So you’re coming to Southwest Florida and you’re looking for the best spots to go to the beach there’s no better place than Santa Bell and Captiva Island so before we get to those best spots on Santa Bell and Captiva Island and their beaches let’s talk a little bit about the beaches and a little bit of the makeup of them it said that the clusa Indians were the first people that inhabited the island 2500 years ago they

Were the first residents of Santa Bel and Captiva Island and their beaches it’s also said that ponon when he was on his mission his exploration of finding the Fountain of Youth he found santel and captiv Island that’s some of the history what makes it so special and why

Is it known as the shell capital of the world is because of the curvature of the island it’s that Boomerang shape it’s that east to west direction that works as a catching point for those shells to come to land that’s why we get the shells that we do Santa Captiva has 15

Miles of beaches again east to west we have 275 different species of shells that you will find that you’ll discover on these beaches the sand from east to west changes the sunrise the sunet because it’s east to west because of that boom boang shape it changes so on the East

End you get more of the sunrise on the West End you get the sunset the water Clarity it changes the shoreline changes the sand texture it goes more from a powdery sand texture to more of a grainy texture and that’s probably because Captiva rishes their beaches and SEL

Lets mother nature takes its course that’s the difference between sanabo and kativa sanabo island is an incorporated city they let mother nature take its course and decide how our beaches are whereas Captiva R nourishes their beaches both are beautiful beaches both are special in their own way again East

In more Sunrise West in more sunsets Captiva more sunsets more West in santell that Boomerang shape so now we’re going to go into each and every spot on the islands and there’s a lot of different locations on the islands that you can go and enjoy and they all offer

Something different so so let’s go to the first Spot so first spot is an iconic spot and that’s the Santa Bel Lighthouse the Lighthouse Beach what’s so special about the Lighthouse Beach it’s on the east end of santel and we’re going to take that tour from east to west the way the island curves but first we’re at the

Lighthouse it’s a historical Lighthouse one of the first lighthouses in 1884 that was established on the Gulf Coast of Florida it’s a very special place a lot of great things to do here you’ve got Driftwood out here that makes that really Island feel all the coconut palms all the native palm trees vegetation

You’ve got little walking trails that go throughout you got the fishing pier which is a great place if you want to go fishing you got a lot of great boat activity here Sunrise a great place to watch it that’s on the East End the beaches are fantastic so the water is a

Little bit shallower in my opinion on this East End it’s probably not as blue green like you get up on the west end but it’s still beautiful the other thing you get here are the sunrises what’s nice here too is at night you get the lights of Fort Meers Beach you can see

Down to Bonita and Naples you get the lights from the causeway it’s just a beautiful spot to come down to and just relax it’s one of my favorite beaches on Santa Bell Island so the other thing I like about this beach it’s easy to get get to you come across the causeway you

Take a left you go to the East end it’s just a great spot to go to and there is a little village uh down here on the East End where you can get a sandwich there’s a little grocery store there’s a little restaurant some little shops it’s

Just a great spot to go to one of my favorite spots to go to and you will enjoy it so let’s go to the next Spot so the next Beach on Santa Bell that’s on our list is alers not a lot of people know about alers it’s been there for a long time what’s so great about alers it’s private not many people know about it so where is alers Beach when you come across the causeway you go

Straight to East Golf Drive and then you go East Golf to Middle golf middle golf to Cassie Bell Road and that’s where alers is located off of it’s a great spot that nobody knows about and there’s bik Viking pass there’s Trails what’s cool about algers also it’s got an old

Pioneer Cemetery not that you want to go to the cemetery but it’s just special it’s history it’s just a private space all of our beaches including alers and the rest of them are great for shelling that’s what’s special about alers I hope you enjoy it there’s plenty of parking there

Too so next on the list after alers is Tarpon big Beach probably one of the more popular beaches so it’s a little bit more crowded it’s in the middle of the island down the street from Bailey’s it’s very convenient to go to all the shops and restaurants other than just go to the

Beach so there’s plenty of parking at Tarpon Bay Beach it’s a short little walk to Tarpon Bay Beach from the parking uh again a popular spot the location of Tarpon Bay Beach is right where Cassie Bell Meets West Golf Drive at the intersection of Cassie Bell West

Golf Drive and Tarpon Bay that’s the location of Tarpon Bay Beach next on the list is Bowman’s Beach one of my go-to spots very popular Beach the sand there is starting to get a little bit more grainy the shelling there is fantastic lot of nature trails to experience around Bowman’s Beach Bowman’s Beach is a big beach It’s a

