It was all we were texting to each other it was set up for the 31st I went out of town once again and uh I chased something other than a podcast and uh I um so I did that dad and I thought about doing it in live I

Watched this 10-minute video on how to do it on OS huh what I talked about uh I watched this video how to do a live feed on OSB or OBS or whatever the hell it is and um is it not even on it’s good you’re live I’m just looking at this right here

Anyways uh sorry y’all and um I was like looks like a lot of work so um so I’m just going to say Oklahoma has a lot of dispensaries and they all look like a bunch of freaking crack houses really oh yeah okay I don’t remember one of them that didn’t have

Like some graffiti or just didn’t look very good and for every dispensary they had they had like three glass pipe shops like in the same strip mall yeah yeah but basically man it was crazy I never seen anything like that so and they all sold uh Disc Off discs yeah

Right I’m sure they did in some form of fashion however that’s why we’re doing it tonight we couldn’t do it we couldn’t do it yesterday because not sure why we couldn’t do it on the first but that’s fine because I already broke I already broke it but we’re on the

Second and let’s be let’s be honest we’re going by some calendar somebody made up this really could be the first day of the year or the 31st in some societ really knows right uh I don’t know I think it’s the second day of the year welcome Mike thanks for setting

Yeah it’s basically like an Around the World style huding in the garage with obstacles and mandoos Mike came and did it Abe came and played The Gauntlet after our podcast did not get 10 did not get 10 out of 10 and Duncan Howard first

Try got 10 out Duncan’s that guy man I I told you this story about nineball where he played nineball for the first time in the first break he sinks the nineball and I’m just want to break my stick and be like this is dumb that’s not

Surprising and he does yeah so good for Duncan did 10 for 10 well then Mike’s been out there putting as well and gotten plenty of putts in on the gauntlet have you ran in The Gauntlet Mike yeah I did n out of 10 my first

Time well that’s not 10 out of 10 so but I I had the record till I saw Duncan smash got here 10 out of 10’s a good we were doing the fast putting thing too oh the fast putting because we watched a Ganon video with Scott stokeley where

They did some fast putting like and I saw that where they’re just we did too and I’m not sure how how that’s relative to disco or or playing but it was fun I mean if it’s uh raining maybe you have to putt quick there you

Go so so where we at so um 2023 is over uh we’re two days into 2024 I’m G tell you y’all um and you Young Bucks out there they do go by man enjoy life cuz it’s crazy to think I was worried about why 2K and it’s 24 years

Later now I remember yeah Mitch strodder is having some issues at Dillard because he works on a like a do system so 2024 is creating Havoc at the Dillard uh world I guess or whatever he does so um but my 2023 um we’re going to do the awards

Here later uh but one of the awards was going to be the most regressive player I believe and and it did get voted on and I started thinking about it I was like that’s not very positive um took you that long to figure that out it was it wasn’t supposed to be negative

Um but I I do I do think sometimes that just fine so I went ahead and granted I probably was I was the V highest vote getter on that and and rightfully so and I don’t think it’s that a meanness I think the people who did vote for it

Understand that I went in the season I think it was like 882 I 880 something feeling good about my game your goal was 900 right goal was 900 my goal was to win a tournament with more than like three people in it too I know that’s a

Weird goal but that’s why I do sign up for some of the um divisions I do uh but I get to add another one next year to my uh repertoire I get to go in in A50 you did mention you have like four Google accounts you probably just voted for yourself on all

Those yeah I want know but I did and and I do think you should set goals and I did and it just didn’t happen uh I played it 16 events you’ve gotten close what was that one of the tracks that you went into a playoff

With oh yeah and I lost that one had a decent and I lost the uh one at Cedar Beach as well that’s right you were in the mix that day god dude that dude yeah until but that dude just parked it on um the last hole on 18 there he threw a

Nice flick thre a nice flick and it skipped up there at Cedar Beach and didn’t you win Mountain View that that wasn’t this year though I didn’t go this year yeah y’all y’all went up there 2023 didn’t count no so I played 16 events and and my rating went down about 20

Points 20 30 points and and I’m going to and listen I’m not want to make excuses I know why you can look at your round like I did uh on the 31 when I played there in Tulsa man which I shot plus 14 and still

Scored an 863 rated round was fun and um it was a lot of shots you get extra shots but you got you have to get off the Box you have to make just you cannot and you cannot compound your mistakes you can’t go from hitting not getting off the box

And then trying to be a hero and then amplify that cuz now you’re already sitting two in the middle of some wood somewhere and it’s a part three you’re already looking at a four at best and then you throw another shot that’s decent and then you miss that putt

