GX GLOVES – PREMIUM CABRETTA LEATHER GLOVES
https://www.gxgolfgloves.com/

So what we’ll do first I’ll have a little run through specs yes has got some experience to isn’t it it’s time to go um so yeah so I was fit at tight list in St Ives um about five years ago yeah 23 handicap I want to say um back then I was playing

On a long course I say long Langley Park in London okay fairly long tight sort of par4 um I’ve now moved to shoters Hill which is a shorter course where driving distance doesn’t really give you anything but danger as you say shorter and Tighter yeah so I’ve gone from sort of driving

All of the time m to using it three or four times around and just consistency gone um belief’s gone and know I can hit it but it’s just not very frequent um I practice three times a week now yeah um on track man um so I’m starting to see

What I’m doing wrong um club path inside a lot um but working on that with a coach just to try and straighten it out um but it’s always face open and heal that’s just uh what I just consistent through all of the sessions it’s face open in the heill

Um inside I’m starting to get it more neutral and sometimes a little negative which is I guess I don’t really want to see negative but it shows I’m I’m moving in the right right direction from being positive so has that been more specifically with driver that inside path open face your drivers specifically

Most irons are are pretty consistent so I think for me I’m 3ft to te three or four times around two or three maybe four times around it yeah um and it’s my iron shots are just what’s sort of saving me iron putting around the green so really it’s just confidence off the

Tea with a driver which is really hurting me yeah and this the problem is you kind of it’s um if you’re not in player with you’re constantly battling kind of behind the eight ball trying to catch up aren you so it’s a different game when you’re uh in a m

Fairway or or even in the light rough but when you’re uh fighting trees yeah um there’s no uh there’s no easy recovery there is there I mean the good good side is that um there is something fairly stand out in terms of Drive spec so swing Weight Wise even you taking

That um the Aros out um swing weight is pretty heavy so it’s not long long it’s kind of a on the longer side of stand that tit is do 45 and a quarter but it’s up almost D7 swing we which is pretty darn heavy so if you’ve got a tendency

For it to drop inside anyway then a heavy bottom end is going to do that even more hence the face staying a little bit open and it does have though it is weighted um I think it’s plus plus two or plus four when I got fit originally yeah in the

Head um so it’s definitely got a heavier weight in the head as well at least it’s meant to be heavier it’ll be but at is I mean a d D7 of these really heavy so and the problem with that is it’s then just prohibitive from a swinging point of

View there’s just especially taking into account where interest to see where this is you your Fairway woulds pretty much on standard length D1 and a half so pretty neutral um same family of sh just slightly heavier weights there’s nothing kind of out of sync from a setup point of view there

Okay and um yeah so six obiously haven’t done the whole set but 6r y a KBS tour uh shaft 120 so not light but it’s not a tip bar shaft and that’s C8 and a half okay so assuming the rest of M I swing weight them but just to make sure that’s not

Just a one off but the rest of the arms track off that then there’s nothing else in the rest of the bag that’s tip heavy okay so the driver kind of stands up th from a setup point of VI so we’ll see how that tracks but yeah

Cuz you’re with the um yes so five ones the same so with those you’re not having to put much effort in to get the toe through with anything else in the bag three would a little bit more than the arms but there that’s relatively light

Swing weight on the IRS okay um but then that’s just going to you I D7 would be heavy anyway even if they were a neutral swing weight the arms are a little on the Lighter Side um so if they were d0 D1 D7 still could have and it makes sense because 13 G

Heavier in the head I just feel like I have to do so much now to protect from going right and then obviously you overdo it yeah and you go left yeah um and it’s just it’s that’s where I just get so sort of Lost in yeah in the good

News is there is definitely there’s definitely something that is very very doable yeah um because um it’s uh like multitask um you say it’s quite exaggeratedly head heavy compared to the others so you know there’s a very distinct different even into the three AR R it’s a different set of components uh into

The has the smoke has the smoke at 90 G not light but it’s not tip heavy yeah so there’s an awful lot of continuity through the rest of the set but not the driver and then the driver so slightly stronger balance in the head than the

Irons but only to the point that it’s a fairly neutral setup so um yeah okay I I mean it felt wrong but you just don’t know because I was like is it is it just my swing do I just need to keep working at it but then I was watching some of

Your videos and you where you’re talking about the shafts and the heads it’s like no I think I do need to just see where it is and uh come in you so really something really quite pointed as well so um yeah it’s good it’s not just in my

Head it’s not you so I’ll just run through the rest of these if you want to grab any club you like and have a have a loosen up I’ve got seven here on what you I take the seven go and because it’s the longer the driver longest Club in the bag that that

Bottom end waiting is kind of exaggerated because that’s the one you’re getting the most momentum build up the strongest energy transfer anything in particular from a swing point of view that you’re working on really it’s just path and face to path um because I know I get tend to get

Really stuck and it I can get like 8 n degre inside okay um and yeah I’m just trying to get it as neutral as I can um without overdoing it natur right-handed uh yes any other sports in particularly you’ve done a lot of no not really it’s just

Been Last 5 Years just been golf it’s one of those things the it’s a Time heavy sport so you’re mixing it with other ones is quite tough yeah and they just I quite like not having to [Laughter] run a little B any injuries at all um a niggly

Shoulder from poor posture but right left but um it doesn’t really affect golf yeah cuz it tends there’s a littleit if it was the outside you might get a bit of a stretch in the back swing but yeah yeah and it doesn’t seem to affect golf it’s more just I know when I

Sleep in it funny it hurts but yeah I feel fine on the golf course got it right come on what got you into golf originally my friend has a villa in marbay well in marbay Mias and it looks onto a golf course and I was just like wow it looks

Really fun so we we went to the local range in miass yeah came back um bought a set of golf clubs on eBay and haven’t looked back years of frustration later right there we go yeah paths all pretty neutral only point two so yeah certainly the the Fe you’re working on not getting

Anywhere near too too much from the inside yeah I know I know I do some have a tendency with face but yeah I I’ve been working on just trying to keep it neutral as I can yeah it’s really where you where you’ve been able to practice with one of these

