One of our lovely lady members talks about what you can expect by joining Bolton Golf Club
I heard about an initiative here at Bolton which was to increase the ladies membership and get more ladies into golf so I thought I’d come along I came and met with Mel the golf club manager he was so welcoming um he suggested that I budded up with one of the um lady
Members currently who was a lady called Janice who is last year’s Lady Captain Janice was so lovely she took me out on the course show me around the clubhouse and it just went from there really um I felt at home immediately and thought why not I’ll give it a Go it’s been really easy to get games we have a WhatsApp group that you can post on to asking if anybody wants to go out and play we have the ladies competition on a Tuesday and and for ladies at work there’s an alternative competition on a Sunday so it doesn’t matter whether you
Work or not you’ll always get a game I found it very very easy the ladies been very welcoming very open to new members so i’ I’ve been able to get in plenty of golf it’s not been a problem at All no you certainly don’t have to play in competitions the ladies section on a Thursday morning we actually have what’s called a up so you come along you give the ball normally to a lady called Ida she puts them in a bag the ball gets drawn out at completely random so you
Could be playing with a different person every week the idea is that you go out on the course have fun practice and then we all come back into the clubhouse uh normally just for a really nice social lunch so it’s a really nice get together you do not have to play in the
Competitions at all you can do as much or as little as you want Oh we’ve had lots of Socials over the summer we’ve had the formal Captain’s dinners and the associated medal board competition dinners and we’ve also had some really fun events we’ve had a fashion show so Matthew who’s the pro here in the Pro Shop he stocks a brand
Called swingout sister so we had the rep from swingout sister clothing come and we had some lady members do a modeling session for us so we actually had a Runway down the middle of the dining room in the clubhouse which is really fun we also a couple of weeks ago had a
Pampa and prco evening from Tropics there’s plenty to do you don’t have to come to the socials you can come to as many socials or dinners as you choose
