Simon it’s all happening in the world of darts um because as we’ve seen there is a new kid on the Block literally 16-year-old Luke ller have you been watching some of it I have what do you make of this slide um I think he’s done remarkably well I think he attitude with

Media uh sorry his attitude with the fans when he’s under pressure when he’s trying to check out 170 and turning to the audience and asking them what they think he should do just shows you he’s in complete control of what he’s doing he’s demolishing people you know Raymond

Van vanov was in here before Christmas wasn’t he and obviously he’s lost lot weight and and and and and in a different lease of life but he was pretty much battered okay he hasn’t been in the greatest form and he didn’t expect much of himself in this tournament R but he wouldn’t have

Expected to have gotten batted by 16-year old sure who was apparently his hero the boy from Warrington has done very well and could do even better he’s in the semi-finals who’s to say doesn’t go the whole way uh this was Luke after his latest Victory it’s been crazy all

Over social media and even when I went to the Arsenal game and the Totten game people are just coming up to me yesterday I was in James Madison’s box like they’re waiting for Madison but as soon as I walked out they just swore me I was like James is in there waiting for

Him but yeah it’s it’s all it’s all gone crazy and I’m glad I’m known and people want to get pictures so where’s this going then Luke liter um 16 years of age and he’s now in the semi-finals of the biggest tournament in the darts world do

You think lots of kids watching this now Simon are thinking I want to be luke ller I want to grow up and be a darts player is that where we’re going with this um well I think it’s a great sport I think people say it’s not a sport but

I mean I did a podcast with James Wade who’s a great dance player and I I learned a lot from him about the sport I grew up loving the sport admiring Eric Bristo jocky Wilson Cliff lazareno there’s no kind of athletic press involved though no but there’s there’s

Still a requirement to have great concentration in the same way there’s great concentration in snooker there’s still a requirement to have great accuracy to be able to overcome pressure I mean it’s not the same physical attributes of course of tennis or cricket or rugby or football granted

Neither does it profess to be so and I would like to hear the protagonists not coming off the stage suggesting that they pre pre-match meal was a kebab but that’s a different discussion you see that’s darts so isn’t it it is darts and look at but look because it still

Holding unfashionable image it’s impossible to change but every sport the Sky Touch becomes skyfi look at what look at what they did to football without without without Sky whatever I think of it now you know influencers and 12-year-old opinions is a different discussion but the Genesis of football

In his country was absolutely skyi look at what they’ve done to Snooker look at what they’re doing to darts look at the look at the engagement look at the look at the level of interest that comes around yes once upon a time it was on terrestrial television and it would you

Know Eric Bristo and jockey Wilson and and John low and whoever else was in situ dominated ratings because of the nature of the terrestrial broadcasts being the only competitors around for broadcasting I think it’s a great sport I think it brings people you want to be a darts player he reliably informed you

The darts board in your bedroom I did I lived and breathed my darts during that period of time especially over New Year when you had the World Championships but I was a big fan of Eric Bristo I got to play a leg against Eric Bristo in Cen

Once I just think he had great personality and I loved watching the dance but this kid is 16 years of age he’s got the world at his feet I mean I saw Gary Anderson come out the other day and have a little pop at the media I make this point regularly about Young

Play Young participants in sports that are interesting to the media we saw it with the tennis player emanu and the decisions that she’s made that I don’t think have enhanced a career by outside interest you’ve got this kid now being focused on by the media so was ller

Wrong to be pictured with Madison um not necessarily as long as depends what kind of character the kid is he’s in the middle of a tournament and there’s a media interest he went to a football match and as a result of it people were interested in the fact that he went to a

Football match and took pictures of him so I don’t think it’s quite the same thing as commercially engaging himself with every single brand going to going to red red um uh Carpet Events and being being uh being the focus of attention for a social butterfly media mentality

Which will focus you in the wrong direction he’s 16 years of age Gary’s argument about the media is also flawed because without the media you guys would be be doing exhibitions for a couple of grand of course you’re playing tournaments now for 500 Grand you’re playing in the Premier League of darts

Where they’re paying lots and lots of money the interest levels through the ceiling because of the way the media have represented the sport so you you know you have to Dance with the Devil and you can’t just blame the media it’s a scorpion and a Frog story we know what

The media does so why don’t you get people around you to give you the right advice and he needs the right advice he’s 16 years of age his parents need to be involved need to say to him when to speak to the media and when not to the

