Bella Simoes – Golfer of the Week – April 29, 2022 – The Junior Tour Powered by Under Armour

This is the first video that Golf Prodigy Media ever shot, edited & produced!
And as far as golfing talent goes… we picked quite the golfing prodigy to kick things off!
Bella Simoes was just 8 years old when she sat down with us in 2022. Since this interview, Bella has gone on to win several dozens of more tournaments, including a few more National and World Championships! She also tried out for the US Women’s Open… at the age of 9!! (Something she promises to do in this video!!) Bella became the youngest player ever to attempt qualification to the US Women’s Open tournament.
I’m so proud of this video several different reasons. It was my wife Olga’s first day of conducting interviews, and she knocked it out of the park!
It was our first day shooting interviews on very unique equipment (I can’t give away all our trade secrets), and it turned out looking GREAT! (Proving less can be more!)
And I truly believe we captured an honest & genuine portrayal of the next great female golfing star… while she was just 8 years old.

Hi Bella hi do you prefer beating the boys or beating the girls beating the Boys yeah please tell me that I can’t that I won’t that I fail that I’ll never make it out yeah please tell me all the bad never good feel my head full of every single doubt yeah please say any negative thoughts I pop off when I hear people say I

Cannot let’s start with this fact Bella Samo is the most dominant 8-year-old golfer on the planet her accomplishments on the golf course are staggering 2 years ago Bella won her first US Kids World Championship as a 6-year-old beating out the best 7-year-old girls in the country how did you feel the first

Time that you you won your first world championship I was like oh my god did I really win when I made my last putt he was like oh my God good job and like what happened you didn’t even know I did not you were I swear I didn’t know and I

Was like okay I’ll just put this in he just playing yeah and he was like oh my God good job you’re a world champion like what what just happened then I enjoyed the crying there a lot of Tears yes happy tears happy tears happy tears are good then last summer as a

7-year-old she won worlds Again by nine Strokes what did you do after how did you celebrate every worlds I won I jumped in the lake and then this year after jumping in the lake I jumped at the pool W jumped out of the lake and right into the pool yes basically bella

Wins every tournament that she enters in 2021 she was the champion of the Texas open the Georgia state Invitational and the Florida state Invitational which she has won the past 2 years in a row b is also a back-to-back champ at the Jackal Island Regional and she’s earned first

Place trophies at the following regionals in the past year the PGA Invitational the holiday classic and the copperhead classic and last October Bella had a huge homecoming competing in the South American championship in her home country of Brazil she won that tournament by 19 Strokes and she’s

Hitting the ball she’s eight and she’s hitting 198 yards I mean almost 200 yards so in a year from now she’s going to be hitting 200 and something what’s going to be happening in two years now so you never know and Bella is unfaced by older competition as an 8-year-old

She’s currently the champion of the girls 11 to 12-year-old division of the South Florida PGA she was having fun she was she was loving the game I mean we can keep going and mention that she won the public stale championship at the end of 2021 and then started the 2022 season

By capturing the notay girls 10 to1 Regional qualif and I like feeding older people and this past weekend was truly epic for Bella on Saturday she shot an unbelievable 27 on her local us kids tour that’s nine under par for nine holes seven birdies one par and one

Eagle then the very next day Bella won the South Florida PGA event in the 11 to 12 year-old Division and um just a reminder she’s eight what are your goals for yourself what’s your future look like what do you want for yourself in golf be a professional golfer and to be

The number one in the world to win the Olympics whenn like many majors not a major not just one many yes is there any doubt that you’re going to do any of these things no I’m very sure in my life I carry this phrase that’s like practice

Makes perfect and the more you practice the more successful you’ll be and Bella has had success competing against the boys as well last summer as a 7-year-old on the junior tour powered by Under Armour she won the boys and girls 6 to 8-year-old Southeast Regional she won

And we we hug each other it was was amazing moment the end of the day lots of Tears lots of tears I mean we cried and and she cried a lot and it’s good it’s a good feeling amazing amazing 6 under par goes four under par today girl power our Southeast Regional

Champion Miss Bella [Applause] Samo and then later that Summer She was runner up at the junior tour powered by Under Armour national championships beating nearly a 100 boys in the field except one so with the junior tour powered by Under Armour you get to play with boys yes do you like that yes

Because I know I can play as good as them and for better and I like to challenge myself mhm yeah I like challenges I like to play with older boys too what’s so special about beating the boys cuz you like winning yes I love do like winning I love the challenge

