Tournaments and winning is not even anywhere near their mind and they find themselves in content like kizner often did a lot but they’re there to finish 30th because as kizner joked like dudes you have like any idea how much it pays to finish 30th on the PGA tour and I

Know I see some of these courses these yardages going when I arrive on a site I know I can’t win but then they show me what 30th pays and I get real excited so yeah I love I love everything kizner brings I do maybe that was wrong of me

To say we need someone more accomplished cuz you’re right with these Jabron Fields he’s probably the exact guy we need so the other the three that would have made my very top of the list I I guess especially if we consider Patty unrealistic as a part of this he would

Be on that that Podium for me it would be Phil number one polter number two Patty number three two of those guys are on live so they’re probably out all three of those guys are probably out and what they did by giving kizner and it’s not his job longterm maybe he can play

Clearly had nice careers that I have no idea who they were when they played like raling and Jim Gallagher but they’re like fine have no problem uh Johnson Wagner because of my age like I’m more familiar with him and he was he was good enough for a period of time where he was

Doing like you just pick which Super Elite player you think is going to win and don’t waste time like making a card of like a bunch of long shots like you just go all in on one guy or two guy like like who wins the Masters the best

Players in the world it’s who wins the Masters you know long shots winning the Masters well we did that once say I remember a time when a long shot did win a master and it’s the reason that this show is still on the air today yes

Probably it gave us the air in the tire a little bit of credibility uh um yeah and and Equity with with some members of of the audience um it’d be nice to do that again but even looking at it like the the it’s so funny do see the odds

Now this is the ninth year that we’ve done this show previewing the major championships before the season has started if you had told a decade ago us that there was 35 players under 50 to one on a Futures market for the Masters we would have laughed you out of the

Building like minwoo is 65 to1 today at draftking Sportsbook if draftking Sportsbook had been in existence 10 years ago he would have been 150 to one yes uh I couldn’t have put that any better it is impossible now the amount of players how they squeeze it they

Really don’t let you get them on the Futures market and I mean I don’t know I don’t know what they’re uh afraid of like they should be so happy to sit on your money right now no no no no because they still are sitting on the money like at at this

Point we’ve done shows like even as soon as four years ago I would have three bets in on the Masters you would have like six in and our cards would basically be done by now we’d add on as it went along because we’d be able to pick off good numbers people are still

Making bets on this at the terrible odds I and maybe it’s just me maybe the odds are listen they’re not more fair they’re completely unfair the amount of handle that’s taken on these Futures markets is quite ridiculous me on a regular golf tournament it’s pretty ridiculous in

These future markets for Majors but it’s not stopping anyone from betting it because people want to say that they got oh man I really wanted to bet sunj at 40 to1 like what are the chances that sunj is shorter than 40 to1 come April like 5% at this point he’s probably going to

Be 66 to1 70 to1 the week so why bet it now that was the point I was going to make is we actually while we are don’t see any competition in the Futures Market we do I’ve noticed we do see competition in the marketplace like the weeks of the

Tournaments um and the numbers get get a lot higher in terms of betting Masters Futures granted I said the ones that I have two of the two of them are 80 and 100 to one so make of that what you will I’m just not ready to make my decision

Like this is I have no I don’t know right now I don’t want to decide Rah Sheffer Brooks Rory right now like I don’t want to make that decision today and if I lose a couple points by having to make it in like three four months

From now like that’s fine but I’m not ready to decide which Super Elite is winning this thing this year so I have no real interest in getting involved in the betting market and they’ve cut the knees out on the players who I would probably be interested in in being

Allowed to bet I did see a lot of people like zalot torus hit a putt maybe like the first thing of the the hero the hero and like people were running to bet him at at 50 to one which maybe is good like maybe yeah I guess I’ll be jealous of

Those guys when the Masters comes and he won something in the on the West Coast to start the year but but the only the only way that I mean here’s why I don’t think that’s a good bet because whatever number he would have to I mean there are circumstances where this doesn’t happen

But whatever number that you will hit to for him to win in one of the West Coast events is probably going to be very similar to this number that you just bet him at to win The Masters because the only way that his Masters number crumbles if something like that happens

And there’s going to be no faith in zorus at any of these tournaments until he actually does something coming off of the injury so you can probably bet zorus at the similar number at the American Express instead of betting him at the Masters that’s Pro well okay to that

