Not picking Michkov . Hughes biggest mistake.
Massive error but happens every time you draft by position instead of the best player available!
Philly were stuck with a player who wouldn’t sign with them and was heading back to the draft how Hughes did not get involved in the negotiations which sent Gauthier to Anaheim should be another mystery!
Well it came out yesterday also , that Cutter Gauthier didn't want to play in a Canadian Market , maybe Hughes knew that already,
I just hope that other drafted prospects make this a thing playing refusing to play for the organization that drafted them , aka Hutson , never know, he might change his mind ,

Defensmen take longer to develop and we need to combine primes of our team for the best shot at Stanley Cup – so it was right decision to take Reinbacher in my opinion

On the face of it Coach yes it's a big error but given Gauthier's actions towards the Flyers we don't know, just like Michkov, if he would have wanted to come here. I'm sure Hughes would have looked into this thoroughly. Having said that we have to wait to see how Reinbacher develops as for a team that struggles offensively passing on Gauthier/Michkov if those players would have come here does have the potential to look very bad down the road.
well i see it that Hughes had his reasons for not pulling the trigger on Gauthier and i have faith in his evaluations and his plans for the rebuild, patience is required and we need to trust the process imo.

Hughes made a mistake with last draft's 5th puck, this wasn't it, neither was passing on Michkov.
