So looking back at 2023 and looking at the most forgiving driver out on the market probably the Ping g430 Max is a standout from the crowd many call it a cheating stick but Pinger brought out a new driver that is more forgiving more stable than the g430 max going to test
It in this video so the name of this new driver is g430 10K Max and this 10K is referring to 10,000 which is a measurement how we measure Moi exceeding 10,000 is the sort of Holy Grail for most golf manufacturers and it’s a big talking point with many of them this year in
Terms of forgiveness and allowing you to hit more straighter drives and this is exactly what Ping are trying to offer in this driver so to be clear this isn’t replacing any of the other g430 range that’s going to stay through 2024 this is going to be an addition to the range
So I’m going to pitch this driver up against the g430 max which obviously was current last year and is going to be current this year which for me was an incredibly stable Drive and I’ve seen that through many fittings here so obviously we’re going to test that
Against it it’ be really good if we can get some accuracy gains from that model to this one then this is going to be a really good option first instincts when you look at the driver it doesn’t really look any different first glance than what we see in the current g430 lineup
But then when you start to look a little bit closer there is some differences so the LST version we saw that carbon crown on the on the top we’re saving weight and that’s what we’re seeing now in this 10K version so obviously that’s going to help save a little bit of weight it’s
Going to redistribute that in the head to help with this forgiveness levels the other big thing is is the weight at the back of the driving out is fixed it’s not on that movable track and the other big thing as well when you put it down
By that golf ball it’s a big footprint this is long from front to back 4 60 cc but a little bit more of a shallower face which is allowing them to spread that weight further back again helping with that Moi number okay there the first one that wasn’t absolutely flushed touched bottom
A little bit of cuty one but that’s found the Fairway so two and a half spin that’s pretty good and that’s the thing that ping is saying here and a few of the tour guys have put this straight in the bag even though it’s such a back big
Back weight in this which you would always think High launch bit more spin obviously helps with forgiveness it is actually quite a low spinning product which is why the tall players are maybe just dropping this straight in the golf bag soz I can imagine there’s always tradeoffs as these manufacturers are
Trying to generate as much forgiveness but also keeping as much speed and controlling Spin and launch and maximizing distance as well as forgiveness is obviously going to be a challenge as think as tradeoffs As you move that weight around the head and I think what what Ping is sort of saying
Here they they’ve sort of Hit The Sweet Spot with getting that forgiveness but also maintaining that big ball speed and control in spin I mean massively confident you put that down there and it sits pretty Square to be honest so nice sort of sitting product we’ve got that
Carbon effect on the back edge of the uh crown or the back probably 2/3 of the crown we can see that carbon coming through turbulators are still present you’ll either love them or you’ll hate them that’s crushed I think you still got that sort of ping sound there that
We probably going to expect to sort of see and again yeah two2 spin nice numbers there so we’re see many of the similar sort of technology that we see in the g430 lineup we’ve got that forged face that actually is a little bit thinner now than the G4 30 again helping
With that ball speed we’ve got the carbon fly wraps obviously that wraps around that carbon effect there that s we see in that lsst version there so get not replacing weight saving it and then they can redistribute that into this back weight which is heavier than the
430 so this is a 28 G tungsten weight in the back as I say it is fixed and it’s obviously pulled further back because of the head shape or the length of that Golf Club there which again is going to pump up that Moi number wow that’s ripped beautiful ball flight
Honestly this gives you so much confidence down by the golf but you feel like you can just really let it go and and knowing that you’ve got maybe a little bit of backup with that stability maybe on that M hit and I think that’s a great example when you look at that
Strike location that last shot a little bit out that into that toe slightly lower on the club face yet when you look at that spin number at 2472 it’s very cut sort of controlled isn’t it from that type of strike and you see the ball