Point then um and I think DraftKings took it down pat but forever this swing season this winter up until ROM’s move became official um and it’s kind of embarrassing to say I pretty much do have like oh oh no they have them up they have waste management odds up on

DraftKings and to your exact point you can bet will zotor right now to win in Phoenix and he might be there and it’s not going to be an elevated it’s not an elevated event it’s after Pebble which is elevated I don’t know if he’s in that still anyhow that’s your exact point is

You can you’ll probably be able to get will Alor to win 40 to1 a regular tournament why are you betting him 40 to1 to win a major yeah and he would in order again in order for that number to be a good number by the time Augusta rolles around he would actually probably

Have to have won something in between or had like two seconds and then you wouldn’t win anyway but that would be the shitty part about it but I would take my chances at some of the weaker tournaments maybe some of the harder venues like a Riv or the farmer

Something like that against a weaker field versus when everyone shows up including the live guys at Augusta when he’s still coming off the injury so and to your point like the books don’t want to hold your money for that long they want you to turn that money over week

Over week so they can get their raik every single way I don’t think they mind they don’t mind it but they’re going to make you pay a premium to do that and not spend that money betting week over week yeah of course and I always like you know like the true professional

Gambler like they laugh at anyone even at a good number even at a number they would deem Fair they like they’ laugh at me for putting like $100 on a future on a golf future in like five six months from now because they’re like dude I take that $100 I

Turn it into 200 you know I do with that 200 I turn it into 400 and so on and so on you’re an idiot for giving them your $100 you could turn that into thousands once again you should play in the one andone because it starts the

Sony Open so you still have a two weeks to get yourself in it it will fill very quickly so go to Fantasy Golf championships. right now and get one two three four or five entries there’s a$1 thousand one and done as well that I usually end up playing in every year and

Come like dead last so I’m like free a free thousand bucks in that one if you want to come play it PGA Championship is back at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky for the first time in one decade in 2014 Rory won his second consecutive major championship and that was the last time

He won a major he outlasted Phil mikkelson and Ricky Fowler in darkness the time before that was 2000 when tiger won which was when he beat Bob May in the playoff he had the point walking in the 17t putt on the 72 hole to get in to

I I think that was that was the one right that was the point put from Tiger yeah yeah yeah and may that was the PGA yeah yeah and then 1996 was the time before that Mark Brooks won in a sudden death playoff against Kenny Perry marking his only major Championship win nothing

I can really I guess I mean I don’t know how good of a driver of the ball Mark Brooks was but it’s it’s it’s kind of strange to see like those different style of names like Tiger and Rory when they’re the past two Champions at anything that points like the highest

Pedigree of player possible for that time is this the Vic spot that Vic or sheffler like the highest pedigree possible vicer Vic or Sheffer or like ROM who I believe is the best player in the world like they’re again how do you have a how do

You how can you bet a long shot in these future markets with with that sort of situation unless it’s an enormous number on somebody well it’s it hasn’t come through and I think we think of this as a very binary thing of this guy won or

This guy lost the PGA Championship I for my money has been the best major gez each of the past three years maybe four years not even close at this point not even close between course selection um the the the guys playing for it at the

End they have and nine years ago when we started this I used to be like it was like the stepchild of Majors it was like no one ever wants and I would still probably say like kids don’t grow up wanting to like hit an eight-footer to win the PGA unless you’re Justin Thomas

And that was your dad’s thing uh you’re like a Masters or US Open or if a European an Open Championship but this tournament it’s just been magical they they it’s been the best major hands down it’s not even close I don’t think with they what they do each year but we

Forget that Connor’s outside of plugging the ball was very much in the mix this year hell Michael block was in the mix this year at super duper long odds and then Brooks ends up winning as one of the favorites with Vic there in second so that’s what we remember the year

Before Thomas was one of the favorites we all had zot torus had like a pretty decent number but it was a 100 to1 Meo Pereira that probably should have won that tournament if he doesn’t put it in the drink on the 72 hole so we’ve had

Long shots alive hell Phil won it 200 to1 against Brooks three years ago or whatever the hell that was so long shots have been in play for this tournament and they’ve only won one of the three times but you when you get a long shot

