In except Rory uh and so those are the people that are normally going to be in these elevated events that we see you know once twice a month basically until the summer the issue I had is it’s you know this is a pretty big event it had all the stars that the PGA

Has it felt like it was lacking star power to me it felt like for the first time you know last year I don’t think and it’s not all John ROM leaving but that’s a big part of it like I don’t miss John ROM just as a singular person

But you take away John ROM you take away Dustin Johnson you take away Brooks Kea you take away Bryson dambo you take away young guys who look like they were on their way like a Wen Nan like a Meo Pereira like a Taylor gu you got villains like Patrick

Reed this the first time I watched an event where I was like wow I really really feel like we’re missing a lot of stars and it’s not even as close to a good of a watch as it can be I don’t know if it’s recency biased because of

Because of ROM leaving and because of the fact that maybe these two entities are going to join back up together and I’m and that’s what I really want but to me like it didn’t seem I mean like for the Gambler for the degenerate okay yeah it was great because one thing I noticed

About um the event was it looked like there was like 20 people that were in the lead at some point in time during the event so for for like a for like a gambling sweat or a gbb sweat it was a lot of fun right I mean you had Benny on

Up there at one point he had viegas up there at one point you know he had all English was near the lead and you know all it felt literally felt like a like a dozen to 15 guys who had the lead at some point in time it was a lot of fun

But like just from a star Factor like we watch golf week in and week out because we Gamble and we do our thing but like the normal fan they go out they want to see the stars they want to see the best of the best and I think this is the

First time where you watch an event these are the best of the best in the PGA Tour and it felt like something was missing felt like there wasn’t enough star power maybe Rory would have been enough it’s possible if Rory came in and he played that event Maybe

And that might have changed my feeling uh a little bit but like all the big time personalities are gone they’re not they’re not in the PTA anymore and and in hurts and I I don’t know what to do I mean I’m still gonna watch I’m still G

Now I would guess that the majority of people watching and listening to this right now disagree with me and that’s fine good good then you don’t feel the way I feel it’s great okay because if everyone felt the way I felt it would be a big [ __ ] problem right um but this

Is just my opinion on this first event and I don’t know man I’m hoping that this changes maybe because it was such a birdie Fest you know like maybe because it was just a hidden giggle you know maybe maybe that was the reason why uh maybe when we get to more difficult

Courses when we get to the you know the these top tier courses that have elevated events it’ll feel different maybe that’s what I’m hoping but man it just it felt like it was lacking this past week and it was the first time since the whole [ __ ] went crazy that I actually

Felt that way about a PGA Tour event uh what did you think tampo I mean did you have any feelings about that yeah I think uh you know thr we’re doing the comment run throw throw that in your comment as well when you put your winner

Disagree on that but I think that does this matter keny I have to ask you this because if you look at the board we’ll get again give Chris Kirk his props incredible stuff the journey he’s been back on on getting back into things and now just tearing it up again and getting

Another win awesome but like theala spe is a big name spe was definitely in the mix he had his chances after his double bogey on three on day one when discords declared him dead which I put the PSA out about this week he came back all the

Way but does this matter that when you drop down to T5 through T12 you’ve got Colin morawa Scotty Sheffer Xander chafl Patrick Klay if you want to give love to Jason day or t Hatton or any of those guys does that matter like imagine on Sunday if instead of Chris Kirk the gala

Benny an M nothing against those are some of my favorite guys I love Benny Anne I love sunj everybody knows that theala is the man love him like does it matter though if you flipped the board and on Sunday we would have had morawa spe Xander Sheffer and canay battling it

Out down the stretch I understand what you’re saying but the issue is you know if those golfers if Bryson Kea the golfers that I listed that off Li if they they played in this event the likelihood that the the top of the board would be Kirk the gala and

On it could still happen but it would be a lot less likely right it would just be less likely was my next yeah that was my next point though what you said about the birdie Fest is that’s the other angle is that is what ends up happening

Some cases in this and it goes both ways don’t forget everyone declared the open was just a complete write off why cuz Brian Harman got hot and it’s a tough track to beat and so when somebody gets hot like that and goes was it the open

Or yeah it was the Open The clar Jug the The Jug to match the little siiz man that we always make fun of that The Hobbit that that kind of made sense so I guess that would be the other way to look at it right Kenny sometimes in a

Strong field tougher course you can have the same look look at the year of the open when it was again this was exciting because we had a Twan race but the weather came in at where we’ll be going this year Royal trun we had uh stedson and mikkelson besides the fact that

