Playoffs we’re talking injury updates we’re doing a Thursday night football recap and we’re getting you ready for the rest of our week 16 rankings with some of the big topics that we have from this week this week excuse me so without further Ado we are going to start with

St Bell like we always do stf injury updates there’s a handful of them I’m going to start with Tyreek Hill yeah Tyreek Hill who missed last week and this was we heard that this was his call but really this was as they always our conversations between the player and the

Team last Sunday we were reporting Live Jeff Darlington was telling us about the decision-making it sounded like Tyreek Hill could run and he looked good doing his routes but he was nervous about getting tackled and if you recall how he was injured the mechanism was that of a

High ankle sprain he was lucky it wasn’t more serious but worried about a aggravating the ankle with another tackle now the good news is he did get back in practice on Thursday limited bases this is a big one against Dallas and I would be shocked if Tyreek Hill

Doesn’t play love to hear it yeah we definitely want him out there for our fantasy matchups he helped us get to the playoffs hopefully we can use him here in the play probably had a buy if he had Tyreek Hill so you’re probably pretty pretty right now yeah you’re sitting in

A good spot stefia sounds like Jamar Chase has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against the Steelers with that shoulder injury what can you tell us about what we should expect for this shoulder injury long term well I think it it it is day-to-day as much as we

Didn’t love the fact that Zach Taylor called it a day-to-day injury I think it really is and to be fair even though we’ve heard reports that he was going to miss this week and obviously he is going to he’s already been ruled out but I think it’s hard to project into the

Future because with these AC injuries it really comes down to uh can you function that position one of the hardest things to do is to be able to elevate your arm above 90 degrees after you have this kind of injury and obviously if your receiver who makes catches like Jamar

Chase does you need to be able to get your arm up up in the air and then you need to be able to land on it and not be concerned about falling onto that shoulder so he did not practice at all no real test and we have no way of

Knowing exactly where he is on that but Zack Taylor was right when he said things can change dramatically in a day and with these kind of injuries you will see that some days where the guy doesn’t look like he can play and the next day he looks pretty good so watch the uh

Practice reports closely next week but for this week make other plans bonus day for them next week they don’t play until Sunday after back-to-back Saturday games Chiefs Bengals next Sunday o little bit excited for that one yeah that could be a really that could be very fun all

Right we’ll talk a little bit more about these Bengals pass catchers in a little bit in the show stepania let’s talk Michael Pitman who was a a full participant in Thursday’s practice after being in the cussion concussion protocol excuse me what can you tell us about his

Status for Sunday right and and that’s a great sign obviously as you’re progressing through these different phases of the protocol you want to see the players go through Progressive practice full practice certainly a good sign as long as there’s no after effect from that you would imagine the last

Thing he’ll need to do is get cleared by the independent neurological consultant uh but this is great news we want to see Michael Pitman back in the lineup and uh yes still in the concussion protocol until he is officially cleared but certainly going in the right direction

And he is not the only Indianapolis Colt that has been dealing with something Jonathan Taylor dealing with a thumb injury which as a running back seems really not ideal what can you tell us about Jonathan Taylor yeah so not ideal he had to have surgery to repair the

Owner collateral ligament in his thumb and the great news is that it’s a very sturdy construct once the surgery is done you’re not really worried about the Integrity of the surgery you’re just worried can you do what you need to do as a running back which is protect the

Ball and so grip strength the ability to hold it uh that all got tested really for the first time yesterday yesterday was Jonathan Taylor’s return to practice first time since surgery he’s missed three games so it’s been about three and a half weeks since he actually had the

Surgery um with he might wear some lowprofile splint I could see that happening but everything about this makes me feel like he’s going to be out there and that’ll be important because Zach Moss has not practiced and we talked earlier in the week about reports that it was a shoulder injury nope on

The injury report he’s actually listed with a forearm and this was the concern because that is the forearm he fractured that caused him to miss time earlier this year so not sure exactly what the nature of it is but he landed on that same area and uh hasn’t been able to get

Back into practice Yeah so we’ll see whether he does at all on Friday but Jonathan tayl will to be a very very bu man on Sunday I would anticipate though that there’s a little bit of a build back up for Jonathan Taylor as we saw early on in the season when he returned

After his contract itis case so you might see a little bit of Tyler Goodson maybe a little bit of Trace Surman as well but Jonathan staylor still a strong top 20 running back consideration they play the Falcons on Sunday oo that’s a pretty good defense good run defense yep