Into the mix at I mean the I think the Open Championship will always be the one because of the elements because of the shorter coures the Fescue the rain the wind whatever it might be that you do have a better chance at a long shot for some of those tournaments it now feels

Like the PGA is number two where for a long time it didn’t feel that way at all that it was always like the best guys that won yeah there’s a good chance you can cash in each way that will pay more than the winner I think we might have done that

With Luke list a few years ago on a Brooks one was I mean that yeah um like the luk list each way paid as much as the um the Brooks win like in the teens that’s possible you’re you’re entirely right and if I got to think

That way like I don’t know like true pedigree and striking like Tom Kim might be a guy but I don’t want to bet it I don’t I I’m not ready to to make any any commitment there I do have one bet here and it should surprise nobody

And it was made in the flurry with the others I have ludig at 100 to one so you have Ludwig to win all four majors like you have a single no I think it just ends at the US I didn’t bet the open the PGA was the one that made um yeah ludig

And you want to know something just as we were doing this Pat I just went to confirmed to look at it on DraftKings but when you have to go that far into your open bets you come across things like Justin Herbert to win NFL

MVP for a lot of money and it makes me not feel good it’s too bad maybe you can win it back somewhere else maybe they’ll gift you a Super Bowl next year who knows the one I was looking at you don’t need to bet it now but the one that I

Have my eye on for this would be I think this is a better Keegan spot than some of the the other ones like some of the other major championships he’s 100 to one right now he has won a PGA Championship in the past and and when

You tell me that like Mark Brooks and Bob May and Kenny Perry I know that they seem old to us now at the time obviously they weren’t super old but they weren’t super young either that Keegan kind of fits into that category hell Phil wasn’t young in

2014 yes so this is what’s important to me as I’m looking at this board here Pat um because I believe I I think two years ago maybe two and a half years ago uh I’m a man of my word like what I said uh in the previous show about betting

Thomas Peters every single live event um when I inquire about yoim Neiman’s major status it is because I have a 10-year contract of betting him to win the PJ championship and we’re only in year three is he in um I don’t know I don’t

Think he is but I see some books have an 80 to one yeah they’re not afraid to they’re not afraid to post guys for you to bet on who don’t play so they can just take those are the easiest winning bets the sports book can have and sort of like he is the

Prototypical PGA Player for me and that’s why I felt so silly when it was Meo the other Chilean doing it like the first year of my deal with with with um with Neeman but yeah I mean you’re not wrong like I could see a nean a Sam Burns uh having great success at

Valhalla and even Cory Connor’s again to be perfectly honest to have a lovely PGA Championship see PGA Championship Martin kimer Brooks Kea Phil Mickelson Bryson DJ and cam Smith and now ROM are the players who are exempt from livor into the PGA Championship as it stands right

Now yeah and I don’t know Neeman Neiman didn’t really make was it me I think it was Meo last year who really made no effort to qualify for the majors he wasn’t in anyway I don’t know what some of these guys are out like what you know what they care

About but I’ll bet nean if he’s there I’d love to get an 80 to one on him I mean that that’ be great does this fall in line with what you were talking about the great core selections for the PGA Championship I I am like don’t put

Myself out to be a course snob but I have fantastic major championship met like I was enthralled with that Showdown last time they were there and I was excited to hear they’re coming back um yeah so I I I try like everything they’ve done they’ve hit a home run I

Don’t even question them anymore Pat this is like how do I put this one of the greatest things in life of being a sports fan when it happens is having a GM so good that he can make any transaction and you blindly be like yeah

I think I know things but like that guy is the best and I don’t even have to question it and I can put head to pillow that’s was is my opinion of the PGA of America right now and this tournament and the setup of this tournament year in

Year out they did it they picked it they’ve got all my trust in the world that it’s going to be a true Banger because they haven’t failed in a while so it’s funny after you get past Rory won at valala Phil came second Ricky actually ended up in a tie for third

With Stenson the names after him on that list are really interesting it’s furick Mayan Stricker and Jimmy Walker and Ryan Palmer Texas guys well I guess Wisconsin for Stricker but you know not the biggest bombers just kind of your collection of but Walker’s a huge hitter wasn’t he was he

Yeah I think he was a bit of a beast he ended up winning the PGA Championship as well a few years he won the one in Charlotte I think yeah like Palmer was I mean especially at the time or no Justin Thomas won in Charlotte which one did