Those two actually battled till near the very end that would have sucked if it was just the boat race for Stenson and like Stenson or Melon you you had Phil you had Phil there which was the most popular player in golf but but I’m saying even if Phil had been on his own

And ran away with it you can only give so much credit at least it was Phil at the time and everything but at the same time from a fan perspective view where you’re like ah it’s awesome that it’s Phil when people liked him a lot back

Then I know some people still love him that’s fine but my my point would be at least that has some something to it like this is the challenge when you get to a birdie fest going the other way it makes it tough because these guys can all just

Go nine under get into the mix on Saturday and then on Sunday if they throw the same nine under up they’re right there at the top and so that’s kind of how this looks I guess that would be my other takeaway last one would be the guys like Neiman and aner

And G and all those guys you mentioned I will speak on that quickly because they they do matter I think and again people will say whatever they want about this I don’t care my take on them is that well we do have budding Stars if you want to

Call them of people that are upand comers that are going to get into the mix it’s still a matter matter of time like it still takes time besides a guy like ludvig who’s like a once in a while talent that you get sure that’s awesome that’s great he disappeared off the

Board unfortunately this weekend baa same thing awesome to see him up there on Saturday disappeared but still these guys are literally just starting to build their name out there with those guys we had an established name it wasn’t to where we need to get them but

It was like it was com now we’re getting like sunjay is back we’re going to talk about sunjay and see wo in a minute here by the way too but just to to get to all of it some of these guys that are getting into the mix the gala we got a

Little more burn with them we feel better about that so when they’re getting up there it’s starting to make everyone says next man up I agree it’s golf like there is always going to be somebody else that’s awesome that comes out that’s great but what I’m trying to

Say is when you had established dudes like aner Neeman gu whatever and everyone just wants to say they suck now say what you want we’ll see at the majors again but the point is I think they’re just fine and it would be much nicer to have them in the mix as well

Than just have it you know we want to we got to get to this solution to get this alleviated so we can just get everybody back that’s all it comes down to I’m just hoping this is the one week thing and I just was being an idiot I don’t

Know I mean like it’s just the way I felt it was the first time I felt like this about an event watching it and I didn’t like it I I didn’t like the ceiling I had all right so uh before we get into this week anything else nope

Before man I think we’re good to roll all right let’s go let’s go into the Sony Open as you can see I’m wearing my Hawaiian Garb now I bought this about 15 years ago so the buttons are literally screaming like off my chest right now

Like if I if I sneeze I’m I’m pretty sure the button’s going to fly out and hit my camera and cracking so hopefully I do not sneeze uh but we are in our second leg uh in Hawaii so the PTA stour stays in Hawaii this week um as Yi

Country Club one of my favorite games uh for the for Nintendo 64 way back in the day plays host to the Sony Open U just a few Trends before we get into uh the event um five winners here only five winners in their 20s since the year 2000

Russell Henley in 2013 JT in 2017 cam in 2020 decky 2022 SE W last year now here’s the thing what you notice a lot of that happened recently uh you know so these young guys are just different now they they they they’re so much better in

Talent uh than they used to these 20 somethings can ball out uh so I don’t know how much I’ll look into that Trend but it’s definitely a trend only five golfers since 20 since 2000 have won this event that were aged in their 20s right but again uh next one 17 of the

Last 25 winners are here played the week before at the Tournament of Champions now looking at that Tournament of Champions usually has a really strong field it’s usually like the best golfers that play that event year in and year out so it doesn’t surprise me that a lot

Of them stay a lot of them play the Sony and a lot of them come back and win that’s that’s a pretty pretty pretty normal type thing now I don’t think it’s going to be something that you really have to now here’s the thing I don’t think something that you have to really

Look at I would look more at like course history instead of how they did uh last week or if they didn’t play last week now the one thing I will say in cash you’re probably gonna stick with guys who played last week because you just

Don’t know uh what these guys did um in the uh in the uh in December you know how much work they got now this correlates with the next Trend where this is the second sticky course when it comes to course history on the PGA tour behind Augusta now I think I was

Listening to Andy LAX podcast uh this morning um and he was he made a really good point uh about why he thinks that’s the case and he thinks that’s the case because you could tell guys who consistently grind in it during the break and they and that’s why they come

Out Sony open’s always the first event of the year the first real event of the year so it makes sense that the guys who continually grind in the off season do well in the first event compared to guys who maybe take a little bit time off I

