The exact yeah I mean time applies in in in the fishing world for us so I’m going to say four or five years ago roughly but it was something like that and ever since uh that acquisition you know um the uh the opportunity to move over to
The Bass Pro side of things is has kind of been kind of been on the radar but it it it it finally come together and we are we are going to be be representing Bass Pro Shops in 2024 and and I tell you that that it’s kind of cool cuz for
Me I’ll tell you a quick story I won’t take up too much time doing this but so Brian knows because him and I are close to the same age he’s he’s older but we’re close to the same age and I’m not that much old how much older are you two
Years are you 44 yeah okay you’re two years older than me okay uh when he’s got more gray hair he’s got way more gray hair I do I do when when we were 8 n 10 years old Brian I were probably very similar to that we both lived and breed fishing
Bass fish that’s all we cared to do that’s all we wanted to do we got up and watched Bass Masters on TNN cuz it was like the only when I was that age you you remember the big fat book bash Pro used to S the master catalog the M the
Master that was my Sears and robu catalog from way back in the day like that was like I would just sit there and stare at that like every page of the bash FR shop so from and cirle stuff I wanted you know you’re like n years old
Like you don’t have any money but you serve like I’m going get this I’m going get this so from elementary school all the way up and through high school that’s all I did like that beside my bed at home growing up was the B like the
Bass Pro Shops Master catalog like a lot of kids probably had Sports Illustrated and stuff like that not me I had the bass swimsuit edition man yeah well I might have had the swimsuit edition in high school but but other than that it’s usually best pro shots Master catalog
And I had the hunting one too you know there’s a hunting and the fishing but on top of that for I was around I want to say eight or nine years old exactly but the only Bass Pro Shops anywhere close to Shelby North Carolina was in where do
You remember Springfield Missouri no is Atlanta I didn’t know that okay so that that was the closest one around when we were kid than you yeah that’s true so it was in Atlanta Georgia that was the closest one to here which is about a three and a half hour drive from
Shelby and like the only thing I wanted for my birthday for several years was just to go to a basketball Pro sh like just to go to Bass Pro shots and for somewhere around my eighth or nth birthday I didn’t own a bait caster at the time yet but I had obviously circled
Every single one in the bast C that I wanted which was all of them uh but Dad we went down to Atlanta and got a hotel room for one night and we got to Bass Pro when they open I don’t know if it’s was 8: or 9 in the morning but my poor
Dad watched me walk up and down the same the same aisles for like 12 hours oh I guarantee it and finally he got me a bait casting combo for my birthday and we drove back to Shelby that night but I was literally in that store for eight or
10 hours and I know my dad thought I was crazy but I was cuz I’d look at the same I’d pick up like I’d pick up like the same rod and reel 72 times yeah and then I’d go down the b a big purchase you don’t know what like at that age you
This was back before the internet search engines and all that this is the smt scotter he said Bass Pro did have Uncle Buck so Uncle Buck was like the like the OG would you call it the Bass Pro mascot yeah Uncle Buck was the Bass Pro mascot but well that’s
Their brand for like all of their like a lot of their food products beef jerky jerky peanuts things like that so they did have they’ve always had Uncle Buck Uncle Buck was like like have always been there always been I remember back when I was little and you’d go to them
And they’d have the little shooting things you know you’d put the quarter in and you’d shoot dude I forgot about that dude that was my favorite I forgot about that is that the one where you tried to blow the little uh star out on the paper
Or no it had it had had little animatronic things fair is the one where you had to shoot the star so all these little animatronic things and you’d shoot them and like little bears move and stuff like it was awesome I forgot about that whenever I see I still play

I was just like I was on Cloud9 and I and I looking at this I mean you know how you were when you were a kid like even going to a local tackle store when you’re growing up and all you all you want to do is bass fish like you you
Look at the same stuff over and over and over and over again you know and now we’re like we try to avoid them because we spend thousands of dollars or hundreds of dollars every time we go in one exactly cuz you can never have too much tackle right but uh yeah that’s a
Fond memory uh with my dad when I was a kid of of going to that for my birthday present and spending literally all day in the Bas Road just walking up and down the fishing AES walking up and down the fishing AES and now we’re fortunate enough to have one
Here in Concord North Carolina which is only about well an hour away give her take TR minutes and uh there’s of course there’s multiple ones in the Carolinas we got one down in carry I think there’s one uh where else is there one there’s several Cabellas also there’s a Cabellas
Down in uh near Carowinds um but yeah we we’ we’ve got several close to the house now where we don’t have to get a hotel and drive three and a half hours just to go to Bass Pro Shops anymore uh but anyway yeah so excited to be joining up
