I said H hoop and I have done a few shows in the past together we might have strategy for you when it comes to that but what are your first thoughts on this tournament just yeah ju just to verify because I know you’ve already done a couple shows now lenta and the the

Nicholas tournament course pretty similar in terms of how easy they are right and the those are both have always been the easiest stadium has got a little bit easier over the term but that is the two the people focus on for sure I I wasn’t crazy in thinking that so uh

In terms of this you know yeah you can play those angles if you think maybe one day wind impacts one of the courses it doesn’t you know I think it’s totally Inplay to go ahead and you know Stack Up and build teams of the guys starting on

The the same course am I going to do that uh this week no I mean I’m just going to play my guys and go from there you know where we can gain the advantage is in The Showdown streets especially uh on a day like Saturday round three where

All the big names typically play the uh Stadium Course and when people go and build their Showdown teams they’re still going to want exposure to those big end guys and they are at a little bit of a disadvantage so round three is key obviously we have content on our site

For round two three and four so we have you covered in that department in terms of building out teams for me personally I’m just going to build them out um and not necessarily Factor who’s starting where who’s doing but you can do it I mean maybe it works I don’t know but

It’s not going to be for me this week the one thing that that definitely stands out in this field is we have the you know some of the big boys back uh we have sheffler we have Xander we have Klay your boy sunjay pretty expensive at

101 I think that’s a good talking point then you got the guys like JT you got the the guys that kind of struggled a little bit uh Ricky in in Tony F now and then it does fall off you get in the 6K range I was trying to find my guys in

The 6K range to talk about before the show and I mean I went down there it gets it gets tough I mean there’s not too much down there but everyone gets 54 holes this is very unique because a lot of times we either get the um the 36

Hole cut or you get no cut events this is in between so it’s kind of like a pseudo no cut everyone’s guaranteed the three so I think you can be a little more aggressive with those teams when you’re building them for that reason everyone’s going to get at least three

Rounds and then make the cut and then everyone plays the stadium of course whoever made the cut uh for for round four so you know it’s nice to see some of these names I’d say back in the mix this week and you know excited to talk

About it’s a fun event and this starts um you know it seems like every event from here on out just continues to get a little bit better leading up to the the Masters obviously there’s going to be a couple crappers in there along the way

But this is always a fun one birdie Fest I mean the scores are going to be very very low you got to make a ton of birdies I think this was the course last year where John Rah got all and I don’t know if it was last year when he said

Minus two cut last week kept me from a big week all my good teams were minus three and up it’s frustrating for sure when that happens this week we’ll see how it goes but it’s going to be uh a good event like hoop said it is a proam

So keep in mind longer rounds and then also a pin placement like Mayo was talking about earlier today if you didn’t get a chance to watch it they just set those pins up so guys that just fire at pins fire away it’s going to be all you know this everybody going at it

No matter what three full rounds you can go with the Stars and scrubs approach but the interesting part when we get to the tiers and dropping down is there’s not like 7,400 and down there’s definitely names there that you’ll want to play but it feels a little bit

Condensed right now and there’s not a lot that people are falling in love with where you know you do love your teams down there you’re gonna have to play your guys or take your stands and get different that way anything else you want to add who before we hop into this

Upper tier well I mean we definitely have a pretty big advantage on the show I mean with this being the proam format I mean we do have a previous proam player you know live on on the air so I mean that that’s definitely leg up uh

For for uh in in regards to uh the analysis here today I think he’s in the field your boy chess he’s down there at 71 is also in the field yes he’s in the field him and our boys you know about his proam his proam status and what he

Can do in those tournaments so we’ll have to wait and see won won’t be won’t be talking about this guy sorry byebye that story’s done he had his 15 seconds of Fame Michael block hit hit it hit the block buddy you’re done so let’s move on

Let’s go to this upper tier we got sunjay you you made fun of my guy said he’s too expensive at 10-1 all the way up to the uh the guy Scotty Sheffer at 114 so Scotty Xander Klay sunj talk to me about this range up top it definitely

Wasn’t a shot but it is a a higher price tag than we’ve recently seen on a guy like sunj definitely not a shot because I do have some interest but uh the sheffler price definitely stands out at 114 just could be way higher I think in