Thought that was a really good point by Andy and I think that makes a lot of sense and that’s why you see like a lot of the same guys playing well at this course year in and year out some that you don’t even think would fit in the

Course fit type bowling Ryan Palmer like this guy plays well here every year right he doesn’t look like the guy that would that would typically be in top of your model on a course like this but maybe he goes on grinds every December and works his ass off comes here in his

First event and it pays off uh he’s not as uh Rusty as the other guys I think that I think Andy makes a good point in that um I don’t know if that’s the real reason why but I don’t think we’ll really ever know what the real reason

Why the course history is still so sticky here but I think that was a good Point um now let’s get to the course y l it’s about a 7,000 yard plus uh par 70 four par 3es 12 par fours two par five which are both reachable par five two of

The easiest on tour um uh two two of the easiest on tour five of the par Force range from 400 to 450 yards and another five range from 400 50 to 500 yards but only two of them are over 460 yards so you’re looking at like eight holes between 400 and 460 uh

That’s what you’re going to see you’re also going to see a couple of shorter par fors under 400 the 10th it’s close to driveable but I don’t seen many people breaking out the big dog and driving it down there um now the par 3es are shortish uh but they’re tough and

They range from 170 yards to 210 yards uh the course is set up you know right next to monola Bay which could cause windy conditions uh if the wind is down of course not too difficult to score on uh the weather report as of now says

That lych could gust from 20 to 35 miles per hour during the first three rounds with much calmer conditions Sunday now I’m looking at the weather forecast at 555 on a Monday afternoon so you know [ __ ] can change now if the wind uh now if we do see consistent 20 to 30 mile

Per hour wins you could see like a similar score of like 2020 when cam Smith won at, um if the wind doesn’t blow or if it’s just you know average I would expect the winning score close to minus 20 uh now off the te golfers are going

To see above average size Tree Line Fairways that are firm flat and fast with buckers in play on a few holes and water only a factor on two holes the fast firm Fairways make this a difficult course to get your drive on the short grass um like people think these like

Fairies are super skinny they’re not necessarily like the the narrowest fairways on tour I mean they they’re they’re above average uh with total width now the problem is why people miss so many Fairways is the roll out here pretty it rolls out ball rolls out a lot

And you you have the uneven Fairways not as uneven as last week but still uneven enough where you could take a bad bounce and roll into the rough to the first cut really really easy um especially the longer you hit your Club off the team because a lot of these holes they sort

Of end and they have that little dog L either right or left so if you hit it straight and it goes through the fair go through the Fairway into the rough and that’ll H or a bunkers you’ll see that happen a lot uh now uh two of the toughest

Fairways to hit on tour are actually on this course which is crazy because last week you know one of the easiest uh Fairways to hit guys hitting homeway hitting a 47 75 yard drive out there you know it’s some wild stuff but uh you know the two hardest Fairways to hit on

This course are the 18th which has been the hardest Fairway to hit on the PGA tour since 2012 about 30% uh Fairway hit race the 13th Hall is the fifth hardest Hairway Fairway to hit on tour since 2012 only about 38% hit the Fairway there now the Rough Around

The Fairway normally hasn’t been particularly high but he has been gnarling now the rough is actually up from two 2.25 in to 3 in now they actually started this last year um you know and it’s basically a crapshoot when you hit into the Bermuda grass rough

Sometimes the ball stay up uh the line be fine other times the ball can sink to the bottom of the grass flyer lies pretty normal um now here’s the thing W consistently ranks in the 20 hardest rough proximity courses on tour but it actually ranks inside the top 20

Easiest courses to score from the rough how that is I don’t know you got to get some numbers guys to figure that out I don’t know how that makes sense but it’s the truth um now with this type of information you would think driving accuracy is going to be super important

But then you look at the numbers and Trends and you see that this is not true um only 19 of 67 golfers that finished top three here so 2005 were ranked inside the top 50 in driving accuracy four years ago more than half of the top 10 golfers were

Below the field average of driving accuracy for the week even though the 18th Fairway is one of the most difficult Fairways on tour it still plays as one of the easiest part fives each season so five years ago the winner Fabian Gomez Hit 50% of his Fairways and

Was tied for 60th in driving accuracy he won s group finished second that year was 52 % you know he was 56 in driving accuracy in 2017 JT hit less than 45% of fairweight and shot 59 dur the first round of this event um now I personally think the golf

Tournament is going to be won on approach shots from off and on The Fairway especially from 125 to 175 yards which the majority of approaches will come from and Hy of of the last 16 winners all of them except kazy na Dei SE wo finished a year inside the top 66

