[Applause] this week I take the van on a day out in the shopshire Fells to visit what seems to be a very quiet Golf Club but one that I wanted a visit for quite some time this channel will be very different in 2024 and in today’s episode it gives me a chance to Explain That was an interesting drive up to what uh is possibly an interesting Golf Course hopefully get some filming done very very shortly if this rain holds a little I’m at a place called Church threaten golf club and and uh filming aside of a really important conversation

That I need to have with you in today’s Video when you play a new golf course you might adopt a more studied approach on the first te a fear of the unexpected provides an element of excitement stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to New Challenges which might reignite your passion and that’s pretty much what happened with this YouTube

Channel I take tough opening all and uh yeah warms you off walking up that hill as well Came up really short on both those t-shots there’s no doubt that changing my channel in the last few weeks is the best thing I’ve done as uh since I’ve become a YouTuber um stopping chasing the views and concentrating on what I like doing has made a huge difference

But the biggest change for me is that I seem to have my relationship back with you the viewers which is the key part for Me you see for some reason I had stopped communicating with you all and I found it hard to stop the spiral I need to talk to my viewers and I want you all to be involved in how we shape this channel the comment section is back live

And kicking and I can’t tell you how much that means you might think that your commenting has little impact or I don’t read them and I can assure you that isn’t the case it has a huge effect on me and my motivation but there is one thing that

Needs to happen if I’m going to continue producing this style of content and it’ll be a big change to the channel and it might cause some Upset so now it’s back to loving creating content cinematography is high on the agenda again and uh everything’s going good the conversation is back up and running in terms of that comment section but there is like I said something really important that I need to discuss with you in today’s

Video Church Straton golf club is a very unique landscape for a golf course and most certainly off the Beaten Track the round begins with three par 3s which is quirky in itself but when you reach the 4th T the real beauty of of church threaten unveils

Itself I should also note that the green feet was just 20 I’ve not really seen much of any of the flags on the first three this one’s no different hidden way around the to the right just going to try and it a soft coat doesn’t CA is to bounce then that might be short Again you know there’s a bit of a hike to some of these tea boxes but it’s uh think I’ve seen such breathtaking views on a golf club uh and a totally different landscape than I’m used to admiring to be honest with You Come on be right oh my God it’s miles Away I think one of the toughest walks I’ve ever had on a golf course it is hard everything is uh really severe and Steep and with the wind as well which is picked up in the last sort of half an hour I don’t know H how high we are but

On my word having said that that view is uh incredible and they’re pretty much 360 as well depending on which way the sun is facing so yeah big big views but you have to work hard to get Them and today wasn’t my finest performance but a typical day where I allow the views the colors the wildlife and the backdrops to compensate for my Shortcomings Right before we go any further it’s time for photo of the week but this week it is a little bit different because behind the camera is Hannah so in the comment section below it’s either Andy or Hannah photo of the week and don’t go anywhere after that because we got a challenge

Coming up on the 18th hole and trust me it’s well worth hanging around for it’s a real interesting golf hole right see if we get one away on 16 Right before we go to the challenge and before we go any further I’ve suggested about the idea of selling out and it’s a phrase that I’m not particularly keen on cuz it’s often used in the wrong context in the sense that anyone gets any support from any brand in our genre

Being golf they seem to get a bit of stick for it the fact is if I’m going to continue to produce this kind of travel content I’m going to need some help and for that I’m going to be selling out to a degree and what that means is I’m

Going to be contacting a number of Brands and seeing if they will support the travel content and uh allow us to continue and grow that on the hope that we get to a stage where we get enough fuse that won’t need to rely on the support of Brands cuz obviously it’s not

Ideal but right now it’s something I am really dependent on on and you’ve got to understand this from a financial perspective I produce now 60% less videos what that means is I get 60% less income and any kind of business person would tell you that’s not good reading

So it’s a huge blow to us financially but I’m determined to go down this route and because of that I am going to need to sell out in some way Right so Challenge on the last hole is 185 from a very elevated position I’ve seen this we were clamoring our way of the first and thought we’ll we’ll hang around for that one I’ve not played that well today and I need a decent shot um don’t go anywhere a little bit more to

Talk to you about in terms of that selenite out idea Um now at this point my audio decided it didn’t want to carry on any any longer but for the record I hit a 7 iron which landed on the back of the green and a two put would provide a nice finish to the day now as for selling out my quest is

Now to persuade Brands to support this Channel and hopefully you get to watch what you are clearly enjoying and I continue to create it and in the meantime we keep on talking and I keep on listening and together I hope we can build a channel

That we can all be proud of see you next Week

  1. Great stuff Andy I love the new video content the course looks stunning. Yours and Hannah’s cinematography is first class. As for selling out I don’t know how you would continue without having some support. Most successful channels have some support. Hannah B by the way

  2. Again, Andy, amazing video and content. You seem to need sponsorship support and I feel that is absolutely what you should seek out. In fact, I doubt you'll have any problem finding more than enough interest from potential sponsors, particularly with such amazing cinematography. Question: How do you happen to play so many rounds solo? I love the solitude of playing solo but that is a very rare occurrence. All the best from North Carolina, U.S. 🤟

  3. I think you are on the right track. Your channel is great to watch and you make the viewing interesting. I'm sure that you will get the sponsorship required. I think its a great channel to watch and you make it worthwhile. Please keep up the good work. Happy new year!!!!!

