House Hank Parker will be there um I think I’m not sure if he’ll be at all three I know he’ll be at least two of them um Corey Johnston I think is going to be at the Martinsville location we got Keith Colmes coming uh we got a good
Lineup of Pros going to be a good time good seminars good food a lot of really cool uh vendors are going to be setting up at all these locations oh I forgot one person who’s coming that you may not want to miss it’s not you cuz you’re not
Able to come I know I’m not going to be there yeah but um if you follow bass master Elite Series or even if you live under a rocking the fish in the industry you probably still heard of this guy but Mr Matt Robertson’s going to be oh
Really at I think he’s going to be at the open house in Martinsville Virginia yeah so if you want to meet on them um and see if your mullets longer than his it really is a cool experience like it’s I know they call it an open house but
It’s like they really go overboard like like Matt said they have unique vendors set up selling stuff you know local lure makers and stuff like that like all kind of stuff you can find there and it’s it’s a neat experience if you hadn’t ever come out come out look at them talk
To the guys talk to all the pros that are going to be there check out the new Ranger Boats obviously but I mean they have a lot to offer as far as tackle and the showroom and the food and the camaraderie and just pretty much watching Everybody all the pros pick on
Each other that’s worth it right there to me yeah I mean last year it was a pretty heated debate between Dudley and Hank oh that was the best debate I’ve ever heard the Zebra muscles and the goes yeah yeah at one point I thought they were going to fight like I really
Thought dley and Hank Parker were getting a fist fight who who who’ your money be on if they got in a fight I’m going say Hank because I would have jumped in to help Hank just cuz he’s a little bit older and I feel like several other people would have helped as well
Buley is a real patient fellow too though you know I sense sarcasm in that statement and fr’s GNA be there too an English choice I thinking he was G get one about that one I I have I heard maybe Brian Schmidt might be coming to the okay spale this is just the pictures
I saw on the ad so maybe they they’re not all listed I doubt they’re all listed because last time I talked to Trent and Chad and some of the crew English choice and all the locations they were working on getting some more Pros to more of the marrier right right
Um but yeah so it’s going to be a good lineup going to be a good time like like Brian said they they know how to do an open house up right I’ve been to some open houses in the past and they’re they’re nice they’re small um they’re pretty pretty uh pretty contained but
This one’s pretty big and pretty it’s almost like a mini boat show that you go to like their dealerships are pretty good size but like if you go like you go there and spend three hours and feel like you’ve been there 10 minutes yeah I
Mean and the tackle stores are gang do a incredible job with a tackle there too I was going to say it’s insane dude they got a full lineup of about everything in the industry a lot of hard to find stuff JDM stuff got of course they got pulse
Fish Lures in the house um they uh oh real Qui just to follow up on this super big savings right now on all 2023 models that are left over they’ve also Trent told me they’ve discounted their used boats which you don’t hear that very often but they discounted their use

UPF 50 protection on top I mean I’m you know as you get older you don’t want to end up having those sun spots on top of your hands and or skin cancer I love the guy to death old Smiley Wright’s got you know he’s got a bunch of them on top of
His hands from all the all the bass he’s wound up over the years and all the tournaments he’s won but um those those do a really good job and we’re both in our 4S Todd we won’t tell your age but you’re a touch older than us and but not

Welsh is the six Kyle Welter that’s right that was the one that came as a surprise to me because it was like under the radar and I don’t know if he he got in at the last minute or what happened or how and y’all got to deal with tater hog next year oh
T I talked to Tater the other day I text him and I said wait I said I just saw the npfl roster and I know there might be more than one Matthew MCB in the United States I said but this is you right he said oh it’s me oh yeah on the
List he told me like four or five weeks ago he was fishing he like I’m signed up on the private angler list on our private page it shows everybody that had signed up and it said AKA Tater hog that’s cool that’s how everybody knows him know T but yeah I would say

But my prediction is that um oh man I was going to say all nine but I might just say eight eight of the nine Bassmaster Elite series events this year will be one using forward faing sonar eight of the nine that’s my prediction wow is that a bold prediction

Called me yesterday to ask me a question about licensing and he said um and I couldn’t I think this is right but to fish the choan and stuff where y’all are going a regular North Carolina Inland freshwater license is good to go there right I don’t know I haven’t that’s what
I told him I said yeah you’re fine that’s you’re good I don’t know I mean that’s something I’ll look into because I don’t know if you got to have I think you only have to have a saltwater license if well I don’t know if you go I
Think it’s I think it only applies once you go an x amount of distance offshore or something like that well if you go more than three miles it’s different but that’s you don’t have to have a oh yeah okay that’s right so it must be x amount