In Strokes game putting now again sort of like the stat I had earlier um of those of you know all four of these golfers have won in the last six years so the trend recently has been shitty Putters have been winning this event prior to the six years ago it was mostly

Good Putters and so you know again and the age thing the 20-year- old thing you know Trends change if you want to use it go ahead I’m just putting it out there for you uh you could believe it you can use it do whatever you’d like but those

Are what the numbers say um all right so let’s keep going on on a roo shots golfers are going to see average size Bermuda grass greens that are you know fairly flat um golfers are going to need to hit as many greens as possible because there is a lot of trouble

Surrounding them and they do hit a lot of greens here one of the highest green and regulation percentages on tour many uh large deep bunkers protect the greens and the rougher on the greens much higher and thicker than the rough shot and the fair waist these greens are firm

And usually play around 11 on the S meter many people say that this course is similar to myoba Sea Island nine Bridges fonal harbort toown and Copperhead take a look at those courses for course correlation Tambo what are you looking for in golf yeah you said that man shitty Butters here why didn’t

Scotty show up man another bad week yet I think one good day of putting and the guy still up at the top of the board I think he lost over half a stroke on the entire week last week when I checked it earlier today so uh but yeah you broke

It down obviously a very good breakdown we know a lot about this course not sure why it does set up the way it does I will say this this year up top like some of these guys that I just see no history on you guys got different breeds now too

A guy like ludig up top at 105 when we get into the tiers so biggest thing for me is just looking back to last week look last week was what it was it was the first week getting back the Sentry all that but obviously we’re still during football I brought this up last

Week I’m going to continue to bring it up here I think people are just still going to play what people say this course is thing is going to live on the trends all that and I get it when mayo and I do the show this week for the in

Studio show breaking out looking at lineup construction we’re going to be looking at that we’ll have better ownership at that time and know where people are at and try to look for different angles of attack but I think that’s going to be the bigger Focus for

Me and then also um just bringing it up too you talked about it but just going back like the last week stuff it’s just going to lead to more people being popular in these certain ranges I did a first look show with the jate 75 we’re

Going to start that every week on the shipet nation YouTube station and we look through these price tiers you can pretty much already tell so I’m going to try and bring some of that like follow the content pattern into this show when we get to these tiers like the 7500 to

7,900 range this week is completely loaded with what looks like is going to be all the chalk well what is it let’s think about this for a second it’s the first full field cut event of the season I know it’s only week two but when you

Go from a no cut last week where everyone was playing stars and scrubs very easy to build those lineups and get away with it people avoiding the eight K range and now this week’s 7500 to 8900 is a range that everyone’s going to love I think you’re going to see more people

History here and the fact that you know there’s not as much I mean there’s 84 guys in the sixk range but neither one’s going to like many of them so what people are saying is you can make a case just to fade all these guys up top

People will say about the gala he had his run he didn’t come through last week the he came through for his price tag but I mean he didn’t win last week his um his game set up better for the course you just said about the accuracy thing

Which is the interesting part but people will say that is that last week you could spray it and Miss Fairways no problem guys like him and spe got away with it quite well up at the top of the board second and third so I think people go away from him people don’t love

Fitzpatrick in this type of spot Hatton will get to and then ludvig what do you do with him I mean a totally different bre from what we’ve seen from some of these up and coming players so it’s going to be interesting but I I do love

This event I think it’s a great one to watch on TV it’s one that’s like bucket list to go down like go to Hawaii and be there everyone since it’s an incredible time because you got lots of good players not many people out there all those things so I don’t know I don’t

Have much more thoughts than that but I think it’s really going to come down to that also you mentioned it weather Big Time Factor here definitely can get some wave Advantage stuff in some cases as well let’s go to these tiers let’s go ahead and start this 10K range and let’s

Talk about Obert uh here because here’s the thing about this course like you would think it’s a a lesser driver Course and there are a lot of golfers that go and do ler driver here it just makes a lot of sense uh with the shorter courses the shorter power fours but you

Know with this new Young breed of golfers you know the holes that they can play driver on because some holes you just can’t here but but the the holes where you can a driver and a lot of golfers in the past would still hit three-wood fivewood hybrid something

That these young young boys nowadays they’re just pulling out the big dog and the reason for that is technology of course because it seems like the the driver is the least Eric Club in most people’s bags now because of all the technology there is um in in a drive