Machines they really kind of dialing in on just particular Keys you can focus in on them that’s something what I found over the years having being able to kind of say right that’s a number I want to get between you these two and uh sometimes ball flight can give you a

Slightly different impression what’s going on based on healer or tow Striker a bit of gearing yeah and I know even with my IR I’m still seeing Hill strike so another another point is just really try to zero in on middle and uh or or even the toe

I’m trying to feel more how do I get to the toe um yeah path path lines that really nice very slight fade move terrible strike but yeah so through the irons they’re all all very very consistent in terms of that swinger around the C8 and a half

Mark yeah uh and wedges because they got the heavier shaft and little but very very neutral kind of ver standard um so yeah the driver in the whole set is pretty standard okay it feel it does feel stand up so swingers have as many lucs as you

Need cold morning what what ball do you play um Prov one yeah well I prefer a Prov one but I’ve started on the Prov 1X because scoring better okay don’t know why I don’t like I don’t I prefer the softer F of the prov1 but yeah I’ve just

Yeah okay bizarre so I’ve got prov1 X’s at the moment yeah is there anything that you found anything it’s just not being lost so yeah that’s the only I don’t particularly I prefer the Prov one yeah and cuz I know I can hit a really

High ball and so I prefer to Pro one but yeah it’s just I’m not losing the X as much so I’ve decided to just stick with it yeah what uh what size glove do you wear medium medium medium I’ve got medium siiz hands but quite long

Fingers so it’s really tough let me grab to find a glove yeah so one of the things we’re doing each video is giving we see see how that one fits we give everyone one of these GX glubs perect so um basically they’re made in Indonesia made from coreta

Leather um with partnering up with on this he’s um he’s soured all the materials basically took them a fo Joy pure touch glov template um and said kind of can you make one of these and how much is it going to be and so because there’s a lot of middleman cut

Out um see because of a finger length it might be yeah it’s it’s fine I think it’s uh um cu the finger length being longer that’s where the medium large might be more appropriate so um really really good quality leather actually that that pouch that um but um since we

Were giving everyone one the fitting but they do a set up where cost wise are slightly different to where your normal premium leather glove would be um so they’re 9 10 pound of glove oh good cuz I so I’m usually I usually do play The titless Players um obviously it’s winter

And it rains a lot so it’s a foot Joy weather soft for winter but no yeah yeah so in it’s a very very similar leather to those yeah it feels feels nice but not at a 25 price yeah okay so yeah one for everyone in the fit perfect I think one

More and I think I’m ready schools you know primary schools yeah it’s those ones have been with the prob1 and being a 79 actually spin wise if you take the previous swing that was very very neutral yeah little on the lower side for R17 under be that’s possibly where the x is

Just give you slightly bit of ball flight it’s not going to launch wildly high but will just hold a few hundred RS more spin on so in principle so X is slightly high spin ball is a little is in theory a slightly better spin number

But we’ll use we’ll use the X to GA bit of Daya okay so what we’ll do with that is t height we can go higher or lower so if it’s lower just turn it that’s quite High um turn it clockwise if you’re on a bit higher just anticlockwise but uh we’ll see sets

Up and would you say from when it goes well from a flight point of view and then trajector and they know always too high always too high always the my ball flight is just sail Sky High and goes I like I never get the penetrating ball flat that I want to see it’s

Everything’s just always high off the face always high okay see that’s one of the ones I’d be happy with it’s good swing line you path point three from into to out so that’s nice and stable that was I think heel no okay but it works there we go

Yeah and that’s the uh the FR to tea yeah yeah that’s Dam and one of things because you have a decent amount of speed you Club speed on those on those shots looking at kind of basically 110 yeah then little me 106 107 but the problem is if you get one like that

Where you can see it really kind of drop in behind and go right that that then is well that’s 50 yards right yeah so and as you said lost ball whereas actually if you were less speed you can 30 35 you still probably would find it but at the speed

You’ve got It’s a Long Way and so I know when I look at the track man myself it’s 15 to 112 is really the window on my swing speed um at at one point when I first started I was down at 95 yeah and that’s just I was so slow because I had

No confidence at all that it was just and it was even say it was even worse at one because I was going so slow it just I was so out of kity yeah um but yeah so I say 15 to 112 is roughly where it sits

At okay we just get a couple more just get a kind of broad broad average there and then and then work through yeah and that’s the inevitable next one yeah interesting if your your path’s not is it neutral feel like it might get quite and I’m sure say you

Being you know your numbers on here but um you know you’d anyone who says you know it gets a little inside I’m normally expecting to be about double that okay so you know 3.8 really is bad not bad but you face the target there is actually pretty close half a degree but

It’s the shape that that result the shape that puts on it um and especially cuz at the first shot I’m probably aiming up the right hand side expecting to come in then it goes right and like okay just Center the Fairway and then it’s left and and dead so it’s just pure

It’s just the fact I’ve got no confidence in it yeah because in terms of it’s interesting so good ones already that was a little bit T so it took a bit of spin-off but if I go into the numbers side of itar so you know path numbers are really absolutely fine they’re

Really pretty Orthodox um but we can see the issues coming from the face to path numbers and then actually for such a consistent delivery your angle attack varies a little bit and the face to path goes in and out quite a bit and those

Two um kind of go hand in hand the the more that club gets out of plane starts to your right side especially where it drops behind drops under and in comes the flip or the spoon right so they go from kind of three three or four Ang of

Attack is absolutely fine but to go to the odd one to eight that’s then in terms if you think of the Swing as a circle kind of where that sits within that that face has got a lot of time to wrap around to get there so but that’s I

Think that’s just where you’re managing that right because there’s nothing swing wise that looks it’s not volatile but where that’s getting really quite that one right you could really see it drop in and hang open um and so I think that that element of not being able to just

Stand and Deliver and head a consistent shot pattern and with it being such a different set up to the rest of the set it’s not like a feel with your IRS can relate to the dri so you then kind of Rock and Hard Place kind of stuff but

