way through the men’s

Free group number two out onto the ice Now so to get us out the way the man who finished second in German Nationals Nikita starostin he’s followed by Gabrielle ferson from Sweden lying in 17th Place Yori renko for the Czech Republic lying in 13th he’ll be third to go then lying in 18th from Finland marvl Samu Vladimir samuelov for Poland

Lying 16th will be fifth to go and last to go from Spain lying in 15th Place Thomas Loren guano sabate so they are Off to the Races electrifying Pace out there there’s confirmation of how they go in this second group as we take a look at Nikita starostin it’s the third time he’s

Competed at the European championships was 13th couple of years ago 15th last year remember he goes into this in 14th Place so he’s been pretty consistent with his placings let’s see if he can get himself closer to the top 10 competed in one Grand Prix this

Season the Grand Prix of ESP poo where he finished in seventh place from Germany Nikita he’ll be followed by the Swedish national champion it’s Gabrielle ferson who will be second to go he’s debuting at the European championships and uh he had a pretty good showing in ruic in the Nordic open where

He finished in second place that’s his best result this this season comes here on the back of finishing seventh in the wara cup he’ll be followed by the Czech National Champion lying in 13th Place Gori renko trains in Irvine California with Michael brazina choreographed by Adam

So this is the second time he’s competed at the Europeans was 26th last year so good achievement for him to be in this second group and in the Free and for Finland The Finnish National Champion lying in eight 18th Place this first time in the European championships for him big moment he competed in finished in 12 Place 12th of the 12 that participated seventh in the Golden Spin best results was in Tava when he finished in fourth place he

Coached by his mother from Finland [Applause] Ma he’ll be followed by the three-time Polish national champion Vladimir sov Vladimir did really really well in the Volvo open Cup in R finished at the top of the podium there was fifth in the Golden Spin Golden Spin of course one of

The Challenger Series events as is the buddh best trophy where he finished in sixth place so he’s had a pretty good season so far but this a different ball game he’s 17th last year buying and 16th going into This and last to go in this group he’ll get us to the halfway point Thomas Loren Gino sabate for Spain knocking on the door of top 10 last year he was in 12th places in 15th after the short program here he’s now the four time Spanish national champion and he comes here on

The back of a win in the nrw trophy in Dort and univ student young man born in Barcelona but up until 2019 in fact he he was representing Switzerland Chang his Allegiance years Ago yeah the atmosphere building all the time stagers you have one minute remaining getting into the closing stages now just to remind you it is ivanco of the Ukraine still leading vadir liet now in second place for Azan and the Austrian muzio xandr in third place after that first group SK is in the second group flying from 13th to 18th Place after the short Program skers your warm is complete please leave the eyes so there we go warm up over now on the eyes representing Germany Nikita [Applause] stos so to get us underway in this second group young man who finished in second place in German Nationals this year originally born in

St Petersburg but very much from representing Germany this is Nikita starostin bit of back streak boys to get us Going the One really solid start that was a triple flip are world reach Your yeah I really wound that up perhaps a little bit too much that was the triple Axle I to yeah lovely elevation and technique on both parts of that combination triple it’s triple toe and there’s the Salco desire you Are scream my Allting reality every time now you can make it right and that makes you larer The See you that makes you wasn’t perfect but it was a mighty fine skate Nik Germany yeah good see him smiling he can be proud of that one Nikita starostin for [Applause] Germany he’s got a very pleasing style that’s for sure Adam solia greeting him at the door he’s pleased with

That Adam part of the coaching team works with Y hris as well Marina shova trains in ANP and in Dortmund there’s that ax just couldn’t quite maintain control on that step out of it down the other end triple looks checks hard reloads and enough tension and enough height

To did well in the spins as well just looking down all three spins getting level four and that is key that can make a huge difference at the end of the day and uh he got a level four for the step sequence as well so cute us to the coaching team and to

Nikita here for hanging on his there and making sure he gets all the turns and changes of direction that he needs to Get so Adam on the left there as we look at it Adam Sia he’s he’s had a busy time here saw him earlier on today and he was he was flagging to say the least looks better now so 13986 it is second place but I think

He’s going to go into the lead with that yeah 21.85 it is first place so he’s got his allotted slot so now staris leads over sharco his total competition score is 21.85 which is a new Season’s best he’s currently in first place next Sweden well a huge moment for this young

Man the 21y old from trell Borg in Sweden debuting here at these European championships he goes into the free lying in 17th place we wish him well Gabrielle fulus Classic piece by Muse exogenesis part Three no hesitation there couldn’t quite control The Landing that was his triple axle That’s more like it well done triple toe on the end Oh couldn’t make the Flip yeah back on track with the sequence Triple Loop double axle double toe Yeah The L’s just eluding him there at the start of the second Half as s looks to me as though his legs have gone a little bit come on Bend those knees oh what a fighter single haxel went for the Triple toe on the End For But he just felt like he was hanging on a bit towards the end but hang on he did and all credit to him yes you can see he can hardly get up it is so tough out there a brave brave effort from Gabrielle ferson for Sweden Gabriel Fon

Sweden yeah I think he gave that everything you couldn’t ask much [Applause] more it looked to me like going into the second half of the program the legs were pretty much empty and he was hanging on great choice of music you can never go wrong can you with that that exogenesis by

Muse I think I spotted a little bit of choreography that was very reminiscent of the great Jeremy Abbott who of course sked to that back when I should know when but I can’t remember so there was his attempt at the ax at the beginning did everything he could to keep his hands off

But all credit to the guy went down the other end of the rink and he gets a lovely triple axle and that deep deep knee Bend giving him a little bit of time to get the triple toe on the end not a great running Edge he going to

Lose on the goe but the base value huge for that element over 12 points and there you can see just singling out but he’s got the wherewithal to think come on let’s try and keep those points going but he couldn’t control that triple toe on the air that was his last jump

Pass and at that point he really was running on empty cuz he done couple of double jumps before that hadn’t he doubled out on the Lots doubled out on the S so a lot of points left on the table and he know that so his season’s best score in the freeze