All right stania quarterback question for you it’s hard for me not to chuckle we say right now I’m sorry when we’re talking about fantasy football they go hand in hand with it yeah looking at at the quarterback position for the Houston Texans I do not believe that CJ strad was back at

Practice yesterday are we thinking that these are uh CJ strad Vibes or we going to be able to have Case Keenum Vibes for week one for week 16 excuse me it’s certainly looking like Case Keenum right because we has some practiced now who knows what will happen Friday but

Everything is pointing to and all the the vibes from the reporters who there on the ground is that CJ stad is not likely to play this week and that is expected to be Case Keenum so um we just haven’t really seen him so it’s hard to

Gauge where he is in terms of his recovery process but he has not been on the practice field and that’s all you need to know I’ll reiterate from earlier this week they’ve been tipping their cap on this one they’ve been tipping their hand on this one I should say right they

Tried to claim a quarterback off of waivers and then signed Tim Bole to the practice squad so I would be surprised if CJ rad plays on Sunday I don’t even know if he’ll practice today on Friday hon AFC picture winmill on Sunday not the only AFC backup quarterback we may

See this week as well Stefania Trevor Lawrence has never missed a game in his NFL career it sounds like high school too right he has he has yet to miss a game due to injury I believe is this going to be the first week that we see someone other than Trevor Lawrence under

Well it it certainly looked that way until this morning when Doug Peterson just told reporters that Trevor Lawrence will be out on the practice field and his words and I quote where they will give him as much as he can tolerate uh it’s really interesting because usually

We see with this progression through the concussion protocol that you’ll see a player come back and be limited in their first outing and then move towards a full practice and if we look at the time scale Trevor Lawrence hasn’t practiced and by the way also listed due to his

Ankle remember he had that high ankle sprain that he played through so that is still something that is bothering him uh this is this is a tough one you’re just going to have to watch the practice reports because if he does get through today and who knows how much he’ll do he

Would have to also be cleared by the independent neurological consultant he would have to be cleared in time to travel with the team because this isn’t a away game for the Jaguars so I think you’ll have your information by Saturday afternoon but right now little bit questionable so let me ask you this

Field we’re obviously starting travit etn regardless of who’s under Center and I think Evan Ingram is also a no matter what start him yes when you look at the pass catchers if it is CJ Beth are you downgrading any of these guys here’s what I would say as much as I would love

To tell you that I am downgrading Calvin Ridley how can you have any upgrade or downgrade to Calvin Ridley when he has been a self-proclaim he is just like up and down every sing you have no idea how to figure out when it’s going to be a

Good or bad week for Calvin Ridley so yes a little bit of a downgrade because obviously Trevor Lawrence is a superior player to CJ bethard Z Jones may be out yep Z Jones likely will be out it sounds like and know by the way it’s a great

Matchup so you don’t want to downgrade help really too much because certainly a very talented player but the Bucks have allowed the most passing yards in the NFL this season so the opportunity for a big game is there but the confidence does decrease by let’s call it five or

10% if you have a backup quarterback even one and TJ Beth that the team feels pretty good about being a capable fill in for Trevor Lawrence I say Parker outscores Jamal agu in week 16 I would not be surprised by that I am Washington F you’re plant your flag there that’s

Where we’re going to go with we’re looking for other pass catchers other than Calvin Ridley with both Christian Kirk on ir and then like you said potentially no Z Jones is Kirk on IR or is he just he’s just I think he remains out of practice right now right or I

About Thursday night football guys this one was fun I’ll tell you what the offense the offense wasn’t always there in the yeah for the Saints for most of the game but this the second half you saw at the very end it became very exciting Matthew Stafford ended up

Looking fantastic in this one 328 yards and two touchdowns plus one rush for negative four rushing yards that’s what you think for Matthew Stafford down to 66 rushing yards for the season is Matthew Stafford another 20 Fantasy Point game at the quarterback position guys well yes but this is one of those

Where you have to remind yourself that fantasy football and real football are so different yeah who would you say played better last night in real life stford Matthew dere car by quite a bit so he was quite a bit better perhaps a lot better than Derek Carr and Matthew Stafford turned in a

2072 Fantasy Point effort totally reasonable effort he’ll probably end up being a top 10 quarterback with that outing and yet Dar Carr currently pacing the week at 24.9 six fantasy points as garbage time treated Derek Carr very well but this is Matthew Stafford’s fourth game in five outings with 20 plus

Fantasy points this offense is just playing so well and I don’t we only have for one or two more weeks left over that like if Matthew Stafford is still available or he’s your backup quarterback he might be your starting quarterback in the fantasy finals Yeah