In my opinion like 114 is just an extreme value for for Sheffer in this field he’s basically what like 5 to one five and a half to one to win the event typically guys with odds that thin we see in the 12K range 114 I think is just

Way too cheap for Scotty and early indication in terms of ownership is that it’s not going to be too crazy and if that’s the case like man I just got to take a massive overweight approach on a guy like Scotty it’s gonna be able it’s gonna be relatively easy to play

Multiple of these guys if you want uh Chef or shle comes in uh $500 cheaper um I think he might be the one that potentially getss a little bit squeezed here in the in this range um because Klay has really good course history he is $100 which it’s not a big difference

But I think people click Klay over Xander uh because of the course history and how well Klay has played here and then you have sunjay who comes in quite a bit cheaper I mean a $700 discount down to sunjay um you know since we’ve started doing these shows I don’t know

If you remember last year you know I’ve I’ve always enjoyed playing sunjay like I he’s a guy Ty Al look to but a lot of times last year I got on them because you supported them and you you went through a sunj stretch last year where

That was your boy I played him quite a bit at 10-1 I think he has a chance to again it’s not going to be like low ownership but I think a lot of people in this range just end up trying to get to Scotty which makes sense and I want to

Do as well but I want to get some pieces of sunjay I want to get some uh KL and I want to get some shle I just don’t think for me personally this is the spot where I’m going to take my stands like I’m going to get exposure to these guys up

Here and we always talk about and you do a good job of it where it’s like all right you know you don’t have to make the big fade but if you come down low maybe that’s where you make your um your your differences in your lineups and

Whatnot so I want to be on these guys I think they all have the the winning upside um I think again though that Xander has the is the one that could potentially get squeezed in this range because a lot of people are going to want Scotty and then people are going to

Want the the can’t Lake course history and sunjay is is enough of a discount off a can’t lay where people can still make that work so I think Xander might might might get a little bit squeezed up here yeah sj’s history is pretty incredible too it’s just always 10th

11th 12th 18 like he’s always been right in the mix so I think people like that our projections early on again we put out our initials on Tuesday most the industry comes out on Wednesday but just to note it is that like Scotty definitely does pop off the page the

Note that goes with that though is while he projects for a bunch more he drops you right away to 7.7k right for your other five spots I think a lot of people will feel comfortable and that you were right and Xander will get squeezed because if you pop down to can

You’re only getting a little bit more but that that money adds up quickly from like your $6,700 guy it’s really only one spot like Let Me Explain real quickly what I mean if you go to Scotty here and we’ll get to some of these guys

Later but let’s just go down to some of the ones people were talk like today mayo and I were talking about like Sam Ryder uh Alex SMY and EVR like you got 8.3 now you can get away with that no problem but a lot of people are ending

Up if they want multiple 8K guys or they want to get a Taylor or sorry not a tor Eric Cole or a JT Poston or something like that guys that project well that stand out there and that’s why the ownership’s going to be there it means

That they’d have to go down to the 6K range and I think if people don’t want to trust a Tyler Duncan or a Matthew neith or something like that let’s just say they don’t want to go there the easiest way to not have to go there is

Just to do this and still get a pretty good projection you’ve got can’t lay stuff obviously looks good A ninth second ninth he was 26 year last year but he’s been fine he can Puck good on this course all the stuff that we see happen here where this still works and

Now look what you’ve got left over now you can essentially play that Poston lineup that I was just talking about as long as you just bring van royan down but you you’d still be able to stay in the seven so I think Klay does get bumped up I think Scotty stays in check

Here and I think enough people still get the sunjay he still does pop quite a bit more than this 9k range so do you think many people go like this like mayo and I play a new game where we we now today we turned it into a draft against each

Other I ended up getting away with a Klay sunj lineup against but I did have to punt to Matthew Smith to make it you know make sense nothing wrong with that he love hate love hate except when you don’t I remember that I won’t forget it

That guy just literally blew you up I think that was uh man it it might be like oh no it was a it was in March it was early March yeah Valero valo it was Valero yeah I remember because the same week I ended up doing well with Sam

Burns winning in the playoff over Davis Riley remember it was we needed that down the so yeah that was a good week for me it was still a good week for you you want MMA and you want other stuff too but that that guy neith went off in

The bad conditions and shot like a nine under somehow and that will happen when we get to The Showdown segment which we’ll talk about near the end but just to bring it up like so um you can get away with this though right hoop like still 7.3 there’s there’s guys that you

