The Broncos Can’t Hurt Me Anymore! Chargers Fans are NUMB πŸ˜€

In Week 14 the Los Angeles Chargers vs Denver Broncos was a huge game for the AFC playoff picture and might as well have been a playoff game. The Chargers lost 24-7 and Justin Herbert got injured in that game. Easton Stick played fine in his place. Vance Joseph had some great blitzes and completely out coached Kellen Moore and Brandon Staley. Now in Week 17 the Broncos beat the Chargers without Justin Herbert or Brandon Staley but rather Easton Stick and Giff Smith. As a Chargers fan this is my reaction to the Broncos vs Chargers highlights, takeaways…

In the game preview I show Sean Payton’s offense with Russell Wilson, Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy against the Chargers defense with Brandon Staley. Ja’Quan McMillian, Patrick Surtain, Josey Jewell, Baron Browning, Kareem Jackson, Fabian Moreau, Justin Simmons, Jonathon Cooper, Nik Bonitto and this Broncos defense vs Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense will be a interesting matchup.

Brandon Staley might be able to take the Los Angeles Chargers to the playoffs after beating the New England Patriots… but will he?

The Los Angeles Chargers beat the New England Patriots in Foxborough in Week 13 of the 2023 NFL Season. Bailey Zappe couldn’t throw the ball against Deane Leonard, Derwin James, Asante Samuel Jr., Khalil Mack, and Tuli Tuipulotu. Bill Belichick might be the Chargers head coach next year if Brandon Staley and Tom Telesco get fired (plz dean spanos). Rhamondre Stevenson, Ezekiel Elliott, Tyquan Thornton, Ty Montgomery, Devante Parker, and Hunter Henry were not enough on the Patriots offense to win the game but Keenan Allen, Quentin Johnston, Gerald Everett, and Austin Ekeler were just enough for Justin Herbert to get two field goals and win this game. Shout out to J.K. Scott and Derius Davis on Special Teams and Ryan Ficken the ST Coach for the Chargers. BREAKING NEWS they are good…

The Chargers lost to the Broncos for the second time this season and as a Chargers fan bro I am happy with that because it improves our draft position and it would have even improved our draft position more had the Giants actually beaten the Rams today and Tyrod Taylor bro the former Chargers

Quarterback he was the Giants quarterback he almost mounted that comeback against the Rams hey man he’s still trying to help the Chargers out he’s a real one for that but we’re not talking about the Giants we’re not talking about Tyrod Taylor we’re here to talk about the Chargers and the Broncos

And everything that happened today so make sure to like And subscribe if you do enjoy this content bro it helps me out so much and now let me talk about this offense so without Keenan Allen without Josh Palmer Zion Johnson Donald Parham and obviously Justin Herbert the

Chargers offense was just a shell of itself man but I was really impressed with Jordan mcfaden stepping up in the place of Zion Johnson in his very first play he got a pancake and he continued to play well throughout the entire game and honestly he played just as well as

Zion Johnson would have and maybe even a little bit better because he didn’t let up any pressures or a sack from a stunt move just like Zion has been you know susceptible to this entire season those stunt move blitzes he always lets those up and we might actually have a good

Problem starting in this interior of this offensive line if mcfaden continues to impress on the field and Zion Johnson can’t get out on the field because of an injury because then we have three guards that I would like to see playing time from Jordan mcfaden Zion Johnson yes I

Still want to see him being on the field and then also Jamari sawer the Right Guard and then if that’s the case we got those three guys we want to see on the field then maybe is it possible that one of them can snap the ball and then we

Have one of them play center I don’t know bro hey I know that Tom Tesco loves versatile offensive lineman so we have a a lot of versatile guys on our team is it possible that one of them gets a try at Center for next season I don’t know

But I do want to see all three of those guys in some sort of playing time now I want to talk about Alex Erikson because he is the eastn sticks go-to guy and I kind of hate it I mean don’t get me wrong Alex Erikson is playing well and

It seems like he’s taking advantage of every opportunity that he has given whether it’s Justin Herbert or Easton stick throwing him the ball I just wish that the targets would go to Quinton Johnson or even like Darius Davis man the two guys who are younger more

Athletic and have a future on this team rather than the veteran wide receiver that we signed in the middle of the season it’s just frustrating because I want them to get more targets but they’re just not getting open and Alex Erikson is he’s just outplaying both of