There’s lots of good good stuff um you hit up on it the reason bit so you are going to create launch yeah however as long as you don’t get that one that three five on spin granted a bit Healy that’s the one that really kills you so

Um if we can keep the spin around the because of your ball speed you can coope with a kind of 1900 2,000 Spin and your launch angle which a lot of players wouldn’t be able to but I think we’re going to potentially need to get it down

There if the launch angle stays High okay but where say where you hit up and at four or five de you’re turning a 9 and half degree into a 13 14 degree head so chances are the higher launch will retain but if we can just yes get that

Club base back under control yeah so so good side is Club setup and Shop pattern mirror one another which is always was re sure so what I’m going to do first up it’s almost like a normalize I want to I’m going to keep that sharp I’m going

To get um one of the current heads but just a little less Loft and make the balance more neutral so kind of normalize the setup a little bit and see where that puts us as a sort of bench mark because at the moment it’s it’s so

Exaggerated it’s kind of a little bit um going to call a full set of readings but it’s quite distinctive so I’ll Whip that and put the one of the current models on expens right let’s grab I’ll get the I’ll start with tsr3 just because it’s the most relevant

Option take the Loft down a fraction do you go out and play many different courses or um yeah so we’re on a society just play around sort of Kent sorry um then go on holiday two or three times a year um and yeah just a lot of uh Club golf 45 As me change that backward slightly so even with a relatively of standard wait I think it’s it’s swinging or it setup is relatively tip heavy um whether there’s a little extra weight within the shaft bed as well um but it is fairly strongly balanced get a different back we for

This to get this down more in line with it won’t be quite as light as where the IRS are so around the D1 D2 marker okay just mirror where the Fairway withd is so we’ll see just from a swinging point of view hopefully hopefully feel a

Little bit easier just to to free that up um without having to adjust for the head but this say normalizes the setup and gives us a bit more of a bench mark to work with yes definitely uh different okay hell right stay away from the hill okay so that’s quite interesting

With it is still got an element of looking like it gets slightly behind so almost by by losing that amount of I I granted going from very head heavy to neutral there’ll be a little bit of adjustment but even then it didn’t look as clean through the ball the first one

Looked okay yeah but there’s a sort of flow and and a synchronization that I’m looking for where it allows you just to move and the hand and comes with you doesn’t look like it’s quite happen with that so I’m going to go to something with a few grams less than the Shelf

Okay it didn’t it wasn’t sort of a an immediate Eureka moment no it didn’t didn’t feel like it it felt like a I would say different yeah wasn’t bad different it’s just different not uh not quite where we want it to be they so get this out so I can put the other

Shafts in I’ll use this as a just headwise it’s a relevant start point and then once we get the Sha more settled in we can see where it’s giving on fli and then look at other options from the gra a couple of shafts so this going to lose a few I

Don’t want to go too kind of weird and set up first but it’s going to lose principal three or four four or five grams at the Sha I don’t actually interestingly looking at that I don’t want to lose too much feel for the head okay um you’ve got

A little bit of a kind of you’ve got a bit of a laggy action with your hands so you naturally create quite a little you create a little bit of a drop in um but I think if we lose I think if we lose too much feel for the bottom end then

Actually there’s nothing to build speed with okay so we’ll test that theory theory is one thing um but yeah you always need to I don’t want to take out that that drop because it’s something you naturally do but it’s going to be really key finding

The right balance to from a a timing and a squaring point of view to going to give you enough to hit against and to use to generate the speed without then getting stuck so primarily that’s just got a little bit less shaft weight in okay I can never do

That pull the trigger I knew no that was I know okay I’ll watch one more I think’s okay it’s definitely a better setup there’s a little bit more of a trend there so that’s a bit of a tow strike face to power zero same on the

First one was slightly open and a slight tow strike which kind of geared it back in um but there’s definitely more consistency there I want to find where we go to light and then I’ll bring it back up but that should have felt like you could regulate it yeah it felt a lot

More comfortable so I want to find where we go too light find us bottom out so this one shaft where it tends to it says 65 and it if I remember rightly was more kind of the 65 to 67 and things that one’s down more like 63 so I’m just

Going to drop it down a little bit further watching tiger over the weekend yeah it’s nice to see back is yeah I it’s um I he’s still got by a mile the biggest draw out there I think um you know almost no matter how rude a health the game’s in it still currently

Needs him around he just it’s just got the tiger effect it’s just undeniable how big his draw is it’s a bit like years back if you put an aging necklace or Palmer anywhere you could guarantee crowds in viewing yeah he still just box office okay there’s a little bit that just

Looks a little bit flicky through the board probably I think cuz once you gain a bit of trust and confidence with it you’re not going to well we don’t want you to have to back off want you not have to smash it but I want you to be

Able to commit so it felt like I just it was just not where I needed needed to be yeah you can see a little bit of a what call Zoro through the ball so just just wasn’t quite there I’d rather have one that dropped in a little bit and if

Anything hung right because you can then square that off more rather than have to almost sort of manage manage it manage it not going especially where inen this mindset where I’ve just been trying not to do that it’s just a backwards feeling to try and have to do that to keep it square

M back up a couple of GRS into that last one was down at 57 58 gr okay so this one we back up at 60 yeah is straight away I the strike wasn’t quite middled but straight away as you started down and swung you could see that the handle stayed out in front

Of you more we see the club drop in so yes it’s G left through a tow strike but face to halfth half a degree open so much much better in terms of that that timing that was terrible terrible okay see one more that as can say that look pretty solid okay

That’s good definitely want to go don’t want to go lighter but into that kind of bottom end of the 60s is definitely the right way there WEA okay okay so whil it’s not necessarily middle middle a little bit lower Center that’s that’s a darite more stable those

First couple there you s base to Bath s okay second one got a little bit flipp were they all tow strikes uh they were just there was one terrible to that second one I think second one right on the to which one was the one that was

Right I mean cuz that’s just completely different anyway first one sorry right on the toe but actually you know the others Center or just below Center previous one well the lighter one got a little low uh and then the the one two back which is actually more similar