Check on one of the two title rivers in uh in 2024 I have a prediction that is 1 million per true and going to happen it’s it’s so funny that Matt Robertson is going to fish naked in the tournament no he might wear that hat you sent that’s not my prediction have you
Seen this hat that we found you haven’t seen this hat we can’t show it on the show it’s got dirty bad words on it my prediction is that Thrift shorts will be below his knees all year next year he might not get a chance oh yeah I CU we got a June Florida
Tournament oh yeah you’ll be wearing shorts I’ll have you’ll you’ll have the cargo out I’ll have you know that Blackfish has got some new shorts the Swift and the cast series wait the Swift yeah they like after Taylor Swift I don’t know if they named them be smart
Be smart trending right now she’s trendy so is it like a hybrid swag and Thrift it’s a swift is that the name came from no I didn’t have any input on it but below the knees um I think on me they’re almost below the knees not quite do they have five Pockets though
Yeah how many pockets they do so but it’s not like a cargo short though it’s got like the little pliers pocket on the side uhhuh they’re very nice are you going to be wearing these shorts I am going to be wearing these short even if they don’t come below your knees yes
Promise yes if I see him with shorts on above his knees they black everybody on the BPT has to take pictures black fish is not going to let me look bad they going to make him look right have you ever seen Brian with shorts above the

Defo and John Cox will win a tournament without forward facing John Cox definitely because at lanir the last npfl event he he he had a top 10 and did not have a single graph on that boat he had just gotten that boat right before the event and just and just fished in
The dirt the whole the whole time I love it you can do that in the fall around here though and have a chance to Y like you may not can compete for the win but you have a chance to compete he did say though that he’s actually going to put
It on his boat cuz even Keith Carson has has embraced it and starting and John said he was going to do that in the off season too and and try to get a little better with it yeah I mean it you know it it it is becoming one of those things
Especially the way if Cox doesn’t have one which every you know here’s the thing I get tired of hearing this too because people are like I think you and I mentioned this on the show people are like well yeah you can compete without it look at John Cox and I’m like wait
Just a dang minute yeah every ain’t a John it’s John Cox y’all like you ain’t you can’t compare yourself or any other fisherman on the planet to John Cox like that’s a different he’s a different kind of fisherman has a completely different mindset he’s 100% committed I mean he’s
He’s like that’s just a different that’s he’s a different animal I mean let’s don’t say you can’t compete you can always compete yes yes but it’s whether you’re competing for 10% of the fish that live on that body of water that are doing something different or a 90% of
The fish fish that live on that body of water that the Ford faing on our guys are fishing for so it’s you you definitely can still compete but you’ve got your work cut out for you because you’ve got to find the needle inside the hay stack that pretty much nobody else
Is looking for and I’ve said that’s rare I’ve said this on a lot of other podcasts I did this fall but I think like last year in the npfl three of the six events I didn’t use forward facing sonar because where we were I mean I was throwing swim jig at wri
Patman in 6 Ines of water you know a a flipping a worm at San in two or three foot of water I didn’t need it and I think if I don’t know how to say it exactly but um if the organizations would go to different places like the npfl has done
They can take a lot of that forward facing out of it and go to places that you know old school shallow water power fishing if if they wanted to do that and I think some of the organizations are used to getting the same host fee to go

A lot of that a lot of that stuff and and some of his points were very interesting about um understanding fish movements based off the the evolution of forward face and sonar and how that’s separating one guy from another you know cadences and bait selections are huge deals but how understanding fish
Movements and exactly why they do it and a lot of us kind of knew that before but now we can visually see it so it’s like it it’s it’s teaching us faster but at the same time who’s just ahead of the next guy you know what I’m saying and
Understanding fish movements and and how they move and why they move um and then exactly what to pick up and when and things like that because for fa of sonar is not a cure all by no means it’s just it’s just and it’s here to stay it’s not
Going anywhere and I I kind of look at it the other way around I’ve always been kind of The Tech Guy I really feel like if I win an event it’s going to be with forward facing sonar and and I was the guy years ago when Lance first came out

The splash they run from the splash that’s the trth you can try all of the new techniques and the Asian shake and all that and it’s hard to catch them and you know a lot of the fish at Cherokee being caught right now are eight or 10
Foot of water or less now it’s almost like that technique is pushing fish back to the bank almost oh I’m sure it is or it’s taking a lot of pressure off of Bank fish for sure that’s kind of what I think we’re going to see like I don’t
Know that we’re going to see more fish on the bank I think those Bank fish are just going to see less and less pressure and they’re going to they’re going to get back like they were 10 years ago when they you got more bites on the bank and I think it’s we’re going
To you think it’ll balance out a little bit more I think we’re we’re going to reach a balance but also Lakes change like that’s what a lot of people Fisheries change and a lot of people don’t put that into consideration like I’ll use Lake Norman and Lake wey for an
Example because that’s two local lakes that Matt and I have both spent a lot of time on but you take 10 or 12 years ago at Lake Norman if you weren’t throwing at the bank you were not competing to win yeah like 100% y but those type of
Fish don’t live on the bank anymore that group of fish that generation they’re dead and gone they’re no longer live there and the fishery has changed so when you have the introduction of new Bait fish New Habitat um water Clarity changes nutrient levels changes those fish change their habits and their
Feeding um areas and their feeding zones based on what the most prevalent forage in that lake is and that they will actually change the habits of those fish I mean I know I’ve heard examples of that from Lake Murray back in the day when the it was full of grass you know
Back in the early 2000s before they killed all the grass and when they killed all the grass in ‘ 06 it was like that generation of fish all they knew was living shallow in grass and every one of them were Giant and they were dumb and they were in shallow water on
Stupid stuff like one rock or one stick 5 penal but once that generation of fish died off hering got in the lake there’s no more grass there’s not a shallow population of bass most of the year on Lake Murray that you can compete with yeah no not not that you can compete
With I going to say there’s still shallow bass but it’s not where you need to be so that answers I’m straight chilling his his uh his question which I’m gonna ask you uh where you know what are you competing in what level where are you fishing things like that um