With Bass Pro for 2024 it’s a great partnership um and looking forward to that and and it’s a good fit you know with with Toyota and Ranger and and um you know all the opportunities there I’m looking forward to that very much uh but other than that that’s the only change
Only major change for me I will be switching over to their reels um as I will be um leaving lose which uh We’ve also hinted recently that we’re going to be building some custom Mattery signature fishing rods in 2024 we hope to launch those at the classic um that
Will not be with uh the bestass program but that will be with uh PTZ which is one of my other sponsors we actually we should have those prototypes in any day now so we’re we’re working on developing that right now um but we will keep you posted um when we have more information
On that all right 2023 in review Brian yes obviously you had a phenomenal 2023 you know it was good it with the red Crest dub and uh obviously you know the the uh the you know you’re you had to be top I’m G to say top three or four in
Winnings this year probably first you think probably well that’s CA the classic pays the same thing as the red Crest yeah so whoever well yeah cuz CU if you win red Crest that puts you I mean that puts you right there at the top immediately um I said top three or
Four you said probably first I just felt like he just made me feel like an ID I mean I don’t know I don’t know for sure but no you’re right I mean cuz even if a guy won two or three tour level events he’s still not
Going to be there cuz you had a good year on tour also um God who wanton to CL oh it was Gussy gusy won the classic that’s right so um yeah and Gussy gets a free ticket back cuz gusy just misqu ifying for the classic through the
Season he really but as a classic champ you get to go back get to defend your title so give me some obviously winning red Crest but give me something crazy or different or well obviously the industry changes you know we’ve had y’all have had multiple changes with BP um but
Anything uh crazy that’s happened this year to you on tour or some of the most memorable moments how about that obviously red Chris well yeah I mean that’s that’s like it was still have to think back whether you know did that really happen or not I’m going to say
Probably the craziest thing that happened was at Heavy Hitters when we were at the the little on the championship round yeah you you talking about when you caught $100,000 bass yes was the only one you caught that day yes yeah okay that’s pretty crazy that’s
What I’m saying like so we had a whole episode dedicated to this just about because he literally caught one fish all day that was worth $100,000 but give a I caught more than one but I caught one scorable bass all day long well that’s in that format it was only scorable bass
But give them a quick rundown of that day I mean y’all can go back and watch this episode not sure which one it was but um but yeah give I think it just aired on TV too or it’s in the process of airing the the show I don’t know if
They’ve aired the championship round yet or not but um did we just lose camera there we go all the lights went off I was looking at which camera to look at and none of them had a light on and it was confusing me you just keep talking I’m just got
This I’m just gonna keep talking so anyway it at Heavy Hitters the championship round um we’re on the this Lake that’s full of giants like same like we fished the previous year Randy caught like a 13 pounder and just numerous eights and nines and so I’m geared up fishing for B
I’m like you know I’m going fish for big bites and I’m flipping along flipping along and everybody’s catching fish Brian’s catching nothing and then I finally get a bite and it’s got jerk and it flies all the way over the side of the boat it’s like a two pounder they
Had to be three lb to be scorable you know it’s a good Lake when a scorable fish has to hit the three lb Mark yeah yeah the scoreable bass has to be a 3 pounder and like that’s small like it they could have made the scoreable bass
5 lbs on this place so it was kind of tough for me like i’ only had four or five bites no no scorable I’m in last place and like I’m kind of getting down and starting to get frustrated but I I remember you know you can catch one and
I can win more money than the guy that wins the tournament yeah that’s kind of so that kind of keeps you in the game a little bit more mentally and I’m flipping all these shallow pretty green bushes and I’m looking around small lakes only 2,000 acres and you can see a
Lot of competitors they’re fishing flipping a lot of the same type cover up shallower you know four to 5et deep and I’m not getting bit when I do is small so I’m looking out behind me there’s like all these dead trees that are sticking up out in like 9t of water
Don’t have any leaves like just the ugliest piece of cover you’d ever want to fish when you’ve got all these pretty green willow bushes I’m like I’m going to go out here and try some of this nobody’s doing it maybe I’ll catch a big one and like the second one I flip into
I get a bite and I set the hook and it BS me up and I lose it I’m like dang that felt like a good fish and then I’m kind of like well I don’t know if it was an accident or if it’s luck or we’re
Gonna do it for a little bit anyways then like two trees later I flip in it and I catch a 96 and that ends up being a $100,000 bass so one one big fish landed all day long W $100,000 had a good time in Louisiana
And uh ready to get rolling for the next year I’d say that was probably the weirdest strangest day I fished all year so as far as the um BP in review this year too overall Money winner sitting right here r crash Champion heavy hiter heavy hiters heavy uh I guess not
