Morning mate lovely to see you morning we’ll get you here morning how are you so two of the great left arm swing Bowlers we’ll start with you guys we see you carefully place the ball oh so I think generally with the new ball I would like the youngsters who are

Watching especially from the great man so the new ball you bring the ball back into the right right hand what’s the grip which side is the shiny side with the new ball how do you judge yeah with a brand new ball obviously both sides

Are are smooth so uh if one ball into a rightand batter it’s probably probably facing into sort of that leg slip position yes uh so straight want to come straight down the seam trying to get that that seam on a straight axis and and if you want to go away with the new

Ball to the right hander if it’s not coming in then what’s the grip there yeah something that Patty C does really well something you did really well both ways I don’t do it as much cuz I don’t think I’ve got that that flick of the wrist that you talk about sure so I’m

I’m more of that wobble seam where I try and Pitch it on the stumps and nip it away and it goes with the angle goes with the angle so if you’re trying to swing it as a left armor obviously pointing to go the other way away from

The the right hand batter is to point it to the probably first slip second slip and you still want to get that seam coming down straight so that that flick of the wrist that you talk about all the time so the straight seam is important for any youngster uh either it’s a right

Hand bowler or a left arm bowler number eight yes particularly with the you know the way you want to swing the ball I think someone at the moment um or two guys at the moment Jimmy Anderson and Mohammad Shamy have got you know almost perfect seam so they can swing it both

Ways uh and that’s that’s probably the seam position that you want to have well we’ll just move over this way just a touch because I’m a bit concerned about those straight drivve so did you just with the new ball just pretend that’s a new ball for a moment so did you both

Hold the in swing in the same way so if you both hold up mine was slightly towards the leg slip Mitch is slightly straighter mine is just here and I used to lock my wrist just in there and for out swing I just used to go there I

Learned it takes time I just go there towards first sleep and then that flick I spoke about other day and that again in the beginning if you try if you natural swing it is in swing if you try this one it it it lowers your pace a bit

At least for at least for a month or two because your muscles are not used to it and once you get the hang of it the pace comes back and now we’ll talk about reverse swing okay this is a reverse swing ball nicely rough Dr from the one

Side and uh smooth side and then the rough side and so if you want to ball out swing to the right-hander what would be the grip the out swing to the right hand from Over the Wicket basically you’re doing the opposite so you got the shiny side where you would have with the

New ball but what’s going to happen is with all this Rough Side there a is going to move over that side quicker so still still holding it for a if it was swinging naturally still holding it for an inswinger the ball’s going to move the other way and again it’s it’s about

That fast arm like Wasim had uh I think the high speeds tend to to get it reversing a bit bit better um and L later later yeah you’re looking for a bit of that dip too which I think I I do a bit more from around the wick but but

Certainly trying to and also Mitch have noticed you got one of the best Bowlers in world cricket present great uh when you ball with the reverse swing you go around the Wicket most of the time and you don’t bring the ball back into the right-handed the reason any special

Reason yeah a big one for me with being left armor and I think that angle in at the stumps particularly to the right hand batters and having that late movement away or some of that dip that angling at the stumps makes them have to play all the time so I’ve spoken to you

A bit about it and and having that one to come back in would complement that and I think um having a bit of a lower arm around the Wicket to get that late dippy Swing Away uh sometimes means that I I can’t bring that one back in all the

Time so I have to be a little bit taller and a little bit more conscious of having that straight wrist which I get a little bit lazy that way absolutely I think with your pace if you bring the ball back in especially even in shorter

Format T20 or one day you’ll get a lot more wickets and I what I used to do I used to go around the Wicket as well and I just used to hold the ball like this and I used to go slightly wider from slightly Slinger as you call it not

Straight I used to go slightly Slinger and with the angle around the Wicket he used to come with the angle as well so you must try but I think he knows what to do why I’m telling him well two masters of the trade will just come this

Way again because uh Dave war is in there we don’t want to get hit in the back of the head so if it’s not swinging in that period between traditional and then reverse what do you trying to do and what did you try and like yesterday

