One the Washington offensive Line’s been awesome all year we we’ve seen that the Michigan defensive line you know wreak havoc yesterday um if if Washington can protect at least a little bit they’re gonna be able to put up some points again they got to make some stops too

Michigan’s offense doesn’t scare you the explosive way that that you that Washington’s does they’ve got NFL receivers everywhere NFL backs NFL quarterback obviously um the Washington offensive line is just very impressive so to me if they if they can if they can be even play a B+ game B game I think

They could win just because the way penck slings the the ball around and you know big Rome who you know the Jets got I don’t think anybody be should be upset um and things of that nature uh I don’t know I IO is gonna pick Michigan they’re

Going to be you know it’s there’s a pack 12 you know first of all both teams will be in the Big 10 next year um there’s it’ll be an interesting kind of preview for what next year looks like but um I hope Washington wins personally um

Obviously I’m a USC guy so I think it’d be cool for the the last year of the real Pack 12 to get a to get a national champion out of it and Michael Penn’s story is really cool and and all these different things I just I think it’d be

Interesting but again Michigan’s really well you know Harbaugh is obviously getting his national title that mean he would then jump to the NFL there’s a lot of like underlying H like that’s interesting it’s like yeah it’s the hard boss story for Michigan right I mean like JJ McCarthy’s going to get drafted

Someone’s going to overdraft him he’s fine um he’s a winner he’s a winner he’s got all the intangibles he’s got he does some nice things he’s you know Mobile in the pocket but again is he I is he your first round pick like I I wouldn’t

Personally be that guy but um you know and Michael penx like if Michael Pennock goes out there and throws you know goes for another 400 yards and four touchdowns does he that accuracy ridic creep into the top 10 like do four quarterbacks go in the top 15 I know

He’s got the injury history and he’s older but oh yeah that’s crazy if you’re a Jets fan um you know which is obviously what a lot of the shows about yeah yeah you know everyone keeps you know talking about you know the offensive line and can jets go to those

Top offensive line and top receivers another path to getting that other than them losing is a lot of these quarterbacks more more than two quarterbacks going in the top six um you know that’s one of those things I don’t know if it’ll happen again there’s there’s injury questions and experience

Questions and things like that with Dani and penx and you bon like there’s a lot of good quarterbacks in this class you just need one to really you know someone to fall in love at five do the Giants fall in love with penck and all of a

Sudden um now Malik neighbors doesn’t go at five and now he’s there at seven and you know all of a sudden the Jets are they end up with Jo all like you know I mean that that’s the that’s the way the draft works it’s not necessarily always

What pick you have it’s who gets overdrafted look um I don’t think anybody really thought Garrett Wilson was going to get there at 10 two years ago I I think every you know I think people thought it’d be Drake London maybe Jameson Williams at 10 Falcons fell in love with Drake London who’s

Been a really good player it’s nothing against him but they fell in love with him right and the the Seahawks went tackle and all a sudden Garrett Wilson sitting there for the Jets so um that’s what you kind of have to hope for if

You’re a Jets fan if you want one of the tackles um or you want one of those big three receivers you got to hope maybe one quarterback slides up or you obviously you know drop off uh on this game against the Patriots again we’re still go will Parkins and the host for

Funny to kind of stir up jet Twitter just to see the reaction and the reaction was split but a lot of Paul you are an idiot so again the scale zero I’m an idiot 10 okay I could okay we’re getting there Justin Fields Jets this offseason that rumor what do you think

Um on the face of it like sure Justin Fields is the Jets backup he great right he’s he’s progressed a ton this year and especially the last you know since coming back from the injury and um he’s he is definitely better than Zach Wilson and that’s for sure um you know look

Hopefully with the right coaching and all these different things maybe you know learning under Aaron Rogers made sure but like the two biggest things are one there’s three things one MoneyWise he’s on the same clock as Zach Wilson so correct yeah it doesn’t make a ton of