12735 that’s actually a personal best for him so 12096 not too bad six place it is on the free and that’ll have him six overall I Think eight so far sixth place overall toal comption score is 19167 he’s currently in sixth place next state from Czech Republic Gori Reno so lying in 13th Place it’s the 20-year-old representing the Czech Republic he hails from St Petersburg in Russia he’s getting to music from The Man from

Uncle soundtrack should be fun this is goor Renko oh fantastic start quad toe triple toe doesn’t get much better than That oh that that’s the quad s well he is right on the money that’s for sure triple Axel well that is a crazy opening quad toe right out of the top [Applause] draw N And he’s keeping it going this is magnificent triple flip Oiler Triple S come on down on the Lots oh he’s looking for a double axle there didn’t quite have the legs for it now the push for Home Wow wow we wasn’t that special Mr renko where have you been hiding brilliant [Applause] Stuff well that was an inspirational skate so close he says yeah just couldn’t hang on to that triple LS at the end of the program but he’ll be greeted by a very very Happ happy Michael brazina and Adam solia at the door they will be thrilled with that

This guy trains in Irvine in the USA the five-point arena there magnificent facility where Raphael aronian coaches as well and where Nathan Chen did a lot of his training what a magnificent opening to the program that was quad toe triple toe quad s triple axle quad toe technical score should go through

The roof yes he was lacking here and there on presentation but goodness me so much to respect he didn’t give an inch on that opening did he and he was so close to a clean program just loved it the looks is this the one at the end no that’s the one

With the oiler and there’s the triple Salo from nowhere clean as a whistle there’s no problem with that that’s the one he couldn’t hang on to can spread I’d need knee surgery after that well very very well done to to gorgi and to the team around him Michael

Adam and uh I would imagine there’s a whole host of others as well super stuff so 15392 that’s a huge score that is a personal best for him blows his season best right out of the water and he will go shooting into the lead 22667 I think yeah that’s it

22667 the score for Gori renko you can see what it means these guys work so so hard fantastic well done enjoyed that on the from Finland Mar well it’s a tough act to f follow but somebody’s got to do it and the task Falls to this young man he’s going into

This lying in 18th Place and the chips are down here for my car sunf from Finland Yeah that’ll do nicely to get him underway double axle Oiler triple Sell I couldn’t quite maintain control of the Flip much better on the loop Yeah you got a little height on that lerts couldn’t quite control the toe loop on the End For Everything starting to look a little ragged towards this second half he’s done all the jumps now he wants to really push for home S I just felt from time to time there that he was rushing the timing of the jumps rushing the spins even and just paid the price somewhat ma Finland well he’s keeping in character right to the end and good for him another program there choreographed by Adam solia no wonder he was looking

Tired earlier today goodness me how many of these were not even at halfway yet and he’s been involved in many of the [Applause] Programs so on his day are forced to be reckoned with there’s no doubt about that didn’t give up kept pushing all the way through as much as he could love the concept of the program started off well didn’t it that was the double axle Oiler Triple S there’s the flip just a little bit late with the free leg on the way out of that so has to step out cost him uh what over a a point and a Half winds up the looks back outside edge again a bit slow with the free leg if you get that free leg back slow and you’re doing a combination it tends to make the timing of the second jump a little slow and makes it very very difficult to control they’re just popping the Loots and again you can see that left leg hardly moving on the way out of there a little bit loose on the landing of the flying sit there good enough to get him a level three running out of speed because of that bad landing it the circles end up

Up being a little bit big and it makes the spin rotate slowly which makes it hard to hang on to he did well so 12235 that’s about 10 points below his season’s best score that has him in seventh place on the three and that’ll be seventh overall yeah

19275 for Mara he couldn’t have expected much more than that with the mistakes that he had in the program score is 19275 he’s currently in seventh [Applause] place next state representing Poland Vladimir sov well there’s a big contingent here from Poland that’s for sure next up the three-time Polish

National champion he’s lying in 16th Place going into this let’s get into music from nraam De par this is Vladimir Samuelov Oh he got it all wrong that would have been huge he was going for the quads just a Single Oh that was superb quadal triple toe huge Comeback and there’s the axle triple axle Triple Loop with consumate E forign Spee Oh what a start to the second half Quadal Goodness me where does he get his energy from triple triple Toe To Just magnificent well I’ve got chills and it’s not because it’s cold in the arena oh it’s the stuff of Goosebumps isn’t it people all around on their feet what a comeback that Was well I don’t know if you can tell watching this on the TV but this guy came out there and he was thundering around the rink and to be honest I thought he was skating too fast perhaps he was and after popping the looks at the beginning I don’t think he put a

Foot wrong did he two magnificent quad Salos and one in the second half of the program his energy level is through the roof Yeah you take a bow mate [Applause] Brilliant well well not even at halfway and uh we have witnessed some outstanding performances here in this men’s free that’s when it all went wrong honestly the speed he had going into that looks if he’d have taken off and got it right he’d been changing the light bulbs I

Think and this was his response after the mistake it takes real courage to do that I cannot stress that enough that attempt at the quads would have felt Dreadful and you’d be doubting yourself you’d be questioning your timing well I would anyway not this guy He made it look so so easy I can only imagine how she must be feeling he gave me goosebumps that Performance quite stunning well I hope you’re enjoying this as much as me and that cartwheel in the end that summed up the performance didn’t it outstanding now looking at that picture you sense a real team effort don’t You yeah huge score 15912 and that’s 19 points more than he’s ever got before in the free and he goes shooting into the lead 23017 that is a monstrous score for him brilliant and welld deserved 17 which is a new Season’s best he’s currently in first place on the ice representing Spain Thaso so to get us to halfway it’s the young man lying in 15th Place going into this he was 12th in the European championships last year this is the third time he’s competed at Europeans wish him all the best here Thomas Lauren garino sabat from Spain When he made the rotation couldn’t quite control the landing of the triple Axle and again a bit slow the free Leg that’s much more like it Triple Loop and there’s a asalo seems to have got his rhythm going Now we well that really was a super piece of Footwork now until the end come on he’s got to hang on in there we’re in the second half [Applause] Now Mar Long Oh well done good sequence in the dying moments here triple toe double axle well that really does sum up the first half of this men’s free doesn’t it what a lot of Fun well if you’re not smiling now nothing will make you smile yeah he was down and out I think he was down and out with a minute to go to be honest hanging on in there just it’s such a shame he just doubted him himself at the beginning of the program I think