Novelty wears off pretty quick if I G Anderson saying enjoy it because you you’ve earned this you’ve brought it upon yourself because of your own ability I don’t know what the Genesis of 16 he is yeah and it’s it’s it’s what does Gary Anderson expect the media to

Do sit back and watch a 16-year-old get to the semi-final stage who’s to say not this the final stage who said doesn’t win it and do nothing about it I suspect that there’s probably a greater responsibility on people like the PDC to step in and to say look we need to

Manage this kid he’s a prestigious talent and do what and to suggest there’s too much media being done or or or ultimately there’s a certain amount of how embracing it well look I don’t I don’t necessarily agree with all that Gary said I understand where he’s coming

From because I do think there are certain aspects of the way that the media hold on to things that they turn it into a circus but it’s also incumbent upon those around Luke to look after him to make sure that he’s in the right place at the right time of course he

Needs much looking after well he will do he absolutely will do Jim White and Simon Jordan Monday to Friday mornings from 10: on a.m. on da via the talk sport app and on your smart speaker talk sport

  1. Darts, to me, feels like the sport for the working class and is unapologetic about it. Its great fun to play and watch, with an affordable entry level for nearly everyone. It's non-woke nature is something that draws me (as many others) in time after time. I love the fact there's a drunken footy type crowd with chants, and love the fact there's cheerleader girls who aren't wearing much. Darts feels almost like a time machine back to the 80's-90's in the best possible way. I adore everything about the sport.

  2. The media will build him up and then do everything they can to bring about his downfall. Weโ€™ve seen it so many times before, mainly with young footballers

  3. Different times now. With media today. Worldwide this is lightning in a bottle getting released for the PDC buzz. It will be amazing for Darts. Itโ€™s hitting the Lottery for the PCD. Well done Luke. Stay Focused tell the pundits to piss off!

  4. Hes 16 ! Leave him alone, let him enjoy playing darts and enjoy being 16. I wouldn't let him anywhere near the media. Vultures especially these two ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฎ

  5. Luke Littler is really good for the game. Very entertaining and he seems like a nice kid.
Gary Anderson's heart is in the right place here but he has a tendency to moan a lot. ๐Ÿ˜
BTW, I think darts is a sport. Be brilliant in the Olympics !!!

  6. Anyone remember a 20 Year Old Kirk Shepherd …….it's a cautionary tale that your guaranteed nothing

  7. Jim just chats pure bs when it comes to anyone saying anything slightly negative towards the media. Heโ€™s a darts player let him play darts and stop demanding so much off the kid.

  8. Newton John playing sandy at 29yrs the Henry winkler player fonz at 27 yrs ,,,all playing school kids ,now a 48 yrs old playing a 16 school kid at darts ๐ŸŽฏ ๐Ÿ˜ฎwtf

  9. He littler is appearing everywhere…once the enormity of this dawns on him
If it does then he may starting
    Thinking…
He is 2 games away…rob cross may have something to say…all the big guns cross humphries williams wont win it.
If he beats rob cross i mean mauls him then whynot…
    Hasnt beaten cross yet

  10. Gary is 100% correct and I would add that at only 16 he probably needs to be mindful of his health especially weight.

  11. He has been very good so far but not played a proper player! Let's see what he does when cross is throwing it back at him, all of a sudden those 82 checkouts become alot harder!

  12. It's the media who put negativity into any sport and any event in everyday life. 24 carat caber throwers they are. Always waiting to rubbish anything positive.

  13. These two are the most pointless and hyperbolic commentators on sports ever. They remind me of how my female neighbours and relatives would gossip about school, other neighbours or relatives. Itโ€™s all just the worst.

  14. I searched Luke Littler's family tree the other day. He's not 16. He's a 45 year old black cab taxi driver from Peckham.

  15. Darts is quality i cant play it but love watching it , i love all sports aswell like football, boxing ,ufc, snooker ,i wish snooker had an event like pdc championship at ally pally would be quality in my opinion

  16. The way things are looking the kids going to storm the semis and the final the way he has in the previous rounds. Brilliant to see hope he does it. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅโญ๏ธ

  17. Turns out he celebrated with a kiss with his 21 year old girlfriend. Now if a 21 year old bloke was dating a 16 year old darts lass, the whole uk would be calling him a cradle snatcher at best, and the police would be getting involved.

  18. The Media are jumping on the train to build him up and sell the story. If he starts to falter in the coming years the media will destroy him to sell the story.

That is how disgusting the media are