Sense at all there because again you’d have to trade for him I think Conor Rogers referenced that he thought he maybe and I I think it was on either Badlands or um one of Connor’s many many shows he does a great job on so you know

You know maybe the Bears are going to look for that Sam darnold type package for really or a second round pick or something of that nature because yeah so the Jets don’t have a second round pick um a b they don’t really want to pay him obviously and see I think Fields has

Fields has been good enough the last six to eight weeks that he probably is a starter next year that’s good I’ve seen a lot of like the Giants make a ton of sense for fields and I actually don’t disagree at all because under Dall gotten the most out of these guys um

Yeah you’re right that the giant if the Giants go tackle a receiver do you pair you know Fields with um why Daniel Jones is out and all these different things uh so yeah I yes he’d be a really good backup for sure like there’s no question

About that but again I just don’t know that the path to get there the path to getting if he got cut maybe that’s a different story but again I think from what I actually don’t know that like the bear should still move him right like I

Think yeah you the number one pick lock number one you have the number one pick you restart the clock you get you get capital for fields and then you have like three other top 45 picks and correct it all makes sense to trade him but it seems like no one really wants to

Trade him They’re bringing back e flu too like do they do they hang on to him and trade back what do they do I don’t know they’re they’re really for the second year row that would be not I don’t I’m I’m not saying anything about Fields like hey you you either like them

Or you don’t there’s there’s 30 picks and 37 fumbles but there’s also a bunch of freaking touchdowns total tou L more easy to sell yourself on than like some of the stuff with z and I only say that the aspect of like there’s so many like insane Flash plays that you’re like dude

If you just put it together consistently but also the turnovers and the fumbles and he just the Mis protections and all these different things it’s like but boy two years in a row though that would make that’s just a crazy decision as an NFL team to do that twice with the same

Player I’m just saying that’s that’s bold five five years of rookie Caleb Williams yeah for to pay Justin fields in a year that’s the problem if you didn’t have to pay Fields it’d be different if this was two years ago or even last year right we saw last year

They they didn’t want but now I don’t know I I’d still move them I think if you get a second pick from the Giants or somebody like that now you have a Giants top 40 pick you have the own top 40 pick you have the um I know they gave up the

One pick for uh for montz sweat so you were couping that correct right um You have another top 10 P like I don’t know I feel like the Bears would be in a really good spot if they can if they could hit on quarterback which again we’ll see but that’s another one like

What do the Bears do because if the Bears traded back does that affect the Jets or exactly you know these are all like like I said before it’s not just where the Jets pick it’s also what happens in front of them and again you really hope that two or

Three quarterbacks go um if you know if you think there’s three really good receivers three the three top ones at least I should say three top receivers two top tackles that’s five two start doing the three three top quarterbacks that’s eight that means the Jets get one of those guys and

It’s not a quarterback that means stay up with a top tackle or top receiver yeah you’d feel much better about the Jets situation again everyone keeps telling me the Jets should trade back I don’t I don’t disagree but Joe Douglas never trades back so I don’t know why

We’re like assuming all of a sudden after five after five years he’s gonna just all a sudden not do something do something he’s never it’s like oh the Patriots should trade up with Bill bich like when of the Patriots ever do that the Patriots always trade back you know

What I mean so look at guys histories oh yeah if the Eagles traded up in the draft would you be surprised no of course not the Chiefs like those are teams that are just Ultra aggressive every year um but follow what Joe Douglas’s Trends have been he takes

Really high upside guys a tackle and receiver in the first round like obviously took sauce but other than that he’s taken a lot of offensive lineman and a lot of and he’s taking a receiver so I would say he might do that again because it’s the that’s what they need

Most so uh so what would you rate this on again zero complet I’d say I’ll say a two because I I don’t I think like football-wise again it makes sense but I just financially and draft Capital wise I don’t see a way that happens I like that logically it makes sense but for

Previous year Aaron Rogers wants to play with him let’s make it happen baby Garrett Wilson needs a new running mate obj Jets 2024 because he will be an unrestricted free Ag and will um I’ll go four okay um all right think like they had interest in him last year

