Everybody this has got to be the most affordable driver in 2024 and we’re going to unpackage it and review it today I’m so excited it’s the Kirkland driver coming in at what the heck are you wearing what I hate it immediately now what what’s what

What are you what are you wearing is it the glasses the glasses don’t help well I’m trying to show off our that we sell Oakley now I’m trying to to show off all our Oakley I have to show you a little clip we have Oakley in the

Showroom so I figured I’d represent no you figured wrong I love the tenacity I really appreciate and respect it all right I’ll change I’ll change let’s Go okay guys before we continue this unboxing don’t forget if you’re in the Denver metro area or you’re coming through Colorado stop in see us you can get fitted for your irons your driver we can ship them straight to your house from the manufacturer if you’re out of

State also pick up a wedge some swag we got apparel we got Oakley we got Putters You Name It We got it email us here at golf at Embers living if you need any equipment but okay let’s get into our review here okay so we have the Kirkland

Driver if you watched our iron review what is going to be the biggest con with this driver the biggest negative to it you’re choosing stiff or regular so again just like the irons there’s no flexibility other than those two choices flexib flexible yeah no pun intended no flexibility on getting a fitted driver

Okay so before we open this what are the facts what do we know what’s the price of this bad boy $199 okay that’s got to be the lowest price I know pxg is running some crazy sales right now but those are sales this is all the time

$.99 let’s see it stiff a regular Flex all it comes with huzzle adjustment easy easy easy Kirkland head cover sold out right we bought this on eBay yeah we had to buy it on eBay there’s probably a better way to open this yeah Trevor loves just opening things Michael Scott style like an

Ape oh are you kidding me dude yeah you might have to cut it what have you done just cut it why’d you do that okay well it’s done now I can’t change it all right so what comes in the Box you saw it so there’s not a whole lot of

Unboxing to do you got a Kirkland Signature uh wrench for your hosle adjustment which is going to be up degree down degree and draw setting I believe okay so we have two come on dude I just am picking up all this crap right behind you Jeepers are you kidding me stop irritating

Me not bad looking kind of looks like a pxg driver okay so what do we got fax R titanium and then a carbon face but everything else should be titanium the facein here Titan or crown have a draw setting 10 10 and a 12° can you order a

9° can you canot order a 9° you get 10 and 60 G stiff Flex Even Flow Rip Tide the only way you can order this is right-handed 10 and 1 12° stiff or regular okay so what I like about it is for the general

Public you a 60 a 60 G weight and it’s deflex is fairly common yeah so it’s not like I thought the iron shafts were a little too heavy for your average Joe yeah so this is shaft probably caters a little bit more to the general public

But to me the the irons really showed the importance of a proper fitting and you save money but you really take a big hit in the performance Department by not being fitted now we’re going to do another video on this but I don’t think there’s a more important Club you need

To be fitted for more than driver yeah so essentially the faster our swing speed is the more important it is to get you into the right shaft yeah and there’s no faster Club in your bag than driver and what’s a very common misconception that stiff is stiff and

Regular is regular yeah now granted it is that is true stiff is stiff regular is regular but there’s so many little intimacies within each shaft that you need to know about so do we put this do we test this against our current Gamers so both of our Gamers have $300 shaft

Upgrades um extra stiff shafts and uh they’re completely dialed in but it’s going to be you know $800 driver versus this guy $199 to really show the difference between what you get for $199 versus a fully fitted driver to us and I guarantee you this thing is going to get

Obliterated or maybe it won’t maybe not not or do we build a driver like the pxg driver that’s 199 right now and put it up against this9 to 199 with a similar shaft the problem is we’re still going to pick pick the stock shaft we’d have

To excuse me we’d have to pick a shaft that matches this which isn’t available so well we get a 60 G stiff just pick one so what do you think which way I’d like to see how it games against mine but I see predicament there let’s do it

I see it let’s do it against ours I know it’s going to get obliterated by ours but it’ be a pleasant surprise it’ be a pleasant surprise if it doesn’t that is whippy so let’s give her a whirl let’s do it you’re you’re set to go sticker it $199 Kirkland driver

Versus my $800 driver in my bag my gamer Club let’s put the Kirkland up first see what she does so before I hit this first one my prediction is I think we’re going to see some good ball speed some good club head speed but without being fitted

For the right shaft I think we’re going to see a lot of dispersion we’re going to see a lot left and a lot right which is really what you pay the price for without a proper fitting but maybe I’m wrong let’s see not too bad it’s like a little