Maybe the nerves got the better of him just a little question mark and when you think they’re doing these jumps in a split second in the air for less than a second three and a half rotations you imagine what it takes to stop that the timing’s only got to be a tiny bit

Off and that’s what happens you just can’t stop the rotation there’s the cross foot spin got to get your weight evenly distributed on both feet on that I think he did difficult exit with the cartwheel there some wonderful pieces of choreography in there great outside edge

Going into the triple Ds does he make it round yes he does just had to put the hand down to steady his balance on the way out There great look isn’t he program choreograph by benoir benoir R show hey it’s all right mate you gave it your best shot contributed to a fantastic first half of this men’s free so his personal best is uh 14186 he’s had 13748 this season it’s going to be a 130

Seventh place where will that be overall I think he’s going to finish in seventh place take a look got my Abacus out trying to work it out yeah seventh it is 20226 he’s currently in seventh place but for entertainment value he’d be uh one of the top wouldn’t he what an amazing event and it’s uh only going to get better the next couple of hours or so are going to be stunning that’s for sure that’s how it stands going into the final two

Groups just uh to wet your whistle Vladimir Sam samv at the top of the pile at the moment gorgi renko in second Nikita staris in third and uh Ukrainian Iva sharenko in fourth place yeah remember he started the competition he skated so well so we’ve got an ice resurface now

We’ve got the top two groups still to go the battle for the medals remember it’s Adam see him far out in front the defending Champion he was great in the short program superb in practice this morning can he possibly keep it going in the free we’re going to find out over

The next couple of hours going to take a break now but uh rejoin me in about 15 minutes you won’t want to miss this second half of the men’s free it’s going to be a Humdinger see you in a Minute Here sector all all four sectors please Stande go You are La who thinks who supports sector of [Applause] Piop [Applause] the last the last words for our Spectators who wins Grand Final is the winner Pise maybe the winers are guitar [Applause] player in my opinion winners are Sector [Applause] guys we’re waiting for you tomorrow but the main thing soon will know who will win the medals in man free SK I Be Please welcome with a big Lo theaters of the third group well I hope you’re having fun if you enjoyed that I can tell you the party has only just begun here we are the penultimate group in the men’s free here at the European figure skating championship for

2024 what an evening this is turning out to be it be Nikolai mola first to go from Italy then Adam hagara from Slovakia he’s followed by the georan Nika agat he’s lying in 10th [Applause] place then in seventh and skating fourth it’s Luke eom economides he’s in ninth place from Israel Mark

Gadinski and last to go from Sweden in eth Andreas nbec you have minutes Well I can honestly say it is an absolute privilege to be sat here watching these guys that’s how they’re going to go in this penultimate group and then after this group we’ve got the top six and just to remind you it’s a defending Champion Adam see him far in the lead

He’ll be fifth tocate in second place it’s Lucas bridy for Switzerland and in third place Alexander sevco for Estonia all that coming up after this group but there’s some uh topnotch skaters coming up here Nikolas mola from Italy the Italian national champion 15th in the European championships a couple of years ago he

Was fifth in the Grand Prix of espu and 11th in an struggled a little bit with consistency this year did well in Budapest though the Budapest trophy finished on top of the podium there from Italy Nikolai mea did really well as a junior also is fourth in the junior

World Championships last year so here’ll be followed by Adam hagara from Slovakia third time in the European championship for him he was 18th Last year he’s the three-time Slovakian NA national champion and uh did really well in the Junior Grand Prix this season bronze medalist in the ISU Junior Grand

Prix Final in Beijing he won in Austria the Grand Prix there and fourth in Budapest so definitely want to keep your eye on that’s for sure he’s lying in 11th place going into this free program after him Nick aat from Georgia he was seventh in the European championships last year that was a

Fantastic result for him and he loved to get inside that top 10 again if he possibly can goes into this l in 10th Place and he was fourth in the NHK trophy as he was in Skate America runner up in the Dennis 10 Memorial in aana so he’s had a pretty good Season lying in seventh place and uh fourth to escape in this group it’s Luke economides from France this his first time at the European Championship so a huge moment for him and uh very well done to be going into the free program in seventh place he

Want to keep the momentum going if he can finished sixth in oner in the Grand Prix there 10th he was in the NHK trophy that was the last competition he done prior to these Europeans fifth to go in this group oh yeah he looks smooth doesn’t he that’ll do very very nicely Mark G nitzki of Israel trains in Richmond Hill Canada in that’s where he was born and uh he’s competed in the European championships a few times his best result was last year

Where he finished in 13th Place but uh going into this in ninth if he can keep himself in the top 10 that would be a massive achievement for him runner up in the Warsaw cup sixth in Skate Canada only did one of the Grand pris in the series this Season and last to go and lying in eighth place it’s Andreas nordback for Sweden this the second time that he’s competed in Europeans and he did so well in his first outing last year in ESU finishing it in Ninth Place Another skater that only competed in one Grand Prix didn’t Fair too well

It was Skate America the first Grand Prix of the series he finished in 12th Place competed in the Finlandia trophy as well in ESU which is a Challenger Series event finished in 11 place there started the season off well though won the nordics open so that’s what we’ve got to look

Forward to in this penultimate group the skaters in the final group there you can see on the big screen warming up and then we can see for real there they are trying to get rid of that nervous energy get the focus get the timing get your body warmed

