Discovering the elusive “athletic stance” isn’t about adhering to a prescribed pose. It’s a dialogue between body and movement. Grab your trusty PVC pipe and allow your body to be the teacher. Stand sideways, relax, and initiate slow, methodical turns. Feel the fatigue set in, observe how your body instinctively adjusts for efficiency. The gradual bending of your legs and the subtle forward lean reveal the ideal athletic stance for your swing. Don’t rush this process; let your body guide you to this optimal posture. Once you’ve found it, ingrain this sensation, embody it at address. The body, in its wisdom, has revealed the posture that harmonizes best with your swing. Embrace it. How do you get into an athletic stance I’m sure everybody’s been told at one time or another that you should just get into an athletic stance at a dress but what is that well I’m going to show you or actually I’m going to let your body show

You take your heavy PVC pipe that’s something all origami golfers have so I’m sure you’ve got one just put it across your chest like this I’m going to stand sideways so you’ll get a better view stand up straight but don’t concentrate on remaining straight just be relaxed and just turn just keep

Turning slow and easy movements turn now as you turn your body will begin to tire and when your body tires it looks to protect itself it looks to protect itself by putting you in the most efficient position to make this turn so as you start to Tire you’ll

Notice your posture is changing your legs are getting a little Bend in them your back is starting to Bend forward a little bit at the hips you can see the result this Rod is no longer turning flat with the ground it’s actually at an angle and as you get more and more

Tired you’ll get into more and more of an efficient position to make the turn you get more angle in your back your legs will have a little bit more bounce a little bit more Bend you can see this rod we take an e even steeper angle it takes that angle

Because I’m still twisting around my spine but unlike when I was standing straight up I’m now bent forward at the hips just keep making that turn just get into more and more of an athletic stance just let your body teach you don’t try to micromanage your body tell it what it should

Do just let your body teach you that may take a while for you to get into The Stance and that’s fine just slow easy turns when you finally have gotten to the point where you don’t think your posture is changing I want you to just come back to

Square and drop the PVC pipe stay in The Stance and I want you to get a feel for it stick your hands and put them in front of you now this is the athletic stance this is the right posture you should take it a dress because your body has just shown

You this is the best posture for making a back turn just get a good feel for it just come to this posture at a dress and that’s how you take an athletic stance if you ever forget how to use it or how to do it just grab your pipe