The Jets offered him was very competitive I believe from what I understand they offered him somewhere in the range of one for nine with with a lot of upside um in that one for nine that was the second highest deal he got offered so again the Ravens uh doubling that was

Still insane look it did it worked out for him right I mean it doesn’t matter obviously they they’ve won they’re going to win 13 games or 12 games in the one seed so it doesn’t really matter but yeah here the numbers let me I have them

Here for obj he had 35 catches this year 565 doesn’t it feel like he’s played a lot better recently but like his numbers still kind of stuck yeah right the numbers suck but no I think to your point there is a little bit of an eye

Test there there’s been a couple of whoo on theine he looks much more like himself that said um yeah I don’t think it’s crazy but I think it depends on what happens to Receiver right if if they go tackle in round one and they don’t get Devonte do they pivot to you

Know in in Odell in um in free agency do they pivot to somebody like that right like I think that’s the way that’s the the path in which you could see it happen um I don’t see it happening if they draft a receiver in the first round

I just think I think that just at that point you got to invest everything you have in offensive line and maybe a big you know nose you know nose tackle somebody like that against the raw things of that nature but um no I don’t think it’s I don’t think it’s insane

They had interest in him last year I think you know you could see them having interest in him again um but again like I think a lot of would have to happen I’m curious what who pays Odell do Does Odell because better eye test wise and he stayed relatively healthy although he

Offseason being Joe Alton and Devonte Adams I’d like it a lot better than Odell and JC leam that’s a that’s a fair point let me ask you a quickie I I don’t know if you know the answer to this because so the Jets were going to pursue obj obviously well they did aggressively

Pursue OB and if they would have landed him Cory Davis would have still been on the roster at that point what was the plan did the Jets plan to cut or trade I’m not really I don’t know I don’t know that the Cory stuff is really weird it’s like all offseason you hear

All these like last offseason you heard all that stuff with Odell and like it was obviously very legit but then was like the Cory Davis stuff was just kind of everyone was just like they’re going to cut him or restructure him and or trade no question and then like none of that

Happened and it just didn’t really make a whole lot of sense what their plan with him just because was he gonna play this year out $13 million a year like I that’s what I’m that’s where I the mo I’m most confused I don’t even think I’m confused that the fact they didn’t cut

Him because I think you know look in hindsight like they needed them they needed the Jameson Crowder restructure to be hon that’s what I that’s what I thought maybe it was gonna happen or they were going to cut him um I didn’t think anyone would really trade for that

Contract because there’s no reason like if he was going to get restructured a cut like why would you trade for him maybe someone gave a day three pick or something yeah but the fact that like none of that happened and then he just walked away is just it’s still

Mind-blowing to me just that we’ve not heard a single thing yeah nothing like I I’ve asked everybody and everyone’s like I’ve heard one or two things that I can’t really even share or um I don’t know and it’s just like it’s been very again I hope everything’s okay that to

Me like scares me that that’s like very nonf footb and or it’s been so quiet yeah yeah it’s been so quiet or it’s just like as simple as hey I’m done I was done just a little weird start playing usually when you’re done you’re just done and you don’t walk away from $

Um but it felt like at Plan B for a lot of these other situations you know Dwayne Brown and maai beckton on paper should have been good like their their offensive line going of the season on paper was fine right I agree yes y the

One Plan B I guess they did do a good job of is McGovern bringing back McGovern on a cheap deal to let titman develop sure I guess I could give them some credit there yeah 1.9 mil though I hope again if we can bring it back on

That I’m all just like run it back but like TB a backup at that point but then it’s like right Plan B obviously a quarterback wasn’t wasn’t an issue um I feel like a receiver there wasn’t really a plan B they didn’t really pivot or do anything offensive line it felt like the