Up cannot wait for that final group although this is going to be fun and if you have just joined us where have you been you’ve missed an absolute treat so just to remind you it’s Vladimir sov for Poland leading at the moment as we go into the penultimate

Group gorgi renko for the Czech Republic in second and Germany’s Nikita starostin in third place worth mentioning uh the guy in fourth to be honest Ivan smarco from the Ukraine he went out first and skated an absolute Blinder on the eyes from Italy Nikolai mea so to get us underway in this third

Group in the men’s free here at the European figure skating championships in cus it’s the Italian national champion lying in 12th Place it’s nicolaj mamola music from Samson and Delila Sh oh that’s huge what a start quads ah just a triple let just rush that one a little Bit Back on track with a huge combination triple Axel Oiler triple Salo and there’s the [Applause] Loop We we B Right on the beat of the bang triple Axle well it was a bit off axis in the first part of that combination triple LS but he got a toe loop on the end And there’s his sequence this triple flip double Axle Well that was a beautiful bit of choreography particularly that last part he’s a talent this guy is name that quad looks at the beginning was an absolute [Applause] cracker Italy well if that set the tone for this third group we’re in for a [Applause] treat And you can see the place filling up there’s uh on the lower level there aren’t an awful lot of spare seats and that’s great to See so here’s that look to the beginning look how much height and length he gets on that it’s one thing getting the rotation going isn’t it it’s a completely different ball game trying to stop it there you can see he was going for the quads again

There and that one he would have had to have done in combination it put the pressure on because normally he does quads triple toe at the beginning of the program but because the first one was on its own the second one had to be in combination but it just changes the context Slightly so many highlights in the [Applause] Program he’s got a wonderful style good good feel for the music and worth mentioning again the way he interpreted the music over that uh last stage it is a powerful piece Samson and Del okay his best score 16138 that is his personal best score it’s a overall yep

22588 so I think he’ll take that his total competition score 22588 he’s currently in third place on the eyes from Slovakia Adam on the ice now the 17-year-old from Slovakia never been outside the top 10 at the Europeans this is his third appearance but he’s got a real shot here he goes into this free lying in 11th place bit of aosmith Dream On the music the skating from Adam Hagara [Applause] Yeah did well to stop that almost gave it too much triple axle double Toe he doesn’t hang about does he triple axle number Two what a pristine clean combination of triple flip triple Toe he’s on the money tonight Triple Loop Well a ridiculous entry into that sequence triple flip and a couple of double axles on the end And there’s the LS Take Yeah he’s made it a full house that’s the CCO S another unbelievable skate from this [Applause] man yeah there were no quads but it didn’t matter did [Applause] it wasn’t that great couple of the elements being looked at by the technical panel let’s hope they give it the thumbs up I think they have I couldn’t see any short rotation

There he came out with all guns blazing and did everything he possibly could to do a Clean Program very proud Vladimir greeting him at the Door there’s that triple axle see left side got away from him a little bit and almost ran out of room double toe on the end came thundering down the other end of the rink another triple axle and that set the tone for the rest of the program

Here’s the flip think this is in combination with the triple toe yeah he gets this triple toe out of literally nowhere look at that perfect rotation and there’s the loop that concluded his four jump passes at the beginning of the program that’s one of the few elements that didn’t get

A positive grade of execution this I thought was superb the triple flip he had a really difficult entry into it and then a couple of double axles on the end there’s one you want another one there you go yeah the choreography is a little rough around the

Edges but I suppose so is Steven Tyler’s voice so it it all fits in fantastic well done Adam so his personal best is 14851 you got that in the NEPA Memorial that was uh in September so it was this season in fact that’s his personal best score as well could he possibly beat

That here it’s going to be close to it 14585 so not quite it’s Fourth on the threee I think they’ll have him fourth overall he’s going to be close to a personal best score with his total score I think it’s 220 yeah 222 was his best score so uh very very well done

He gave it his best shot Curr in on the eyes representing Georgia so lying in 10th Place the 21-year-old from tiil tii sorry in Georgia this is NAA got say music from mulong Rouge the story is about Love very He oh goodness me how he stayed on his feet there that was the quad toe nearly a quint That’s more like it oh magnificent stuff quadal triple toe what a Comebacks Couldn’t quite maintain control of the quadal There oh real quality on that sequence triple axle d Class [Applause] See take on that red light walk the streets for Money again he had to really work hard to find the right foot the triple axle was great at the beginning of that combination but the Salo a real scramble better on the flip And there’s the Looks You [Applause] well incredible passion out there it’s a big big piece of music in a stadium like this and he was a match for It even a touch there towards the end where he ripped open the [Applause] shirt it is amazing you know I find it staggering the way these guys can make a mistake do a jump when the timing is completely off and I can tell you it feels awful

When you go up in the air and you’re you’re not on and you’re oscillating it’s the worst feeling in the world I should know I did it enough but enough of that it’s true it is a really weird feeling but to have the confidence and the we with all to come thundering down

The other end of the rink and and be able to get the timing spot on it’s amazing very far and you can see from these slow MOS it wasn’t all perfect when it worked it was good but often he had problems just stopping the rotation particularly on that quad toe at the

Beginning he honestly could have gone round again I Think he passed my way fantastic energy towards the end of the program and that’s commendable particularly with all that have gone on in the program and I’ve said it before that you know when everything’s working right the program it’s it’s physically demanding but it’s much easier to get

Through the program when you’ve got to work on the elements and you you have to work extra hard to stop them because your timing’s a little bit late it takes more energy So his best score 16460 that he got in the lombardia trophy it’s going to be a 15616 it’s second place second place on the night I think that’s enough to put him into the lead though only needed 15318 he should be leading by my calculations yeah that’s right 23316 so niik

Agat for Georgia goes into the lead Vladimir sov down into second place now we’ve got three to go in this penultimate group on the guys representing France LZ well he’s lying in seventh place his debut at the European Championship runner up in French Nationals this year huge moment for this young man Luke

