PR it’s letting itself down massively with how awful its referees are in this uh in this country yeah absolutely and we coming into this story from an everon perspective and obviously we’ve just done the tofe TV live stream very much looking at it from an everon perspective

But one thing that was highlighted on that stream was that fans of any club in this league and throughout English football as a whole really can look at at least one decision they’ve had this year that they’ll look at and think no that was an absolute shocker we’ve been

Done over there yeah so it’s it’s a problem for everyone because everyone has the same referees at the end of the day it’s the same group of individuals making these decisions and it’s the same individuals getting these decisions wrong time and time again and look I am

Of the opinion that referee probably not an easy job that’s an opinion I think one thing we can all agree on is that it’s a thankless job and people notice referee mistakes more than they’ll notice referees getting stuff right I I appreciate that i’ understand that a

Referee can get 99 things right in a game and it might be the one thing he does wrong that’ll get highlighted and become part of his reputation but it’s not one time out of hundreds with these decisions it’s far too often and the ones they are getting wrong a far too

Obviously wrong as well because that Cal Leen sending off last night was awful there was other things the referee got wrong through the game little fars little instan and stuff like that and look you can get away with that you can move on from it it’s not a story at the

End of the day but situations like that and every Club has at least one this season clubs like ever and have several wolves or another one who’ve had several we can all look at the quality of refereeing in this country and how it’s affected us that means it’s a

Problem and that means okay like can we at least look at how we can change this can we not bury our heads in the sand and pretend it’s better than it is why can’t we at least have the conversation why is it to boo to say referees bad because Sky Sports have you

Know their refat show where the prevailing opinion it he’ll give a couple he’ll say oh the ref got this one wrong but overall he protects his Meats he comes on he protects his me you’ve got Mike de doing a similar thing going no because the referee did this and they

Can’t do it differently why can’t on the big channels on the big broadcastter is why can’t we change that discussion and make it okay what can we actually do to improve this realistically because I know people would like the idea of sending all these refs to League 2 and

Never having to see them again but let’s actually look at a practical solution could we do more training for them could we look at bringing over referees English speaking referees from foreign leagues and you know paying them more money to come and be our referees now

Could be look at you know bringing them all in the room and putting all these decisions on some going why did you make makes this decision put them in front of a camera after a game and ask them to explain the decision give us the vir

Audio as it happens so absolutely no one can raise the complaint that there’s a potential agenda against their Club because at the moment it can’t be ruled out the these V conversations things are being said like oh well don’t really like wolves so I’m happy to not give

This or I don’t really like Sheffield United so we’ll let this one slide or uh Crystal Palace got away with one earlier so we’ll punish them here that can’t be ruled out until we actually hear that audio and know that comes from UFA but English football in the fa needs to be

The most overused phrase in football but what we know is football especially you you know growing up with a longer period of football than I have obviously you know I was born sort of at the end of what some people might think was football’s golden age and other people

Have different periods they look back on but most definitely was 2000s people look on quite fondly and I obviously missed most of that because I was so young but from what we want football to be and even from what it was 10 years ago it feels fav away from that

Yeah it’s getting it’s getting worse it’s you’re trying to you want to protect quality players of course you do because you want them you don’t you know there’s things that have been outlawed the tackle from behind and things like that absolutely needed needed to be outlawed from Beyond eight players you

Know ruined Marco van Baston he was an incredible footballers since it forward in the 90s that that’s changed for the better that kind of thing but what we’re seeing now is we’re seeing people that aren’t even in the middle of the pitch refereeing it making decisions and everyone’s getting poor decisions

Against them um we’re seeing not being able to celebrate goals now in the ground because you know V are looking for a way to disallow it we seeing lines looking for offside that I like on the camera because fellas don’t know how to draw the straight being thrown by

Someone with a wonky hands it’s just no good it’s no good and um you know GMX says it’s all good and well moan about ref it’s been the same for decades so let’s face fact not it hasn’t been though refs have always made poor decisions because you’re always going to

Be the enemy to 50% of the people all the time all the time at every decision you going to people are going to think you’ve made the wrong decision they’ve never had as much help as is what they’ve got now and they’re getting waste that’s my issue theyve has there

Been unconscious bias always always Liverpool when they were amazing got penalties they should never have had to get them United for years got out of time penalties blah blah blah big clubs have had things Everton when we won the league you know in 87 or 88 we got like

13 penalties in a season things like that we got decisions at that time cuz we were the the Champions the teams at the top always get favorable decisions but there was also you could argue in a lot of those games moving forward referees just made a decision based on