Way to this it’s more consistent but it’s just on the toe side so I kind of I don’t I’d rather see it a heat map like that because then you the the the more reliable what the club’s doing becomes the more you can regulate that and bring

That in um so you know lighter one the current ones there and then heavier one again just tend a little toe side of anything that’s so that’s progress then because It’s usually the other side so let me I’m going to leave definitely not going to

Put that one I’m going to leave that one there for the moment now I know’s going to get a couple of others just roll going back and forth and back and forth dial this in a little bit more so yeah you certainly say angle attack still stayed strongish um but that where

With where ball positions relatively far forward you’re always going to create a Reas Ang of attack um so the slightly lower Loft head definitely not a bad thing yeah so these are all going to sit in that kind of 60 to 64 G range okay it’s really just seeing as we as we

Go through them does one just knit things together a little bit better you in principle they’re all relatively so this one’s got a little bit of kick to it but the others will fairly stable tip and lower launch profile in principle that was hit good ball speed

Okay again yeah so just pushing the weight up a little bit interesting path slightly more into out strikes a little bit more solid on both of those but it’s just Dro swing line a little off to the inside okay I see one more of that see and that’s when I get into a

Sort of Rhythm yeah I I do tend to see the path com on the inside and I need to get back into the yeah and then that one that last one back at two and a half and so that’s the slightly open face slight toe strike just kind of neutralizing one

Another but actually definitely going back up a little bit of weight that looked like looked a little bit more solid a little bit more reliable it it felt more I felt like I had more to give with a little bit more weight y okay but we also I would anticipate

We’ll also see yeah the strike is more consistent so you bring that back in a little bit then you lose a bit of like on those where it’s seeing it gear around you lose a bit of that um but that’s one that’s one of those things

Where as it all dials in you’ll then be able to move the strike point a little bit that’s it I think for me it’s just having a platform where I can build confidence and correct those faults yeah whereas right now I just uh I’m a little bit

Lost yeah where you get say that little bit you got that sort of laggy action with the hands it’s a free air action with your hand you gener that kind of snap speed always once you get something that’s that’s quite kind of it’s all exaggeration be

Kind of lead ball the end of the piece of string it’s quite detached in your current setup then it’s very hard to control that and then the all you’re seeing is more of a drop and a catapult and it just exaggerates a natural tendency anyway which creates you lots

Of speed yeah um but a little more volatility from a club face point of view so it’s where you see someone like Alvaro Kos on tour has got that real kind of laggy Snappy speed you’ve got that with your hands in terms of being kind of quiet and big kind of body

Rotation it’s a proper crack of the whip speed uh and and that just means that you are going to be a bit more sensitive to balance point simply because it’s a it’s a later whipper acceleration rather than a big kind of build up and and hit

So anyone who’s got that little bit of a of a of a whip and a rotation to their release pattern um yeah just just means we’ve got to be tighter there’s going to be a setup that’s just going to knit it together better but you’ll also be

Pretty darn sensitive to swing as so perfect so re I mean really with your current one if that shelf wasn’t quite so heavy I don’t think it’d be a million miles off it’s just about four five GS too heavy that was a heel strike and I think

We’ve lost some weight just a little bit yeah yeah I’ll just uh I’ll pop that other bit back on it’s just a small bit of extra stuff I put on yeah I mean that was it just felt like a a me terrible swing but not in 2.7 yeah so not too bad

Yeah certainly can see where we are at the weights now we’re on being right down at 60 being a little bit above just a little bit more to to hit against to hit with so certainly in terms of you what I don’t want to overprotect I we

Need to kind of set it up for when you start to enjoy using the driver rather than yeah nice so again slight slight toe strike hence the shape but you can see from this it’s just just a little on the toe side face to path 7 that that one that that L had

Kind of time just like everything started to it just it did feel connect it felt more like a solid yeah strike I’d be Happ like a swing I’d feel like I’d be happy with even though it may not have gone exactly where I would have needed it I think I would have been

Happy with it okay okay that’s okay there’s definitely a um best way of describing a kind of the B starting to look a little quieter through the ball so you know the variation face and and not seeing that last minute what call catapult through the ball yeah that’s much more stable

Through the ball so what we can see with that is so that’ll be more Centered but actually in terms of um what I can see with you there is as you’re coming through the ball there’s more of an extension through so that means everything’s coming through in syn of your body rotation rather a little out that creates that wh the better

Setup it is the more it allows everything to stay Square through the ball so in terms of you Tolerance on looking back at numbers here um those face to path numbers the first one had a little bit more draw where that bit of weight came off once we put that back on

Much small and num face to path and you’re not going from two closed two and a half open there’s yeah less one half open after seeing a toy one go left and then starting to regulate in um strike point with these slightly heavier ones that efficiency 148 49s that’s really

Nice um light on was was okay um um is interesting you can look at the numbers it looks pretty good but what we can see I’ll close these down so we can see more more shots on the screen you’re at 105 with that you’re at 107 with the heavier

Shaft so you can you can use the heavier weight to develop a bit more speed um whereas I think at the lighter weight you it you can see the strike point not as good with that Ventus blue at 57 G so it’s it’s just and foreclosed face toart

As well so just over ping that weight flipping it this sort of weight’s allowing everything to kind of drop in and stay with you better so there certainly a better weight there and and as a result okay strike went off there but over the the graphic

Design the VF at 60 G you’ve gone from 281 average to 288 292 so that Dand was slightly the previous sh was slightly longer but we can see tolerance wise on the club pH 2.9 to 1 .9 so a little bit more variable so as you just Des

Described earlier on you know especially at Shooters know the Left Right dispersion tightening up is definitely where we want want to be so um i’ take reliability on Club Bas versus a couple of extra yards I think especially at Shooters youve got quite a few people

Who can’t hit it as far yeah they’re always in the Fairway and like I maybe 100 yards past them yeah but I could be 100 yards past them in the bush and they all say oh I’d love to have yeah i’ rather just be where you are I want your

