This isn’t what I expected from Phil Mickelson if you think over the last 18 months Rory and Phil Have Been Going Hammer and tongue at each other whether that be in interviews whether that be on social media they really haven’t seen eye to eye with the whole live golf

Merger after Rory’s interview yesterday I think the golf world just literally went into meltdown and a lot of players had their say we saw Brooks kepka just tweet the uh sipping T emoji but we also had one of the heavy weights of the game Phil Mickelson have his say now before

We go into exactly what Phil Mickelson has said in response to Rory’s interview I want to go through a few of the key points and what you guys said on the video yesterday all your comments I ask you guys to get involved because it was such a turning point hence why it’s a

U-turn um in the live golf merger whole Saga I really felt like it was a strong turning point so some of the some of the things that we heard from Rory Mao yesterday was he said I would love live to turn into an IPL of golf so

Essentially where you go and play for two or three months and it fits into the DP World Tour schedule and the PJ tour schedule and the live golf schedule where live golf is a condensed schedule you might F to say they take two months of the calendar you go and do this team

Stuff it’s a bit different and it’s a slightly different format if they were going to do something like that I would say yeah that sounds like fun because you are working within the golf ecosystem and it’s interesting to see your comments against this other things Rory said and I actually honestly think

This was a good thing for him to come out and say having sort of come out and said there’s a little bit of U-turn here not to those words directly but sounds like now he’s open to negotiations and open to playing live golf events if it

Works with the PJ tour and the DP World Tour I thought this is a smart move from him or just well not smart an honest move from him said I was maybe a little judgmental of those guys who went to live at the start and I think it was a

Bit of a mistake on my part because I now realize not everyone is in my position or Tiger Wood’s position I think he’s sort of alluding to monetary value there Tiger and Rory have made Millions off the course and on the course whereas some of the guys coming

Towards the end of their careers I know Lee Westwood and Ian polter have made Millions but not to the degree they have and if you’re coming towards the end of the career and someone’s going to offer you a lot of money why should someone else look bad at you for doing that I

Think that’s what he’s trying to get across now it was seriously interesting to go through some of your opinions on this interview so this all came out yesterday and this reaction from Phil Mickelson is fresh off the press cuz it’s your home of breaking news in the

Golf industry so be sure to subscribe turn on the Bell that way you can keep up to date with everything and I encourage you to get involved in these new stories so find them down below in the comments because you never know we may pick out yours so the first one that

I’ve got here again I’m going to reiterate this is in reaction to yesterday’s video it said this Rory said too much to begin with Liv is not going away and Rory is finally figuring this out there’s plenty of opportunity and money to go around over time they will

Come together for the best interests of the sport and I’ll be honest as a golf fan that’s all I want that’s literally all I want the next one I picked here and these just totally picked at random from the comment section this comes from Robert and it says do you think the top

Players would be going to live if they didn’t realize when their when the dust settles Liv will be the world tour and the PGA Tour a feeder tour with guys wishing they could get to live I don’t know about that I don’t think it’s ever

Going to be that way I really don’t I think PJ tour will always be the Pinnacle I really feel Liv Go’s future in this merger and I’ll be honest I think all Le and piff want to do is invest in the PJ tour and they’ve used

Um live as a strong arming method I think the IPL of golf is definitely the way it should go and some of the rumors are saying that is the way it’s going to go now the final comment here and this is from Derek and I think it’s a great

Point this one I’ve been saying IPL Style live would be a huge success from the start stadium golf night golf extended team rosters the possibilities are endless and I think that’s where this could get really exciting I think that’s where golf could reinvigorate and combas create like a new format have

Your test match style your your top Echelon of the sport being the PJ tour the DP will tour but live just be this totally new cool different way of looking at golf I feel that’s where the space should be for live now let’s get into exactly what Phil Mickelson said

And I’ll be honest I was not expecting it to be like this because as I said at the start of this video they have locked horns on more than one occasion so Phil Mickelson came out and said this this quote and others made by ro today probably weren’t easy to say let’s not

Use this as an opportunity to pile on rather it’s time for me and others to let go our hostilities and work towards a positive future now if players who were locking horns in the past are starting to see eye to eye starting to not pick on each other because at one

Point if roran made these comments Liv golfers would have come out I mean you saw it from Brooks a little bit he was sort of dangling a carrot there but in general the consensus is quite positive from this interview and I think that’s the only way this can go if we want to

Have a good golf ecosystem guys thanks so much for watching today’s breaking news story be sure to subscribe turn the Bell that way you never miss a breaking news story here on bat9 Films

  1. all i can think of right now is how rory said F Phil on full swing and laughing. as for rorys liv deas i say F you rory you should have no say. dont change liv

  2. Although I can’t stand LIV or anything they do, I think the PGA could benefit from LIV by allowing them to still play PGA events, they qualify for, but with a caveat. LIV players cannot discuss LIV, advertise LIV, or wear any LIV branding. PGA would make more money with all players playing. Also, to play in the PGA events the players on LIV would still need to meet the minimum tournament requirements but not be able to use the “new” event to wiggle out. Just my thought.