Driver technology where The Sweet Spot is just so big uh you can miss The Sweet Spot and still hit it straight and long and far um so a lot of people are using drivers a lot more on particularly on course is where we didn’t see that many

Drivers I’ve talked about this off and on for the last couple of years but I think we’ve seen it a lot on this course that there’s going to be more driver than you expect um here and and again like I said even though um you know the

Rough proximity Is is tough for some reason the scoring From the Rough not that difficult again I don’t understand how that works but but I’m not a math guy but that’s what the numbers say Okay um now uh a oberg you know he’s long and he’s

Accurate like that should be just a huge advantage to every single course that he plays except the courses like last week where everyone’s hitting every Fairway all the time um he’s tempting what are you go I mean what are you gonna do with oberg this week what did you expect this ownership

To be like after being not that great last week being the the highest priced guy could you see some drop in his ownership could you see 15% I I hope so but I don’t know because obviously with him being the guy at the very top the price only capping at 105

Lots of plays with a full field it makes me think that people will still go there I still have interest though I’m not going to be concerned if he’s whether he’s 15 or 21 like I just I think again we don’t have enough information on I

Will say one other thing from the trends and stats and all the stuff that you brought up and you might even have mentioned it within the the mix of it all and I just missed it but the point of I think people focused too much on

Last week L played well last week week when it’s really just been played last week it it doesn’t really matter shake the rest off whatever I’m over there already whatever it means it’s often that so I mean if if the people that are out there saying oh well he’s up from

8,700 to 105 you know he didn’t come through last week I’ll just go to the guys below him he sucked last week whatever you want to say I’m going right back to him no matter what I think he makes sense so I’m in on him um someone

Who did play well last week looks good on the mall again I’m not sure what people will do with him but I kind of like Hatton here at 103 I just think if you go back to last season and everything we’ve watched like he’s probably better than people actually

Think he is and I wonder if that affects you know when you see a guy like him at 103 where people are like ah but he’s not a 103 golfer but maybe he is and and in this all I care about is this week in

This field so I got no problem going to him after that I don’t think I have a ton of Interest maybe uh if we find out the weather is going to be worse than we think I could play a little bit more Fitzpatrick in the sense of like if he’s

Got to grind it out a little bit more something like that but you know I do think theala will come in lower owned this week because people are like oh he had his shot last week his price went up it’s not as good a course setup so if

You want to go back to theala no problem with it but up top I think it’s those two guys at the very top that stand out the most to me all right that sounds good why don’t you move on to this my favorite play is gonna be hack uh my internet just gave

Out I just got a new router which is amazing because everything’s so much quicker I don’t know what I was doing before um but uh I’m still trying to work the cakes with my laptop and stuff with this new Rider but um I like hat Hat’s my favorite play here I was trying

Yeah um I think he is like due one of the one of the more golfers that are more due than others uh to to have a breakout win event and um and I I Fu and I think that uh you know this this could

Be uh his week and I I think that’s the one guy I’m definitely going to play in the 10K range uh and I’m gonna think about obber and figal uh I’m gonna play one of those two or maybe none of those I’m not sure exactly how I’m gonna go to

But I know that I’m gonna play with Hatton T why don’t you go ahead into the 9k range while I try to fix my laptop yeah I do want to see what happens here in this 9k range because I think you know enough people are mentioning Cory

Connor early on I know enough people bet him people always like Eric Cole Russell Henley so we’ll see how that shakes out up top I’m just not sure if the what i s what I think could be a lack of Fitzpatrick and the gal like a fair

Number on them where they’re 15 to 18 instead of being over 20 makes people go off of briyan Harman but I will say this this is always the narrative right this is what’s going to happen if you know right if you look at the history here

Armon 32nd 48 56 32 it’s been horrible but he looks good on paper he looked really good last week even uh you know I think it was round four I know a lot of it was but that’s kind of what he can do but everything else was kind of in line

As well and if you look at him at 9900 I just wonder if people are going to go away from him but it’ll be the classic narrative spit right if he doesn’t have a good week people will say well why’ you play him if his course history the

Last five years has been so bad but if he does play good people like it you can lean on well he you should have known he played good last week came fifth did well etc etc so I’d be willing to take some shots on him I still do like Cole

Henley probably um JT Poston and then Dey would just be a play off of the previous thing that I mentioned where it has nothing to do with last week it’s just that he got out shook the rust off I like the way my guy togenerate 75 put

It today he said um what’ he say he quit he quit mentally not physically we we just don’t want to see Hideki get hurt or injured or or mess up his neck or anything like that again we want him just to be playing he just didn’t have