Economides from France but of Charlie Chaplain could be Fun Just a double Axle And there’s the triple couldn’t quite maintain control hand [Applause] down loads of elevation on the triple LS see is a little love AIS on the Loop well that is a really difficult camel spin I can tell you change of Edge and change of Direction Speee [Applause] Though your heart is aen smile even it’sing Just couldn’t hang on to that triple axle that should have been in combination the program heavily weighted to the back end the combinations all planned in the back half Tomorrow you see the oh that was a great effort triple flip triple Toe you need the combination and he did it just a Single Well it a beautiful program and he kept in character all the way Through that’s not easy to do when you take a theme like that and you’ve got to incorporate all those difficult technical elements to keeping character as he did there very very difficult that program choreographed incidentally by uh Javier Fernandez and his coach floraa amodio you can see the influence

There can’t you can imagine Floren doing that program I think he may have Actually well it was commendable just uh planning the program as they did it’s a gamble to put the combinations in the second half because of course if the the first jump doesn’t work you can’t get the second jump out and you run out of jumps to be able to replace [Applause]

It and he had to get that lot in the end in combination even though he only put a single toe on it it was important that he did that because he already already done a lots on its Own there’s that triple axle that should have been in combination he was looking for Oiler and Triple S and that was a repetition because he done a triple axle already so that’s the price that you pay that’s the Gamble a little bit short on rotation on that one as well but he’s got a wonderful character remember this is first time in the European championship for him and to go into the free lying in seventh place he may well drop outside the top 10 but the experience that he will have

Gained here is invaluable so where will they have him is his best score in the free is 153.7 13197 it’s 10th place on the free remember we’ve still got eight to go so he’s going to drop it’s going to be eighth overall I think looking at that yeah eighth it

Is but he gave it his best shot and he will have learned so much from competing here at these European championships on the eyes from Israel Mark kitki so two to go in this group on the ice now the 22-year-old from Richmond Hill in Canada that’s where he trains that’s where he’s

Born but here representing Israel and lying in ninth place this is Mark ginski Oh beautiful control on the landing of the triple axle that’s a confidence Booster Oh couldn’t control that one though should have been his Sequence this look a little rush that was a triple Looks So fast with the rotation triple flip triple toe A lovely flow through the combination axle Oiler Triple S lovely triple flip on his Own didn’t get much height on that but he made it round that was the Loop It was great wasn’t it it was so nearly a Clean Program marit Israel yep he can give himself a a huge pat on the back for that performance such a shame he couldn’t get that second triple axle Out but uh so much of the program he can be very very proud of technical panel just looking at that loop at the end the one that I said was a little bit low they’ve given that a under rotation so he’s going to lose a little bit on the technical score there

The focus that he had at the beginning of the program there’s that first triple axle that’s the second one really think he he had quite enough lift on that here’s the flip lovely knee bent perfect landing position there shoulders really Square over the hips and uh a lovely triple toe on the

End and there sideways position on the camel in that combination spin he got a level four for the combo four features completed perfectly wonderful drama and passion all the way through yeah that close you were that close yeah just a a couple of elements with the negative goe of course that

Triple axle that went down on had to have so his personal best score 16123 got that in the Warsaw cup a 14.06 seventh on the free be quite that bad overall don’t think I should have him sixth place overall is a good component score there one deduction of course for the fall on

The axles so yeah sixth place it is 21756 not what he was looking for he knows there are seven skaters still to go on the eyes from Sweden Andreas n so lying in eighth [Applause] place second time for him the European championships was ninth last year in

Espo getting to the Dark Night Rises From the Batman soundtrack this is Andreas nbak from Sweden oh down on the triple Axle No problems with the flip though real quality to That real deep knee Bend into the lots and he got the timing completely wrong just a Double Back on track with a good Triple For oh did so well with that triple CCO no speed whatsoever was the flip before It can’t get that Luts Though Oh No [Applause] well that is a real shame he’s a class hack this guy just the timing was not there was it that was a long long four minutes for Himen it’s a tough old game [Applause] this there aren’t many sports where you’re out on your own you’re giv a space in time to do your performance and if it starts going wrong somehow you’ve got to figure it out for yourself there’s nobody you can call on you’re out there on your

Own and it can feel like the worst place in the world you’re under pressure you’re tired you’re exhausted your legs won’t work and somehow some way you got to Tau yourself through it and today poor old Andreas here he couldn’t find the words I think on those Lutes he just

Gave it too much knee Bend to be honest he got so down into the Ice yeah I really feel for him because at no point in that program did he give up yeah things didn’t work but it wasn’t for the lack of trying and this that is an indication of the guts of this guy he was hardly moving going into that triple CCO you

See he couldn’t get any lift but he still made it and there yeah well it was a dark night for poor old Andreas but he’ll be back the scores please 17th Place it’s going to be 16th overall it’s tough to take when you’ve done so well in the short program to to go into this in eighth place he’s dropping like a stone and it’s tough to take a really feel for the guy but he’ll be back there’ll be better days

So that’s how it stands going into the final group we’ve got six to go the top six after the short program that’s the situation further down there have been some outstanding performances perhaps not in that group Applause but throughout the evening there certainly have been and here we [Applause]

Go this promises to be spectacular he’s suffering from an injury we wish him well here he’s in sixth place the silver medalist from last year mattio Rizzo will be first to goal Dennis vasilas they love him bronze medalist in 20122 he’s in fifth second AG go Gabrielle Frangipani 10th last year is’s in

Fourth going into this alexand Alexander sevco from Estonia in third can he get himself on the podium the defending Champion will be fifth to go Adam see him far he’s in the lead and last to go for Switzerland lying in second place Lucas Bitki so much at stake in this free program it’s uh for some of them it’ll be the most important four minutes of their lives so far or certainly their skating career so we look at Mario Rizzo he didn’t compete in Italian Nationals this year he’s got an injury to the right

Hip I believe and as I understand it he’s going to have surgery after the Europeans so we wish you well mate it’s it’s a tough sport when you’re fit so can you imagine going out here final group is going to be the first one out and that may play in his