Bullet okay so let me show you all right so I hit about five or six so far we’re not going to get crazy into the data yet but this is what I’m talking about with dispersion see this I’m hitting the ball all over the club face which is going to cause quite

A bit of dispersion and a lot of that has to do with the way the shaft is releasing if it’s not the right shaft it’s not releasing right that’s what starts to happen so even though this could be a really good club head if you’re hitting it all over the face here

Here here here it doesn’t matter how good of a club it is oh is you’re going to get one no too spinny nope 30 303 oh got it 307 yards he got the uh Costco driver to Cream City okay so there’s the Kirkland Trevor and I have got all the data we

Need time for gamers time to get in that bag pull out what we got Trevor’s up first he’ll give us a little tour of what he’s gaming so I’m gaming the Srixon zx5 have it set at n and a half degrees stock playing the Ventus black 6X velor

Shaft so this is $250 $300 shaft upgrade um just helps with stabilization a lot now I think once you’re up over that 100 mph range uh a fitted shaft is really really important but we’ll see swing speed swing speed yeah okay so for me uh I’ve been tinkering

Some things are are going to be changing soon but right now currently in the bag is going to be the Cobra Arrow jet 105 palm tree Edition and then as far as shaft goes I got the Ventus blue 6X with the velor um this has been my shaft so

Whichever driver head I end up in for next season this shaft isn’t changing it’s just the one I love the most so here we go let’s see what the Cobra can do all right so let’s compare some data for me all right so here’s my club data so

Efficiency efficiency is taking our ball speed and our club head speed dividing them together so as more efficient with my stricks on okay but not too far off the the Kirkland did feel really good I think you know for what it is Club head speed about almost 5 mph faster so

Faster Club head speed so we’re swinging the club faster and I think that has a lot to do with the shaft because it felt like it felt like there was like drag you’re more in sync with your stock driver well obviously yeah but the the Costco one felt like it had like a

Little drag like a little little behind all right now here’s what I really want to pay attention to because this is where I think fitting is so important ball speed obviously swinging faster ball speed is much faster fter here compared to here about 12 mph faster my spin rate’s better and again

You know that’s that’s ideally what I want is about 2900 RPMs that’s because that’s a fitted shaft that spin rate is coming from the shaft not the club head so naturally it should be better further carry further yards about 40 yards further so significant difference in club head

Speed and ball speed and total carry all right yeah but here’s the money maker and here’s why I think getting fitted is so important with the driver look at my dispersion rate so here is my dispersion rate for Kirkland all right here is my dispersion rate with my

STS on so I’m finding Fairways and I’m not out of bounds little Timmy who’s playing in his backyard over here isn’t in any danger with my streaks on no okay now here’s the thing when we get fit all right we always have mishits okay so no matter what we’re going to have Mish

Hits and without a fitting your mishits could be anywhere within this realm right so our goal when we’re fitting somebody is to go from here and take you to here so we’re shrinking the golf course for you so we’re never going to keep you on this line 100% not even the pros are

On that line all right not going to happen so we’re minimizing and shrinking Mish hits and nothing there’s no bigger proof of that than the test we just did yeah I knew the Kirkland didn’t stand the chance because it’s not a fitted driver even though it’s a very very good driver

I’ll give you my final thoughts on in the end but let’s see if Tate’s Tate’s Tate’s ah Tate’s data looks the same I got you okay okay so here we go I really caught a rhythm with the Kirkland I also felt really good with my Cobra and I

Think the proof of that is in the data so with the Kirkland driver my efficiency was 1.44 with my um my standard Cobra is 1.43 like Trevor already said that’s a a algorithm ideally for a driver the perfect shot should be a 1.5 so Club head speed here I got 109.5 with my

Cobra 109.2 with the Kirkland again almost dialed in exactly the same Trevor can you switch us over to ball data yep so here ball speed again 156 with both of them3 mil an hour faster with Kirkland so that could come from just hitting the screws maybe one more time right in The

Sweet Spot can uh make that speed different here’s going to be where I like to find the biggest numbers is carry the Kirkland went four yards further on average but the carried almost identical here’s the biggest number that Trevor obviously showed us a lot of information here so the Kirkland

Here is going to be this elongated oval and then my Cobra is going to be this circle so even though my Cobra’s dispersion is bigger front to back it’s still tighter left to right so if I’m looking down the Fairway the Kirkland was still in a tighter dispersion left

To right so like Trevor’s cone diagram he showed the cone of my Kirk or the Cobra was actually tighter than that Kirkland by only a few yards but it still makes a big difference now we left every Miss hit in there because every single shot I think you it’s important

