A brand-new season on the PGA TOUR begins this week in Hawaii as the Plantation Course at Kapalua hosts The Sentry. Scottie Scheffler will be teeing it up in Maui this week and is coming off a three-shot win at the Hero World Challenge at the end of November to wrap up a three-win 2023. The American will look to improve on finishes of T7 in 2023 and T13 from 2021 at The Sentry. Reigning FedExCup Champion Viktor Hovland will also be in Hawaii this week after being a member of the victorious European Ryder Cup team and capturing three top-10 finishes worldwide in the fall to cap off his 2023. Making his fourth consecutive appearance at the Plantation Course, the Norwegian star will look to improve on his highest finish of 17th. Max Homa will also be feeling confident this week as he claimed victory on the DP World Tour at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in November which was one of six straight top-10s worldwide. He played well for a T3 finish in his third appearance last year at The Sentry. Others to look out for are Tommy Fleetwood, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa and Xander Schauffele.

Just get it started anywhere in the left center of the Fairway it’s going to end up all the way down the bottom of the hill we’ve seen driver three-wood even iron all end up in the same place clean lie well below the surface of the green pretty well done there andy yeah

That was well done it’s nice up and in from the bunker this is another one of the examples of this golf course where you do not have to aim it at the PIN to get it close stay there stay there stay there the wind just eating shots up did

Stay that’s going to be very makeable from The Fringe School of Hard Knocks merly professional years for a player oh yes fantastic came through The Fringe very nicely which is the way the course is designed to play with these wins as a Patia his second from 155 out on the par

Four oh wow great shot there and that green complex John as you well know is so difficult there’s three tiers to it and that pin is on the back again scoring average on this hole so far this week has basically been a full stroke below what it plays to just over four

Right right about 190 covers the front here 214 all the way back to the hole sounded like a little bit of a m hit perhaps but that’s the proper side to miss it on this for Eagle maintain get a share of the lead and that comes

Up this to get to 15 under and one off the lead no problem he thumped one he sure did that was blister we got the thumper and it’s still rolling and again this is sometimes where statistics can be misleading his is a little bit more manageable closer to the

Green that should turn to the right A little it’s almost like he was in between how to play it use the back stop or not and don’t overthink it there you go two in a row Ro Shai batia won off the lead just a really fun t-ball net and not requiring driver today

That’s just the hybrid that oxay carries it’s 250 is his carry number look at look at those three those first three hops how how incredibly big they were and that thing it’s just going to run for a mile 250 on the carry and then another hundo on the ground at

Least and we’ve got a nice big Breeze almost as a lefty he can draw this against the wi and get this close oh no take the hill take the hill okay that’ll help right on the razor’s Edge there and it will curl a little closer to the

Hole again a 440 yd drive with a three-wood this is going to be a big key for him the Putter and with some Authority good putt at the par five ninth he’s got 259 yards yards prettyy Flat Line in the Fairway it’s going to hit a low burner and try

And skip it up there will it Miss the bunker oh it did wow that was a cool shot yeah that was pretty cool Bo batia his third shot had a little bit of a cushion under the ball of grass so you could hear that fluffiness wasn’t quite a clean contact

Probably would be a little bit of a challenge if he hadn’t been used to it he going to turn to his left nice that was a beautiful stroke dead center fascinating he’s only 21 I feel like we’ve known him for four or five years I know well he’s a been a

Professional for a long time should be a flat fade yeah he aimed a little bit too far right here Kurt this is probably going to actually be right of those bunkers this will feed off that right side and down into a low spot in the rough then it’s actually

Okay to today’s whole location he’s got a back stop coming from that angle so t- shot’s gotten way more more difficult this wind back to the traditional in off the right that was a seed right there right there’s that slope at 13 taking it way left but a good one for

A and you got to hit it far enough off this up slope into the wind I never I always felt like I had too much glove and baby through the through the strike yeah and he pulled this right and needs a little bit of a kick you’ll get it that’s well

Done and now batia for birdie boy they’re coming in from everywhere now tell you what that this might end up being one of the great changes of Putters that we’ve seen in a while as well piles of divots after so many balls being in there it’s going to be up on

The Shelf I think I think so Kurt lower ball flight okay just finding the first cut quite as much in that penalty area oh this is a big block but it’s coming back he’s watching it closely as long as you hit it solid Smiley it covers there and then you got

A decent shot at it I was scared for a second yeah he just got it over the junk with this extra cushion he can use the Loft here to get it up in air but yeah just not that good of a why so the birdie putts now lined up at

The 15th including the O parring the last hole in here now 10 to 15 ft I know he wants this end up in the bottom to reach 20 under looking good look at how well that ball rolled that line justed never wobbled all right baa is ready

Here he’s going to chip it from here I like it and now I don’t I think he’s thinking he could put a little bit of spin on it maybe soften it coming off that slope but it didn’t happen getting a lot of love for a lot

Of birdies and pars they’ve got tons of family support and batia staves off what would have been his only bogey of the day he’s gone a long way without one in fact the co-leader batia take a look at his t-shot with our driving technology again presented by the new Chrome tour

Golf ball from Callaway that started over the TV compound where you guys are big old slingshot yeah shaping it left to right that that was Jordan’s ball there but we documented how solid he’s been throughout the day except for that little pick up still a great week so far

And going be right in the midst going into Sunday thanks for watching the PGA Tour on YouTube to watch another video click here and to subscribe click here