Them right now so it’s tough to argue that you should throw to Quinton Johnston over Alex Erikson which if if you told me that I would be saying that when we drafted Quinton Johnson I would be calling you crazy right now but that that’s just that’s the position that

We’re in a wide receiver that we signed midseason is outplaying our first round freak wide receiver and that is why Alex aricon is getting more targets and Gerald Everett too man Gerald Everett has earned all the targets that he’s been getting because of what we see when he’s getting the ball he’s constantly

Getting yards after the catch he’s constantly catching the ball when he’s t targeted and he’s getting yards I mean Quinton Johnson hasn’t been able to catch the ball and he’s not been getting a lot of yak Darius Davis too he’s not really been blocking when he is a wide

Receiver out there and when he does get the ball he makes guys miss sometimes and other times he just gets tackled at the line of scrimmage now the offensive line I thought played pretty well and protected East stick for the majority of this game I wish that they could have

Been able to play like that when Justin Herbert was the quarterback because then he would not be on IR for the rest of the season and he wouldn’t have been playing injured all year but at least we see the potential of this offensive line heading into next season last week Trey

Trey pipkins did not allow a single pressure against the bills and in this game he looked good along with Jordan mcfaden who I already talked about who got his first start of his career and ran Slater was really the only one who kind of struggled today because he had

Two holding calls on him but still lots of positive takeaways for this offensive line and the Broncos weren’t calling a bunch of crazy blitzes and disguises like they were the last time that we played them but it is good to see this offensive line play well under any circumstance especially

Against the Broncos front seven which is they’re pretty good now we’re going to talk about East siik because he kind of looked uncomfortable just about all night even though he was getting protected pretty well like I was just saying uh he was constantly missing missing guys like really high and

Outside early on in the first half and there were some throws in there where the ball was just like so of Target that he might as well have just thrown the ball away or or just like throw it into the stand so that a fan can catch it and

Take it home so he can ring in the new year with a good game ball the only guy that he could throw to was like Alex Ericson but he still missed him sometimes and he also didn’t look comfortable in the pocket at all even when the Broncos were just rushing three

And the offensive line was holding up pretty well his running ability though that was fun to watch and he was able to have some nice plays with those QB draws he’s a little Shifty man he had that one spin move I know you remember that spin

Move that was a nice move he used his legs well but watching Easton stick it just really should make you appreciate how good Justin Herbert is because there was a huge drop off in our ability to pass the ball because the Broncos were really doing nothing fancy with their

Blitzes or coverages all game and he still could not get anything going for this entire game against a pretty vanilla defense in terms of play call now on the defense side of things Derwin James actually played pretty well today I think that’s the first time that we

Can say that all season he had a pass breakup against Jerry Judy on that first drive and he looked fast and physical all day today he was coming downfield fast and with a Vengeance and purpose that is the Derwin James that we love to see as Chargers fans and I think he

Looked that way today because he was playing more of that traditional safety position rather than playing closer to the line of scrimmage and playing nickel when you have him play farther from the line of scrimmage you do you you do lose his impact on some plays but he creates

So much more of an impact on the plays that he is involved in because his strength is coming downfield fast and hitting hard to break up a pass or force a turnover it felt like all year Darwin James was struggling and it was good to see him play better before the season

Ended but at least now we know Brandon Staley is gone and Derwin James he is immediately playing more like he used to which is an allpro freak safety there was one play where javante Williams just stiff armed him hard into the ground and then another play where he had an

Interception just go right through his hands so it’s not like he had an amazing game he also had a sack that he just kind of cleaned up it was like a cleanup sack it was really Morgan Fox who disrupted that play but this was definitely better than what he has shown

This season and with him having a 20 million cap hit next season if he doesn’t get back to his normal self he might be a cap casualty and then next year maybe his last season as a charger especially considering that we’re going to have a total new regime and with with

A lot of tough decisions to make I mean he may even be traded if he plays a little bit better but not good enough there’s a lot of options on the table for his future but today he was better and that is a step in the right direction no matter what his future

Holds and bro K Ma I say it every freaking time that dude is so good he is one of the best Edge rushers in the NFL and today against Jared stum he got his 100th career sack in his 16th of the Season by just forklifting at Broncos

Offensive lineman it was the left guard straight into Jared stm’s face and that boy was falling back he fell on his butt he he didn’t even touch the quarterback and he got the sack because of his old man strength pushing the left guard into the QB’s face you love to see that and