Straightness so let me just test this as well but it’s nice that’s also a nice ball flight so in terms of that um optimization you see there technically there’s another one or two miles now ball speed but it’s a very safe spin rate and launch so it’s in a really nice flight

Window rather than getting a volatile kind of you know 16 launch 1500 spin that that spin helps just to kind of hold the flight a little bit as well take quite interesting actually with where with that last shaft had to add a little bit of head weight to get it

There so the Sha’s a little less tip bounce than some of the others and and this we’re going to player to player um it’s some so I need weight in the bottom of the shaft yeah um whereas interesting enough we don’t want to go counterbalanced or you need a bit

Of bottom end waiting but actually probably a bit of bottom end waiting and a bit of extra head weight rather than all of it being done in the sh I think be intered in going back to this following the previous model that wasn’t a great strike but no but

What’s quite interesting is having had something where it wasn’t quite as tip balanced yeah we gave more tip balanced and see one more but that’s very much 60° open on the face so that brings back in it’s not as exaggerated as that one setup wise but it brings back in that

Miss which we’ve not had with the other one yeah yeah same again it just it’s I can feel it just I know that feeling well and the next one’s just going to be and that’s in a good place yeah the next one you’re going to stall and wrap so

That’s yeah quite definite yeah so we don’t want too too much in the shaft okay yeah I know that feeling very well uh I’m not going to use that one cuz that’s going to be a bit more tip wasted and I’ll hold that there for the

Moment okay you get one other just to test that theory what do you do workwise um it so I uh work for an IT company in particular um DXE technology so we are um man united one of man united sleeve sponsors we a merg between it companies

But we deliver it services to it companies and I sort of support the it for the IT company yes it’s going to go way beyond my pay grade I I look like I can do stuff with the computer because I can type quickly yeah I mean you’d be surprised

Um about how non-technical the IT industry are but no it’s turn off turn it back on that’s my uh I mean that is a just general fix turn it on turn it off and you’re there um yeah however they say it it’s always on and off

So just test that the you’re going to something that’s a little less tip weighted shaft wise keeping a bit of head weight there jumped to that still a little low in the face okay that’s slightly lighter it’s strange because near a 60 G and didn’t that didn’t compute it was strange

Because it felt really nice but then felt too light I don’t know it was dropped a couple of grams it felt really nice but then it also just it felt like I’d get really AR erratic with it oh back so that’s that’s about at 61 so it just shows actually how sometimes how

Well one it shows we are actually reassuringly sensitive creatures yeah um know those are small differences I say and for for you because it’s that Sly kind of want a better phrase laggier whipper speed generation it it’s it creates a I guess a little bit more it’s a slightly sharper acceleration right

Therefore it kind of amplifies that change in balance and change in setup so it just makes you a little more sensitive to that side of it than a lot of golfers would be okay but it should mean that when when it’s right it should just feel a lot

Simpler there should be kind of a you know think we’re likely get into kind of one or two standout sh possibly even just one yeah so we go back to that one that was the better one from a delivery point of view earlier and just and straight

Away it’s just bum I just do less just feel like I feel like I know I’m doing less because the the face isn’t all over the place when I’m coming through I’m not just drive I just feel like I’m more with it yeah which is strange feeling for

Me but even when I i’ know I’ve had a bad takeaway where I’d want to stop yeah yeah6 time with that yeah look I’m just going to pop that that that’s the one that’s look like you’ve got the most time to find square yeah and saying that’s just again strike point probably

A little low little toe side yeah that’s just geared it around a bit but um you with the previous one there you know very very stable on the club face it’s 6 1.1 okay two and a bit but the path is a bit more into out so uh you know

1.4.7 you know the first one at three but then everything stabilized so it’s a much much more stable Club face through and then and even there cuz I felt like I wanted to I wanted to back out of that when I got to the top but I was able to

Just get it back M whereas usually those ones where I want to back out of they be gone and I know they be gone on that one I don’t think we needed this yeah getting good ball speed on that last one as well so just cross reference back to [Applause]

This so that one yeah just I watched one with that you could see just roll more I I felt like I was held off not holding off but it just didn’t feel connected as much mhm so you yeah it it just there’s just a little bit more volatility you can see

It’s just a little more going on through so face the targets pretty good but you’re having to maneuver your swing around a little because it felt like when I got to the top there I almost tried to hold off to bring the arms down together with it it wasn’t just wasn’t

You’re having to match yourself to the club rather the other way around yeah because it felt like as turning and I knew it was just going to be out there I was like just how do I bring it back but there’s not a lot of time to to find the

Square I’m just want to go back to one other before B I don’t think we’ll beat that one just because we this was one of the earlier ones we just want to double check with okay that’s right I’ll get rid of that one I just so what that shows is once

You get used to not having to manage the club face now anything else suddenly the the dispersion pattern really kicks up because your body will just take path of least resistance it will just once you can start to swing and move freely that then shows you how much of a

Compensation You’ have to make to square it off so and cuz it yeah it felt really tough yeah just yeah and so for you versus your action and the way you generate speed versus a lot of other players it’s just going to be that much more noticeable um so it’s

Like that for the first swing you it’s not a weird delivery but you can just see how far out the timing goes yeah so let’s reference that I’ll get a couple of other heads just to that down here so see swing rise D1 just D1 and a

Half give us eight point one of a swing right Point D 1.6 it’s much much more neutral setup than the D yeah I won’t I won’t be cool enough to ask you to hit this straight after but just I’ll pull it back together so you can just feel where that balance sits

Relative to it that should feel pretty damn head heavy yeah it does it just it feels like a different but hence that F you your first move if you move freely in naturally with it as we’ve seen with these other ones one that dead weight of the shafts there few grams heavier but

There’s so much weight in the bottom end that hence it’s that plus a bit in terms of where the right hand side goes so I’ll pop the other shars back on I’m going to get a couple other heads so because of your launch profile we do need something with a strong Loft

