Acho is missing the point.
It's not about how big the paycheck is, it's about how big the mouth is. Russ talked himself up with all this MVP stuff and "let russ cook" and basically saying he was elite. So the broncos expect that, not because they paid him that way, but because that was what he said. He hasn't measured up to what he said, so he's not taking too much heat.
Russ has no vision and is one dimensional. He is getting out played by backup QBs.

Russ has definitely gotten too much blame from the media and fans, but I don’t think him getting benched is about “blame”, it’s about his contract.
The reason the Seahawks could give Russ an all time defense while Denver couldn’t was money and draft capital, two things the broncos haven’t had because of Russ. He’s absolutely playing at a starting nfl caliber level, but there’s more factors than your level of play that determines whether or not a team will hold on to you.

Now when we're talking about how much Russell got paid I would assume he's not getting paid this to have the best numbers he's getting paid this to win games. To put the Broncos in the best position. When he got that contract Sean Payton was not there. I even believe that Russell endorsed having Sean Payton. He tried to contact Sean Payton before the season even started so he could learn offense nuances that he never learned with pete carroll. But sean always wanted him to get over himself n special treatment. And Sean did not believe in Russell so when people talk about what Russell didn't do pre-snap or how he didn't hit the middle of the field. Remember Sean made this a running team. He didn't emphasize these things to russ as much as he wanted him to protect the football. And in your first year that's a lot of information to learn. Russ didn't have a tight end that was going to get separation in the middle of the field . Sean Payton got rid of Albert o who would have been a receiving te. Because he didn't feel Russell was good at that from the beginning of the season. He went and got Adam Troutman and turn this team into a running team. So when y'all say he dumb down the playbook these nuances Russell's should have learned early on Sean Payton was not eager to teach him. He got a left guard from the Ravens and a right tackle from the 49 ers which are running teams. He put the emphasis on running the ball and we don't have any rushing touchdowns. Of course Russell numbers are not going to reflect a 50 million contract. How many attempts do you think he got at the middle of the field compared to a joe burrow or a mahomes or a tall qb. Within the play calling you saw Sean calling a lot of the same run plays because he never really trust russ. So how was Russell going to give you the numbers or the success you would want from someone who had weapons in the pass game. Jerry jeudy was even saying that Sean was not making a concerted effort to get him the ball. And if after the Chiefs game Sean Payton comes to russ and gives him ultimatums how is that not going to affect his play. Russell still had decent numbers with no burner downfield. It's a little unrealistic but casual fans will never understand that. She said the contract come with expectations but if your coach don't believe in you and you're not practicing the right kind of stuff downfield you're going to rely on what u know . We want to give Sean Payton the benefit of the doubt but not Russ what you don't know you dont know

All those QBs could have 7 or more wins if they stayed healthy.
When Acho is saying Rus's stats are comparable to his Super Bowl year that's not a good thing in my opinion and I would also say they didn't sign him to get 2013 Rus because that wasn't even his peak/best year. I think it is more accurate to compare 2023 Rus to 2021 Rus since it's more recent you can get a better read of the situation and see where Rus truly is in his career. And I would say they signed him to get 2017-2020 Rus. As far as the blame goes I think he is getting too much but that's kind of the nature of the position and I also agree with James, I don 't think Sean wants Rus on the team anymore.
Last year sealed Russ's fate…too cringworthy and self involved, speaking of himself in the 3rd person etc. The Organization is ultimately responsible for the debacle and are using Russ as the scapegoat. 😮

In answer to the question, "is Russell talking to much heat?" I say, absolutely not! Listen, there is more than one receiver on this team. Time and time again, Russ failed to hit the open receiver. Also, he's very slow to get the ball out of his hands, he just, constantly, held the ball to long.
Yeah, he played decent ball, but he was afraid to take a hit, and looked like a kid running from a bunch bullies in the playground.
Sean Payton could not execute his game plans, due to Russ' inability to get the ball out of his hands.
George Paton made a very very bad deal, and I think hes on his way out, as well.