It’s Tricky cuz he had none of these the first 10 weeks of the Season he was completely useless we ranked him like 25th and now he’s been doing it week after week after week it’s kind of like almost like Joe flacko where it doesn’t feel sustainable no rushing and all the touchdowns for

The most part have been through the so I’m a little I’m going have a hard time ranking him higher than like the 10th to 12th range maybe and Reas I play next week but I think this kind yeah the Giants it’s a great match up so yesterday kind of makes your point

Though because it’s like I would say objectively that’s about as well as a quarterback could play and he scores 2.72 fantasy points nothing wrong with that right but like the chance of Derek Carr or a far inferior quarterback having more than 2.72 fantasy points is on the table because

There is zero rushing right like you you get a cheapo rushing touchdown and 25 rushing yards and you’re already at to eight and a half fantasy points just a different sort of Avenue uh for other quarterbacks to pass Matthew Stafford he’s playing really well that if you’re looking for 20 there’s a pretty

Reasonable chance he will give you that in part because he’s got an absolute Superstar at wide receiver that’s how the league has kind of changed in the last decade cuz 10 years ago there was only a few guys that really made a big difference with their legs now it’s

Almost everyone you’re kind of the exception if you’re Stafford or cousins or you know guys like that that like well he’s done he’s bounced back in that are he’s certainly done uh more with his legs when he’s been healthy but uh just just be basically a zero in that

Department is is kind of rare now it is uh but his wide receivers are the opposite of zero unala looked unreal last night honestly Cooper cup looked like he had a down game production-wise he still had 12 targets and he dropped a couple of touchdown two close touchdowns

Like you know I think I’ll be curious to see I’m not sure who is responsible for scoring drops versus not drops I felt like those were both balls that were like maybe 10% off Target and it it’s possible that Cooper cup hauls them in but uh it would have been two excellent

Catches but if he just has one of those yeah become a touchdown we feel a lot different about his night but if I told you he’s going to have 12 Targets in a rushing attempt you’d be saying I am starting Cooper cup but Buu is an amazing story we are talking about a

Player who in his rookie season is in the same breadth as Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase he’s going to end up likely surpassing both of their receiving yardage marks he’s already surpassed both of their reception total from their rookie seasons and he’s not going to catch Chase in touchdowns but he might

Surpass Justin Jefferson in touchdowns if you were to do a quick off the top of your head rookie I’m sorry Dynasty wide receiver ranks right now Mike is puka Neu a top three Dynasty wide out top three Dynasty wide out I don’t know probably not but close J and Jefferson

Are in there for sure AJ AJ Brown is obviously older but he’s in that conversation but yeah I would say top 10 I I just updated in the last two weeks so I’m not sure exactly where I put him but uh he’s in that conversation czy

Looks like the real deal he sure does as does his teammate KY Williams Daniel dude KY Williams looks fantastic as well the only thing that was frustrating about kyen Williams last night was the lack of passing game usage but we’ve seen this on a few occasions for him

This year right it’s like there are times where he’ll go like carries and zero targets or there are weeks where he will go 22 carries with five targets so hard to argue with the rush production and he’s just a really darn good player and 16.4 fantasy points is nothing to

Shake a stick at for kyen Williams but he has firmly entrenched himself as a top five running back every week maybe top two yeah speaking of Dynasty like Elite at this point by the way at Notre Dame he was outstanding his efficiency was off the TPS I I loved him all the

Way up until the combine and he was so slow like he was massive red flag his career is in Jeopardy he fell in the draft of course um as a result of that and he’s absolutely an outlier but he I mean I don’t know how you watch him and think

This guy’s not for real like he is he looks legit totally speaking of outliers I just want to say this really quickly why did you let me say that Alvin Kamar had scored double digit fantasy points in every game this year I jinxed it for everyone guys I’m sorry well his lowest

Finished in a week so far this season is rb19 and if you’re looking for a positive spin here currently rb2 on the week so it’s possible right now it’s going to require basically the worst week of fantasy scoring ever but who knows we might get that yeah it’s very

Possible but this Saints offense uh still I mean listen you’re playing CRA every single week still he ended up having a drive where he had four catches on the single drive he ended up with five catches last night right um a bad day at the office but Chris looked

Amazing last night and if not he had a couple of drops those yeah the same thing it was like that one was behind him that’s what I was thinking of when you were talking about cup it’s like is that a I know we’ll have to see how they