The best week but the fact that he was out there him Henley would be two guys that stand out like that where they’re still going to look good they have decent stuff here and they’re in the mix like so I got no problem I like Henley matama and then maybe Harmon and JT

Poston would sort of be on the outside of that Eric Cole gonna continue to play him he just keeps playing well 14th again last week yeah I mean the guy’s been incredible I like I I said last week I was not a believer I’m a True

Believer now and he is one of my cash game cornerstones he’s actually first in my model uh for this week and if you look at his numbers you know really good with his wedges you want your guys to be good from at least 150 to 175 and also

If you can 125 to 150 those are going to be like more than half of your approaches are going to be from those two ranges uh he’s also a hell of a putter you gota look for good putting uh at this type of week and he’s also tons

Of birdies he has everything he need basically so Cole no problem he played last year for the first time here finished 61st at least he made the cut it’s a different Eric Cole that we you know from January of last year to January now totally different player I’m not worried

About it I expect a good showing from him my second cash game Cornerstone is actually right above him Cory Connors at 90 what $9,800 9800 bucks um again last week one of the best ball Strikers out there he didn’t have a really good finish uh but I think he was first or

Second top five at ball striking uh no doubt he was just balling out there again he just couldn’t make a putt now here’s the thing at this course he’s played it five times for round he is averaging positive Strokes gain putting I think it’s like 32 uh is what he

Averages positive Strokes game putting at this course you know per round and I’m sure some of it has to do with like you know weird things where you gained a whole bunch uh of of Strokes putting in like one or two rounds but still at least you see positive Strokes game

Putting uh total when you look at all of his rounds combined here at this event that’s why I think he can win this event I like at 33 to1 he is my headline bet uh he’s my second cash Cornerstone I’m a big fan for gpps I have no problem going

Back to Chris Kirk it’s not like his ass partied after he won of course I know most of you know but if you don’t you know he’s recovering alcoholic um and so uh you know it’s not like he’s going out and party after every win you know the

Funny thing is he has as many wins in his career in almost as many starts as Ricky Fowler I think uh Chris Kirk has like eight more starts than Fowler and he has the same amount of wins just saying um and so you know and this guy’s course history of this

This man you think Chef kiss you know what I’m saying that sticky course history you know I I like him and again good people go off of them because they don’t expect the guy to win back to back I think that’s a little bit old school thought people are lot smarter uh now

When it comes to DFS especially golf DFS but there’s still going to be probably less than there normally should be his ownership probably gonna be less than it should be for the way he’s playing obviously his form is unbelievable and the way his course history is unbelievable at this course I think he’s

One here also I got no problem going back to Mr uh uh Chris Kirk uh for gppp in this event let’s go down to the AK range and I like your picks too I mean I’m to use thought on on Willie zek coming back CU we’re going to talk about

For Willie Z close to it but at least the other guys they competing against the majority of them have at least had like a a month to six weeks off you know for for most people uh in this field so at least it’s a little bit more if they

Did it in the middle of the in the middle of the Season you know it’ be a lot tougher for me to think about using them I don’t think I’m going to use them at all um but you know if you see like a

2% Rel e okay I could throw t % long there and they’ll probably five times the field gonna be feels like he is going to be extremely low this week I like yeah so I mean if he’s like two three% and I can get five times the

Field average at 10 to 15% I mean from a game threeory perspective that just seems like the right play uh now just from the gut watching golf I mean it’s pretty hard to come back from a year off and be competitive um it it’s tough now

Now remember so you remember the hero CH the hero World Challenge right he he came back and it was a 81 and then a 68 and then a 79 and then a 71 so it’s just really inconsistency and before that remember he’ posted out on social media

That he’d I think he set a course record at one of these courses or something like that so I mean was it just his first time coming back into competitive play that it caused him to have those two really bad rounds or is it a you

Know a lingering issue I mean that was a month ago so I think I don’t know if he’s going to go completely overlooked it’s definitely interesting tournament play I just wanted to get your take I’m not super high in it or anything I just was curious what you’re doing with them

Coming back to uh a main field like full field cut event that we’re playing him in I’d rather play Dei who could be lower owned down here like if you’re looking for a Poston pivot I think JT is gonna be popular and rightfully so uh

Birdies on Sunday had no Bogies uh went shot 61 uh on a Sunday we’re always looking for golfers coming off a really hot Sunday round uh not only that the last time we played year I don’t know why he doesn’t play more often but the

