In the attempt to make UFC 300 more exciting than it actually is thus far, former UFC champ Michael Bisping broke down why Interimg Heavyweight champ Tom Aspinall fighting former champ Brock Lesnar is a good idea. It didn’t matter to Bisping that Brock Lesnar is already 46years old, he still thinks the WWE legend would be a massive box office draw. Also, Bisping seems to think that longevity in high contact sports such as combat or the NFL. In sports like the NBA or soccer, bonafide legends such as LeBron James or Cristiano Ronaldo are already considered veterans but they don’t get pummeled constantly for a living.
Here’s what Bisping said on his Youtube channel: “UFC 300, will we see Brock Lesnar on there again. It sounds stupid because Brock Lesnar is no spring chicken. He’s 46 years old, but remember Randy Couture fought on to the ripe old age of about 47. Fighters have gone on longer. Guess what? When there’s millions of dollars on the line, people will come and fight. And people would love to see Brock Lesnar stepping in there once again. Who would really push the needle in a massive way? Brock Lesnar. He’s only 46, he’s still a draw, people love him. The UFC and the WWE, they’re both owned by the same parent company now. So, I would imagine that the politics and the contractual stuff that would be pretty easy waters to navigate. I can’t see that being a hurdle. But who would the opponent be?”
Brock Lesnar is more than likely not even thinking about fighting in the UFC again, although he was one of the most watched athletes in the history of the organization. Regardless, the WWE legend is currently away from the limelight. However, Dana White is a known expert in negotiation and very few fighters have refused to play ball with him in the past. Tom Aspinall doesn’t want to wait much longer for Jon Jones to recover from his injury, he wants an opponent now. Perhaps veteran Brock Lesnar is a far out idea but there are many great fighters in the roster to get us all excited for Tom Aspinall’s next fight. Who wold you like to see him fight?