To it uh so actually the flight you’re getting off that tsr3 is pretty good it’s in a good place but that’s the 8 Dee head um so we need that lower basically lower actual Loft but we don’t necessarily need something that’s that’s a knuckle on spin okay so H actually the like with

Your irons you can see seven iron spin with the prob 1’s at 5,000 which you could do with that being a bit higher so it’s more getting launch angle down rather than nose diving spin okay but they’ll tend to be the low spin heads to get the Loft but we need to in

The dynamic Loft anyway so so where your also be affected a bit in terms of some of the heads if you got something that’s uh too back weighted that also creates a little bit of opening closing so actually some of the yes something like the type is that tsr3

Because it’s not they’ve not put loads of weight at the back actually the slightly smaller head style might mean a bit more face stability as well yeah it was strange cuz when I went tight list obviously it was a 22 21 22 handicapper um and you just you’d think

You’d fit into a TS2 or you think it’ be a little all yeah and and I thought i’ being ap1s ap3s and it just wouldn’t work yeah yeah certainly um certainly driver head wise um where I’ve clicked on something which will just take a couple of seconds to

Load up I should have written it in um but where the weight’s so much more so much further away from the shaft it just gears it a little bit more so where can you get that little bit of a lag and whip that that just accentuates or it it’ll want to

Open it up a little bit more in the in the back swing well and also where you um in transition sorry where you launch a little higher again you know the TS2 just spins it that bit more so um that’s why even the tsr2 now is lower spin than

TS was they’re not as high flighted but um yeah they could get the they’d be able to get the actual launch profile down a little stronger with a smaller head yeah yard because of thein very to second one was better thr one more that not quite as stable I mean that last one

Was hit well but the consistency that we didn’t see with this shaft one of them go heavily right with the titlist so it’s like that last one’s better ball speed just turned over a little actually pulled the spin down maybe slightly more than the like but um not quite not quite

As consistent no it print of the head side it didn’t feel bad it just wasn’t an immediate yeah this is it yeah it definitely looked like you had to find the face with it a little bit more yeah it did I felt like I was just

Had to sort find my way a little more than I guess how comfortable the tsr3 felt yeah some that can be if it’s a visual you like you relax you swing AIT more freely but it can it could well be just not having quite say quite such a lighter

Crown not quite as deep a waiting you there’s there’s a strong argument say well is that helping just regulate the face a little bit more check the weight on is the heavier one okay it’s got to add a little bit of weight to this head so something like for example

Paradigm trip one has a little bit more tends to launch it slightly higher relatively L but also that could get that knuckle on spin especially where your strikes on the toe side there are certain heads that I’m I’m going to avoid like the plague because of because

Of that tow strike Tor made one of them yeah yeah I could tell you now I don’t get on with tailor made that and head weight they’re slightly stronger head weight in the main particularly the plus which would be the head that would get the launch angle down a little bit more

So um so actually all that’s going to do and then with a tow strike the tendency to get the spin coming off that’s where um you TSR 3 for me with mine I actually slightly more of a heel strike but because I do play with a slight

Draw that what I don’t want is that volatility of spin so we you that’s actually we didn’t see any where it nose dive the spinoff yeah this one’s the six one perfect z x 5 the LS okay definitely straight away moved better yeah than the Ping just looked

Like looked like the tightness in terms of that connection and it felt like the tight it felt like I didn’t have to worry about anything but the ball that was a bad swing came out of a bit but it’s i’ I’d rather see that tendency as a slight

Push Miss than the one that then rips left as a Miss slightly high launch interesting think that was a reaction to the last one yeah yeah but it’s not exaggerated no and there still okay it’s not as disastrous as it usually is no exaggeration it’s just a bit of weight

That’s come off that but it’s so it is a notably I’m just going to check stri not be higher launch I’m just going to see whether that’s to do with okay there a little bit more of a variation of High face to low face one definitely that

Last one’s a little bit higher up the face uh and that one makes sense being a little lower but it’s it’s it’s interesting from a launch to spin point of view the average is pretty good but it’s high generally on the higher side where as the test A Little Bit Stronger

The strike pattern is a little bit more reliable um would it be interesting just going to put that tius back on actually I mean result wise good ones good out of it certainly kept La spin in a good place but the can see the consistency of

The height of flight as the ti yeah so that potentially I think it’s going to be got feels it’s going to give you a slightly more reliable kind kind of window um so visually a more consistent flight I’ll put that back On based on that I might just I’ll do we’ll do a couple I may lift the tea up there are certain heads where getting you know the the middle of the face the sweet spots slightly higher at the face than others okay but see a couple back

With that before I do make a change a little ahead of that one that was the reason I that one dropped a little more inside jumped did it interesting jumped it interesting see one more there just going back this looks a little less just looks a bit more

Varied that was high in the face little a little high the face on that one yeah face look a bit more stable that one’s got a little little more out the toe interesting that that’s a bit more but I wonder what the first one spooked there’s a bit more variable than the

Previous but just do a couple more I’ll put the stck on head back on that that look that look back to the more stable back to the fill yeah so still aead so the draws the tow strike side of it you just ring the swing back

A little bit on that but flights back in that same window as you were but yeah that’s that’s just a little on the toe side the draw better a much more stable face again the S on head back on a little bit more of a flip just because of where the flight

Height was I’m just take the Loft down a fraction on the S on okay and I’ll put the weight back on that came yeah interesting where that just look like a little bit more feeling for the strike in the good the good one the St one look great again

Why one might there’s a chance that as you st to trust it I might I’ll see the I might need to put just a little bit more head weight on okay just just test with this one putting just a little bit more on the on the club head whether as you’re starting

To it doesn’t necessarily mean more speed going but it means just a little bit more um aggression yeah a little more energy going through the club we make the swing that’s slightly heavier does that actually help to knit it together because so from how good the tiess head

Looked first time round that batch didn’t look quite as clean it’s it’s not a lot different be interesting to see with this as we push the swing weight up a little bit does that help get that um time back through impacted again okay okay let me do the same with the T

