Scores here we’re going to see golfers going low each and every day one of the key stats that I looked at is opportunities gained who’s going to put themselves ahead of the field with the birdie look inside 15 ft that’s going to be a trend you’ll see throughout this
Video but most importantly what I looked at is approach play who is someone that can put it close from 125 yards to 200 yards because we’ve seen people Hideki matama won this tournament in 2022 he’s one of the best approach players that we think of well he was not great on
Approach let me tell you in 20122 you know what won him the golf tournament a little bit of luck but his putter won him the golf tournament so I’m really looking at players that can get hot with the Putter and also are going to be razor sharp from 125 to 200 yards and
In similar to last week I am going to completely ignore around the green and this could absolutely be a hot take maybe you’ll see other people at least including it a little bit in their model but it’s not going to be me I think if you want to cash an outright bet this
Week your player better not be off the green they’re going to need to be in and around 10 to 20 feet and taking looks at birdie and Eagle time and time again before we dive into the betting board let’s take a quick look at the top 10
Players in my custom model this week coming in at number one was ludig I expect we’re probably going to see ludvig near the top of most people’s custom models in this tournament and probably many others to come he’s got all the talent in the world I’m not
Going to back him this week I’ll explain a little bit more a little bit later on in the video coming in at number two is Russell Henley now this was no surprise to me when I thought of the Sony Open this week Russell Henley was the first
Name that came to mind he has got an incredible track record here and we’ll talk a little bit about him a little bit later as well number three Eric Cole Eric Cole he’s been hot what else is there to say I I think that he finished
Tied for fifth last week at the century Tournament of Champions I expect we’re probably going to see another good week from him this week number four an extremely surprising I don’t even know why he’s here in the top of my model but number four Eric Van royan number five
Ryan Moore I think Ryan Moore could be a pretty good long shot take a look at what he does well here you might be surprised he could also be a pretty good DraftKings play number six Adam spinson number seven JT Poston number eight is Cam Davis and number nine Cory Connor

He had some good rounds at the century Tournament of Champions but we’re not going to back him here at the Sony Open Matt Fitzpatrick I love Matt Fitzpatrick I think he’s a great golfer however he’s not the type of guy that’s going to win a birdie Fest Matt Fitzpatrick’s going
To go grind away a 4day tournament that has a score of -5 – 8 -2 maybe -5 but he’s not going to win in a birdie Fest and for that reason I’m out on Matt Fitzpatrick this week next is Russell Henley Russell Henley is known for his
Course history here that’s why you see him near the top of the board we’re going to get into him a little bit later because you bet it we’ll be betting him this week Brian Harmon 25 to one I I talked about Brian Harmon last week I I
Think this could be a great great year for Brian Harmon however I like when Brian Harmon is kind of the snail under the rock the snake in the grass I like when he’s going to be someone that’s going to sneak up on you and can kind of
Come out of nowhere and he’s got that way around he’s got that way around the course where he’s just going to sneak up on you and you don’t see him coming at 25 to1 near the top of the board his best finish here is tied for 32nd I
Just can’t get to him this week I could see him having a top 10 finish and playing pretty well but we’re not going to back Brian Harmon to win Willie Z I love will zator he’s honestly one of my favorite golfers on the tour I was I was
So bummed last year when he had to miss so much of the Season he’s one of the best approach players in the game I mean you talk about Justin Thomas Colin morawa and will zorus and I think if he was healthy he would maybe be the favorite in this Golf Tournament this
Number just tells me Willie Z is not quite 100% he may not be even 80% yet he played in the hero tournament a couple months ago or so and he was not very good it was it was pretty bad in fact if you go look at the results he was one of
The worst in many of all The Strokes game categories I just don’t see this being a good week for Willie Z but hopefully he gets warmed up and he starts working his way back to where we absolutely believe he can be next up is Cory Connors Cory Connors has finished

Model this is a pretty damn good course fit for him he was playing extremely well at the century Tournament of Champions he finished tied for fifth I think that come Sunday you bet Eric Cole you’re going to get a chance to sweat out the bet but he’s probably just going