Favor he’s in sixth place but don’t rule him out so he’ be followed by Dennis vasilev first laan skater to earn a medal at the European championship when he won that bronze medal in 2022 what can he do here he’s desperately trying to get that quad

Salco out he worked so hard on it on practice this morning he may well have landed one but I didn’t see one just a joy to watch isn’t he fifth he was last year didn’t have a great time in the grand pris this season ninth in SK America seventh in the NHK

Trophy but you can’t help but love him so here’ll be followed by the man lying in fourth place ital’s Gabrielle Fran japani the Italian team flying high they were superb in the pairs can he keep the momentum going here of course Two Italians in this final Group which is Sensational for

Them another skater with real flare love watching him skate music by Andre belli that’s going to be very special [Applause] indeed well Estonia have never been on the podium in the men’s event at the European championships could that all changed today lying in third place Alexander sevco he was Sensational in the short

Program if he can emulate that performance who knows he will stand a very very good chance of a medal here oh yes he looks on the money that will do nicely and in the lead in great form I watched him practice this morning and he was just brilliant Adam SE him far

He’s come here it wasn’t the best of short programs by his own admission there were mistakes in there but his quality of skating and the quality of all the other elements puts him almost in a class of his own he can probably afford to make a mistake and still win not too many

[Applause] mistakes so he’ll be fifth to go and last to go Lucas bridy for Switzerland goodness me these guys are delivering aren’t they so he was on the podium last year do you remember that third place and uh he together with Kimmy Rond the first Swiss skaters to win medals at the

European championships since 2023 when Sarah took the title but she took the title back in uh 2011 so the scene is set for a fantastic battle here can anybody get close to this man [Applause] and he punched himself that woke him up so just to remind you it’ll be Rizzo to go first then Dennis vasilos he’s followed by Gabrielle fanani Alexandra

Zelenko will be next to go Adam C him far will follow him he’s fifth and then Lucas bitki for Switzerland will be last to go fanani dressed for the part isn’t he let’s take a look at him yeah I couldn’t quite control the quad s closing seconds of this warmup

Now can tell you just off camera that Dennis vasiliev did a a fantastic triple axle wonder whether he’ll go for the quad or just opt for a Clean [Applause] Program next state representing Italy M well this is it the final group in the men’s free skate here at these European

Figure skating championships the medals will be decided now to get us underway lying in sixth place it’s uh the silver medalist from last year he is carrying an injury we wish him well here it’s the wonderful matio Rizzo from Italy when you try your best but you don’t succeed

When get what she want but not what she need when you feel so TI but you can’t s stop can Reverse just a perfect start quto when you lose something you can’t replace when you love goes to was could it be Wor oh clean as mustard triple it’s triple Toe you And oh his timing is perfect triple flip Oiler triple Salo and there’s the Loop Love Let It Go just you No what a sequence triple axle double axle mattio is on [Applause] fire See And and I will try to fix you I’ll tell you what these guys are made of special stuff that was a superhuman [Applause] effort well I’ve said it before you know when you’re fit it’s hard enough to get through this free program but when you’re carrying an injury can you

Imagine now to be able to perform a program like that you’ve got to do it time and time again you’ve got to do double run throughs when when your legs are empty and your lungs are screaming and your coach says to you come on we’re

Going to do it again and you look at him like he’s got three heads now mattio wouldn’t have been able to do that because of the injury that was brilliant in so many Ways just fantastic Riv and you could sense couldn’t you there was a a r smile here and there at the beginning once he’d got those four jump passes done and he thought hang on a minute the timing’s working I’m over my feet it’s all feeling Good just Wonderful well I think the music was fitting as well wasn’t it it’s probably from Coldplay’s finest Hour fix you and that’s exactly what they’re going to do to him after after these Championships such a shame he couldn’t have made that last triple Axle fantastic effort you’ve contributed to a magnificent evening of figure skating Mr Rizzo loved every second of it great way to start the final group that’s for sure so 17044 it’s the lead and he’s going to go into the lead overall with that score for dead Shaw

It’s a season’s best score for him 2587 it will be it’s going to come up on your screen any second now so he’s going to finish at worst in sixth place he’ll have to wait and see what happens but he’s he’s put some pressure on he did

Skatee very very well that was a marvelous effort well done mattio on from laia venis vasil so going into the free just with his nose ahead of mattio it’s the bronze medalist from a couple of years ago the wonderful Dennis vasilos from Lva now will he go for the quad sa if he will it’ll be the first jump of the Program Oh so close thought he got It and he does it brilliant stuff not sure it was all the way Round oh just real quick quality on that sequence triple axle double axle and there’s the [Applause] Loop I just a great running Edge coming out of that triple Axle Oh [Applause] sometimes I get to wor be back I don’t know too but I [Applause] Well it takes your breath away doesn’t it he hit every single beat of that program and everybody around is smiling a lot of them on their feet applauding the master just [Applause] brilliant look at that and rightly so well I think he paid the price for

Having too much fun out there just lost the focus a couple of times but that program to be honest without any jumps or any spins in it would uh keep you enthralled wouldn’t it for four minutes and ironically he’s done a couple of quads there at the beginning

Of the program and I can tell you it is not consistent that quad s at all there you can see going for that first one and to come back I don’t think it was quite round yeah double footed Landing but uh it was a brave brave

Effort who am I to question whether he was going to go for it there that magnificent sequence triple axle double axle that was his third jump Pass yeah ironically his score would probably be higher if he’d not gone for the quad s but what it does mean that the fact that he stayed on his feet on one that’s going to give him confidence as he goes into the world championship because he’s going to need it there but

He needs it here about Nobody gives it more do they Stefan lomel must be so so proud and what a great job he’s done as a mentor for Dennis viliv so just to remind you as Rizzo leading a second sov in third place at the moment so he needs 168.5 4 to go into