That’s so that’s got a knuckly spin one yeah yeah from a square Club base so yeah I is the low spin model you see the same I give you a little bit more head weight on the tlist head just go fraction Fraction do as well I can do on this I’m just going to move that mass at the back just a hair toe side just to since it’s moving the center of gravity a little bit more toe side so more behind the strike point which helps just reduce a

Bit of the gearing so it doesn’t fade bias it massively but it’s Shifting the CG a little more under the tote okay thank you okay let me take that extra head weight back off yeah it felt okay let’s just get back to that interesting ball speed up going back

Onto this head so we’ve hit one best part of 161 that L better it’s just mental how that looked better yeah just that little bit away yeah yeah it’s interesting so that first one even that went right that that looked like it was back into dropping into sort of just hung there a

Little long yeah and then that one squared alsoo slight tow strike but back into square back into a bit more time but ball speeds up with this head yeah maybe a little lower on the face yeah but but it’s that’s so there’s a little bit I think I mean that one

Path got a bit more into out yeah and that’s it’s just getting that toe that strike point away from the toe um you if we can start to bring that in a bit more then it’s just going to lose a bit of that gearing right to left which then

You know your average path face to path absolutely fine it just loses that overdraw from a tow stri and so I guess Bas from where I’ve been in the last few weeks I know it’s been healing okay yeah getting more towards the mean is working

It’s just that I need to yeah it’s just then it a little bit um but I I think overall say what we’re not seeing out of that one say like toe strike there still got a two on the front of the spin which near the St on then down like 1500 the

Ping down to 1,700 that is a much safer safer spin rate for you um that was the before we took the weight off so there a couple whether is a little bit of a lost Zone swing white swing certainly I think moving that weight out of the toe just mitigates some of that

That gearing um but you back into that kind of it’s a very very safe spin this might show it as slightly high but it’s still within the blue area but that’s also little toe little low you bring that up a little bit from slightly low toone to the center then the spin drops

A little bit the launch angle picks up a little bit and you lose a little bit of that gearing but um it’s you it’s a it’s a it’s a consistent stri p and that’s just then say if you’ve regulated it away from the heel just then softening

It back a little bit but you ball speed wise that’s thing got to numbers we haven’t seen out the others yeah um and launch and spin in a really nice window and the solid hits even on the toast py toe strike it’s not got the scary low

Spin one that that’s what marks that head out certainly why I went to that as well um and that little bit lighter on the on the shaft weight so it’s a few grounds lighter on the shaft still keeping a bit of balance balance in the little bit of balance in the tip section

Um but that lower Loft that that smaller head style definitely a good thing for you on that so one of the things that we do is a process so everything’s built in the workshop next door so we get head and sha components in and then build them to

These are all calibrated every morning so the swing we are identical to what you’ve used which for you is really important um to what you’ve used in the bay today one of the other process we do is the Sha puring so best is like balancing a car wheel but once the shaft

Is trimmed to length and and trimmed to frequency and kind of if for example like for you i’ just Shore up the tip I wouldn’t go so Flex while stay in the S because if we go the exit tip the way too heavy but we can we can sh up the

Tip a little bit more by shortening the tip section so say once once we’ve trimmed those it’s then put raw into the um into the clamp of the machine tips put under a load cell and rolled to get the 360 and 360 consistency and look at where the stiff and the softer points

Are cuz it’ll exert different upward forces based on its 360 profile and then based on the stiffest point is then find its most stable orientation so that when it’s built into the club the most stable Point goes Target side because as the shaft stresses and loads it stresses

That way it twists so it’s going to recover back onto its most stable point so hence the bouncing your car wheeel side so a bit of a visual feel analogy would be I’ll get you the W this as well someone’s bet that um that way around

Flat is very very stable if you twist it a little bit you’ll feel it start to pull and that’s really the effect so you’re getting the even though still back and through with that you see it start to twist a bit and that’s really what Shar puring does it means you it

Stabilizes the face and reduces a bit of offline twisting through impact so if it’s offline again it’s going to give a little bit more it’s on its stable point it holds a bit tighter so it tightens up Spin and dispersion a little bit but it really means we get the properties we’ve

Chosen that sha from okay so but that’s a process that we we go through as part of the build but it does mean logowise we’re often seeing them coming out on one of the four points of the compass okay but the logo could be yeah I’ve never I’ve never been a never

Bothered with a logo so the other element’s grip GP type and size see your hand Dimension so your your hand Dimension gets longer that way where his mine kind of kicks back a little bit more you’re longer in that side of the hand so actually one of the

Spec take a grip of that um so Top Hand could could go a hair bigger but that’s not far off this is really going to be down the bottom hand so that finger doesn’t really fill out that finger so um you’re kind of getting spacing around

It kind of hangs off a little bit so for someone who’s got a little bit of rotation to their action the less stable it fits in that bottom hand it can move around a little more destabilize even further and I would say this one is definitely thicker

So I think y these have got probably five layers I was going to say they’re definitely bigger than the standard yeah see how that fits bottom hand as well actually see yeah and I I wouldn’t go any smaller than that so um one of the grips so I

See the to Top Hand again if you can grip them again yeah cuz I mean that actually size with that fits well yeah you wouldn’t necessarily need to go to I wouldn’t go to the midsize cuz I think that would get the top hand too big too big I’m

Going to get one of the plus four grips just to see how that sits in bottom hand as well great just grab that so yeah you still need the top P that little bit bigger yeah so there are there are a couple of ways of doing I think we still

Need so what the plus four style grid takes the tapering out okay so whilst you definitely need the top pan bigger yeah and again because of Dimensions where you’re longer in that that index finger side of the hand proportionately that bottom as as that grip tapers down

It needs to be and any grip tapers down a little bit apart from the plus fours we just need to reduce that tapering slightly so even with the extra layering in the top we need proportionate a little bit more in the bottom hand just to fill out that b of your hand side

Yeah cuz i’ I’ve been for midsize I’ve been up and B down and I’ve just found that just so far just been standard grip just with loads of tape yeah yeah cuz the mid size will take that Top Hand just a little bit big but the man’s