Events to four day events um you know as far as managing fish for four days yep um yeah I could see that that was a big challenge yeah um but but still I mean any one of those nine can win one okay but you also got to think about practice
For the rookies that are coming into the Elite Series so they fished nine opens last year with five days of practice with 200 boats on a small body of water yeah whereas now they’re getting cut down to three days of practice but you’ve only got what 9 100 and something
Boats out there yeah so your obvious stuff comes into play more in the elite Series in the MLF and it does in an open or Toyota series type event because you don’t have as many boats on a small body of water right that’s true that’s true
100% true cuz I know that was like my my number one rule back in the day of FLW when we first started when 200 boats and unlimited practice was I would never make a cast at a bridge Because by the time practice was over you cannot catch

Have six pulse fish rods uh which are going to be four casting and two spinning and then we’re going to do six rods in the mat ay tournament Edition which is five casting and one spinning and we’ve transcended all of those rods across a lot of the patterns you know
The type ofc ations that the everyday person would fish with you know a spinner bait Rod a jerk bait Rod a jig Rod a frog Rod you know those those kind of things even we’ve got a composite rod in Matt’s lineup that’ll be great for throwing a square Bill and a Rattle Trap
And stuff like that on so we tried to tried to make these really you know for the for the everyday angler out there that can use these in in their tournaments or in their just in their everyday fishing so I think we did a really good job job transcending all the
Rods throughout the different applications that are most fished yeah it’s it’s funny I’ve always tried to keep and and thri you’re probably pretty s similar with your signature line with Fitzgerald but one thing that I I see the industry with now is almost almost too much to choose from you know what I
Mean yeah there really is and you keep like you have several rods that you use for multiple techniques yes um we have we’re trying to narrow it down there’s obviously going to be certain rods that we know moving forward will have to fill in the with and we we plan to add rods
Later um like a a big plug Rod something to throw a 10xd on something to throw a Max more nich an Alabama Rig Rod things like that but um overall we tried to meet the needs of the everyday angler in in the 12 rods that we have and I think
We pretty much covered at all um think and and it’s a lot easier for all of us I mean we have a lot of different rods you and I both but it’s a lot easier to have five rods that we can use for 12 techniques as opposed to 12 rods for 12
Techniques you know that’s something that fitgerald did several years ago so with my signature series line uh we kind of geared it toward a specific technique and which it’ll kind of most of every rod in my signature lineup will cross five or six seven different techniques
But we saw the issue with that and actually designed the allpurpose series which is your your most used lengths your most used actions you know we’ve got a a 66 we’ve got a 7t we’ve got a 73 and a 7 six from medium medium heavy and heavy to to kind of cover your
Allpurpose deal just to to kind of steer away from that technique specific side with that allpurpose series and the fish fishing flying up and that’s what we did with every blank of these 12 every Rod of all 12 they have um the descriptions on them and we have some pretty cool
Names that we’ll say for later to launch but we have some pretty cool names of some of these rods but it’s not like like to your point like here the general masses is not looking to pick up a rod that says ChatterBait rod and cuz in their mind they’re fing I got
To throw a chatter that’s all I can throw it for um our rods are going to be designed to where they have four or five techniques and they’re going to have a a kind of a nickname to the rod so to speak um but there’s a um have you got
One called the cricet dunker you need more the cricket dunker not is that be like a punch Rod you mean yeah Cricket dunker well see that’s specific though like but yeah we have something that would be that would work for that I mean uh how much money Ryan Willis so Tod you

Companies know about you you know when you talk to it’s a very small industry it is very very small um but it it was an uphill battle for me finally basically at the end of 2023 beginning of 20 uh end of 2022 beginning of 2023
They basically told me um you know we we we’ll provide you rods and reels but we’re cutting your pay this this that and the other and it was at a point to where I didn’t have time to do anything or make a decision or move forward I was