Got down there that we’re going to get to when we get there so do you think you’ll build more lineups like this or do you think you’ll be more inclined just to pick one from up top uh I want teams with with both if if not every

Team obviously but I do want some combinations of of two guys up top because you can make it work and you are getting the guaranteed 54 holes and bl and you know one thing to to consider when you’re thinking about that like these guys are getting to three rounds

In the full 150 with you know 40,000 people or 80,000 whatever it is like you shouldn’t be building with that mindset like all right these guys get you know all three rounds because they still have to do something but if you’re playing like single entry contest or smaller

Field contest I think you can more so get away with not being perfect with those punts and just take more chances so it’s you know just something in my mind that I’m going to kind of focus on moving forward is the smaller field stuff you can take more of those chances

In the big large field stuff you you have to be perfect so you know taking the chances and building teams super aggressively you still need those guys those cheap guys those punts to to do something uh at the end of the day they’re going to have to be in the top

20 and it depends too how The Stadium Course plays on Sunday because we definitely see guys Go reverse on Sunday where you could see some five of six lineups where they’re still in good shape as long as your guy that missed the cut had you know a spike round or

Something really solid there with some Eagles or some streaks or things like that that mix in so it’s definitely possible and our Guy Greg comes right at the gate hot imagine not trusting T dunks we had that conversation on the Mayo show earlier we’ll get there on

This one early on though like again the the sunj stuff price is up there uh he did set the birdie record by the way the last time he he played so that you mean he can make birdies in bunches it could be more than enough I think if you

Started with him and left those other three guys out it’s not going to be super unique but at least you can do a lot more with your lineups like there’s a ton of flexibility if you can just feel that it’s sunjay over those guys I

Prefer Klay as of right now but just of note I do think it’s interesting doing that I also went with this build reason uh this build setup for a reason when I was on the show with mayo because I think Klay and him both have a lot going

For them at this course they both have a strong history Xander will go overlooked so he’s the guy but look depends on what you think like you know you look at him uh third here last time is really the only good result for him the only good

Time that he’s even played it in the last seven years or whatever so uh if you want to go with it for that reason it reminds me a little bit of going with Fitz for last week I played a little Fitz for the leverage I’m gonna do the

Same here with Xander it’s only a couple points projection he’s a similar golfer to Klay could definitely do it again and come third or win or whatever but it it can also backfire and it could just be the guys around him and if Scotty gets held in check you can really get some

Good leverage on Scotty up top two so uh the main takeaway against Scotty I guess hoop is that you know his ball striking is always on it’s just he’s going to have to have that putter because you know everyone’s going to be firing at pins here it’s going to be who’s making

The putts and you’re paying a premium of 114 for him he also forces you to sacrifice quite a bit within your lineup overall yeah uh the I I wish they put him at like 12K or something like 114 is just like I I I know it like doesn’t

Seem like a big difference but someone like him 5 to one should be like much more expensive but again though it’s not like looking like it’s going to be any sort of crazy ownership it’s not like it’s going to get to it’s not like it’s going to get to 35 or something early

Indications are in the mid 20s and um for me that’s just too low for a guy like like Scotty um but yeah you’re right though he’s got to make some of these damn putts and it is frustrating when he misses those you know short ones and can never get anything to fall he’ll

Have to make some I think he does so yeah I’m okay with that let’s move on let’s go to this 9k range you got uh Chris Kirk who it’s an interesting topic between him and Poston because I I again I was talking about this earlier but I

Thought this one did stand out to me of like Poston has that huge round on Sunday he’s been playing great anyway so it’s not to take away from him saying he definitely went extremely low on Sunday Kirk did nothing on Sunday but Kirk still played well the first three days

Especially coming off of a win he’s still been pretty good here if you look up Kirk here third last year miscut the year before that but then it was a 16th like his two of his last three years pretty solid results here he’s at 9k it’s not like you’re going up and paying

10K or 101 or something like that so go the uh the 9k range starting bottom up who are some of the guys that stand out to you in this range yeah I think honestly for me it’s one of the more clear-cut ranges in terms of what I want

To do how much I Expos I want to get to guys the guys on playing the guys on Fading um Kirk and Poston I’ll just be on them both I mean you know I don’t necessarily need to make especially I mean if you’re bu single if you’re hand