Coming up so that’s a five so there’s two right there if I do the right thing throw out in the middle of the the Fairway and then lay up for the next shot and take my four that’s at least one shot but what if you did it man

There’s no the the percentages you’re right you’re right what if I got off the T box and I didn’t have to worry about that so my goal for 20 and I’ll just kind of hit this real fast M Dan’s Dan’s he’ll talk about his goal I still G to

Play I like rated events I enjoy the competition um I enjoy playing with new folks someday I’ll get on a heater and feel good about myself but that’s that was my recap for uh at least playing um sadly I didn’t progress as a player I don’t throw any further recess

And I do and I don’t flick so he progressed I do flick a little more uh you tried you started to try to flick in 2023 yeah I did but man just I just couldn’t get enough of them but but I got the one flick I do want where just

Take that Toro and throw it real it’s still a real nice ni and high and it and it comes around a nice Corner um so but when you got the Rollo you don’t need those you can shop shape through any set he does throw the Rolo

Better than any of have a Rolo right now though I got it back we we we us three played a nine Hole uh rollos from the short at moreart and that was um we need to do it another time when when wolf throws a Rolo it’s like he’s throwing a

T- bird and when it’s a usable disc for him me and Wyman throw the Rollo it’s like it’s a Rollo and it’s so hard put the Right Touch on boy it’s some serious making love this I’m never the only person that can have a Rolo fade at the end of the

Flight is Wolf so far in my experience both a compliment and an insult yeah it’s kind of turn and it still fights out of it I I played I I want to do say I got to play Brandon cauthorne who is essentially the Abe of the Tulsa area

And he’s a really good golfer he’s th6 raid or whatever and he’s typically in there and with these couple other guys and man I went uh for an upshot and I I used my was my uh Toro and it went about 10 feet and then faded to the left really quickly I was

Like well that’s how you do an uncommited shot right there man it was awful and I felt just you don’t commit that stuff bails out especially when you throw soft like I do so the land of SC right Dan yeah we were hanging out there we’ve been there yeah speaking of

Uncommitted how was your rating due this year Dan uh probably worse than yours [ __ ] thanks for asking I was like mid 930s I was like my goal is 940 950 and just I actually got worse by a lot uh solid 898 player I can play I can

Play ma3 now can I that’s scary for that Y in trouble boys yeah4 go 2024 goal ma3 win coming at coming at you David herble for real no I treated a lot of tournaments like festivals and just parted my way through a lot of them

And uh played kind of hurt and hung over and just not great golf um and I didn’t cherry pick either I picked tournaments I wanted to play with my friends and I had a great time all the way through but I did not do well uh did not play

Courses that suited my game and I just didn’t play very good so yeah there it is and he got hurt the yeah the injury a junk injuries not great either um before that I actually was picking up some distance I was doing more field work I was being

A little more um specific in particular on the discs I would throw and trying to understand those so yeah I had some wins last year but overall ratings wise got worse probably had the most fun though that I’ve ever had so said for that yeah you know

That’s where I’ve I’ll go ahead and go next because Dan what is your what is your goal for 2024 do you have them uh I really don’t man I I think maybe just get back to when I started playing disc golf And 2016 2017 it was just like the pleasure of getting outside and playing and having fun my friends and I didn’t care much about more than that and uh yeah Mike have you ever had that have you ever been in that where you you’ve always played fairly competitive right

Yeah you’ve never just had I know Wyman’s had a spell in his life where he’s just play the problem every time that I try to go and have a fun round everybody wants to talk about the freaking one tag all the time we’re getting into the

Club thing all the time it’s a burden and it’s it’s a curse it’s a blessing and a curse lose that one tag just you just give you just throw around listen I know for me no he’s right too he wouldn’t let me I can tell you right now

I know somebody who had the one tag one time and I know he tanked it on purpose cuz it’s you gotta they want you to if you have the one tag you should play a lot you should play you got play you got to put it out there you do we’re not saying

You don’t yeah I’m sorry yeah no we’re not saying you’re not I defend it to places I don’t want to play like you all the freaking time yeah if you show up to the mini and a couple people are there uh even just practice round who has the

Surewood one tag you I don’t know I don’t have a tag there last last time we had the alcop mini there was like a 28 a 42 uh yeah was an 80 something in there that’s we hit this real quick that’s the problem with tags I agree I mean it’s

Needs to be digital as you’ve talked about before yeah maybe that’s a 202 before golf I hang out on disc golf uh that man we’re all going to be playing disc golf I’ll be playing I’ll be playing whether I’m out in out in the L uh out in the deal it’s a different

