Tournaments and he was excited you know he doesn’t always get to fish oh it’s always nice to be able to bring somebody off their charter boat to fish especially a captain who drives yes all the time so I think he was just as fired up Scotty got a buddy coming

Down here in Key West Florida and charter fishing here for about 26 years now it’s hard to believe it’s been that long we fish a lot doing close to 300 trips a year but uh fish Key West really special place to fish man when you told
Me Bryce was coming I was pretty excited I like fishing with Bryce and like everything just said it’s nice to have another guy to talk to and another really good angler who doesn’t get to Fish very often one today boys far far must be going in the goal
Catch fish that’s what we’re doing got a couple of Cobia poles ready to go if you see any floaters one good thing is you don’t have to pull the anchor all right we got we got an anchor all right we got enough to get us in trouble until
We figure out what we’re going to do you’re coming to Key West you better plan ahead of time everybody wants Paradise yeah you better plan ahead of time book your rooms early your house your Charter Captain that’s the most important so many people call and they’re like hey um I’m gonna be there
This weekend you got you know any Captain to take me out like no not this weekend I mean everybody might look good no yeah you definitely got to plan it out and well you’re so correct if they’re available on like a last minute shot and it wasn’t a cancellation yeah
It might not be the guy you want to go probably not the guy you want to go out with all right we got a beautiful day light it up brother we gotta catch base still let’s go all right here we go I had to meet us there early in the
Morning right there at Ocean Edge you already had the boat you know you’re staying at the hotel uh you had the boat at the fuel dock fueled up iced up ready to go and uh so we it was just a hop and a skit and we were already heading out looking for
Some pelchers if it was when we woke up it was calm with a game plan that’s all you can ask Bryce I think you’re gonna have to go around this point can you hear him no I want you to go to that white ball and then go in there’s a flat that comes out right there the one that hit a bunch of buttons the other one’s ignition I got you here he goes
They’re going by Oh you’re gonna like this one if I can get another one of those let me fill up buckets it’s a lot easier when we pull up the shrimp boats you know it’s always great you know you’ve got the pilchards down here pretty good towards the west but every now and then
With that boat full of fuel we can’t always go where we need to go so just because there’s Pelicans diving sometimes you got to get the binoculars onto them to make sure they’re not diving on glass minnows now the quick check with binoculars we ‘ve noticed
That that was going to be filtered so it’s worth trying to get in there one time and get out I got plenty on the deck to fill a bucket all right close that the weather was so nice I got some spots pretty far out that we don’t get to that often and
Uh you know we just once we had that bait we just took off man and we started heading north and as we’re heading to our Waypoint our heading anytime I see a shrimp boat we’re going to stop and check the boat because basically The Shrimp Boat um shrimps all night long
For the people who don’t know they sleep during the day but at first light they have a deck full of fish shrimp crabs and they pick through all that and grab the shrimp and uh you know obviously put the shrimp in the freezer and then push
All that stuff over the side and they’ll just be they can be cobias there can be tuna fish there can be Snappers there can be Bonitas I mean it’s just I’ve seen sailfish behind the shrimp boats there can be any anything you don’t know what you’re going to find so we try to

Ended up being a really big cobia and uh we’re able to get baits in front of him catch a really nice big fish it’s actually my personal best Kobe I’ve had clients catch bigger cobias that have been captains for but as far as myself on the rod it’s definitely a personal

Just held him on the surface you could get a 35 pound AJ’s jumping out the mouth and just boom boom boom I did it for a few minutes that was almost as fun as catching a fish and but after a while we like you know we’re not gonna get a mangrove here try

It was kind of a nuisance almost you know I hate to say that but it’s like you literally couldn’t catch a snapper if you tried you weren’t catching right anything unless it swam right to the boat and you placed it in its hook or placed it in