The lead he’s not going to do that it’s 1558 fourth place he’s going to be in second with that score so still Rizzo leading he’s going to go up a place it looks like yeah fourth on the free second overall so Rizzo leading vasilia of second autti

In third now we’ve got four to [Applause] go next escate representing Italy we take a breath settle down [Applause] still plenty more to come lying in fourth place for Italy this is Gabrielle Frangipani Just rush the timing slightly there triple toe should have been a Quad but he gets the [Applause] CCO and there’s his sequence just magnificent triple axle double axle So much hide on the axle on its Own So clean on the Combination Oh this is turning into some performance a gorgeous triple Flip and there’s the Luts with a Salo on the end he’s digging deep Now Be [Applause] more you are come To what a night this is turning out to be that was a performance of real character first attempt at the quad toe didn’t work but for there on from there on in he didn’t look down not a bit of it he fought his way back well the Italian team have been inspirational

Here in cus from the peirs event the ice dance and here martio Rizzo at the beginning of this group with an injury skating like he did and here Gabrielle fanani keeps the Italian dream going wasn’t it magnificent so here he is the attempt at the quad to at the beginning I just

Thought he was a little bit quick but he did the right thing he stayed on that back outside edge just calmed himself down and from there on in he did not look back a fantastic quad sou to follow and then here that triple axle some super interpretation another program choreographed by

Benoa there’s the looks he gets a triple toe on the end looks as though it could have been a little bit short but they’ve given him the nod yeah looking down it’s uh just the the triple Oiler Triple S that gets a negative Goe well it’s not disappointing is it this men’s free they’re living up to the expectation so he needs 16737 to go into the lead 15392 or more would get him in second place where’s it going to be remember Rizzo leading vilia second AI [Applause] Third 16258 it is second place On the night and uh that’s going to be second overall for frani so it’s going to be an Italy one two at the moment with Dennis vasilev in third place agatti drops off the podium remember we’ve got three to go on the ice representing Estonia Alexander well this young man was just a

Revelation in the short program if you missed it you missed a treat can he possibly replicate that sort of performance in the free here wish him all the very best of luck it’s the wonderful Alexander sevo from Estonia [Applause] oh that was a dream of a quto [Applause] He Huge combination triple axle triple toe GL Oh what so hard There yeah good sequence Triple H double axle double Toe and there’s the CCO [Applause] Be Just a mindblowing effort from Estonia well all around the arena people on their feet applauding what was a Monumental performance from Alexander sevco from Estonia absolutely Sensational remember Estonia have never won a medal at of European championships in the men’s event could that change here it

Might goodness me it makes the hairs on the backy and X Stand Up doesn’t it so if he goes into the lead here he’s got a medal we’ve got two to go and he’s given it his best shot he gave it absolutely everything from the moment he stepped onto the

Ice thundering into this toe loop nothing wrong with that Majestic on that back outside edge on the landing there’s the axle checks hard triple toe on the end building the points all the time and the the look of determination on his face he wasn’t giving an inch and even

Towards the end of the program when he gets into the second half and he steps in to try and do that triple axle only gets a double this is it you could see he didn’t get over the right foot only two and 1 half turns on that that was one of

The few mistakes in the program but he didn’t let it affect anything as he went through to the end he pushed hard and once the jumps were done the push for home was exhilarating great position on the hydro Blade Well done Alexander brilliant loved it well he hasn’t been in the European championships for four years and back in 2020 he was in 16th Place now where will they have him 160. 183 or more and he’s got a medal he’s got a medal 16694 it’s second place at the moment

But just wait just wait there it is he’s in the lead he cannot believe it fantastic stuff he is on the podium Estonia have got themselves a medal in the men’s event here in cus what an achievement well that was wonderful a shot of his brother there as well on the ice representing

[Applause] well it’s not over yet we’ve got two to go the leader after the short program the defending Champion just needs to settle down now before he comes out and does his free Adam Su him far from France can he keep it together here Is Oh what a start quad [Applause] Looks now he’s got to keep his Cool oh no he’s off axis on the toe there was no way back from That yeah I really made sure of that triple axle double Axle And he just about hangs on to the quad South That’s more like it what a combination quto triple toe and triple axle number Two [Applause] [Applause] h Well who ever doubted him a superhuman effort there from the defending Champion all around me people on their feet yeah there were a couple of mistakes in there but it didn’t really matter the quality of skating the speed across the ice the athleticism of this man defy belief [Applause] really just

Amazing benoir greeting him at the door with Cedric T who coach him in Ni so much work gone into the program this was a monster of a jump the quad LS that set the tone for the program over 11 points on that one jump alone there you can see he’s completely off axis on that quad toe but he’s stuck with It look at the determination on that quad toe triple toe the way he reloads on the landing of the first jump to get that triple toe on the end the scratch butterfly at warp factor speed and there the back flip I’m not sure that’s allowed to be honest but hey Ho well it was a real Treat just gave it everything he had and there’s the [Applause] team well he needs 162.475 he’s locked in with that performance yeah 18204 that is a huge score and there’s confirmation one 27617 Adam seim far is I’m sure going to his title we’ve got one to go but I

Can’t imagine that that’s going to be beaten that’s the situation one to go but it looks locked in on the ice from Switzerland Lucas so lying in second [Applause] place what can he do here bronze medalist last year this is the Swiss National Champion Lucas Briki Oh down on the quto that should have been in Combination now he’s got another quad toe scheduled here he’s got to do this one in combination ah just a Double and he can’t control the triple axle it’s all slipping away away better on the loop he can’t make another mistake Oh good man a great sequence there triple axle double [Applause] Axle oh no he needed that to be a triple Salo on the end got the flip at the beginning Sh Be Oh Lucas I think the damage was done at the beginning of the program has he done enough to stay on the podium remember he’s a bronze medalist last [Applause] year oh it’s going to be [Applause] agonizing so no qu that’s going to count remember it’s Adam seima who’s locked in the title again he’s defended his crown and rightly so Alexander sevco for Estonia in second place and he’s going to stay there as well it’s mattio Rizzo who’s in the bronze medal position

