All right Taylor so uh sizzling 64 to start the week here at the Sony how would you assess the day and what was clicking for you uh very happy with how I started I mean obviously new season uh month and a half without a tournament you don’t really know what’s
Going to come out cuz you start working on things and uh just practicing and to come out here it was nice to have this kind of start we definitely got a good tea time being able to play the first like six holes with no wind and uh so
That definitely helped but it was nice to come out here and put a low one was there anything in particular you wanted to work on in your game during the time off and how was the balance between work and relaxation yeah it was I didn’t really relax at all I
Mean had a couple wine nights that’s about it but uh worked pretty really hard uh in December and I was hoping they’d work out and so far they have which is good the ball striking was definitely a lot better and that’s the main thing I was
Working on in December what in your ball striking were you working on kind of specifically just I mean in simple terms just compressing the ball a little bit more hitting it with less Loft I was kind of scooping everything and wasn’t really a consistent strike um so that was kind of
The main issues and what um kind of I guess inspired you to work so hard because a lot of people can kind of you know use that as a time to kind of take it easier but for you to decide to get to work like that yeah it’s just
Something I’ve always done I’ve always worked very hard in in the game of golf and pretty much anything I do uh just golf I’ve ever been able to do it for a long time whereas it’s something else I’ll do it for like a month and I’ll get get bored with it so uh
Yeah is there who were you when you were working in the offseason where were you working out of mainly and who were you working with just in uh Vegas and uh Grant Booth the guy catting for me best friend pretty much and uh he helped me develop that which was such a hard
Feeling to learn so I mean it’s getting more and more comfortable it’s still not the most like familiar territory for me but uh as long as I’m doing the right stuff it should work out in the long run CAD your teacher ah kind of kind of
Both well he’s like my best friend dummy back there how how long you guys been uh been buddies uh so we met through a guy that I went to college with red Bob is what we call him th those two are probably my best friends for sure
And uh I met him uh Grant Booth through through red Bob but he’s from Grant’s from Australia um so I mean he’s just a character he’s a person I was in instantly liked just because of his personality um obviously a great golfer played in the Monday qualifiers and
Stuff uh hopefully you’ll see his name out here soon um how’ you spend you worked pretty hard on the game dur off season you do any go to Damon do anything no I didn’t I didn’t go to Damon I should have uh I mean I was just in Vegas working on the
Game and kind of working on the house a little bit uh just kind of hanging mirr and doing a bunch of house stuff you had a new one yeah towards like the middle of last year uh got a new house and um it it’s been great it’s
I mean any anytime you can have a new house it’s nice it’s a good feeling what was the best putt or best birdie of the round today uh I would say the best birdie I had was 15 I hit a four iron I hit it
Really good but I hit it left and the rough this week is nasty and I didn’t know what the ball was going to do I hit a pitch and wedge and it only went about 40 ft in the air and eventually rolled over the green and then I made it from the uh
Kind of the Fairway behind the green I mean it’s a birdie you’re I mean it’s a one in a 100 so it was nice to get that one you got off to a good start here last year what is it about this place that you like uh I don’t know I think
Just being in Hawaii uh being able to practice a lot coming into a tournament I think helps a lot as well uh but I just like being here thank you sweet all right thank you guys