Story but um my goal is to caddy for Michael May so Wyman you’re going to MP 40 and you’re going into MP 40 on what kind of note uh well on a positive one that’s true so I was a regressive player as well so we’ll go ahead and get the

Three of us out of the way so we can get to the progressive player but yeah um I regress this year for sure I had a lot to come up family stuff uh father issues as far as health and it’s all he’s doing great now um and you know just other

Personal things that happen throughout the year but that’s part of life you know it’s tough to play really good rounds when you got personal things going on man that’s when that’s when the whole aspect of like Dan was saying you just get out to play to play I care like

We played that roll around we get it was whatever um cuz you’re just playing you were just outside it was happy to be out but it was cold man over there at moreart was like some death death went on over there something bone chilling

But yeah a lot of what Dan said you know weighs heavily with what I you know with how I feel about it and that’s that I’ve gotten to a point now the mindsets actually better and more positive for disc off to just get out and play with

Friends yeah that’s what you have to do um mean if you’re in a club yeah you can still play it’s tough I’m I’m not the fan of the uh Mob Brown if there’s going to be six or more there man I’m really like that’s that’s a

Little different yeah I’m not man Know M Browns are tough to takes serious um because you throw every five seven minutes it’s a pretty long it’s more like stick ball you know ball golf round Oh I thought you meant the like the game stick ball like I was like why I quickly

Said Ball Golf afterwards Stick Golf Dan harp just put in there hello Chad give us your 2023 highlights nice dude okay let’s see I’ll tell you what I’m here working for what was what was your 2023 okay what regressive regressive regressive we talked about this before um Mike has

Been on the progress progress 23 ever since I’ve seen his name he’s been on the progress so that’s that’s a good thing um you started the year at what Mike rating wise yes sir I don’t know 9:30 something all right and 930 and you’re ending at 966 we were the

Same rating really yeah yeah they didn’t like you man they were like this dude needs to move up why the is he in ma2 or ma1 sandag I know what he’s doing I I respect what Mike’s doing we do too yeah we know once you w you find out what

People are doing um a lot easier to like well my thing too is like um hey I’m I’m probably G to say an M1 for this next year at least for the first little bit just so I can have the ability to play like the bigger am tournaments cuz you still haven’t played

Like there’s still some big am tournaments yeah like am Nats am World stuff like that like why would I Rob myself of the chance of doing that just to play for a couple hundred dollars well and we know somebody that did up maybe a little early so you know and

Probably should have stayed yeah and then also like especially for this last year I love you Eli but God your tournament to not help my rating um that that is what a goal for me in 2024 is not to play trap courses in tournaments like Bieber fork and

Green bar and stuff like that justes you not to you said what I said we will remind you not yeah please don’t I will not we’re going to play that you don’t need to you know so then it’s you you’re right you want well my

Thing was like in 2023 we had so many events during the season that the only thing I could play was Flex starts sure your job dictates what I get to play what you get to play um I only really played like three big tournaments figure out how you can play

And work at the same time like you can play I’ll be like hey this just happened do I need to look the statup for you and then we yeah the points that you’re getting though towards like Am Nationals and stuff is not as good in a flex start

As it would be in a b tier or you know that’s some of the ones were missing that’s why when I ran that League at rez I put everybody in the same pot and I didn’t know anything about points so when somebody won that week or whatever

Dude they got a buttload of points they’re walking out with a ton of points and I think somebody either qualified or just or got a lot like three four of the points just through that League yeah the threshold isn’t super high but I remember I qualified for it like halfway

Through the year last year and by the time I qualified for it points-wise it was already full and weightless was insane yeah likewise I qualified for the past like it’s one thing to qualify right it’s another thing then you get on this weight list and you still got to

Pay the money when you’re on the way and you pay the money and you may not get on well by the time they email you and you look at it you’re like oh I’m 190th on the weit list this uh I’m not even going tier three not even going to plan on

This yeah I mean it’s a huge thing every year so it’s apparently it was a pretty nasty situation weatherwise this past year where was it’s tobogan yeah it’s always tobogan or no am Nats is tobogan I don’t know where they did Worlds at two I was invited or I got I qualified

Two years ago and it was tobogan okay but it was also the same thing in my mind I was like yeah I’m 200th on the weight list that’s a lot of money I’m not going to fly there yeah even if I did I’m probably going to get smoked by

Like a 13-year-old um it’s like 9.99 that’s okay they’re so good in this game oh they’re so good looking at uh just looking at your PGA page lot of flex starts baby lot of flex starts a lot of on a lot of ones and twos um I’m

At a 50% win rate now you’re at 662 on points you know and for that amount of tournaments you played that should definitely have you well over a thousand plus you’re playing one know um yeah I don’t think I ever I think my worst finish M1 is like fifth or something I’m