To keep your Miss hits in there um because a fitting is going to minimize or Shrink those M hits so if we took one of Tate’s Cobra’s M hits out for example yeah just one can skew that like shrink it Monster if I had one that I missed 50 yards to the

It can really that might be a huge outlier that’s taking up all the data yeah but you’re a lot closer than I thought yeah overall going into a 600 yard par five I’d still want the cobra in my hand just based on this data but according to the data they finished

Almost identical which is awesome good for good for Kirkland okay so final takes Trev how are you rating this bad boy obviously safe to say price is going to be a five budget wise it’s really hard to beat for $199 you’re not beating a $200 driver I’m agree with you there

Okay now looks um you know a lot of drivers look the same it’s got that shiny black carb looks good i’ give it three yeah I was thinking the same thing yeah I mean it doesn’t look bad there nothing jumping off the page at me though either no now

Performance um for me it didn’t perform nearly as well as it did for you so I’m going to give it a five on performance yeah now just like just like my iron review it’s a five and the head felt good it had good club head speed it felt good what do you

Think of the sound sounded good yeah um if I put in a good shaft in this which I don’t even know if you get where you buy these Kirkland tips at now if I get a get fitted and get a shaft in here I can turn this driver into an eight yeah I

Agree I can but then I spend $200 on a shaft now I’m in $400 range which is the price of the other brands yeah I’m going to go ahead and drop it in out of seven yeah it did really well for you yeah Seven’s pretty good yeah and the reason

Why I think Tate’s data was closer is you are kind of playing a little bit when you buy something out of the box it’s kind of like a game of roulette yeah it really is like sometimes out of the box it can be sinks up it can sink

Up with your swing and sometimes it can’t and I think we saw that today like out of the box doesn’t doesn’t jive with me is that weird both Costco products I did terrible with and you did pretty good with yeah I love Costco that is true so I think it’s a

Great great driver I do think it’s good for $199 for1 99 bucks you can’t beat it if you’re in a regular Flex swing you’re a slow slow swing speed you know 80 90 mph something like that um I would have no problem with this if you’re getting serious about Golf and

Um you know your swing speed’s getting up there you really need to get fitted cuz if you’re a weekend warrior and you’re just looking for a budget set of clubs I’d have no problem buying this but if you’re going out and playing all the time and this thing’s going out of

The bounce on you all the time and you’re getting super frustrated and and pissed off on rounds that you spend $100 on right all because you can save $200 on a driver right like that makes no sense like if you’re spending money on golf every week and you’re playing

Really frustrated golf because you were too cheap to get fitted yeah that’s dumb yeah and here’s the other side of that coin qu playing rounds of golf save your money for a month get the right equipment and then start playing again yeah and here’s the other thing is if if

You can’t swing the golf club like if you’re that new to golf that you can’t put the same swing on the club every time don’t go buy a used stealth you need to this is the perfect club for that figure out which one you need regular or stiff spend the $200 you have

A brand new driver that’s adjustable so you can even tweak it but if you can swing the club consistently the driver is going to be the biggest one yeah so my turn no that was it U that’s really my take on I think it’s really really

Good for the money but like I say to all golfers sold out though so it’s not worth it on eBay for 900 I we had to get it on eBay yeah not for 900 no but I know so which is still too expensive um I think don’t watch our reviews and be

Like okay well they said to get this think about it’s dependent on you personally so think about what applies to you take the feedback we give you and am I a weekend warrior that doesn’t really care how I play I just want to have fun with the boys and you want

Shiny driver get it go buy it if you’re not if not spend the money and get fitted yeah it’s worth it all right see you guys

  1. So my takeaway is that this was a review of different shafts. Would have been nice if you did the review using similar shafts. If Kirkland came out with adjustable weight kit for the putter I’m sure they’ll come out with hosels for the driver for people to change shafts.

  2. Tates AOA is negative 3.4 launch angle of 7.4 with Cobra. Needs a higher lofted clubhead and higher launching shaft I would think. Kirkland had better launch angle for him at 10.5 and that softer shaft.

  3. Lmaoo you can see the brother love when Trevor is throwing the garbage in the ground😂😂 another great review! Thanks a lot for the info! Keep up the work 🔥

  4. Great review as usual. I can see where this driver will fit perfect for a brand new golfer or someone with limited money and still give some very good performance. Agree that the shaft may not suit some swing types but can see where this shaft can fit a wide range of golfers. Personally I think it looks more like a Titleist driver. I also believe that the shaft adapter can be found somewhere and then allow someone to change shafts, and there are pretty nice shafts available that are very affordable.
