As I mentioned um on Tuesday show and Wednesday show and Thursday show and now here I mention it on Friday’s program spending the day in the Rose Bowl with uh Sue and the kids and my nephew Jack and the stool Presidente and uh everybody else that was around me was

It Joel Joel CL Joel clout was behind me uh truly one of the greatest days of my life where and and I’ve I part of that is because again I spent time in the Press Box in my senior year of college covering Bo shackler’s final game and

Was able to point up to the booth and say see that Press Box I I sat on the 50 yard line once my next guest will be able to take his family to the National Television booth in the rosebowl for the rest of his days and point to a plaque

And say see that plaque that’s an honor of us our family they named the national booth at the Rose Ball getting Goosebumps about it after this man because he is called almost uh well I guess a dozen plus Rose Bowl games 15 to be exact I think I

Shouldn’t give these numbers out without asking the man himself after he called the Rose Bowl on Monday he’s calling the national championship again with Chris Fowler he’s also one of the voices of Thursday Night Football Kirk KB Street back here in the Rich Eisen show how you

Doing Kirk I’m good man how are you how did it feeli to go into the rosebowl booth and see your family’s name on the wall how was that uh it was pretty surreal I mean they last year I think was the first time that I I actually saw it um and

Yeah it was I mean I I like you I I I grew up watching the Rose bow um you know it get dark outside around 4:30 it’s gray and you turn on the Rose Bowl no matter who was playing in it and you’re just in a of watching

The Rose bow and um that that was my view of it my whole life and then to be able to get into broadcasting and one day call it um it’s for me personally I you know I’ve had some some neat stuff happen in my life as a broadcaster that

That’s the greatest honor I’ve ever received is when they named the the booth after after my family and I and um you know I just called my 16th which I just pass just past Keith for the most um to ever do the rose bow so yeah it’s

It’s and then to be able to call that one you know Chris and I always talk about which one’s our favorite because we’ve called so many together um man that was that was right up there with uh with one of my favorite games maybe I’ve ever called just because the two teams the

Back and forth the momentum swings what both were trying to accomplish Michigan with everything that they’ve been through uh especially guys like Blake km and JJ McCarthy and and some of the veterans that have been on that team you know they they had their breakthrough moment beating Ohio State in 21 and it

Was such a big celebration there in an arbor and only a you know a month later to go down to Miami and I think they really put so so much into beating Ohio State it just wasn’t quite the same team and then they come back a year later a

Lot of the same players and you know they beat Ohio State again and it’s like okay now we go and they’re playing with they you know on paper anyway an inferior team in TCU and they lose and it’s like oh my gosh come back a third time they beat Ohio State again but

There was a different Focus as you know being such a Michigan fan with these guys even when when Jim was suspended early when Jim was suspended late the noise around the program you know sometimes you look at championship teams whether it’s the NFL or or college football there’s a there’s a a

Player-led focus that great teams have and this Michigan team has had it uh this year and I think it has not only to do with the successes and the great plays that they make and the talent that they have I really think a lot of it has

To do with the failures that they’ve been through and some of the heart the heartache that they’ve dealt with collectively and I think it got these guys late laser focused I don’t want to say they’re just an autopilot but man these dudes are on a mission and uh to be challenged the way

They were of all people Nick Sabin and Alabama and to answer the call at overtime it was cool it was uh it’s a great story and we’ll see because you’re playing a team that’s kind of has the same Mo Mojo going for them they’ve been doubted all year and um and Washington

Always seems to find a way to win so I think that’s the fun part of Monday night uh who who can finally be the team team that has the will to win that last game catch the rich eyes and show every single day on the Roku Channel 12 to3 Eastern for free

  1. If this was any other team in the NC facing Washington I’d be pulling for Washington. Been a solid team all year, some of their games were fun to watch, they’ve never been there before.
But FFS this is Michigans year dammit. We’ve watched this team go through too much the past 3 years and especially all the BS that’s happened to them this season and it’s their time to get it done. They were made to win the NC.

  2. If Michigan, I wonder if Kirk will comment on who exactly hands Harbaugh the Natty trophy ??? Betcha the NCAA has made sure that Kirk doesn't make any mention of the Michigan turmoil in terms of looking at the face of Charlie Baker handing his avowed enemy the National Championship trophy !!!!!

  3. That whole day and night were a like some kind of dream, can't even comprehend being there. The sights and sounds are surreal. Than top that with an OT win by UM over Bama and wow.

  4. How did Michigan manage to go an entire season and only play ONE team with a Top 50 offense (Ohio State #47). Kinda ballsy to say you have a great defense but not play ANYBODY with a great offense! At least UW played a boatload of top ten offenses and at least 5 games against teams with defenses in the Top 20 or 30. Michigan played against some great defense but ZERO great offenses. Monday will be Michigan's very first! Big 10 weirdly devoid of great QB's and great offenses this year. Even Alabama does not have a great offense.

  5. lol this will be a good video when they vacate Michigan’s wins from the last 2 years plus. Everyone is so delusional thinking if they win it all this just goes away. News flash it doesn’t!! Ohio state had wins and a bowl win against Arkansas vacated for TATTOOS!! You think Michigan doesn’t get anything vacated after literally cheating?? Haha can’t wait

  6. With all due (genuine) respect to Herbstreit, the booth should have been named for Keith Jackson. After all, he's the one who, in referring to bowl games, coined the phrase which every broadcaster since has used, calling the Rose Bowl "the granddaddy of them all"….

  7. How Mr. “Buckeye-Biased” Herbstreit was given the honor over Keith Jackson is pathetic.
He just “HAS” to Insert Ohio State into every conversation.
Hell – He’s even done so during NFL games. Al Michaels deserves better.

  8. Oh! No comments from Herbstreit on Ohio State being placed under NCAA investigation for allegedly gaining access to opponents Catapult practice footage.
“Of Course Not!” It’s nearly 30-years Herby – move on and take Corso with you.

  9. Michigan won't "play with their food" like they did against a scrappy alabama. I love that Wash fans have NO IDEA what's coming. This'll be fun.😂

  10. The Rose Bowl, the NCAA and the Media forget History. Kieth Jackson is on the outs. It's like the kids today say, who was Michael Jordan? Who was Magic Johnson? Who was Larry Bird?

  11. Very little is learned from winning, losing will either give you the fire to get better or make you quit altogether.

  12. Another way to say it “Let’s give them a pass!” Facts are facts and they purposely broke the rules and yet no one cares.