Guessing a lot of people sign up but if like ma2 ma3 is where the real numbers are I mean as far as that goes no I feel I feel bad playing ma1 at this point like I do but I am doing it for a reason dude take people’s lunch money at minis

Beat up on people well the minis I don’t feel bad about cuz we’re all in the same podt I’m not going to feel bad playing in May 3 this year you better watch out that’s right guys yeah I was about to say damn I don’t think there’s a World’s

Ma3 maybe there is but do y’all have a a ratings goal you want to hit next year nope don’t care I want to I want to finish on the posi m i me absolutely not the number for me the magic number is I still haven’t earned my 900 badge you

Know there’s I always think when I was a kid and we had this bowling league where you got like a 50 patch and a 75 patch when you kept progressing I think in disc golf the 900 patches kind of the wee below of the or

The or maybe even Boy Scouts of the Boy Scout uh hierarchy there of um cub bear weeo so or wolf I think there’s a wolf P you do suspenders with Flare like bans maybe maybe maybe that’s what I need to do um no I I just I’m G to play

More Vents and and I’m going to say this I’m going to play not in the state I I think um oh we’re screwed here for Ratings D we are and they seeing me shoot a plus4 and getting an 863 or whatever in Oklahoma right in Tulsa in in t if I

Were in the state I would just follow AE and let him propagate every tournament for you I was so glad he showed up and you know he’s gonna put up more likely a really decent squ he he R [ __ ] or takes an Amber herd man you can

Go not far out of the state I mean South Haven Mississippi and four four hours not far dude Tyler Texas you’re going to play better players you’re going to get higher propagators you’re going to get better ratings and Oklahoma has an 80 mph speed limit holy cow y’all watch out

Man nice I didn’t even know that that’s funny yeah they don’t have it in Louisiana they just say drive just go man cuz their roads are rating um I well I I would of course like to get my 10 points back at least there you go so 940 to 950 okay that

That’s a decent number for me you’re 900 900 and if you play m 40 and you play those events like Bud Hill Masters and you play uh Arkansas Masters which is an a tier this year um you’re going to get better ratings right I’m not saying the ma1 ratings on

Average yeah you should there’s so because there’s still some thousand rated dudes that show up that you’re going to play against man I’m so excited to play and Arkansas Masters up in Mountain View that’s the one thing I’m looking forward to man I sure hope they uh they were talking about changing the

Format to where like you play Red first and you um finish instead of progressively get longer I would progressively get shorter I don’t know I like that I actually like that yeah because I like having a birdie or die course as like the and I I know a lot of

People do not like that and I don’t know why but I do like it as like the final day course cuz no you can’t probably make up ground should have never lost ground in the first day if you’re going to do a birdie or die I feel like you got to do

It on the first one just first round maybe the second round cuz then you can recover for it well it depends on how many rounds all right this is a three rounder but yeah that’s rare first yeah it’s is it three rounder three day or three round or two day three rounds

Three days man so it is just around yeah round a day and then you just kind of kill time there yeah there’s tea times Ian you could essentially dry because a lot of them didn’t start till I don’t think mine were noon at best so uh at the start I could have drove

Back and forth I mean it’s a long drive but Bob was if I had to pay for a place or drive back and forth I’d probably drive back and forth but Bob was nice Ellis was nice enough to house me so all right so Mike what’s your goal

Uh I think ratings wise I think 990 is achievable I think realistically 980 and I’m sure that goes with picking right it’s just going to depend on what I’m able to play I think you can probably get there I think I can too I know I can it just depends better stop

Playing with [Laughter] us Dam fny he still plays really well though when he does yeah because he doesn’t smoke bud or he doesn’t drink we can’t lure him into those traps yeah sober man sugarfree sober Mike rolls us every time so it’s fun to play though and he’s a

Good sport and he’s a good teammate anyway so um let’s talk about the oh another goal real quick to travel i e that traveling a given um it’s I’ve already told Mike he’s whenever he has the opportunity Mike’s job right and and so I’m sure wherever there’s a big

Tournament always do it on St of like Pro Tour tournaments that’s like the Arkansas open this last year yeah they had it the same weekend as our tour Championship dude yeah that’s tough for you um and to try to achieve a a good disc golf thing because or um your personal disc golf

Game um balance it is and I guess should we throw tournaments just for Mike hell yeah Mike mlex start the weekend not what we do need more of is himman West sanctioned events I would love that give the guys that can throw it far that’s love that some tournaments

Or Flex starts even I think that’s the toughest course on that property it is and they’re all they’re all par 3es they’re all ridiculously long par 3s yeah I can think of like three holes on West that are like H those are kind of short I should be able to get those the