Say after 40th over 50th over it wasn’t not happening nothing was happening with the ball yeah poor example here I think it’s a it’s pretty slow dead of wicket but um I think something that I’ve had to add to my game is that middle period where it’s not swinging spoken

To time had relation they they wobble the niely bring that got that angle as a left armor but if I can hit the seam and the odd one moves away I think that adds strings to my bow so um and then also you know sort of having that that rist

That I have um I can hold the ball a certain way where I keep hitting the Rough Side to rough it up and get it ready for that reverse swing so when when the square and the Wicket uh allows it with the abrasive nature you can get that ball sh yesterday afternoon after

Tea it was a bit difficult to to bowl especially when the partnership is going Jamal and M Hamza they they scored 80 plus runs and that was hard for bowlers doesn’t matter how experienced you are yeah they they played well I think uh Amir obviously took the game on a little

Bit played some really nice shots I think the nature of the Wicket um probably meant that uh you know whilst we got some wickets with the short ball it wasn’t once you sort of got used to the pace of it wasn’t that difficult to to lock in there so yeah he played his

Shots and played really well and and did really well for his 80 runs um but something to keep in mind for the later stage of the game money just as we let you go the last over where were you watching or what were you’re feeling it was all happening four off the first

Ball then just over the top of the battles on that fifth ball yeah uh we were all sort of getting changed and and winding down um I think someone was smiling on Davey for that that over there and got away with one and hopefully he seemed lock in today for

For a big score but U nice to get through the over I think a little bit of a surprise to B to spin for one over with with I think the conditions but um yeah it’s a new day good on you mate best of luck today thanks J

  1. I respect Starc for correcting the commentator and making him start with Waseem Akram

That shows respect of the elders and that speaks volumes for his values, upbringing and morals

  2. Starc cannot swing both ways like wasim .wasim was so skillful and thinking cricketer. Always had a plan how to trap a batsmen. Where as Starc main weapon is his pace and if there is no movement on the pitch he struggles big time. We saw him against India where shubman Gill and company really tortured him even in Australia..against pakistan they made good bowling wickets that suited him.

  3. The gambler who sells Pakistan cricket for years for dirty bucks just travelling freely due to the non invention of social media.

  4. I am following international cricket since 1987.Watched many cricket legend till now. Waseem incomparable with any other fast bowler.Max fast bowler succeeded at their home condition or fast bowling wicket. Only waseem succeeded world over any condition either dead/spinning wicket. In sub-continent wicket he was the most successfull fast bowler ever i seen. That was his beuty.Waseem could achieved more wicket in his career if Pakistan fielding wasn’t poor that time.If he played in favour of Australia/England/West Indies then I believe he could achieve more wicket, because that time these team got chance 5 test, 5 odi series.

  5. Starc is a contemporary legend. However, Wasim Akram and Starc cannot be compared; in fact, Wasim is debatably the greatest of all time.

  6. Wasim Akram is the greatest magician with the ball. There is no one like him since those times. He was an extreme threat everytime he came with the ball, doesn't matter old or new. One other bowler who was also very great but didn't get enough credit was Chaminda Vaas. Zaheer Khan is another legend too. For some reason I love left arm swing bowlers. There is a natural beauty to their bowling style like an ocean… I really thought Jansen could be a great bowler, but something of him is not upto that mark.

  7. Look at y'all sucking upto Akram. Akram in today's batting dominated era, who knows buttler would have smashed him for 3 consecutive sixes.

  8. There is no comparison between The Great Wasim Akram and Mitchel Starc.Mitchel starc is a very good bowler but Wasim Akram is a living Legend❤

  9. There are only two types of fast bowlers. One is Wasim Akram and the other, the rest of the world. Love from India.

  10. If it wasn’t for Wasim, rest of the world would still be clueless about reverse swing bowling

  11. Comparison is unfair..
Every sportsman Is unique and they have different era n conditions..
of course no doubt Wasim is all time great..
Starc still got time to be showman..
    Thanks to one..
    Kudos to another one..❤

  12. Never forget Starc to Burns , first ball of the Ashes after silently enduring weeks of calls for him to be dropped by that entitled little Thai $€× tourist Warne