Building or just building one team and and you have to make the decision for me personally it’ be a tough one I would probably lean Poston maybe I don’t know like I like both These Guys these are two of my boys guys I play every week so I I don’t

Want make that decision but I’m in on both in in 150 I think they’re both great plays poston’s playing well Kirk’s playing well 9k 91 uh you can easily make it work uh the next two guys I hope their name brings ownership because I’m gonna be off of them Ricky and and and

Feno Rick’s been playing bad for a while and we really haven’t seen signs of him turning around like he had a great season last year no doubt about it but he fell off at the end and hasn’t really recouped he’s gonna have to show me something before I get back on him Fe

Now the results just have not been great fine being off him and then Sam Burns just to me is not an even in this field is not a 99.4k guy like I just don’t think he’s very good and uh I think everyone around him is better he’s like

My least favorite guy in this range at 94 easy fade you have minu Lee at 9500 got winning upside I mean the guy has winning upside which is what you want the price you know 95 we’re not typically used to paying the 95 for Min

W Lee but uh I’m in on him I like him and again when he’s on he has the chance to win events which is what you want Jason day fade for me at 96 I won’t be playing him and then I will get some JT just honestly the the reason I’m playing

JT is it’s maybe this is the year he turns it around and I want to be ahead of the curve if it is like last year sucked for him it was a terrible I’d say embarrassing season for him um but I want to be I want to be on him a little

Bit in the hopes that he is able to turn it around he’s just too good I think too talented uh to go back-to-back Seasons playing so so poorly and then Tom Kim um at at 99 again the price is a little higher than you want to pay for Tom Kim

But uh I like Tom Kim here and I’m going to be on him so I mean this range again it’s clear it’s Tom Kim JT minwu uh Poston and Kirk and and I feel pretty good about fading the other guys yeah I wonder if how do you think the ownership

Shakes out with IM at 101 and Tom Kim at 9900 when when the week goes on I mean we got the early projections in there right now somewhere around the the likes of uh Tom being around 13 to 14 and sunj being closer to you know 17 to

Because top it’s like a decision where someone said here earlier you can almost look atj as if he’s in that 9k range because it’s such a big gap between him and the guys above but I do think there’s a possibility that uh Tom gets a little bit squeezed and people just drop

To the minwoo um JT Poston and Kirk plays down below and then of course the 8K is got guys that’s gonna be popular as well yeah if I had to guess right now what Tom Kim’s ownership is uh I’m gonna I’m going to take the under on the

Number you gave I think he could be like nine or 10% to be honest just because I know I know people are playing sunjay for sure over him and I know people are playing Justin Thomas for sure over him um I think Tom has a real chance similar

To Xander up top to get to get squeezed so you can invert too like we had Justin Thomas closer to 10 right now Tom Kim closer to 13 you could probably just flip those and say more people are gonna go to JT because of that I mean the one

Thing there is that he’s got like no history it’s just people thinking he’s going to turn it around versus Tom Kim played here last year and got sick so I think that’s what people again i’ I’ve heard a lot of people talk about Tom Kim

So we’ll see what happens with I know a lot of people bet him as well I got him early he came out at like 28 to1 so a lot of people bet that now he’s down somewhere closer to some places even 18 to1 21 to1 like I’ve seen different

If you don’t want to play some of these guys in here that you’re uncomfortable with what’s one way that you can avoid that well when you got 8K left here you can play the couple that you feel comfortable with and then land in the 8K range which we’re about to get to now

Anyway so it is a way to get different and then you just need these guys at the top not to absolutely Crush you and Destroy You easier said than done but at least it’s noted right that these guys have been playing good golf Poston and Kirk they’re playing the same courses

They’ve been playing good golf they already just played in Hawaii and played pretty well like there there’s opportunities here to get there so it just depends on what you like and then Devon brings up a good point like yeah certain guys you got to consider this

To this guy no matter what build you do if you start with him if you got a different guy you like above him like Cole can be used anyway possible we currently have him sitting somewhere around 22 is the estimate estimate on him but I definitely think that there is

An opportunity where he ends up much higher in some of the higher dollar smaller field stuff so did you have any added thoughts on him if not we can move on to this upper 7K range yeah I mean upper sevens uh it does fall off quick I