Probably pretty darn close yeah um so there are Ian you can do it with it’s easier to do it with something like the plus4 because it’s less extra tape and then with how sensitive you are to waiting we’re not putting loads of layers of tape on which UPS the weight

In the gripper and then you got to up the bottom and so that s of softens off the weight gain of the grip end and grip from a grip type point of view I’ll grab the ones that do that with you’ve got the tall velvet which is the same feel

As what you’ve currently got um and And the other ones that are easy to doal with got those but the cording in the top not everybody used to play this and just much forer T velvet now and the only other one would be that there’s a little more tread but it’s not a rubber

So that will be a more familiar feel yeah I think then definitely a tall velvet but we certainly put extra it wouldn’t need as many extra layers in the bottom hand as the Top Hand um so I’ll double check the exactly because you’ve already got effectively four extra layers in the

Bottom hand so we don’t need to build at the bottom hand quite as as much as the top hand so we go um go the four layers in the top but only a couple of extra in the bottom hand cuz we already got the scale there so only other question on

That would be do you want that on the top I don’t mind or you could put it that way around yeah I’ll go logo up yeah logo up yeah logo up at worst can always take it off and change it around so so essentially yeah it’s less Loft the

Current heads are just more stable across the face actually the titless heads this year um bll speed maintenance been really good but you you’ve not got the volatility on spin that other models give you which is why that one’s marked out and then it’s the 10i 1K Pro white

60 in the stiff but we’ll just sh up the tip end a little bit more length can say well this is going to be quarter inch less we don’t need to go longer than but standard at 45 the longer you go the more that’s going to bring in a little

Bit of rotation um but that bigger bottom my hand grip should again just stabilize in your right hand stabilize the face a little bit um yeah but a nice nice game good yeah I’m happy felt comfortable cool and uh yeah step in the right direction I just need a platform

To actually get better with rather than just yeah the nice thing it’s quite a i me in ter of dead weight difference it’s it’s quite a pointed change we’re still keeping some feel for the club head but but it’s just very exaggerated where it is so it’s no great surprise that it’s

Been hard work um so actually yeah in terms of Weight Wise going from 336 to 325 okay so a lot of that weights in the head yeah um so those S of you six odd 565 and a bit five sing points um because that’s D 1.8

Uh that is basically 10 G so um just slight shifts around and kind of grip weights and things from there but yeah it’s a few GS in the Shelf but a heck of a lot in the head good change perfect good

  1. What I don’t understand, is why the fitter just doesn’t mess around with the titleist sleeve settings. Surely that can change things rather than just promoting shaft after shaft.

  2. See I don’t understand this. You’re fitting him to his swing THAT day. Which was very inconsistent. Trying to get too technical with tee heights lead tape etc etc. he’s not going to be able to replicate that every time. I’ve been through a few fittings at 10hcp. It’s more so about getting something he’s comfortable with that he likes the look of that’s comparable with his swing speed and launch. The rest he simply needs to figure out with practice. His swing will change 20 times before the end of the next season. It’s more about technique than it is equipment. Firm believer in that.

  3. Classic case of blaming the arrow, not the archer. I think buying a sleeve of lessons to fix that swing would yield far more results. If you don’t address swing, you will be back every six months as you make incremental improvements, or degradations. Mate, you’ve been watching too many Vijay Sing videos and misinterpreted his hands during the release. He doesn’t flip, or roll his hands at impact. If you watch very closely, he actually extends his right wrist elongating his right arm to a straight position through impact then folding the wrist. I would swing your truth, and find a pro that will find a repeatable swing and your game will flourish.

  4. Simon’s fitting videos are massively informative and much appreciated. What impact will the different grip/layers of tape have on swing weight/balance and how shaft reacts ? Thanks

  5. Anothwr great fit chaps…this lad has a nice swimg plemty of speed …i reckon his irons are his main issue and poss wedges …he will get to single figures easy i reckon ..well done neber easy being fit and being filmed 👍👍👍

  6. Watching these videos makes me want to visit for a fit. Seems much more in depth than ones I've done previously. Having said that he looked like towards the end fatigue and frustration started to set in.

  7. Simon it’s Brilliant for me to watch you work👍, a few questions, What are you looking for when you add a little lead tape? To increase the club head weight or move the centre strike point or change the shaft timing on striking, (it’s the fine tuning) that’s so fascinating for me👍, Thanks Dickey 9hcp 76year senior golfer(brilliant Driving Jacob) you’ll be single figure’s next year

  8. Another great video Simon 👍🏾 A few people have said in the comments that Jacob should have lessons rather than a new driver but i think he is right to get the best driver for him first then have lessons next. If he would have had lessons with his current driver which at D7 was clearly too heavy for him Jacob would have struggled to see improvements with lessons. Now he has the correct driver the lessons will be so much more effective and easier to implement.

On a separate note Simon, Dean and me (Stephen Forbes) came to see you on October 26th for a iron fitting and we ended up keeping my current Srixon ZX5 MKII heads but changing the shafts. I was having a slight issue with the 6i causing a push fade but ive sorted it now with a lesson from my pro. For some reason i am making i ever so suttle flatter backswing with that particular club which was causing me to leave the club face open at impact. Made a slight adjustment so all good now 👍🏾😁
Loving the shafts much better feel and flight the the Project X Rifle.

  9. Always enjoy your videos and knowledge but I have to say this fitting only makes sense if the client was dead set on owning the TSR3. Titleist in their own marketing and fitting guide are very clear that head is for a player who consistently finds the center. This player could barely find the center 10% of the time. God bless him if he got what he wanted though.

  10. Hope you gents had a fab Christmas. I’m curious if you can help me out with a grip selection.

I hood the club in a closed position at address. If I start with the club squarer, I just end up wiggling things around until it’s closed. This means I need to be like 10* in to out to square the 5* closed to target face angle.

My grip is on the weaker side of things with one and a half knuckles showing. I also wear a M/L Cadet glove as my hands are square in shape with shorter fingers.

Suggestions welcome. Have a good new year.