Rest of them you better throw over 300 350 fot accurately it’s long to have a shot and that’s why I voted for my least favorite course which yeah take your take your [ __ ] Rollo out there buddy I would they’d ever cut the grass uh more more if they

Would cut it then cut it again because when they cut it it’s R proof dude um but Wes is Wes is for the long it’s for the long throwers yeah that’s might be the least played course in the area probably is no doubt nobody’s ever out

There I see people playing it all the time I think mistakenly right we’ll be we’ll be out there with kind of like a a smallish crowd on East like a 10 pack on East and like let’s just going to play this side oh man maybe we should just

Play through those guys you guys meet up with them at whole one or 16 the so you what are you guys are all happy they’re just like beaten down yeah they’ve lost 18 discs over there like oh you’re on West that’s where we were trying to play so it’s h we were talking

I do like East I think East is a fair fun it needs new teap pads I mean the teap pads desperately dude it’s bad every single teapad is like they’re a little they’re a little frumpy what I like it though because it’s it’s flat it plays relatively quick it does

You can you can definitely lose some discs it’s a good everyday there’s ponds and Creeks where you can definitely do some disc but it’s you need yeah it’s a good quick course that you can get every kind of shot type in yeah I agree compl the short holes are fair you know you

Want to spend the whole day out there you can so um taco joint down the street the problem yeah go to Del Campo is so good uh is that the one right where you turn by man it is so good it is oh they got some uh beef beef broth bone marrow

Soup stuff there dude it’s so good man uh not what I expected I have yet to go so Justin Yates that he’s going to take me the um the problem with those pads is you can’t flatten that like if it was regular dirt pad you can like like in a

Baseball uh batter’s box you can fill that stuff in I can’t fill that in because it has that Turf over the top of it the the lumps you’re talking about the Rocks stuff like that so I you know I was um Dan pleasure putting oh I’m looking at Wyman’s I thought I thought

He wrote that to me I was like why talking about Dan’s pleasure putting Palace but um but anyways we won’t get into so that’s cool so 2023 recap for the pro end of it um Kristen pretty much if she showed up she won is that fair to

Sayar man Tatar was tarded is that can I say that I did whatever now it’s yeah it’s out there do you think one of the best seasons ever NP or Foo you know I I know Paige was it was the best Foo season we’ve ever seen yeah I think it’s definitely

Up there when I first started watching disc golf I felt like Paige was like Kristen where if she showed up everybody else was playing for a second yeah but the strength of field back then and Kristen’s doing things pae just didn’t do yeah and she can flick like a mad man

Uh she flicks but man puts yeah I just I wonder when that’s going to change though cuz I agree but I always think I think back to like Bill Russell in the NBA and now we look back and we’re like yeah he was playing a bunch of [ __ ]

Plumbers true like and now the competition level is so high in the NBA it’s so hard to compare do not to take away anything from Chris tar she’s awesome had an awesome season but like yeah when when are the days see an average thousand rated female golf

Exactly when going to be a lot of real you know competition there she’s definitely trending to that thousand rated I what she ended at but I mean man so so close she’ll get there got 990 I think was her highest 999 was her highest she’s 998 right now no no no for

Paige oh she got 996 she was real close too okay yeah and for the people who compare but here’s the thing her to the pro men and that they shot a better round they don’t play the same wayup no they never she’s admitted that I mean she’s she’s been on podcast saying the

Same thing there’s a big level difference there there’s people who get on online and say oh she had what was there was one tournament where she had the best rated round well they were saying even over the men and they they were trying to compare it’s a different

Layout you can’t do it you can’t do that until you play the exact same layout the exact day what does Kristen score on on the F on the no I mean if you don’t know cuz the holes are different parts are different no I get that but if she ever played with silver

And I mean and I wonder what she scores like at JB if she heads over there and plays the we don’t live in that world unfortunately here’s the thing with Kristen she’s not just winning by like one or two no oh yeah beating the brakes

Off them girls so it’s like you it’s not slowing down yeah and what I was saying is that the the strength of field the girls have gotten so much better in the fpo you saw it this year a lot of the the females that were just killing it

And so for Kristen to be as good as she was this year to win by as many as she did yeah that’s pretty impressive well I I think one problem that we have with fo is there’s not a lot of killers yeah like you think she’s she’s

Just going to do it again next year well like most most FBO tournaments are decided by who screws up the most yeah at the end of the day it’s like that’s why Miss always hanging around yeah most of them are decided by who bogey is the final hole and who like double Bogies