  4. Andy, selling out is getting any random sponsorship that has little to do with your channel and selling the product like it's the best thing you've ever tried. I'm sure watching your videos since you've had your epiphany that this is the last thing you want to do and the sponsors you're approaching are ones that compliment your new approach.

  5. What great views. May pay a visit there. Hopefully you get the sponsorship you need as you produce the best golf content on You Tube without question.
On another note what was the jacket you were wearing?

  6. Absolutely breathtaking! I’m totally enjoying the direct your going and don’t believe your selling out. Another video I totally enjoyed. Keep up the good work

  7. You do you Andy, I love this content and hope you find a sponsor or two that can support you, your family the journey. All the best mate and here if you ever need a hacker to join you although I appreciate that’s not your thing 😂 take care

  8. Beautiful! Perhaps the most beautiful YouTube golf video I have ever seen. The camerawork is fantastic and the shots with the fences in the foreground and everything else in the background gave the viewer the feeling of being right there with you. The “squish, squish of your footsteps through the soggy ground also gave me the sensation of being there with you. The raindrops on the wire fence early in the video foreshadowed the attention to detail that would be coming throughout the video. The choice of music was spot on for setting the mood. The course itself seemed to be interesting and the views were otherworldly and magnificent. I watched this twice, and will watch it again in the future. It reminds me of the beauty and wonder of golf, and to everyday life itself. Thank you Andy and Hannah. You are video artists of the highest order.

  9. Hello Andy,
I'm a fairly new subscriber to your channel. I first came across your videos when you did a review of the PXG clubs I had just purchased. I've watched a few more videos, hit and miss, depending on the subject matter but I'm really enjoying your new format.
"Off The Beaten Track" has become a must watch for me with each new episode.
Also, picking a best pic is like picking a favorite child for me.

  10. Maybe you could give a little more detail on the golf courses? You said the name so fast I couldn’t understand where you were playing. I had to rewind and freeze the name Church Streeton on the side of the building. Where it’s located in the UK etc in case some of us would like to play it as a hidden gem. I like the direction you’re going in but in my opinion lacks just a few little pertinent details. It kind of just looks like a guy playing a few holes walking around. I do like your YouTube channel over the years, you’re a good guy to follow, not sure I’m into the new concept? But I hope you succeed….

  11. Hannah B for the photo. It isn't selling out, why should it be? Any company sponsoring you will see the benefit through the wonderfully shot vlogs, if it means you subtly showcasing product, it will be done without viewer noticing I reckon. Please keep up the new format, YouTube is on the slippery slope and won't last the way it's going. Too many channels the same, tips being regurgitated by the coach only channels, mass corporate money channels like Mr Shiels, no heart anymore. There has to be something different for YouTube golf to last in its current format in my opinion. I love seeing new courses to me being highlighted where it's the course that matters, your new format highlights that perfectly. This course is so atmospheric, I would definitely check it out if I was on my travels. Also, I love the one man pursuing his passion idea. So many times, I won't play if I haven't got a partner, no more in 24, I am going to play alone and try as many different courses as I can, so Bravo Andy for keeping it real. I watch 3 channels now, yours, Tubes and Ange which is quirky and brilliant highlighting friendship, banter and a great format and lastly Big Oggie. yes he's a friend, he isn't the best player in the world, but he has the biggest heart and doesn't get the viewers he deserves. Too many snobs out there who think only golf that matters is scratch. Keep up the great content mate

  12. I'm loving the new content Andy. I started watching the channel with the Scotland series and this is even better. To be honest, I have a set of clubs and don't intend on changing them, so the club reviews don't do it for me.

  13. Andy d breathtaking. Love the content as your videos and photos bring me to places that I wish I could one day visit. Keep up the dream making and hope you have a fabulous new year!

  14. You film and play golf in a way that makes you happy and brings you joy. You’ve got a unique talent to show us your experiences in cinematic beauty. If a sponsor supports this, fantastic. If not, they can move on. Don’t change!

  15. "Selling out has a way too negative touch". You are looking for sponsors.Completley normal and understandable in my book. Go for it..
    PS:Hannah B

  16. Andy, been a member for a while and as commented on you content is superb, I live abroad and the visits you have to the smaller venues does make me homesick until I see the weather. It’s not a sellout in my opinion if you can continue to submit such great content, reading the comments should convince you to continue on your travels, and I wait with anticipation on your journey of discovery in 2024. Onwards and upwards, great cinematic content, some of the best on YouTube in my humble opinion.

  17. It’s not selling out. Many big golf YouTubers are sponsored. Hannah a.

    Thanks for what you’re doing.