Last time he played here I think it was second or third or fifth like somewhere in the top five uh he finished so he has the course history he’s played well here before in the past and the thing is when it comes to my model he’s actually

Number two he is inside the top 25 in this field in every single um stat that I’m looking for 125 to 150 15 to 175 par for scoring um Strokes gained te green bird is a better game Strokes gained putting I mean he’s top 25 in all of

Those uh so I’m a fan I’m gonna use him after his hot round I think he might have caught found something after sort of struggling the first three rounds maybe I had a little bit too much of a break uh you know didn’t get as much

Work in but now I’m not worried about it after shooting freaking 61 on a par 73 he’s got the game uh so I’m going to use him as my third cash can Cornerstone um other guys I do like in this range um Benny on is going to be uh he’s due for

Another guy who’s due for not in the same same vein as Eric Cole uh but Benny’s been playing a lot of good golf here in the last three four five six months uh you know he hasn’t won on tour yet and you know this guy is won big

Tournaments before I mean the US amateur is nothing to sneeze at right um and so I I think the way he’s been playing I think I can get back on board now I will say if he’s like one of the top three four five highest owned then maybe I think twice about

Using them and then shift over to seaw or Cam uh cam could be a nice little flop leg FL flop lag for this event not playing well Big Time chalk last week didn’t play well he’s going to come at a lot lower ownership this week you know

His game seems like it should be able to fit the course at least half decent again par four scoring HS wedges can use a little bit of work but you know he’s above average for in the field from 150 to 175 top 20 from 125 to 150 top 20 in

Strokes game part four scoring you know uh you know top 50 in putting uh birdies iron birdies T green all strong I think he can get back on Cam Davis what about you and this AK rant yeah we talked in the preview show if you guys didn’t

$9,400 like why maybe it’s the field strength it’s the field strength I think I don’t know man the guy has never had a top five but he’s got a lot of top top 14s 9 14 11 9 13 14 a bunch of top 25 so yeah it’s a you know why though it’s

Because he’s a cut maker I’m just going to do a quick run but it’s like 1 2 3 4 5 6 79 12 12 3 4 17 18 19 20 1 2 3 4 6 30 of his last 33 it looks like for cuts made that’s probably why safety I mean

And no one had this narrative so I thought of this but SEI Wu and sunjay got the gold medal at the Asian Games and then what happened last week both of them come out and just Crush I mean Betty ‘s a separate story but I mean just from these guys actually add to

Battle to get the gold medal to alleviate themselves from their military service and come out and play last week yes see played what did he do SE was top 25 shot 20 under on the week his Sunday was a seven under bogey free round he had like two two bogeys three bogeys all

Week guy played incredible I was more focused on the other Korean breaking the record for most birdies ever in a PGA Tour event sjm with 34 birdies basically he almost went 50% birdies at an event and he still only six in draftking points he finished six in draftking

Points with the most birdies ever in the history of the PGA Tour and what what was he 8100 last week something like that yeah I know either way I I shifted all I had a whole bunch of Dey and I was like at the last second I was like [ __ ]

This I’m shifting this all over to sunj and that held me out big time yeah I will say that last season there was uh you know people were holding interventions for me about how much sunj was playing they can take their coffee and their donuts shove it up their ass

Cuz this year is the year of sunjay I’m excited for it so that was nice to see he’s not here but see who is I think he can ride him with like we just talked about these big rounds Davis eight under bogey free on Sunday uh seu seven under

Um in the field last week so I’m just hoping they you he can get that belly putter back uh to Norm after teaching baa doesn’t it seem weird like when it comes to the belly poter like I expect that to be like the last resort like you’ve been a grinder

On tour for like 15 years and finally you’re like [ __ ] it I know my putting sucks I’m just gonna go ahead and look stupid and play the belly putter B’s like 14 years old and his ass is out there using the belly putter [ __ ] looks

Strokes game putting on Bermuda Greens in this field um like I said Iron play strong he’s played well here in the past uh really good from 125 to 150 I’m in on Andrew putam up top who do you like up top in 7K R you can just play Andrew

Putam wherever you want I think he’s gonna be one of the most popular plays of the week when we get really yeah it looks like it early on just uh I don’t think everyone’s going to really look but even if they do like he didn’t do

Great last week but beyond that he’s you know fourth and 27th here the last two years stats look off the page any of the stats you look at from last week are good projects well things like that so we’ll see how it actually ends up going