Plan B just I don’t know they just even in offseason right like Cory Odell doesn’t work so then it’s like okay now we go back to Corey Davis it’s like was that really your plan B yeah that was just like all right now let’s just not cut the guy we’ve talked about cutting

The Jets are going to tag him no matter what or restrict him in some way there’s transition tag there’s a lot of things they could place on him to at least slow down the pace of this Ferrari going 60 miles an hour down the highway they could do something so they get something

Of value so they don’t lose him for nothing so I feel like something of that nature is going to happen but do you bring him back do you tag and trade him as Phil suggest here what do you think of Phil’s suggestion here if the Jets let Bryce Hoff reach the open market

Without any compensation return I am going to rip the ever loving you should bleep out of the Jets for a lot of reasons one yeah the Jets have been looking for a homegrown Edge rusher that gets 10 gets eight to 10 plus sacks a year for over a decade right like we

Don’t even have to go back to John Abraham like since Sean Ellis they had I don’t even know I I was looking at the other day like muhamed Wilkerson I guess is the last defensive line but like he wasn’t an edge rusher he was a defensive tackle and a three

Four so defensive end but he’s obviously more more like that jfm mold um they have not had a true Ed rusher be I think if Bry gets two sacks he’ be the first one and I think since Sean Ellis I believe and Calvin Pace had yeah I just

About to say cow had the random 10 but I don’t know how other than that it was you know Sean Ellis before that Abraham Etc um he’s 25 he’s only gotten better each year he’s improved I mean I talked about him my show the other day right

Now if he told me to vacuum who could who do I want next year on a one-year deal I’d Rather Have Bryce Hoff than Brian Burns Bryce Hof has been way better than Brian Burns this year like he just has Brian Burns doesn’t tackle well he doesn’t play The Run either like

Bry off’s just been a better pass rusher um and Brian Burns if he wasn’t a first round pick and brof was would you look at these guys like I think everyone Oh’s he’s a udfa like Shaq Barrett was udfa too and the Broncos thought the same

Thing the Jets did well we think with the Jets would think scenario correct yes he went to the Bucks and instantly got paid and he got paid a lot of what you know and he won a Super Bowl and he 20 sacks in a year like again I’m not

Saying Bryce off’s going to do that I’m just saying like the whole point of the Jets culture that I think we’ve you I know you’ve done a bunch of stuff on like if you produce here and you’re a homegrown guy you should get paid here yeah the Jets have done way too we

Talked about Jamal Adams we talked about way too many trading you know trading draft picks and um letting speak of John Abraham joh Abraham oh cool like John Abraham’s awesome boom trade him like Jamal Adams was a two-time Opera boom trade again these trades in the Jets got

Very lucky that Mangold worked they got very lucky that Gary Wilson and avt have been good like they could have been bad picks because the Jets have had plenty of bad ones and then you’re left sitting there without your All Pro and you’re left sitting there with bad draft picks

So the my thing biggest thing is if you’re team what’s what are you giving up for huff because if he gets on a tag and trade he’s guaranteed like 22 or 223 million next year so you have to be a contender at that point my gut say a two

In change and maybe if you squint a l then if you’re the Jets is that worth it that’s also true right yeah right it’s like I just feel like you could easily I don’t I just feel like three for 50 with like 25 to 20 28 million guaranteed

Mostly in year three um you give Huff a big signing bonus because he’s in edfa you kind of get him get him paid there he yeah right he’s never been paid he did 4.3 million on this tag which is like way more money thir what Wilson

Made suck this year exactly right um no look I I just to me it just makes so much sense the scheme’s good for him he’s great like when he’s in the lineup even two year like actually I guess three years ago um salah’s first year if

You look at the stats even when he played vers when he didn’t because he had the back injury I think he only played eight games like they were like a pretty respectable defense in the eight games he played 8 uh I guess nine he didn’t they were

Horrendous and then last year when he he played bunch he was much better he pressure more pressures and sacks this year you know a lot more you know added some more sacks in there started playing earlier Downs I just think it’s such a simple solution next year like this Jets