Speed at one Just sh 165 and that we hit it’s still pretty impressive yeah it just really feels like can just feels your loads of confidence that head size and again that’s another great example you look at that strike location there definitely felt it was toe but that ball stayed
Incredibly straight there it wasn’t my fastest Club head speed actually about a couple maybe 1 and a half M hour down on that last uh swing now they’re also offering a HL version in this 10K model so obviously slightly lighter back weight there light lighter shaft lighter
Grip and a little bit longer in the length it actually comes in at standard at 46 in so if you’re a golf who’s maybe wanting to really get some more Club Ed speed with a lighter product of the HL then that’s maybe a good option to combine that forgiveness with something
That’s a little bit maybe faster than that cled speed with that weight reduction all right that’s a little tester that was right off the bottom of the golf club B speed 162 is 12 launch let’s look that spin yeah that’s pretty good that was pretty low in the club
Face that felt like it was going to really spin up and 28 very controllable so maybe and we’ve heard this in the Fairway woods from ping that spin consistency where basically the the low half of that club face is a little bit like bent back in a way so a little bit
Less Loft helps to just to stop that spin climbing too much on that gear effect on those low strikes maybe that’s just help me a tiny bit there so availability wise in the 10K comes in a 9° head 10.5 and also so the 12 we still got the adjustable neck sleeve so can
Dial that Li and Loft into to suit your delivery maybe your shot shape as well let’s go and check a few numbers out so as I mentioned I hit a batch with the uh standard g430 max driver we know that’s incredibly uh stable driver that was my
Strip patterned with the g430 max now with a 10K that was my strike pan Which actually was a little bit more out of the toe which is going to be quite interesting here so when we look at the numbers here you can see obviously Club head speed is going to be absolutely
Identical exactly the same shafts I’ve got mentus uh so I’ve obious used my same shaft so I’ve obviously used the same shaft in both of those heads so my Ventus from Fuji cor same length same grip same everything there 9° headset at 9° see Club speed pretty much identical
As you’re going to expect a mile hour quicker on average ball speed with the 10K which is good so a little bit maybe that fast off the club face that thinner face maybe just plain effect there launch pretty identical there spin a hair lower with the 10K Max which again
Is pretty impressive cuz you got to remember this is a bigger weight at the back and it’s further back which typically add tends to add a little bit of spin so they’ve kept the control spin really nicely there so I’ve just crept a few more yards out of there it’s not a
Lot and I wasn’t expecting a lot to be honest but this is the important bit which is maybe what Ping are really trying to push around this driver is the Forgiveness levels the the stability the straighter hitting and we can see that on that small little test there what
I’ve done with the orange circle being the 10K driver now the one that’s flashing there you can see is the one that I caught a bit off the bottom and I did hit one similar to that with the g430 max which dropped off a little bit
More that spun up a little bit more so again that lower spin of the 10K just probably helping me out on that little low M hit keeping that ball going forward uh probably again that maybe a little bit that spin consistency just helping me on that particular shot but
Definitely tight on the dispersion right so there we go that’s pretty impressive driver from Pink as we always expect they make great product don’t they whether you like the look of it turbulators the sound of it that’s another matter it’s a personal choice isn’t it but performance wise

The G400 max was 9800 moi 6 years ago,10,000 moi isn't much of an improvement, all manufacturers have done the distance sale to death,now they are flogging forgiveness.Surely getting a better technique will put more yards on most of us golfers than spending another £500+, driver heads have been on the legal limits for years now,I should be hitting 300yds down the middle playing off scratch now. How do this compare to the G430 SFT ? I miss left often, I know the sft has the draw+ weight.. how do these compare?
G400 max is 9900 MOI and can be had for 150 quid.

The only "thing" that can direct a driver is a person at the end of it!!!!It is more and more commercial bull…..directed at weekend hackers. Don't forget that an AI was involved in determining that 10K figure. Ping missed that!!!

great review Michael I think this years Driver lineup is gonna very competitive across the board will be tough to choose which brand to go with just wish the prices were not so outlandish 800-900 canadian for a driver is getting pretty steep cheers all from Vulcan Canada