Against the boys how do you think Bella feels beating the boys oh she feels great I mean we feel we all feel great I mean we have this this this girls group all the dads are like yes we be the boys I want the girls to like be

Successful to look up to you yes she’s competitive since the beginning she’s she’s always trying to be her best she’s always trying to train the most I practice 5 hours every day it’s amazing because she was four and she would stay 4 hours a day in a in a golf course you

Don’t see that very often and the next day you thought that she was she was just going to say I don’t want to go and she’s like I want to go it again you picked up a club at 2 years old yes I was on driving rain hting some balls and

Then we just saw her looking at it and we decided let’s give her a club so she can try a little bit and I was like please and he was like okay and then I liked it and then I went like two times a week and then I went more and more and

Then from their own sh every day on the golf course how old were you when you played your first tournament five did you win that one Yes and as the winds began to pile up Bella’s family knew they needed even more help so we decided to bring her more more stuff get get her the clubs get her the game get her the coach and she she was in for it so you’re not

Coach it aside no no no I’m not a coach uh I I play I play badly but I like it I played sport all my life but I wasn’t that that competitive what about your wife does she play too I tried but she she she she

Didn’t go for it so so it’s all Bella it’s all Bella Bella what is it about golf that you love so much well I like being around nature and making new friends and always like doing my best why do you think she loves the game so much what is it about golf the

Involvement of the family and all that and and all the traveling all meeting new new people going new places she just loves it I mean we’re traveling together we’re crying together cheering together everything is like a family thing what helps you prepare to do your best just

Be calm be positive mhm and and think about positive things like what good things you’re going to do today what’s your favorite thing to do to get ready for there’s like this music from Eminem that’s called Lose Yourself what happened when you lost your lucky ball

Marker I was like oh my God I need to find that come on did you find it no I did not I was like playing with it around and like putting it up and then I lost it that is the only loss Bella has experienced on the golf course recently

Not only has her father moved Bella from Brazil to Florida so she can compete more often we don’t have a lot of tournament in Brazil golf is not very big in Brazil we got to we got to do something if we want to for her to to

Succeed in golf she got to be new golfers and be new tournaments and everything so we decide to move to the US my wife is here I mean I’m back and forth I’m I still have my company in Brazil I’m back and forth he also surrounded her with a talented team to

Ensure the best golf training the only thing I can do is provide everything that she can be her best on the game yeah give her the tools and your daddy caddy as well right I’m daddy caddy some of the tournaments we have a caddy coming up Bruno Brazil Brazil I’m

Getting better I get too stressed on a on a golf course I prefer to watch it then than to be there in a because I suffer a lot because I know she can do it and then whenever I see She’s suffering she has to call for someone

For support when she does a bad shot I’m also the cadd and I’m also the person for support so in the middle of the game that’s hard to to to to to keep it apart that’s sometimes why we got we got Bruno we don’t talk about Bruno we don’t talk

About Bruno we don’t talk about do you play any other sports no now I saw you skiing when you went skiing yes did you get concerned or were your parents concerned that you might get hurt and then you can’t play golf yes my mom was like you can’t go down that

Mountain cuz if you hurt yourself you’re not going to play that tournament and I’m like okay I I won’t we have different coaches the coach from Brazil also said that we got to focus on on only golf like I said I played a lot of sports when I was young but I didn’t

Focus on any and I realized at the one point point that I wasn’t good on any of the sports but I could play all of them so I don’t know like I said there’s no right recipe for that what is it about the junior tour powered by Under Armour

That makes it special that sets it apart from the rest we played some some amazing courses we love it there was coed because Bella was playing in a in a high level it was great to have this this this challenge of playing against boys and the tour has grown Ray did an

Amazing job on the on the tour last tournament I think he had like almost 500 people 500 kids playing they’re going to do the worlds now in July live mhm and there’s people coming from all over and I think it’s going to be great do you guys talk about long-term goals

You want LPGA your bust or college scholarship there’s a dream the dream is to get her in the US Open I mean the record was 1112 I think uh luy Le and and Lexi Thompson I think that’s a dream getting her into the West open would be amazing the dream now I

Would say the the the US Open at the youngest age that’s a great goal that’s a dream that’s a great goal a goal and a dream is different I mean a goal is a is something you can do it and a dream is you might or might not I don’t want to

Put it as a goal because if you put it as a goal and you don’t do it then you might be disappointed on yourself but I don’t want to put it as a dream because I know that she can do it so your dad he

Said his dream is for you to play in the US Open when you’re 12 how do you feel about that when I’m in the US Open when I’m 12 I’m going to be very happy and I think you can do that yes me Too