You know who I like in the FBO though two I’ve watched actually more of it last year than ever Ella Hansen Ella’s fun to watch Ella yeah and I saw her on like a Skins thing or something where she was out driving the guys on quite a

Few of the holes rip I mean like smoking them so like that that’s what I’m saying like we get more girls like that that are playing in the sport and just Mak you got to get the softball driven girls some of these other yeah maybe they will previous athletes of other sports like

They’ve got to have some skills that carry over and they can come in here the problem is that they’re already behind I don’t know when I don’t know how long she’s playing playing for a decent so but if if you got a girl who’s really good at softball and that’s all she’s

Going to do she up any of the time for disc golf then she starts picking it up after say maybe college or somewhere through college because her college career of softball that she got the little scholarship for yeah that was kind of Ella’s thing she was an ultimate

First be player so it just takes time it’s like we saw the same thing with 2015 with Paul N he absolutely ran through everybody and then you know fast forward eight years now he’s barely being able to win no no no that winning huh you you misspoke he doesn’t he’s not

Winning he w a PCS you know it’s PCS that was a tournament where I said it’s an elite event now he wasn’t winning okay won that one but it’s calm down now 1075 rated round got home me 10th place at uh gosage posted his five top rated rounds

I was like 1075 is a 10th Place finish that’s one round he could have had a thousand rated round the other round I get that but I think everybody killed it I think if you go back Paul also had the second highest rated round of the year

At a tournament all right I’m I’m going to think more some ma3 guy like Dan pops off and gets a better score because day and then all of a sudden yeah the ratings are just here’s what I see consistently coming up in 2024 on a good note in disl locally I see Pimon

Ridge consistently holding awesome tournaments yeah and they’re going to keep have you know having consistent B tiers awesome player packs their um Pro Shop is stacked got to love them I’m going to see uh Chris Alcott hosting a ton of tournaments at Sherwood like he’s been doing and he

Puts out awesome player packs too he did custom jerseys this last year he did awesome custom stamp disc this last year so I see him doing more of that and he does a lot of Innova stuff which isn’t easy is a big requirement for running so surprising to me is such a different

Requirement to get in of stuff at your tournament than than every tournament that’s sponsored by DD like hey I got another DD mini sweet work with that I outside of those um kind of sanctioned event things other than the flex darts I’m I’m a little worried SL curious of

What the local Minis and scenes are going to look like as far as doubles if there’s going to be match play um weekly singles the participation um without Reservoir and red which are courses you can go to any day of the week regardless of the weather those two courses we relied upon

So heavily for years and now they’re gone yeah and if you have a rainy day if you have a cloudy if you have a bad weather day it’s like you can’t just go play hman East or West you can’t just go play moreart you can’t just go play Blue

Yeah um so the options are kind of limited as as far as like the weekly non-sanctioned local things so that part of it kind of sucks like we’re going to still go play rain shine and have fun but um yeah some of those non-sanctioned doubles and singles and

Cash rounds like those were those were a highlight of mine weekly so that that part I’m kind of worried about I think some of the the Staples as far as the sanction things are just going to get better um that’s my take I like that I man I missed res on Christmas Day

Actually I got to get get a chance to go out and play rip um and I would go to Rez that’s in it’s my close this course so that was H I think that we’ll see a we’ll see maybe one or maybe two courses pop up that’s what I hope that’s what I

Fifth course on Hyman that’s crazy well the noo the babyman the city the city property of like that Park what we call baby hman or old Heyman uhhuh I don’t know if you could even consider that a course within the 18s Pond well perks and Recreation didn’t

Have [ __ ] to do with baby put another n holes at baby Heyman there’s another nine out there they have plenty of land through those know it’s going to take a little cleaning out and oh my God you imagine combine east and west and there’s just a lot with with hman that

Is you know it’s the cities they do have a master plan for that they may want to eventually do something with it as far as other activities out there you know what’s funny about that master plan is when you get another mayor that Master Plan goes out the window yeah it really

Does the mayor it’s like stal and he’s in there for double digit years then that that Master Plan might take eight years yeah so and then if somebody else comes in and they don’t really feel like that’s part of their master plan then they just dump that master plan that’s

Why it’s so important to move on that stuff well there was a little talk with the new Rec director over at the city of Little Rock um and what’s his name I don’t know I don’t really care anymore either because I won’t be working for the city so

Different courses in the area my con concern is n of players that but also not concerned about the amount of players the people that are going to be able to take care of them that is a good right now I feel like we already have courses that are like not taken care of

Okay that’s when you rely on your the Disc Golf Community just like every Community across this nation I know I went to the Tulsa one and I met talked to those guys yes you have to put in some uh volunteer time as he knows as I know