Don’t anybody else here in this upper 7K range hoop so take me into this next one this is where I said it gets a little bit dicey at least for me so maybe you can convince me but honestly this is maybe my fourth Golf Show and I still

Don’t really have a set in stone thing here for like the tier rankings on 7400 and all the way right to the bottom my friend like everybody I know we’re going to do it one range at a time but let me just count there is 117 golfers

In this range and I probably as of right now couldn’t tell you my three favorite because even the ones that kind of stand out and pop off the page are popular and for whatever reason like Alex SMY pops off the page but he’s popular so I don’t

Probably the reason why it becomes a little bit difficult because you’re going to have to embrace some of these guys 74 and below and like you said man it is not a fun feeling and you get down here and you really got to sell yourself on these guys there’s nothing that’s

Like all right that’s jumping off the page and says I want to play this guy you really have to start to sell yourself when you come down here on these these guys and make the case for them um you know for me I’ll I’ll rattle off a few names that are interesting I

Seems to make a lot of eagles um so I’m always in on hubard 72 Sam ryer 72 uh Sam Stevens played well last week at uh 7200 can he do it again maybe again you’re you’re just selling yourself when you get down here chest at 71 yeah I’ll

Play some chest again it’s more of a personal thing than anything else I mean that’s my boy so I mean I’m gonna be in on in on some chessen um kazy seven uh 7K flat again another guy that played well last week finished 13th I’ll take some chances I’ll definitely play some

Kazy and then I’m gon want to play some higo at 7K again similar to the hubard stuff I kind of just always play higo he’s one of my guys um so you know higo kazy uh Hadley Stevens Ryder hubard eot U those are probably my favorites and

Again I don’t know how much I’ll have of these guys but it does really fall off quickly and again you’re trying to sell yourself on these guys nothing’s really jumping off the pages this guy’s a great play do do you have any like are you at all scared of like playing multiples of

Them together like how many of those guys that you just listed could you put into a lineup together that you feel good about yeah probably just like two and those would be you know more Scotty sheffler type teams more two 10K type teams like you know ideally you don’t

Come down here because it falls off then it falls off even more when we get to the 6K range so yeah like of BU yeah no no C that’s what I want that’s what I want to ask you because if you go just one more and I’ll pop them out in a

Second but let’s just say you you picked some of the guys you really like I know you always like hubard you you like your boy Hadley and let’s just say this is the way to get to Scotty you got 8.6 here I mean you can make a lineup like

This skip the 9ks all together and and skip the 6ks and still and even the tens and get something unique this way you can balance it out by taking Scotty out of it you can do a couple different things but even if you go against that

And say look my boys are Hadley hovered and that’s gonna help me get to Scotty you can still get away with quite a bit because then you could still get your Co in yeah and have tons of stuff right you can you can take I like something like

That yeah uh I mean yeah you’re just embracing you know more risks the more guys you play on you know I think there is a pretty distinct drop off at at like the 74 price range so the more guys you put in a lineup below 74 I think you’re

Embracing more risk now it’s PGA DFS the variance is is very high we talked about it ton we talked about it uh in the education course a lot the variance of PGA DFS so like you’re just embracing more of that variance more of that risk but it can certainly certainly pay off I

Mean no none of those guys in the upper sevens are slam dunk like half to play type guys but they are to me substantially better than the seven4 and Below guys yeah that’s kind of thing and you got to be comfortable feeling uncomfortable we talk about this all the

Time because if you can do that like you said you don’t even have to jump in I mean I’ll pick my favorites by the end of the week but just saying it like you said if it is a Sam Stevens a Sam Ryder you go Sam squar and then you like

Hubard you can do whatever you want at that point you just need to be comfortable with at least two of these guys and then hope that the third guy comes along for the ride and maybe it’s the two of the three and you still get a

Decent enough score out of the other one to squeak a cut and get a six to six that way but I would not be setting any rules like that as far as that question was like I wouldn’t set that rule no like you can definitely get away with it

And there’s actually going to be people that definitely are fine with lineups like this like Tyler Duncan I mean mayo and I built them today back to our guy Ren where where’s he at here he said uh at least Mayo likes EVR someone loves me

I I will have EVR lineups this week only because Mayo forced me to build them on the show today and I always throw those into something so I I’m not going to let them go to waste but just saying that like if you you don’t you wouldn’t set