And that would be well a fairy tale if he wins a bronze here and I think it might happen it was just a step too far wasn’t it for Lucas L the concept of the Program if he’ has stayed on his feet on that it might well have been a different story but I think that was Crucial and even there the confidence just wasn’t there the pressure too much sometimes it can be a nemesis to be skating last in the group you’ve got a long long wait from the warmup and the Gremlins can get into your Head here’s that triple axle that’s the sort of quality we used to see him from him double axle on the end that was that sequence that started the second half half and even here that triple flip Oiler that should have been a triple Salo on the end of

That he just gave away too many points I’ve got a horrible feeling he’s going to be slipping off the podium remember he’s in second place going into this but there’s not much in it he’s sensing the worst isn’t he Michael Hood sat alongside who coaches him in obersdorf

Oh it’s going to be agonizing what does he need he needs 15971 to be in third place he’s not going to get first he’s not going to get second can he possibly stay on the podium no he can’t 10th place on the free can you believe it

15129 he’s not going to want to see the next one fifth place it is so there on the right hand side of your screen are the medalists for the European championships here in cus what an evening oh it’s h in your mouth stuff isn’t it poor old Lucas fifth

Place but he’s contributed to a magnificent men’s competition for the victory ceremony breathtaking so that’s how it ends up Adam retains the title with a a masterful performance not Flawless but it was brilliant Alexander wasn’t he Sensational Alexander sevco for Estonia winning the first medal for

Estonia in the men’s event here at the European championships and mattio Rizzo carrying that injury to finish with a bronze medal here was a Monumental performance some more Great Skates further down it was a magnificent night of figure skating hope you’ve enjoyed it Okay congratulations see so many people are cheering for you make some noise for Adam tell me how do you feel hello everyone uh I feel actually really great um I’m so so happy actually I don’t realize it and I’m really proud thank you everyone uh to be here to support us

People who likes your performance and were amazed about yours your job you did on on the ice um I actually congrats everyone to all the skaters and to everyone who was here at the event uh everyone is giving his best at this competition and we are all trying to push our Sports to

Develop it okay p p ladies and gentlemen Adam France is celebrating Make some noise for Adam France well it was a a magnificent men’s competition there’s no doubt about it and this was a very very special performance it’ll be uh a magical bronze medal for Mario Rizzo yes he’s been on the podium before he was third back in 2019 silver medalist last year but in some way when you you’ve got an injury you’ve not been able to train as you would have liked to come here and to finish on the podium is just

Fantastic and this is a fairy tale Estonia have never been on the podium in the men’s event at the European championships and here in second place after a fantastic short program and he kept it going in the free it was stunning Alexander sevco will not forget his time here in

Cus and at the top of his game he’s made mistakes in the short and in the free but such is the quality of the man such is the determination and I think he summed it up that all all the guys here are trying to push the development of the sport they’re pushing

Themselves right to the Limit and Beyond Adam SE him far with a back flip as well defends his crown an emphatic Style so that’s the scene here in the wonderful zalo Stadium we’re just about ready for the victory [Applause] Ceremony ISU European figure skating championships 2024 Victory ceremony Men third and winner of the bronze medal from Italy M Rito so here he is after finishing sixth on in the short program he must have thought any chance of a medal here is out of the window but he fought his way through that free and uh skated a magnificent

Performance at the beginning of the group and here he is mattio Rizzo from Italy winner of the bronze medal Second and winner of the silver medal from Estonia Alexander well this guy must be pinching himself he was a revelation in the short program it has to be said and we were questioning could he put two performances back to back of that sort of quality yes he could he answered Us in

The only way he knows how brilliant Alexander Zevo from Estonia winner of the silver medal first and European figur single skating Champion for 2024 from France well he’s done it again and to be honest at the end of the day he was in a class of his own yes

There were mistakes there were mistakes in the short but small ones and a few flaws in the free his tremendous season continues Adam seim Far European Champion again and that’s so good to see please welcome the ISU representative La Mr Lair the representative of the international skating Union here who

Must be thrilled with how the event has panned out the organization of these European championships has been second On a huge Roar for Alexander as he receives his silver medal matio thrilled with his bronze I can tell you but at the top of the podium again Adam [Applause] seima please welcome the president of the Lithuanian skating Federation well he’s a very proud man indeed and uh rightly so he and his

Organizing Committee of uh done a superb job putting these championships together and I think the athletes have responded the fans have been brilliant the stage management of the event has been well I’ve got to say Second To None I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it and it’s inspired the

Athletes to perform beyond beyond their dreams in some cases controller em so the referee and the head of the technical panel giving their congratulations to the men they must have been inthrall sat down on ringside watching this everywhere I look people have got their phones up they’re smiling they’re Talking ladies and Gentlemen please rise for the national anthem of the Champion W [Applause] just wonderful well what a men’s free that was ladies and gentlemen these are your medalists so there they are the medalists the men’s event here in the European figure skating championships for 2024 C Us in the heart of Lithuania has delivered a memorable event that’s for

  4. Unpopular opinion: I like Adam, but let's be honest, he didn't deserve to win here. It was not the best performances (especially in the short program 😢).

  10. Ivan Shmuratko's performance is very touching. Thank you, Ivan, for reminding the world what's happening in Ukraine 💓

  11. Great event although I think Adam's backflip was a little cheeky. Presumptuous… Chris was great, supportive and excited for the great skating!

  12. I am 81 years old and have been following skating forever and your performance was the most heart rendering I have ever seen.
Thank you Ivan and my heart goes out to you and your country.

  13. Estonia should have won, the performance was amazing, without any mistakes, it's not fair that a Frenchman won, who made two mistakes and an illegal somersault, so I understand that there is also corruption, small countries have no chance to win the first places in such a sport. By the way, I'm from Lithuania.

  14. Селевко красавчик! Великолепный прокат! А потом с такой топовой внешностью – его ждёт Голливуд!!!