As one of the awards we didn’t vote on was volunteer the we award I’m I’m going to no I was going to call actually call it to Chris Wyman Ward and I was going to give it to somebody else so we’ll move on to that so um give it to

You you we’ve all done a lot of work out at cor well I shouldn’t say we all have we have and we have firewood last week point though do you want to do that for another three courses I don’t mind listen there’s no way man I don’t mind

That’s not sustainable as long my problem is as long look at te as long as I have a say in what we’re taking care of and what we’re going to do and what work’s going to be done out there I have no problem I’m going to tell you that right

Already don’t fit into a so we’ve talked about this before clubs take adopt a course style you know thing we we we had I’d rather have more options of not maintain courses cuz I know the city L Rock’s not going to maintain [ __ ] yeah you go to beaverfork how many people you

Think actually I mean there might be and I don’t know beaverfork is beautifully clean there’s nothing wrong it’s fully mowed and I have heard that they rum they pay someone that’s correct on the government City contract to mow it and take care of all of it but again that’s

The city doing that paying someone to do it but imagine if Bieber Fork had like a championship level course on it and it was maintained like that I just I’m I’ve always been big quantity over quality guy so always there are ways around quantity over quality yes you mean you

Mean other way around huh quality over quantity quality over quantity good this way I like my women quantity over qual I mean qual wait wait what so real quick there there are there are ways that um you can work with the cities with any City with any municipal

Government and that is through nonprofit and grant writing you find grants that are worth up you know $300,000 it pays for this position for however much anually and it it is funneled through the city so it’s going through a payroll system and that’s you know I’ve been working

With that kind you see plac like P that are private and just PR all the time this is the deal with persimon and cougar we hear from cougar a lot more I like I like Grant and everything he’s been always been nice to me and I’ve

Worked a ton out at Pimon they do it on their own dollar they B and it’s in the and they that’s their own gas that uh pran’s out there mowing with you get smart about where you mow and how you mow and what you don’t moan what

You do you care more you take more pride in it because it is a business it is their business that that is more incentive here’s here’s one other plug for the the local courses and the maintenance and the issue there courses like Reservoir they had no grass to mow true

That’s a great point it was hilly based on the terrain R the tead when they installed when when lcy and all his boys installed those teads that was a local effort to put those teap pads in shout out Kenny Williams Kenny Williams that bench bled through everything in that

Tornado ain’t that crazy so crazy it but but those guys put the teads in they put the baskets in it didn’t really need much maintenance you know and as you played it yeah you’d kick the sticks to the edge of the Fairway and like You’ get you know yeah but even the fairways

Were all rocks and stuff like so if if we get courses like that I agree and and and to your point though Mike like we’re thinking in our heads like a lot of these uh highman courses their old golf courses their older properties where it’s a lot of mowing required there

There is a lot of work required to make it as fun and playable as it could be but if we had those old courses that we kind of lost yeah it doesn’t really require that much the less like month a month that’s my thing is like like what

You said is like the big community support for like the big Pro projects like teap pads all for that the problem is when you start to get into that month-to-month cleanup need to mow te so that it’s playable because the city won’t mow it that’s where it starts to

Become a problem we uh we cleaned up reservoir for our tournament for the uh be but you clean it up and it’s good for how long like Way Long good till the tornado that’s what I’m saying like way longer than te’s where it’s like you mow

And clean it up and then a week later it rains just as hot you know yeah season dependent for sure so it’s uh I mean April’s in Arkansas then then that that spot down there that Creek man that’s what you sign up for when you just like

Uh you know that was Grant and AD Cougar’s biggest thing is about yeah that’s what you sign up for when you start these courses you don’t have to mow the whole Fairway mow you or whatever you think the Fairway should be leave off Fairway High and that’s not

Your pro I mean stay on The Fairway just a perfect example is stonelinks that’s you cut out a path you don’t have to mow everything mow the stuff that’s where you want to where ideal Landing spots and Fairways are you keep that nice and pristine you don’t mow 40 feet to the

Right how much does the city do at ston legs do you know they do a lot they do they have they actually have no clue there so they’ve got you know honestly I don’t know I shouldn’t say that cuz I don’t know I’m I’m I’m fairly certain

They do the heavy end of the mowing I’m not sure they get out weedy but whatever somebody was paid at some point to tractor moow out there it was it was an independent but also in the city of Little Rock somebody was paid to mow moreart and it never

Far south um I do talk to Chase and he’s a perfect example of somebody who works in the middle of the city and then goes north there’s no way he want there’s nothing I can do to convince him to come down to tracks yeah to sit in that