Champion did you win more money than anybody else there I did win the most money you’re the Heavy Hitters champion in my book I mean that’s that’s you always say that’s the way I look at it you always say you just mean I don’t
Have the title I do have a trophy I got a trophy from the heavy hitter would you rather have the big trophy from Heavy Hitters or the $100,000 for the fish well they both pay the same no the the winner of the tournament gets the biggest trophy right yeah but he gets
100,000 too oh okay okay I’m sorry I thought he got like 75 but see I got 100,000 plus the Ninth Place money so you got more than the winner yes well there you go exactly so would you rather Ninth Place money or first place in that
Trophy I would rather catch one bass and finish 10th on the championship heavy every year every perfect perfect uh y’all in the meantime do do shoot some questions here we we’ll take some questions at the end of the show like we always do we’ll try to leave 5 or 10

To address this because I just saw this on social media today so y’all know kind of the recent um progression of things over there was there were the plan was to cut to 50 anglers in 2025 2025 so proceed as planed cut roughly 30 Anglers I’m just throwing that’s not exact but
Roughly 30 Anglers get down to the 50 angler field for 2025 and then move on um but you know more about this than I do probably because you’re in the loop more I just saw what I saw on social media but explain the the change that they’ve made
Now right so when MLF first announced the change that they were going to cut to you know pretty much cut half the field going into 2025 because they want to get the field narrowed down to 50 Anglers just a smaller field with an increased payout um obviously a lot of Anglers
Were upset and it’s understandable because you know you’re pretty much getting fired no other way to put it I mean yeah there’s no other way to put I me I mean not really getting fired you can step down to you know fish The Tackle Warehouse invitationals or something
Like that so you’re not really getting fired between getting demoted opportunity to still fish you still got the opportunity you talking about a lot some some guys that been fishing for 205 20 25 years that are so established with sponsor branding and things like that it

Lot of factors this year was pretty crazy um with weather you know we had some cancellation days I saw some waves at Champlain that I never hope I see again saw some waves on Ontario that I hope I never see again but U that is
Part of what we do unfortun had a couple really good days on Ontario too didn’t you um yeah yeah we had I mean you know when you’re there for a week you’re going to have a few good and a few bad days but over overall look we all
Survived bass made some calls some tough calls on some cancellation days and things and I I’m 100% behind when they make those calls because I always say better safe and sorry um but you know there’s there’s a lot of there’s a lot of variables that go into that too you
Know you got to remember that we have live coverage on Fox Sports you know and that’s part of the whole thing you know the the whole uh the whole program of what we do so that’s uh that’s that has to be taken into consideration along

Pranks you’ll never see because it’s it’s like it’s either too vulgar or or somebody does it to somebody then they don’t want certain things you know but anyway um going to St Lawrence River this year we are there and canterberry is like the prank King he always can
Come up with some of the best stuff and best ideas but he uh oh yeah by the way canterbury’s on a cruise right now with with Scott Suggs and and and his wife and like the last thing I saw about crues they were like fighting 10 foot
Waves off the coast of Florida and stuff like that so Scott buddy I hope you’re hanging in there not getting seasick on your cruise but canterbury’s always got these great ideas but one thing he did the uh was cookies I’m trying to think what I was mad about cookies I’m trying
To think what that was Fred but they they played oh they played a a prank on me where they took a I’ll tell a couple pranks cuz this is these are always you know I mean honestly they’re great memories on the Road right but I did get
A little upset about a couple things one thing was Scott we caught some walleye when we were up at uh Tyler’s already laughing and I I got legitimately mad about this CU I want oh you’d have lost your mind see that’s what I was going to ask you I
Was like has it ever been a prank where like you you was mad and you was contemplating some type of Revenge oh I’m always contemplating Revenge but th this prank I know how particular you are about your stuff oh yeah am too but this prank would have sent you over the edge
So I W so we caught some Walley some nice keeper Walley at St Clair and we always keep them canberries a heck of a cook you know and he’ll fillet them out and he’s cleaned a thousand fish he can clean them faster than all of us put
Together and he uh the fart spray was a good one too Baron and get get to that one in a minute but I’ll tell a couple of the pranks just cause this was these were these were good these were good times on the road in 2023 but one this
Was not as much of a prank as they just set me up to look like a an a-hole on on camera when I walked outside cuz they knew I’d be pissed off about this oh God canterbury’s out there cleaning the walleye on my trailer step talking about