Score it but uh there was even more meat on the bone so to speak for Chris and yet he had nine catches for 123 yards he must have had what 16 targets I’m sorry 13 targets it felt like 16 uh 23.3 fantasy points his best in the game this

Season but this guy is so so good yeah he’s great uh another one of them Elite Dynasty wide receivers first round pick as the pedigree and has the production as the targets y everything’s been great the question is just like what’s the future of the quarterback position for

New Orleans so based off of his contract it’s gonna have to be Derek Carr again next year and he might be like he’s been so hurt this year too so many minor injuries moderate injury so rashed cheed by the way nine targets yep and a long touchdown and I thought yeah of course

We expected that against the secondary been hit for a bu totally y it’s a fun Thursday night game guys I had Shahed for first touchdown in this game he scored the second touchdown oh my gosh Mike get better at your job will you I’ll [Laughter] try back back here on fantasy Focus

Daniel do field jates and Mike Clay talking about our week 16 preview making sure that you are ready for the fantasy playoffs yeah we are guys let’s look at this Rashid rice ranking we’re at the spot now we were trying so hard to talk Rashid rice into existence now in week

16 fantasy playoffs everything is on the line we have him ranked as a top 10 wide receiver field and it’s very obvious to see why the volume has been unreal he is the number one pass catcher in this Chief’s offense right now nine plus targ in four straight games 32 catches over

Those past four games he has a touchdown in three of four games I don’t know why we like this one is a very much keep it simple he is the clearcut number one wide receiver maybe even number one pass catcher in this Chief’s offense which although it’s a much different version

Of the Chiefs offense if you’re the number one target for Patrick Mahomes you are generally speaking going to be a lineup lock hard to argue against that the Raiders have been stingy ER defensively than we expected Mike but no like Shadow opportunity coming here he’s probably going to be just fine again on

Monday yeah Raiders overall neutral against receivers but lately they’ve been poor six most fantasy points over the last month to the position so they’ve had some issues there Marcus Peters cut they brought in Jack Jones was cut by the the Patriots speaking of quarterback issues in New England

Goodness gracious all over the place but uh yeah look our I mean over the last month rice is third in fantasy points at receiver we might be too low at seven at this point but he definitely deserves this ranking and then it’s not just it’s not like it’s just been high volume in

This offense just cuz they like have extra plays or his Target share has been at least 26% in four straight too like it is a dedic they are dedicated to getting getting him the ball and also 92% of the snaps last week career high he’s an every down player now too on top

Of everything else so it’s it’s we’re off and running I will say this you know just because we mentioned like the future future rankings Dynasty I believe it was Adam tyer uh asked a question from Eric Moody about the future if he’s the one in it was like no probably not

Like he’s probably the two long term like we’re doesn’t have like the downfield speed rice like he’s I thought that was interesting that’s the only thing that like they could go big game hunting whether it’s in the draft or if they fall short this year yeah it is pretty

Clear that they’re going to address the offense more so than the defense and with Travis Kelce you know losing a step this year they’re going to have to be thinking about weapons whether it’s a player who you know by nominally is ahead of Rashid rice or not we’ll see but even if

He’s the number two like he’s way too good to have much lower of a ceiling than like I don’t know the 20th best receiver fo every year he should at least be the Devonte Smith to AJ Brown like that kind of dynamic looks like the

Real deal yeah I just want to list this really quickly because I know that we know how good Rashi rice has been but when you look at Chiefs wide receivers over the last month right Rashi rice has 32 receptions Travis Kelce has 21 yeah so he’s 11 more the next closest Chiefs

Patch catcher has six the incredible six C Believe It or Not Marquez Val scandling has negative catches during that time Mike’s negative two that SP unkind unkind but then again you’re allowed to do that I should have did cadar gonna say wasn’t cadarius Tony the negative catches the obvious yard

Yeah hey let’s talk about James Cook guys because since Joe Brady took over as the offensive coordinator Mike Clay it feels like we have seen a different James Cook in this bills offense do you think that this is something sustainable because we’ve been talking I talked with

Field about this before the show the bills felt like for the last little bit have not known how use running backs for us in fantasy and over the last month it’s like oh shoot they’re finally starting to figure out do you expect this to continue yeah uh I do for James

Cook it’s funny Deon Singletary is getting similar treatment in Houston now that was what Daniel was talking about yeah right so and now of course uh cook cook getting in here yeah L four games with Joe Brady 24.1 fantasy points per game only two running backs and more fantasy points Christian mcaffrey and