  3. I dont know how this will all shake out but I'd like to know what it cost PIF to create the LIV tour and what it lost last year because I dont think it made much if any money for the PIF. Granted the Saudis have a lot of money but this whole thing was an investment, expected to increase their fund, they had to wreak the PGA tour to get a TV contract and sponsor money down the road to make it viable, and did just that. Had the PGA had more money I doubt LIV would have survived more than a few years, paying guys $150 million to come gets pretty expensive when you have zero coming in.

  4. So Rory is OK with LIV as along as LIV is pushed to the arse end of the season [up against the NFL]. He is full on it.

  5. PGA tour is like test series… obsolete except when you have nothing better to do on that week. While LIV is one day’ers and IPL rolled in one.

  6. I was contemplating everything about golf thats happened in the last few days and 2 years since LIV started, Rory's comments, LIV, PGATOUR, Asian tour, DP World tour, Greg Norman's comments etc. I came to the realisation, the Saudis via H.E. Yasir Al Ramayan have essentially bought world wide mens professional golf for less than you would pay for Manchester United or any one NFL, NBL or baseball team in the USA. When you consider how much golf is growing world wide, its the investment steal of the century. Norman in his LIV Golf podcast interview said his design company has 13 courses under construction and a further 18 under contract in the Middle east and Asia alone. That is one design company out of many. You can say what you like about it but the Saudis are really smart investors.

  7. With the sudden 'out of the blue' conciliatory and diplomatic rhetoric from top players on both sides, a merger would appear to be on the horizon. It's almost as if McIlroy & Mickelson have been advised to start 'paving the way'…..

  8. I'm jumping on the Phil bandwagon. Best of luck Rory, hope everything works out for the best. I like LIV, so I wish them well also.

  9. So Rory has woken up and smelled the BS he has been dishing out….what does he want a "gold star?" A golf professional is just that "a GOLF Professional" and thus the player should do as he feels is best. LIV is a very fun and rewarding tour…far batter than the PGA in my book!

  10. Rory should learn to keep his mouth shut before thinking things through. He is obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer and he should have treaded lightly when LIV started because you should always keep your enemies close and lay in the weeds because you never know where you will end up in life. If I was Greg Norman I would NEVER allow Rory to play a LIV event.

  11. Why won’t anyone tell us what brooks said ?
You are mistaken if you think after all LIv has invested they are going to become some end of the year side show.
LIv will continue to sprinkle its schedule throughout the year. They want their players to have the end of the year and early in the year off.
Golf is different than cricket. This will be like the WGCs where those events were mixed in throughout the year.
As for whos the premier tour, LIv may have more money than the majors but the majors are more premier. I’m not sure over time the pga tour will be able to do the same. Eventually LIv will be the dream tour of pro golf for everyone.

I’ll add Phil and Shark continue to show leadership skills. Phil calling for peace and Shark truly continues taking the high road while pressing forward with this decades long plan.

I appreciate Rory apologizing (somewhat) but I would love to see Rory name some people like Greg Norman and sincerely apologize for some of the things he has said. There are many of them.

  12. I think it’s the right move.. The momentum seems to be swinging LIV’s way.. I was against LIV, but the PGA tours BS on human right was an absolute joke.

  13. Anyone that believes anything Phil Mickelson says is for any ones benefit… other than himself… is a fool…ad Rory Mcilroy and Tiger Woods to the mix and you have the Trifecta of idiots that make Jay Monahan look like an "Angel" that saves Golf…The best thing that could happen to the game of Golf is to scrap "Professional Golf " ban it forever and start allover again with a ball and a stick and a hole and a flag …and a few beers with your friends or family at the 19th hole !!!

  14. I fully agree..there should be a negotiated space for both formats, and have also been saying for sometime now, that both formats should operate on different platforms. Much like five day Test cricket, one day International cricket and T20 which is played annually around the world, without any problems. Dress code for LIV Series should be long or short pants, and the more traditional PGA / DP and other Tours would be long pants only, with qualifying and a cut after 2 rounds..including the Majors. The important issue though, is that the future of golf is not harmed in any way.

