Better and learn to Spring the shaft now this is the secret engine component of the golf swing that all great players have but a lot of golfers struggle with it now I want to tell you guys um I’ve been working on this load and explode

Move out of my lead side and I actually started to stress my knee out and that’s what leads to today’s video where I’m flaring my front foot out a little bit to relieve some of the pressure on that knee and it’s working actually it’s working fantastically well I’ve been

Doing doing it for 3 weeks now so today’s a great video where I’m going to talk you through that and I’m going to explain springing the shaft in a little bit more detail which is really really great now real quick I am going to have the next Miracle swing weekend

End oh yeah real quick I just finished my video with Jackie Burke at Champions golf club the story of Champions golf club is one that definitely needed to be written this is going to be available to Miracle swing country club members really soon we’re going to try and get

That uploaded for you but at any rate I want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and remember right now the over-the-top miracle swing is on sale Christmas through the end of the year it’s over 30% off so I highly recommend commend you take advantage of this so that you

Can start playing the very best golf of your life now let’s get into today’s video okay guys I’m out here at Altadena golf course on a sunny California day it’s probably about 65° got my sweater on and I’m getting loose here with a pitching wedge just tossing some balls out there now if

You’ve been following along I’ve been been working up and out of my lead side through my left leg and left shoulder and I was absolutely peering the ball hitting it about as well as I could and would you believe I hurt my knee I was

Just having so much fun um not having a care in the world hitting bucket after bucket and then after my last Skins game the next morning I couldn’t get up I got out of bed in my my knee was swollen and I wasn’t really wasn’t really 100% it was a little bit

Scary and so what I believed was I was putting too much pressure on the outside of my knee with with my dip move my my Hogan dip so what I decided I would try to do today was rotate my left foot out more uh to allow myself to rotate through the ball

And now as I’m starting to get a little bit more warmed up here I think I’m moving to an eight iron now I’m starting to be able to to hit the ball pretty solid and the thing that I noticed first about flaring my foot open is I’m Ro I can rotate more

Everything’s about rotation okay Gary Player told me rotation is the most important thing in the golf swing so let’s watch the swing right here okay so that’s super duper solid so here I’m demonstrating that if I open my foot up more as I press out this is what

What I did that was hurting my knee but by rotating my foot out then I can keep my knee over my ankle okay now I’m really really starting to hit some nice compress press smooth shots here now one thing I noticed with the flared foot because I was rotating more

I was hitting some balls out to the left so I had to try and remind myself to stay inside the ball so with my over-the-top move you can go over as much as poss like I’ve talked in the past about hitting a cut where I go actually hit

The outside of the ball like the far um like if the top of the ball away from me is 12:00 and 3:00 is the perfect back of the ball to hit a cut I try and hit 2:00 but in this case since I was pulling it a little bit I just want to

Stay inside 3:00 I can go over the top as much as I want looping it inside up and over but stay inside and result in a pretty straight shot like that one that ball was super compressed so let’s take a look at this here here we can see that

Shaft is is bent backwards and then this next shot we’re going to see that that shaft Springs forward and that’s what’s giving me that great um hands forward position and that penetrating ball flly just totally smoked that ball effortless compression comes from being able to utilize the shaft

And the biggest problem that people have when they’re hitting the golf ball that I just see randomly is they’re not springing the shaft they’re bouncing the ball off the face of the club okay so being able to stick that that club in the ground and get that

Shaft to spring for you that’s the secret of compression that’s the secret of effortless Golf and that’s the The Secret of elite golfers if you try and accelerate too much you’re going to wind up bouncing the the ball off the face but there’s there’s the point where the

Handle has to start moving back up um it’s almost a feeling like you have to slow the handle down through impact it’s like you can’t snap a towel if you don’t pull back on on the towel and so that’s the feeling of the left hand the top of the handle the push

Pull all of these things create this whipping sensation down through the bottom of the ball at impact and it’s it’s crucial if you want to make it to the next level as a ball Striker yeah so I’m just humming right along here and there’s nothing better than feeling feeling that shaft spring

Through the hit compress the golf ball and watching the ball take off with effortless power if you’re a golfer over 50 I want to teach you Bobby Jones and Sam sneed’s secret it’s called The over-the-top Miracle swing and I guarantee it’s the best swing for you after studying the

Swing with the greatest golfers in history I’ve developed a swing that works every single time my seven video course is on sale for Christmas so don’t miss out on this opportunity to play the best golf of your life and I guarantee it’s the last swing you’re ever going to try

  1. I have been flaring the front foot for years as it helps me keep it straight and gets away from my nasty hook miss. Great video here, as usual!

  2. If you want rotate more try flaring both feet out about 30 degrees, just saying. Thanks…. Love your instructional videos.
I wish I had your beautiful weather here.

  3. Cristo I have been following you since the beginning I appreciate everything you have done showing your journey you have been through and teaching others. The best way to compress a golf ball is coming stepper into it but that leads to the flip in time with experience the Dustin Johnson heavy wrist pronation and step follow through is honestly the best that can be achieved. I like you have chased the perfect feel as a professional all my life. The Golf Swing will always be grip, posture, path/plane and tempo period. I honestly feel like golf professionals teach the modern swing because it's job security instead of just honestly teaching a student, we as professionals improve small things. Always have a local gym with a trainer that you have gone through a training program for golf, strength, flexibility, really impacting the muscles that are needed to help the student. Personally I never had a lesson in my life, after 1 years playing golf at 14 I started breaking par, I went to Ferris State University for the Professional Golf Management program literally the best golf professional university in the world because they started it. For all your countless hours if you ever think hmmm I wonder if anyone every tries this hard and.. finally you have the answer I have gone 27 years 88 days hitting over 1,000 goofballs a day every single day. I am no troll, love your channel and give you so much respect, I even tell all my friends to follow you but in this case what you are showing is the downfall of many years of my life with distance THE ATTACK ANGLE, teach players to keep it straight and if they want a few more yards show them how to correctly choose a golf ball to their availability, I literally shave 3-8 strokes off my students handicap within 3 sessions with grip and golf ball

  4. Swing has regressed away from being as body driven as it has been – think Gregg McHatton. Knudson had a flared foot and it was outside of his shoulder line to aid him moving through the ball – I am reading his book now and he studied Hogans swing a lot – I think it might be worth you reading it if you haven't, or again.

  5. i dont think he has seen a ben hogan swing but my step dad has been doing open foot tning for a while hes bout 60 and cant move but hits the ball straight

  6. Ok now you've triggered me! The front foot flare is the obvious choice for the obvious reason that the knee joint is a hinge joint only designed to bend front and back. Any torquing of the front knee is viewed as non instinctive by the non conscious cerebellum as it does it's job of keeping your body safe. Therefore, without front foot flare you are always picking a fight with the non conscious brain that controls all of our physical movements non consciously. The conscious brain has two jobs in the physical world, it asks for the task and then views the results of the effort and separates those results into two opposite piles…what hurts and what works. In natural instinctive learning, such as when you learned to walk, what hurts is never repeated and what works is incorporated for ongoing use. The non flared front foot is a non instinctive position that has been wrongly taught for decades and would never have evolved instinctively. As far as maintaining flex in the shaft until it should be sprung through impact check these videos out and realize how far off base today's players are with no front foot flare and a bowed wrist at the top.
