Hello Walter, nice to see you here today. We at Röhrle Mobility GmbH would like to Today we would like to introduce you to the very special Roadster behind us. I don’t think anyone could present the vehicle better than you. I’ll just say this much. It’s a Roadster, for which you were the namesake.

And I’m not giving anything away just yet so much about the vehicle and would like to let you have the floor. And maybe you can tell us something about the origin of the Roadster. Yes, it really is a very special vehicle. The whole story is also almost unbelievable.

It was an Austrian flight engineer who had something to do with airplanes, has imagined that he is doing something very special. A 356 Roadster that maybe once had 90 hp, he really wanted a turbo engine and started to build the car in Australia. This is of course a huge effort.

The body was connected to a floor assembly from a turbo. Of course, this has to be done for longer, it has to be made wider, fender flares have to be added But as I said, it was of course a life’s work. And then he reached the age when he retired.

Then he packed all the garbage into two containers, sent them from Australia to Vienna, because he was Austrian then bought a small old house in Austria without a garage. So he said: How do I put a roof over this car now? Then he broke open the wall of the house,

So he brought the bodywork into the living room. bricked up again and then screwed around again for a while with the car until he sadly passed away. And the heirs were of course: what are we going to do with all this rubbish now? Everything out of the house again, container

You can actually see it quite clearly at the rear, how wide it is. All correct! I’m guessing there’s a 930 Turbo there engine – and also the track width so that you can fit wide enough tires, because with the power, it’s perfectly clear that everything has been rebuilt.

So the chassis is also practical. From the turbo, the floor assembly and only the bodywork was and that is of course a job, because nothing is right anymore. If the car is wider, then the doors must have a different design. the car here, for example, is longer.

The hood already comes on in the normal version. So it’s unbelievable that this is even possible. If you think about other conversions If you think about it, you can always tell straight away that it’s a conversion. I think the vehicle has been worked on in such detail.   4. Ich habe die Porsche-Storry schon lange mit großem Interesse verfolgt, und besonders die des 356er Modells, beginnend in der Gmünder Manufaktur.
    Die schlichte Eleganz dieser Bauform findet in diesem in jeder Beziehung dezenten, aber potenten Roadster tatsächlich einen krönenden Abschluss.
    Walter Röhl ist natürlich eine, wenn nicht die Rennfahrer-Legende, deren fahrerische Leistungen man wohl erst dann halbwegs nachvollziehen kann, wenn man selbst eine Zeit lang mit einem Fahrzeug wie mit einem eigenen Körperteil fest verbunden "auf Messers Schneide" unterwegs war und die nötige Konzentration für Angstgefühle keine Zeit ließ.
    Wenn ich den Bericht und die Geschichte dieses Autos sehe und dann daran denken muss, was ich mit dem Kfz-Handwerk dieses Landes immer wieder erlebe, von dem ich über 30 Jahre lang mit großer Dreistigkeit fast nur belogen und betrogen wurde, sobald ich eines meiner Fahrzeuge einer Werkstatt zu Wartungs- oder Instandsetzungsarbeiten überließ, glaube ich, dass wir in Parallelwelten leben müssen.