That rule up like look at this you go here you go um EVR and you go who are we using today SMY it’s the same 9.5k we were just at with the three low 7K guys it’s definitely more ownership I think on these guys by the end of the week

Because these are the ones that people feel more comfortable with but just to say it like you can easily get away with this and if these guys hit you have a ton of possibilities you can go 28ks and then pop up you can go 2 10ks and pop

Down there is this all kinds of places you can go for roster construction we’ll probably have a more clear idea by the end of the week but I definitely don’t hate that call some of the guys like I said that people already know about but

Like the um Ben Griffin was the guy that we talked about both mayo and I talked about him uh KH Lee SMY Bez was the guy that got mentioned in there who else Mark hubard who you brought up mattye Schmid and matu pavon were guys that mayale liked there that I thought were

Interesting as well pav pavon played well last week right he was he was up there yeah and and if you go look at his stuff it’s it’s realistic events he wasn’t playing in like nobody events he was playing in DP World Tour events with strong Fields getting top 10 in those so

Definitely don’t hate that call I guess I don’t I didn’t like it at first as thinking of more like chasing but when you do look that it doesn’t look like he’s coming with as much ownership maybe he is a guy that you could pop in here you mentioned uh Hadley could pop off

Here uh Doug gim always capable of going low and we’ve seen him pop up I believe Doug gim usually pops up at TPC sass which is the spot where again we’re on a TBC course maybe that’s what it is I thought Doug gim popped up at the

Players usually I could be talked into some Doug gim but oh man it’s yeah it’s been rough for a boy let me just see here real quick on this one so better on these putting surfaces as well that’s one thing to note for him and then you go

Different ways that you can build this lineup out and there’s other guys that you can plug in instead but I do think hoop the more the week goes on that does make sense I think still as much as we just proved you can make those Scotty lineups no problem I think people feel

Less comfortable with that so unless that’s what the optimizer is giving them I think anybody hand building will feel better about landing on some sort of combination even if it is only one of these guys to get to like a canl you still can do something with it like you

Can see where it’s going to be three to four upper to Mid 7K guys right that’s kind of the build you see early on yes I do and I just going through and yeah I just ran teams and just to see kind of where we’re at and you do get a lot of

Scotty but the 6K guys start to pop up at a very high rate that pretty uncomfortable right I’d say so just blindly running teams you know based on the projections you’ll get a lot of Scotty but the 6K guys are following along right behind them so it makes it

You know know pretty risky but again at the end of the day Scotty’s too cheap at 114 and you know I think we just need to make it work yeah and you can argue too that if you can get the the right 6K guys in there uh they get the same amount of

Rounds as the 7K guys until they don’t I mean if they miss the cut they don’t get it and those guys do but there is opportunity with that as well if you could just skip the sevenk range that would be something that would be unique also any final Thoughts From You hoop on

You handle that situation because makes it tough and it’s fun for Showdown yeah it’s an interesting dynamic because first off the stadium course it when you you stack it up against these other two courses is more difficult but it’s still not a very difficult course right it’s

Still an easy course and these guys are the best golfers in the world they can overcome playing on the third most difficult course out of three but again it’s not a hard course in terms of PGA difficult difficulty so these guys can easily tear tear it up so it is an

Interesting Dynamic for sure I mean there is no doubt about it it does make it interesting because the guys that are playing there Saturday can overcome it you can leave a crap ton of salary on the table and just fade them and just say you know what I think the winners

Coming from these other courses do that sort of thing but it’s going to be hard to spend all your salary if you do uh fade those guys so it is an interesting Dynamic we’ll obviously have you covered we’ll have our content up with our cores player pool uh all that sort of thing

But it’s it it makes it interesting for Showdown yeah I like it quite a bit the other two days like obviously when you just have those good players on those easier courses I’m G to focus on that but I said to Mayo like I almost can

Treat it like a 5-1 like we do in football for Showdown where it’s like on Saturday I’m gonna still be fine with Scotty on The Stadium Course especially if he’s playing well or whoever of that Bunch if it’s kid Xander they’re having a really good tournament so far two days

In I got no problem mixing them in with some of the other guys guys on the other courses and just getting your scores that way whereas most people usually try to avoid it and everyone says oh everyone’s following everything now they know what you’re doing it’s not the case