Long Beach lot of private areas to go and enjoy have your separ ation from people so it is starting to go towards the West End not as convenient from the causeway but it’s one of my favorite beaches because the shells especially if you get there in the morning time the

Shells are fantastic the island has made its curve going west the water Clarity is different the shoreline and the water is a little bit deeper around Bowman’s Beach area than what you’ll experience on the East End where Lighthouse Beach is that’s one of my favorite spots a lot

Of nature trails in Bowman’s Beach plenty of parking there great place to watch a sunset with all these beaches you’re going to see people do the Santa Bel stoop if you don’t know what the Santa Bel stoop is that’s the Santa Bel stoop I pick up a shell that’s what people do when

They’re picking up shells we call it the Santa Bel stoop so you’re going to see that up and down all these beaches but the Bowman’s Beach area is one of my favorites again the sand the water Clarity the sun sets the nature trails you’ve got a little bit of a valou back

With the Santa River cuts into there just a lot of nature a lot of birds Wildlife marine life you can fish back there it’s just a great spot in Bowman’s Beach so the next Beach that I like to go to is the blind pass area so the blind pass area what’s really nice about that it’s on the very West End of santel where santel meets Captiva so why the blind pass beach again the water Clarity the sunsets the shelling just like all

Of our beaches especially when you get to the west end it’s a great spot to watch the sunset and see a lot of marine life activity you see the dolphins you see the manatees between blind Pass Bridge where Santa Bell and Captiva meet you see a lot of people fishing in that

Area so there’s a lot of activity to watch and or enjoy you can also throw a line out on that bridge and fish off that’s what’s really cool about blind pass and then just over for the blind pass Beach area now you meet Captiva so from blind pass you go to Turner Beach Turner beach is on Captiva it’s the first and one of only two spots that the public has access to the beaches on Captiva that’s the difference between sanabo and Captiva also there’s not a lot of spots up on Captiva that

The public can park at and go enjoy the beaches whereas Santa has a lot of different spots that you can go to a lot more parking availability but Captiva beaches are some of my favorite I love the sand I love the texture I love the sunsets every single day that they’re there you

Always have the sunsets the water Clarity on Captiva on their beaches looking out over the Gulf of Mexico and the sunsets I think the water Clarity in my opinion it feels like you’re in the Caribbean it just goes towards more of a a turquoise blue BL color the shoreline

As it goes out into the water is a little bit deeper than what you’ll experience towards the east end as you move down that Shoreline going out in the water does change from the East to the West that’s probably because of the currents the curvature of the island

That East to West Shoreline that Boomerang shape I think that’s why also too that Shoreline may change like that on Captiva because you face West because you face towards the sunsets you may even see a green flash what’s a green flash well look it up you’ll find out

It’s pretty special we saw one the other night first one I’ve ever seen hopefully you’ll come to our beaches and you’ll experience that and maybe you’ll see a green flash too so what I like about the beaches of Captiva again not a lot of public parking not a lot of people on

The beaches mostly are the residents of Captiva the people that are staying up there in some of the accommodations that they have so the public you don’t see a lot of people on the beaches so it just feels like some times that it’s just you on those beaches walking all alone

Enjoying the warm client that we experience here the sun sets the sunrises our beautiful climate the outdoors the nature everything that’s what’s so special about our beaches and the beaches of Captiva the next spot we have the Allison hangr Beach up on Captiva a lot of people don’t know this is here

Because it’s at the very end it’s where Captiva and sou Seas Resort meets sou Seas is a private Resort gated there is a beach right at the end of Captiva drive and that’s called the Allison hangr Beach that’s a really cool beach again that feeling of of Captiva the

Sand the water the sunsets it’s all there still but it’s a private area not a lot of people know it’s there there’s plenty of parking there so pretty much all the beaches on Santa Bell and Captiva to park there is $5 an hour except for the Allison hang spot it’s

Anywhere from $15 to $40 for the whole day that’s a big difference too that might be the reason why a lot of people don’t go there but don’t let that stop you because it is close to everything up on Captiva it’s close to the Village of Captiva where you can go to the

Restaurants the shops that’s why you’re probably paying a little bit more at Allison hangra because you have the access there that you don’t have at a lot of the other beaches you’re right there in the village and that’s why it costs a little bit more So that wraps it up for the best spots the best beaches on santell and kepti Island but before we leave this video what do you think what do you think what’s your favorite spots to go to on the island what’s your favorite beaches to go to on the island please leave a