But if not who cares more owned hogy or putham I think I think putham really then I’ll because I like there all all those guys I just think it’s upper range get I just never think of Andrew putam as a high on golf forever you know I’m

Saying yeah it’s the way it’s shaking out early on this week just seeing it we’ll see what it actually gets to when we get to Wednesday but for me me um this range up top is just loaded of names that people want to play right like Brendan Todd last week baa coocher

The course horse you just said it spenc it people always like him Glover looks really popular too Glover might actually rival putham just because people like him more and it’s only a few more dollars so Glover looks good Ogie list people play JJ spawn like stepen Jagger

I played him in the past I like him I think spawn at 7600 is interesting Aaron Ry so it’s really tough to take a stand in this range I’m going to wait and see ownership on paper early like Ry look good you mentioned uh hogi span senson

All the those guys look good but then like Glover and putham look really good but they look really popular and to me Kenny this week this looks like twofold like I’ll talk about this little you know sort of a process tip or strategy idea of not only do I think more people

Go balanced for the builds that start with like 110k and land in this range that’s fine but you also have you have popular plays and then they get even more popular because of roster Construction often times that can be a way just to avoid it naturally and you and I talk

About this all the time we’ve had so many listener League winners avoid the fomo of you know fear missing out in the 9k range where they’re like oh they skip the 9k range and it’s like the most popular range of the week you should have no fomo of missing out on the upper

7K range if it beats you it beats you that can still happen I’m not saying it won’t and people run back when three of these guys finish top three and says that’s what you get for fad it I’m not saying that I’m not fading it complete anything like that I’m saying when

You’re looking at your builds noticing that almost all of them end up here and then there’s people and guys in this range golfers that people already liked and loved to play it’s you double down on it right you’ve got now the most popular guys in the most popular

Constructions that’s a way to get different naturally in your single entry three max large field stuff whatever you want to do that’s just a way to get different is just to skip over a range where you can make the case for these guys in this bottom 7K range as well

Sure you got plenty all yeah I mean my number one I mean you got your boy talk about your boy 7300 that was called ADC yeah yeah I was waiting to see I wasn’t fully down scrolled down but then I was waiting to see your say

So yeah we did the pot earlier this you know what was it last week I guess we did the combination of the Sentry and leading in and the books man the books know everyone was waiting on big numbers on them I think they had them at like 75

Or 80 to one already coming into today the you know the stuff that was going on with him is obviously winning tournaments and stuff out there while people are talking about lud VG and him being sort of like the next guy up or the next guy that’s going to do that

When he comes out on tour so he has the good news about him I don’t know how much he picks up from other podcasts and stuff but there’s no real heavy stats on him you’re not going to find any history all that you’re you’re playing him to be

Early on him he’s 7,300 bucks there’s lots of guys around him that people would much rather play I’m not advocating to go all in I’m saying if you like them get some leverage on them this week really play him if you’re G to play him if you want to commit and get

In on the action with them do so that’s what I’m going to do that’s what I like here I think it makes sense but there is other guys in this lower 7K range and I think this range is the one that goes completely overlooked there’s you know

Going to be one or two guys that pop you mentioned uh some of the other guys that you could play like Gary Woodland is back 7100 you could take a shot on him Mark hubard is down there at 7,000 my guy my other guy actually that’s why I

Was looking when you said who I had this one tag is I like Nick Taylor I I think again you go you go to a guy like Nick Taylor who you know we we talk about in the past of like Coastal courses and playing uh what do you win 18t Pebble

Beach proam he came seventh here last year and 11th the time he played it before that I think Nick Taylor’s fine he’s more of those guys that played last week didn’t play well but now he’s 7200 and may not come in with much ownership Kirk kittama Patrick Rogers two other

Guys Emiliano gillo I think there’s at least those five or six options I just mentioned without naming everybody down this range that I can get behind here Kenny that most of them played last week or have played before or I’m playing on a bet on talent and I’m fine with that

So I do like this range down here I think it goes much more overlooked than the upper 7K range yeah there’s a lot of guys like G you’re were talking about I’m a fan I like Billy Orel here at $7,400 it looked like his game you know

He was lost for a little bit but it looked like he found something in the fall had a nice little top 10 finish um out there at 7,400 RS for a guy who’s won like eight times on tour I’ll go ahead uh play a little Billy Ho uh down

Here top 15 in stroke skin putting on Bermuda along with uh Justin Su another guy who tends to play better on Bermuda uh so I I could play him at 7400 hubard at 7,000 really really good with his wedge play ranked I think top 10 in my
