Hey Golfers,
Welcome to another episode of how to generate Smooth Power. This video focuses on the concept of effortless speed. Imagine 2 cars or planes going around a corner. What relative speed does the outside vehicle need to change to keep pace with the inside track vehicle? It has to be faster to cover more distance in the turn. The same applies to the golf swing.
Your hands travel a longer distance in the golf swing than your body’s mid-line. To keep pace with the movement and rotation of the body, you MUST accelerate your hands faster than your body to stay in sync with your body. If you aggressively accelerate your body, without focusing on the hands, the hands and club will be left behind and forced to react to catch up at impact. This is why golfers fear using their hands and arms in the golf swing: they feel the reaction and do not understand what causes the inconsistency in ball striking.
To coordinate your swing, you must accelerate your hands and arms independently of your body. The outside needs to stay in sync with the inside. This means your hands and arms must move the club faster than your body! This is an absolute for great ball striking. Several drills can help you generate the proper feel, feet together and flaming are 2 great drills to train your new mental model of how to swing a golf club.

Hey golfers happy New Year 2024 we’re going to get a lot of work done this year our first video that I’m throwing out there is how to increase your smooth power in your golf swing without increas in effort and we’re going to take that slack or looseness out of your swing
That you sometimes feel and if you feel very handsy at the bottom this video is going to show you how to kind of tighten all that up and coordinate your arm swing with your body motion so thanks for joining on and let’s get you to play your best golf this year Hey golfers welcome to another episode of how to generate smooth power today I want to talk about taking slack out of your swing or looseness out of your swing so what am I referring to well when we get up to the top of the back swing if you’ve been taught and
Trained to move this really aggressively that doesn’t necessarily move the golf club in any case it actually moves the golf club out to end or towards the camera here so if I’m up to the top here and I get aggressive you can just see that just automatically
Shifts it out and what ends up happening is now there’s this reaction of your hands and arms trying to get the club to catch up so that’s that looseness or slack I’m talking about we don’t want that we don’t see that in the good players and we definitely don’t want
That in our golf swing so how do we take the slack out and still generate High speeds well we got to use our arms and what I want you to think about it is because this pelvis and our body has only a few inches to travel to get
To square I actually need my hands to travel several feet so acceleration of the arms creates and eliminates that slack and coordinates the arm swing club with our body think of it this way we have two airplanes SE in formation and and they’re going to be banking left in this
Case what is the speed if the planes are flying at the same speed and they both Bank one’s going to take off and leave the other one behind so that outside plane actually has to accelerate in order to stay in formation so the outside acceleration of the arms and the
Hands has to increase relative to the body speed that’s how we eliminate the slack or looseness in your golf swing okay what are some basic drills feet together drill Flamingo drill those are great drills to coordinate the acceleration of your arms in the club relative to your body so this way we can
Keep in a nice tight formation or fluidity and that smooth power in our golf swing so that’s just a little bit use those drills to take the slack out of your gos swing and create that effortless smooth power thanks for watching got you