20 when it comes to 150 to 200 yards from a approach however he’s 76th in Opportunities gained over his last 30 rounds Cam Davis has the distance if he can keep it in the Fairway he has the distance to come in with some short irons some wedges and be able to pick
This course apart from an approach perspective I’m just not sure I can trust his Putter and execution when it comes to making birdie putts but hey again I I don’t really hate Cam Davis Benin on bin on is coming in here when you talk about a man that can rip a
Course apart with their driver and hit it long he’s someone who is going to destroy it off of the te but he’s not someone that you think of when you talk about a great approach player or someone that’s great at putting however last year he gained seven strokes putting at
The Golf Course well guess what his finish was tied for 12th if you’re going to come here and gain seven strokes in putting and you can’t finish better than tied for 12th see you we’re not going to be betting you this week this next man oh I felt for him
This week sah almost took home the century Tournament of Champions he was one shot away from sending this to a playoff with Chris Kirk he was outside the top 50 in my model I kept taking Tak a look at the stats I took a look at last year he was
Pretty horrendous off the te he was pretty horrendous on approach he’s in the top 20 when it comes to birdie average and birdier better percentage and if you were watching the coverage this past week he mentioned in an interview just how nice it is to start to get to play some of
These tournaments for the second time around I think this is going to be an improvement upon sa’s performance from last year and I bet you you see him in the top 20 and probably put together a pretty good performance he’s playing great golf but I’m not sure I’m ready to
Back him yet again this is a course that really rewards people that continue to come back year in and year out and perform and play well at this course and saw doesn’t quite have enough of those appearances in his tool belt yet so we’re going to pass on him this week but
Again he’ll probably be a great play Matt coocher 40 to1 he’s won and was incredible here in 2019 I think he could be a fun top 10 bet but I just can’t get there on Matt coocher this week next up is JT Poston I was this
Close to adding JT Poston to my card this week I just couldn’t do it his best finished here was t21 last year he’s been great in my model he looks like a great course fit but he’s sitting right next to people like Hideki Hideki won this tournament hideki’s won lots of
Tournaments Hideki has a Green Jacket the problem with Hideki Matt siyama is he’s the ultimate wild card I think there could be some value on him but he’s like riding a roller coaster that can go off the tracks because he could withdraw out of nowhere and you’re stuck
Losing your bet and you have no more entertainment even for the rest of the week so I’m passing on JT I’m passing on Hideki could totally see them winning it but not for me this week OE I love him this week frankly I I love him this year
I think this could be a breakout year for him again he’s never played here before so he’s 13th in birdie average he’s 13th and birdie are better I believe these greens can be a little tricky they can fool you if you haven’t played here before don’t be surprised if
He’s lingering in the top five the top 10 I’m going to be betting him top 10 I won’t bet him out right though uh so I could see it going either way he really isn’t the best putter either so these greens could swallow him whole but
I mean he he makes birdies and he makes him in bunches he’s a guy in years to come he will probably Excel here and I wouldn’t blame you for taking him but I I I wouldn’t do it he’s he’s not going to win he’s never played here just don’t do it to

That he is incredible at w I will say I just don’t have it in me he’s not in the best form however this is one of the few places on the PGA tour where I will say throw out course form and take a look at course history a little bit closer than
Maybe you would in a normal week so with all of that said let’s go to why we come to this channel why you all are here all six of you that watched last week let’s go to the picks for the 2024 Sony Open with your first pick and the 20124
Sony Open it is none other than Russell Henley Russell Henley won this event in 2013 he was runner up to a playoff from an incredible shot by Hideki matama in 2022 he’s second in Strokes gained on short courses over his last 36 rounds he didn’t play Great Golf last week so I
Would say typically in any other week this would probably be a week where maybe Russell Henley drifts down the board a little bit we talk about waiting a little bit till Wednesday to bet him maybe you’re going to get you know a 30 a 35 to one or something like on that on
Him as he drifts but nope this is Russell Henley at Wy he’s third in Strokes game on par 4’s less than 460 yard he’s 18th in approach he he’s won the tournament before why will he not win it this year I I am putting my marbles behind Russell Henley and I
Absolutely think you should too this next man the next two picks really are two of my favorite picks that I’ve had in quite some time Justin Rose he finished second here in his pre previous appearance now that was in 2017 so that was 7 years ago
But Justin Rose if you recall he played some great golf last year he’s playing Great Golf Now Rose is someone who I think can absolutely contend and absolutely win this week he is third from 150 to 175 yards he is eighth from 175 to 200 yards about 65% of the shots
Are going to come from 12 25 yard to 200 yards he is third and eighth from 150 to 200 yards he is seventh in Strokes gained approach oh and when he gets it on the putting surface he is 26 in Strokes game putting and you’ve heard me
Talk about this the whole time this is a course where it rewards you if you come back and you play it Justin Rose is fourth in Strokes gained at yaa Country Club he knows this course like the back of his hand I fully expect Justin Rose
To be at the center of the conversation on Sunday next none other than swamp ass Lucas Glover Lucas Glover he he’s not really been great here outside of 2022 when he finished tied for fifth that said he’s top eight from 150 to 200 yards seu Kim was the best from 150 to 175
Yards Lucas Glover is 12th in my custom model he’s 14th in Greens and regulations he’s 15th in birdie or better across the past 30 rounds oh and by the way he won the Windam championship last year who Minnie call a comp course to the Sony Open H who won
The Sony Open that also won Windom seiw Kim in 2021 do not pass the betting board without clicking submit bet on Lucas Glover I think he will at the very least give you a sweaty sweaty Sunday my last pick in the 2024 Sony Open is a bit of a dart throw
But I like it Nick Taylor 100 to one the same Nick Taylor that went to a playoff in his home countryes open and drained it from over 80 feet yeah that Nick Taylor he’s finished tied for seventh and tied for 11th in his last two starts here
He’s already won on the PGA tour he is in the top 35 36 and approach he can hit it close and he’s not a bad putter either Nick Taylor at 100 to1 I just think that’s way too long of a number sign me up for that one we’ll be riding