Traffic to come to tracks tracks right so then you got to rely on all the people who play tracks and and some hot springs folks that you know Lucas comes up to them uh you know you rely on like the Wolfpack guys to come to those things uh that’s like me driving to

Conway from downtown that’s exactly right so and and it goes for the same way somebody who lives South they don’t want to commute North to go playing it that’s why Burns and resz was so ideal it didn’t really kind of resonate until this year running Minis and seeing the low numbers

Um and the courses I had available were more hard because we didn’t know the guy shutting the park uh up at himman what time he was going to be shutting the park up we knew more heart we had and again for as seedy as it seems and sadly

Some little never had a problem out there never have had a problem out there maybe slipping on a condom landing on a needle but but never have had a problem out there and I’ve been the lone I’ve been the minority out there and I could have got just rolled over and matter of

That we are seeing a lot of celebrities kind of start to openly get into it like you got Dylan C who’s now owning and designing and helping operate two courses Dylan CE who’s that pcture for the white socks well there and uh JJ Watt okay was on his social media plan

Yep you got obviously you got Bert whether you love him or B Bert is really the guy who is the driver of getting mainstream to the biggest view getter yes that’s right and the more people watch him go out there and be all what I haven’t even watched any of but I know

Who he is and my guess is I listen to his podcast he’s drunk and he’s having a good time he’s kind of he he kind of plays the yeah the party character and he’s he’s got a movie that was like all about that has the machine no listen

He’s Van Wilder of national amp we me yeah and when he came to Little Rock last year for his Comedy Tour uh people ran into him at Burns Park like we’ve got buddies that have pictures with well you know how that worked out is brissy

Was um doing the working at the arena I work with him there and they needed somebody to take him to uh play and Zach got the call from brissy and oh that’ be a great job and and it was and I think that was the first time he really posted

About disc golf and and it and that course is no that course is no longer there he and I talked about that you know when I was hanging out with him as I was serving him as catering food um but I’m just playing yeah yeah I know I thought about putting

A basket out there and just seeing but um can I say one more thing about the 2024 thing yes we’re also really actively trying to get into like bigger media Outlets so it’s like you know the top 10 stuff that’s something that I directly uh impact with like social

Posts and trying to get H on Sports in our top 10 when crazy Aces happen we’ve got our media Department trying to get stuff like the CBS Sports and so Pim Kardashian just to talk about it dude I mean her Pho could go out so so what’s

What’s most beneficial for you in the position you’re in to make that a reality for dgn what do you mean like what what does it actually take to get on Sports CER top 10 like I remember seeing pho’s you know crazy Albatross shot you know years ago

And I mean little McCracken made it so we have like a whole protocol where we try when like big Aces happen like probably the biggest Ace was Calvin’s next biggest was jyn’s and it’s like making sure that we send it to the people that work at Sports Center tag

Them on everything and then through the power of the engagement that will get enough attention that they’ll see it and now it’s to the point point where relationships have been developed with the people at sports center and the people picking the clips they don’t see disc golf and go oh that’s stupid right

Now they know it and so through that like we get a lot more like even not top tier highlights that are getting shown on like sports center I don’t care what sport you do when they because they showed the the Holy Grail shot deal whatever they call it holy grail yeah

The Conrad shot yeah they should I mean I dude and and they set it up well and they do a good job of they just and say oh here’s disc golf right they try yeah the thing is like they’re also looking for engagement right like it’s it’s a

Tournament and and maybe that’s not like growing the sport but like in central Arkansas when you’re trying to grow the sport with we always talk about we want bigger better B tiers and like bigger tournaments and bigger payouts bigger cash payouts they had thousands of dollars from Subaru

That was donated uh to the pro payout so like realistically growing the sport in Little Rock Central L you know Central Arkansas that tournament does a huge part of that and they help burn victims a little kid burn victims which I think is a great um I don’t even like to think

About that but yeah the charity payout towards it too so that tournament alone that L’s run in the last two years not to mention all the things he’s done in the past you know probably two decades in the courses you were to say probably who grew the

Sport locally hard hard to argue and I love you w within the last 10 years is James for sure didn’t think I should be on there but I yeah no um I I have to go back and look but growing the sport has been much more minute compared to James Ley we all

But if I had both of them in my backyard and I could play any of them at any time I’d still have to say Perman and I would say tracks because we’re two different players yeah because you throw far and there’s not very many buriable holes but

P but pmen and all their layouts the chillos the blues the Reds like I could play I could play versions of pmen that feel like track short to short you could play like five you could play different course there so many options at Pon and

If it was in my backyard and same thing for tracks I would still just say yeah I could I go play Pon all day at the tracks on the long T so good long the long I would have to go with tracks with wolf because of the amount of
