Exactly the um 8 under great position awesome round today 62 how would you assess what was clicking for you and just what were the key kind of moments of the round yeah hit a lot of Fairways and made a lot of putts um only had one
Kind of Hiccup um hitting in in the hazard really it was like almost the ocean on 11 but um got up and down made made it bogey there um but otherwise I mean I I had it rolling um I missed a couple putts that you know you wish you
Made but I made a lot more other ones that I probably shouldn’t have so um kept it in play that was kind of a premium yesterday I only hit four Fairways I think today was I I’m guessing it was 10 at least so uh credit
A lot of my birdies for that just being in the Short Grass a lot of wedges around here short Golf Course um got to take advantage of their opportunities par fives played them well um I really wasn’t doing a whole lot the first eight holes one under through eight and just
Kind of kicked it into gear as I was making the turn felt like the back nine had maybe a few more birdies to offer the front has some pretty tough t- shots and spots and not as many short irons so um just felt like I did a good job
Managing my game I feel like coming off the offseason it’s kind of one of the toughest things is course management because I go home and all I do is attack pens and when you get on tour you got to be a little bit more cautious um to some
Of the tuck pens So Yesterday maybe didn’t do quite as good a job today did a little bit better and hopefully continue to Trend that direction the rest of the weekend the off season what did you kind of do what was your what were your last six weeks what didn’t I
Do I flew nine times in December which was dumb um so I felt like I need an offseason for my offseason right now but um uh put the clubs up for a few a couple weeks which was great I feel like on tour you know we we grind Non-Stop
And so when we get the opportunity to take a break for me personally mentally I feel like it’s super important to get away from it um come back fresh want it more um so for me those first couple weeks kind of Thanksgiving through beginning of December didn’t do much um
Maybe a vacation or two and then um kind of the rest of December catching up with family over the holidays um hanging out with sponsors doing a lot of lot more than I probably should have but nonetheless I got away from golf which I think is really important in offseason
Guys talk about trying to work on their games and kind of get in different positions for me I know my game’s there I I contended a couple times this last fall and last year so for me taking a a step away was good feel fresh um you
Know I feel like my game isn’t as sharp as I want it but when it comes game time I I feel like I’m a game time player so I just kind of let it rip and see what happens so it’s been good so far what’s

Nice used uh you know all year we rack up points uh traveling in hotels so basically had a free trip to Turks and Kos which was fun um used all points for the flights and and hotel and everything so that was really fun and then came
Back and kind of relaxed at home for a couple days but then I was really on the go with you know family sponsors and a couple prams that I played in too so uh it was a very busy offseason I I probably should have stayed put a little
Bit B more but you know my I feel like my life is just a plain seat in a hotel room so I might as well just keep doing it let’s talk about the afternoon exle yday oh yeah five well it’s a par four and unfortunately I had a third
Shot from about 100 yards there yesterday so that’s not good and today I had a second shot from about 160 so it’s a little bit better um but yeah no it it makes a huge difference I mean a whole like number one friend instance yesterday we were making the turn and
None of us got to the Green in two I mean we were all in the rough off the te but we all had 240 plus today I had a six iron in so um I think you kind of saw the same thing yesterday in the morning scores were a little bit better
There was less wind so the course was a little more manageable and this afternoon it’s probably going to be a little little bit tougher than this morning but the wind direction changed to where it wasn’t quite as bad I felt like some of the hard holes were into
The wind yesterday which made them even tougher so um win plays a huge Factor on Island Golf and when you can get it without win that’s when you can take advantage of your opportunities so it was nice to be the first group out this morning fresh greens and make a lot of
Birdies that was fun you e go the ninth hole for the second D in a rad just talk about that hole and you know scoring points uh on that one yeah we need more of those holes out here I I wish there was 18 number nines um because I’d be like 49
Under so that’d be cool um but no uh yeah it’s a straightaway par five and I’ve hit good t- shots on it the last two days and with the wind where it is it’s playing almost shorter than the first hole which is a a par four so
I’ve had short IRS into that par five it’s one of those holes if you hit the Fairway you’re going to you know you’re going to have a good chance at an eagle if not hopefully a tap in birdie so um I don’t know I’ve had a couple 15-footers
Rolled them pretty much right in the middle so hopefully I can Eagle it the next two days too yeah no three birdies in a row that had to feel good on the back nine uh for you felt really good yeah I enjoyed that feeling no uh three
Birdies in a row is nice uh I came off a bogey and um you know I I was basically felt like the entire day I felt really good about my game when I made that bogey I was like I almost knew in my head I was going to bounce back and make
A birdie and drained a couple 25-footers and then stuck it close on 14 so um yeah and then really I had good looks on 15 and 16 too but can’t birdie them all um but I made a bunch of birdies and that was really nice now I kind of overheard
You talking about what you’re going to do after the round today so what were we going to do here yeah so I went on turo last night which is like a car like car airbnbs almost and um I was in bed and I it was like 9:30 it was probably way
Past my bedtime cuz I woke up at 4:00 this morning but but I was like I’m going to rent a car um so me and Dana who just dropped the phone we’re going to rent a car and uh drive around the island after this which would be fun and
