Was you know incredible night of darks last night um and you know that’s just something that I just can’t be tired at the moment I feel I feel so alive so look I’ve I’ve I’ve probably seen all your games that Colin game was unbelievable Joe I couldn’t believe it

And the aaf on your face when that final Dart went in it was you know this has been a roller coaster for you hasn’t it yeah it’s you know it’s been it’s been an incredible roller coaster for me um you know I was asked I was asked last

Night you know what was the the most important game for you and it was the Joe cullin game um you know I was I was two Darts Away from not even you know I wouldn’t be sat here right now we missed two DS at dou 18 and uh you know I was

Very very fortunate that I you know overcome that game um you know that was a battle a real battle um you know I worked incredibly hard to keep myself in the game when you know I was staring defeat in the face and uh you know now sat with that world championship trophy

You know that was the the clinical game which I was really really pleased to get through and look when you had to pull out the fire some of your finishing was magnificent that is yeah that’s I mean that’s one of the the the massive things that I can look back from this

Tournament and what was so you know pleasing uh with my finishing Under Pressure so many times not just in the final but you know in in the quarterfinals in the last 16 against Joe the last 32 against Ricardo you know there was so many pleasing aspects for

Me which I thought you know I held myself together um you know and it it was you know my score everyone knows how good my scoring is but my finishing you know was was really up to scratch this tournament and uh it definitely is the reason why I’ve got my name on that

Incredible trophy sat next to me Luke first of all want to say congratulations um it was entertaining last night watching it but I want to ask you how you got through last night with you know the crowd they were all going most of the crowd were going for um your

Opponent how did you get through that to um get the win last night yeah I mean you know the crowd were always going to be on Luke’s side L L’s side because you know he’s he’s been this uh incredible story in in the world championships and uh I think everybody

Everybody sort of knows about this story you know he’s a 16y old kid who’s uh you know burst onto the scene and shown that he’s got incredible grit determination butle you know the crowd was always going to be on his side so I knew that before I walked up there last night you

Know I think the the amazing thing about the crowd as well as much as they were on his side they they definitely did allow a fair game they didn’t sort of uh you know put put me off in any situation under pressure or when I was on doubles

To win sets you know they really did allow us both to play at you such a free level and you know we’ve got a great Rhythm when we play against each other and uh you know I thought it was a fantastic final you know like you say

The crowd W were against me and it makes it harder for me uh playing but uh I know I showed a lot of gr myself to get through that with the crow you know against me well done man look there was a little spell early on and not last

Night but in the week where was there someone giving you a bit of hassle cuz I could see you getting a little bit angry and you put your hands to your ears when you’d won it saying what have you got to say now was there someone just been a bit

Naughty um no not because when I played in the last 32 against Ricardo Peto um you know there there’s a our sport is has a massive German conting that that supports you know our sport um and you know they come all the way from Germany to to to support Ricardo the world

Championships and they just put you know they just uh the fans that that were just cheering for him so much and had a couple of guys that were over in that section that were whistling and burning every throw um and it was really really tough trust me it’s really really hard

To to play through that but um you know when I won the game obviously what you see is you know I give it back to him a little bit and if they’re going to give it to me a whole game then you know I

Get it back to him at the end and uh you know that was definitely aesthetically a pleasing win for myself in this tournament so look 500 Grand I know you’re probably shy about it but you you’re also donating a fair old chunk of that to charity can you tell us a little

Bit about that what charity yeah I mean obviously with uh the prostate cancer the paty power obviously donated a lot of lot of money for the for the amount of 180s that we’ve all hit I can’t remember the the exact total um but I know that I think I

Think it was over £900,000 that we’ve donated to to prostate cancer as a group all of us as players um you know collectively from myself I think I think I at 73 73 1880s which is £73,000 that will be donated towards that obviously a close thing towards my heart

Because you know this is something that’s um unfortunately been you know it’s running my in my my girlfriend side family um but you know it’s it’s really you know pleasing that I I’ve you know put toward such an incredible amount of money that that would go to you know

Fantastic charity I want to go back to 2017 Luke um you experienced anxiety and panic attacks how hard was that for you and then to get through that and during Co you started a weight loss and you lost four stone yeah you know these These are was

It was a tough time for me it was something that you know I had to to work work my way out of um you know and obviously Co was was time was a hard time for everyone not just me um and I had to you know turn incredible negative

Into a positive for myself and that was when I decided you know to lose lots of weight change my image because uh you know it I couldn’t last the long days you know being overweight it just wasn’t working for me so I knew how to change something um you know after within three

Months I made my first major final um after losing all the weight and then you know it was the Catalyst of My Success you know it was an incredible turnaround and uh you know it’s allowed me to get to where I am today by you know that

That hard hard work that I did to lose all the weight and I’ve managed to maintain it which is also you know as a lot of people know is he’s even harder part no brilliant absolutely brilliant look um your opponent Luke ller um you know just incredible for someone his age

It really really is um Premier League uh uh the players come out later on today and everyone’s saying he’s got to be in it he’s got to be in it is there a problem that he may miss out look Luke litter is is an an an unbelievable T I don’t think we’ll ever

See someone as young as him in any spot doing you know the things he’s done um he’s got an incredibly mature head on a young shoulders yeah really do believe that you know he’s shown so much uh you know maturity in in all the media he’s

Done um I don’t know who’s in the Premier League I can’t tell you who’s in it um but you know if he is in it then uh it’s it’s amazing for him because you know this will change his life um and you know that’s down to him that’s up to

Him and his family whether it’s you know that they they choose to do it or not um I believe it’s probably for the good if he does because you know I think if you’re going to be overruled in anything you’d be overruled in a world final and

He showed last night that it didn’t overrall him I don’t think the Premier League would over um you know and like I said in in many previous interviews it’d be a privilege to know to share the stage a lot more because you know he’s a fantastic town I believe that be and you

Know he deserves to be in this premier league and great board management as well though wagas you know he calculates and and he’s always having a look at his opponent score right I don’t have to go for this I I’ll lay up just ready and give you know I’ve got time here you

Know he’s for someone at 16 that’s unbelievable it it is you know I remember when I was 16 and uh you know I wouldn’t have dreamed of of being in a world final let alone just being in the world championship so you know like I said he’s got a very mature head on

Young shoulders and he’s handled himself incredibly well with all the media attention uh he’s got massive bright future we all know that and uh you know he will be holding his trophy one day I can assure you of that that’s for sure Luke is obviously a Manchester United

To be world champion uh you know I I can’t let football get in the way of that because you know this is this is my dream and this is something that I have to be fully focused on regardless of who supports Su um but all I can say is I’m

Sure that the leads fans will obviously be very uh very happy with you know obviously beating a man united fan but uh you know I was there to do a job and to to realize my dream before worrying about you know who who I was

World Championships because uh if you’re going to support him for the worlds then you you know you need to keep supporting him you can’t just support him for one tournament I think it’s important that they all carry on supporting him uh throughout the rest of his career

Because uh you know you can’t just support him for the worlds and not afterward so to support and uh you know Luke had plenty of support as well and it’s really appreciated uh you know for me my it was it was incredible for you know