Khil continues to play well even when the Chargers are long out of the playoff race and there is nothing for him to prove as an aging veteran making a ton of money it is so admirable that he sustains this high level of play even when the charges are so bad and he could

Easily check it in for the season and say better luck next year but he was well worth that trade man because what I don’t know I don’t remember what we gave up for him like a second round pick and something else but also Tuli Tui Pou continues to play well even

Though he has slowed down a little bit as the season has gone on he’s a rookie and he was setting the edge well just like he has done all season wasn’t really rushing the passer that well in this game though uh one of the highest value positions is The Edge position and

Tuli Tui PLU playing this well as a rookie I mean he is on Pace to be an extremely valuable piece for the Chargers over the next like decade which is exactly what we need right now and it looks like this roster is set to go under a lot of change over these next

Two years and then speaking of the next two years why did we start and play Nick nean more snaps than Deon Henley we drafted Deon Henley in the third round of this year’s draft why do you not get him as much playing time as you possibly can in a meaningless game rather than

Start your special teams contributor linebacker who is a veteran and has been on this team for a couple years I mean there’s no future in Nick Neeman at linebacker for this team Deon Henley has a legitimate shot to be a like five or sixe starter in the linebacker position

For this team so why do you not get him as many snaps as possible play all of these young guys as much as you can get them used to that NFL speed especially with these last two games because these are free games this is free XP for them

Just like in Madden 24 you’re getting free XP bro you need to utilize it and get these guys on the field I I I I just really don’t understand Deon Henley not getting every single snap on defense in this game and then the secondary uh I

Was kind of avoiding this but dude they just they all suck I’m sorry none of them played well other than Derwin James and I don’t want to really rag on them too hard because this is still basically Brandon Staley’s defense but now without Brandon Staley so you take an extremely

Complicated scheme and then you lose the guy who created it and helped put you into position and try to make it less complicated for you I mean these guys are set up to fail right now Lil Jordan Humphrey which is probably the best name in the NFL Lil Jordan he made everyone

Look absolutely Goofy on the field with his 54 yard touchdown where he made essang Bassie alohi Gilman aant Samuel Jr and Michael Davis all miss and then some of those guys even missed two times bro they were not good in cover or tackling and it was just terrible so

What else do you want me to say man I mean again it’s they’re really in a tough spot right now because of how Brandon Staley has made this defense but you’d like to see some better tackling at least and heading into the draft I I do think that quarterback is probably

Their number one need right now will they draft a quarterback in the first round depends on where they’re picking but uh I don’t know I think at this moment right now it’s more likely they take a wide receiver somebody like Malik neighbors if he is available and I did a

Film breakdown on him which you can see right here thanks for watching

  1. I'm feeling good after that loss!

I hope you guys are fine with losing for better draft position because I AM haha. I know it can be controversial for some fans but I'm good with it! πŸ™βš‘πŸ†™

  2. Not a fan of losing to a division rival, especially Denver, but winning is pointless. Let's get the best shot in the draft. No way to get Marvin but I'd like Bowers or Nabers.

  3. Be honest…was I the ONLY sumbitch that said, "watch, the Chargers will eff this up and win."? I'll admit it and I'll admit to rooting for the Broncos.

  4. Lombardi was the scapegoat card that Staley played to earn himself another year as HC but Kellen Moore has flat out failed this year as the OC. Giving Staley the benefit of the doubt after the Jax loss has totally decimated this team. It's a complete disaster. I don't see any foundation to build upon. A QB like Herbert is not a foundation. You can't expect these O linemen to get significantly better. The running game needs to be completely rebuilt. I wouldn't keep any of our backs. How hard is it to find a guy that can run the ball? Ekeler's fumble today makes you wonder if any team will sign him next year. To add insult to injury, when you look at how well many of the backup QBs in the NFL have played this year, Easton Stick is simply not a viable #2. He is woefully inaccurate and doesn't get the ball out. Another hole in the bucket. The goal for next week is to deliver a Week 18 season ending injury to Mahomes and/or Kelce because at this stage I'm backing anyone playing the Chiefs.

  5. At least the raiders and broncos are eliminated from the playoffs. If we couldn't make it, I'm glad they didn't either. 😀

  6. QJ needs to put on some weight & get a bit more physical. Dude looks scared to be out there sometimes.