What they saw the will be unconscious biased because everybody’s got it but now they’ve got all of the technology they should be able to come to the right decision but when you start slowing things down when you start looking for things that aren’t there when you start

Looking to ways to disallow goals but then the same incident will be given positively to a different team there’s no excuse anymore it’s getting worse and worse and worse can’t just go all well we just get on we just get on we can’t accept it like that no I absolutely take

What he’s saying and that’s why I started saying look it’s a thankless role and you know they’ll always be criticized for decisions but there’ll always be someone who disagrees with it it and there’ll always be 50/50 decisions where one person’s going to feel wronged and you you’ll never truly

Get away from that but what we’ve got now and what is often the topic of discussion is this relatively new system of V where quite often it’s correct and oh I say correct and you get the correct on field decision and V comes in and changes it and gives you the wrong one

Someone else the referee avoids making the decision the liesman avoids put on his flag up because they think oh it’s too close to co will go to V and then it comes to V and despite having multiple camera angles the ability to put it in slow motion doesn’t often help but

They’ve got the tools to see what they need to see and more often than not we got oh we don’t actually know yeah it’s not and it’s not clear and obvious so we can’t make that decision so the V is a new factor to you know referee and controversial and practically every

Sport but football’s added a new factor that hasn’t been perfected in its implementation which is just it it made the pop oil over a little bit hasn’t it absolutely um Royal blist the shields Gazette ffp table as Everton in the number one spot with minus 520 million

Stress that put on her body led to something tragic so hopefully she can take some joy in that and maybe become a coach or something and still be involved in the game at a different level it’s obviously too early for it to make those decisions but but no the most important

Thing is that she’s got her health and her decision’s been made to preserve her health and if her decision benefits your health it’s the right choice that is the important thing but still a very sad story to have to retire at such a young age uh just on to Ian Tony brenford are

Yet to offer a new contract to Ivan onlyy despite him only having 18 months left on his deal um there’s a lot of speculation at the moment that he is going to join um Arsenal or Chelsea this window even though Thomas franer said he want to keep

Him um is this the ideal time for brenford to sell him given that they’ve played the whole season without him or given that they are in a right now they’re in a relegation battle right now because they’re only four points other luta with their bottom L have a game in

Hand I think brenford won’t get a player as good as ivanon you know they’ve got their scouting system and they a team that in the past have been good at picking out a few gems here and ivanon is one of them they bought him from League one they took that risk on him

You know paid good money for a league one player but he’s a quality player he’s good enough to play for those teams like Arsenal and Chelsea and be a star man in those teams at the same time how much does Ivan Tony really want to be a

Brenford we seen a few years ago he was talking down brenford you know didn’t really want to be in there he seen them as His sort of stepping stone they probably haven’t offered him a new contract because they know he won’t sign one and he’s got his heart set on

Players that we need yeah absolutely mate absolutely um yeah be it’ll be I don’t know with I think if you’re Arsenal if I’m Arsenal I want him in now champ they’re in the Champions League next phase I think he’d be a huge sign forward him I know from

Summer so if you’re him and you think I’ve got I’ve got Arsenal at the better out of twoo obviously but Chelsea I think want to go big places don’t they spend money I think if you himit at 27 you’re thinking I want to make the move

Now my stock might be as high as what it is now but if you’re Arsenal he might be the key to keeping them in a title race where at the moment they’re a little bit blunt aren he and he spent six months out of 40 is he going to be at as

Sharpest if he comes in and doesn’t get firing until the last five games of the season is back going to ha stock and you know if brenford sticks to their guns with the rasing price but he’s only got a year left and seems going well he’s a

Very good player but he’s nearly 28 he’s only got a year left is 70 million the best use of our funds I think for brenford as I say that lay to adap of Alum to a degree they can get that money in now and it could give them that same

Lift that havam could do brenford are a selling team to a degree they’re comfortable selling their players but they have The Replacements lineup I think they know he doesn’t particularly want to be there and assume they’ve had those conversations and they’ve spoke to the clubs that might want him as well

Player in that role so maybe he does suit English football a little bit more I think he gives Sheffield United a potential goal scorer which is something they massively lack so they certainly won’t be complaining it it’d be interesting to see how he does and you know maybe okay he might not keep

Sheffield United up but if he gives a good account of himself Vel have a potential sellable asset he can sell to a Premier League team and with a team like Crystal Palace or maybe Everton look at him if he does well at cheffy Old United possibly um Eric D has been