  15. People keep talking about team golf, fine but it needs to mean something to fans!
The Crushyrs and the Highfliers wtf! does this actually mean anything to anyone? Just seems a bit pointless to me.

  16. I think the comparison to how the current cricket system is evolving is a good one. LIVgolf is absolutely the equivalent of twenty20 cricket which is faster and less time consuming attracting a younger audience, with test match cricket the equivalent of the golf majors a much longer event but still exciting and for the cricket/golf fanatics the pinnacle of the sport. Unfortunately all other formats of cricket are now only feeder events for T20 and test matches which I believe is what will happen to the PGA & DP tour this is just how the world is evolving people now want instant results and entertainment not only with sport but everything in life. PGA and the DP tour-can not turn back time with this legacy stance very few fans can tell you 6 winner from last season from either tour.

  17. Money talks. Maybe the penny has finally drop with mcilroy that Saudi money can’t be turned away. PGA events struggling to attract major sponsors because all the top players aren’t there can only last for so long. Maybe rory has missed his big payday opportunity too? Maybe he should have been listening instead of spouting out bile against players who moved to liv golf😂

  18. liv team aspect is not for me. I would love to see season pointing system and based on the points you would have playoff match play style

  19. I believe after the PGA asked the SSG to cut a deal with PIF the players realized that their organization will let everybody make money but the players themselves. Since the deal will be sealed soon more and more players from the PGA are looking to get an opportunity with LIV.

  20. Phil was right, he doesn't need to pile on! Rory said that the LIV tour exposed the PGA and that is really all Phil and Greg Norman were trying to tell everyone, maybe people didn't like the way they went about it, but they weren't wrong and now Rory has seen the truth! The PGA also didn't help their case by not being truthful with their own players and Rory, Tiger, JT, Rickie, and the rest have been slapped in the face for their loyalty.

  21. unfortunately Rory mcilroy has allowed himself to be manipulated into being the PGA mouthpiece. in some ways you feel.for him because Jay mohahagn has fed him what to say. subsequently, he has been left out to dry once the merger talks are on the horizon.
Jay monaghan should be getting the heat but it's falling on mcilroy.

  22. I think you are missing the point 🤷‍♂️ I think the PGA is struggling for money, Liv Golf has got it seems endless amounts of money 🤔 I think Liv Golf wants to run the whole show and won’t be happy having a small section of the season for experimenting with the format 🤷‍♂️ this is a take over and the sooner Rory & others realise that the better 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

  23. Always a Rory fan. He is worried about the true history of golf. It's nice to know, though, how this will all blend together. Not work against each other.

  24. Rory has so much egg on his face over this LIV situation and now needs the money to try and catch up on earnings by the clever players who went there in the first place… I would tell him to get lost,,,

  25. Fact is I don’t love golf more than decency and will never be an enabler of Saudi crimes on society. So I’ll never watch LIV golf.

  26. Rory is a joke. Puppet for Jay Monohan until Jay learned LIV is loaded and he can capitalize on the influx of money. Rory got played and finally realizes he made a huge mistake. Little wee Irish man is nothing but a crybaby. Wait a minute, Alex you doing a 180° on LIV also.

  27. Why do you youtube slugs call it a merger? Anybody who called this a merger is either an idiot or a shill .

  28. I think Rory is absolutely envious of Jon Rahm's agreement with LIV. Rahm has suffered very little blowback as he had much more class than Rory in his comments about LIV players and officials. Rory now sees that the fake 'blood money'/defection narrative just no longer works. He is now fearing he will be left behind so is despeartely trying to change his opinion so he hopes everyone will forget his vitriol, move on and he can secure his own large LIV contract. Rory is as fake as they come.

  29. I am a never LIV golfer. Remember when we said we'll never forget after 9/11? This is the problem with us Americans. We have short memory and we get easily sidetracked by few dollars. Am I sympathetic to Koepka's and Rham's for chasing money? No. They already had tons of money yet their greed got the best of their judgement. I'd like to see us Americans come together with some national pride. But the public acceptance of Saudi sport washing says we are not that united.

  30. There is a totally ignored topic in this fiasco since it started—INGRATITUD E! The PGA gave these men a platform to showcase their talents—TV—and many of them became millionaires. IMO, IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE PGA they would still be playing on Country Clubs and Muny courses FOR THEIR OWN MONEY!!! PROVE ME WRONG! KUDOS TO TIGER AND RORY!!!