This on my trailer step on my Ranger on my Ranger Boat he’s cleaning walleye on my boat trailer like on the that must been a little walleye cuz that step’s not very big I mean they were like you know I don’t know 20 something inchers but the the Little Steps like no it’s
Like that bit the front step on the trailer oh the front step okay I’m thinking a little step on the that would have been like those would been illegal while I yeah that would been like like long he could we did have a nice perch
In that bag too but I go out there and he’s literally fing him and I I see him cut his eyes and then I realized I’m being videoed know I still got mad though like I was I was furious and I mean there there’s a table sitting over
Here to his left so I know they’re doing it on purpose right like I know he’s doing it just to make me mad so I I didn’t get too fired up but I got kind of fired up but knowing I was on camera I didn’t say everything I really wanted
To say um but anyway so the fart spray was that Scott Martin did this to me so he bought everybody’s seen the little farts break in you can buy so did you I want to see I want to hear about the Revenge from the walleye well I don’t
Have to do anything back to uh well Canterbury dude everybody’s kind of scared to prank Canterbury why cuz he he’ll come back with like tenfold like I I just kind of stay out they prank me every once you’re like there’s no end to it like somebody’s got to be the
End uh yeah I’m kind of the end like when they prank me I just let it I just let it go see I would have took like the Wy carcasses and put him in his live wheel when he went through boat chck well yeah I should have done that now I
I I encourage those two to prank each other yeah I’m like the I’m like the the the manipulator you know like so you a it on yeah exactly exactly and of course I get pranked in the meantime but Scott took Martin Hollywood took fart spray and sprayed it all over this paper towel
Like and you know like you can spray that stuff one time inside a room and it’s like it’s everywhere it’s awful and he sprayed it on his paper towel and he went we were staying at the claran club down at Santi Cooper and he put it
Underneath the bed in my room oh my God so when I walked in there dude I was like and I knew somebody had done something yeah and I was I got sincerely mad about that because I wasn’t thinking he put it on a paper towel or a napkin
Or something I was thinking spr it smell like he spr you know how strong it is it smell like he sprayed it on my pillow or my sheets and dude I was I was mad and I walked in his room and I like I mean I
Was I was I was almost fighting mad cuz I’m like I can’t SLE I can’t sleep in this freaking bed tonight dude like it smells so bad I can’t even walk in there and then he goes in there finally mco’s filming H laughing you know he finally
Goes in there and he he he gets down his knees and he reaches under the bed and he pulls that paper towel out with it and when he took that paper towel out dude it all but went completely away that’s pretty just about all it just about completely went away which was
Pretty amazing but but the best the best prank of 2023 was Canterbury showed up to the St Lawrence River Event with some I untearable toilet paper oh like you couldn’t tear it you cannot tear it it’s like Kevlar and he’s got this and it looks real like it looks
Like a real roll of toet paper looks perfect so it’s like the wrapping paper some people use at Christmas it’s you can’t rip correct yeah yeah gotcha so we took that and put it in in Hollywood’s bathroom and took all the other toilet paper well so cybery had a good idea we
Took the real toilet paper and we put it underneath the cabinet in there because once he started screaming that he couldn’t tear the toilet paper nobody wanted to go in there and actually take him toilet paper good point so we put real toilet paper in there
But he goes in there and we know he’s going in there he shuts the door behind him and he kind of he was kind of rushing in there so we figured he had to oh he was he was on dire streets yeah he was on dire streets for whatever reason
We might have just I don’t know we might have just eating pizza or something whatever whatever it was and he he he starts uh he starts heading in there and he shuts the door course soon as he shuts the door camera starts running and
Dude you can hear him and this is on the YouTube channel if you look up the uh Scott Martin’s YouTube it’s on the St Lawrence event it’s on the tournament Vlog I don’t know if it’s on the practice of the tournament one but it it’s on one of those you you can see
This this scene in there and you hear him start screaming and you hear something from the bathroom he’s like what the hell is this and he’s in there trying to tear this toilet paper and he cannot tear it like he’s like man he said somebody needs to bring me some scissors or
Something and we’re out there can laughing hard he can’t even stand up and Mccoy’s filming and McCoy luckily McCoy doesn’t have to hold the camera staty all he’s got to do is you just got to be able to hear what Scott’s yelling and I’m just I’m in the den sitting on the
Couch just dying laughing so anyway finally told him where the toilet paper was where they had hidden it in the bathroom so he could get it actual toilet paper but yeah that was a so y’all spend like a third of your time practicing for event trying to figure

Like have you ever seen have you ever seen a a have anybody ever showed you how to do I don’t know a russan push-up or something like that no and Scott Martin gets down on his hands and knees and he’s like all right he’s like and he had
His legs back and he’s like all right Dylan come here I’m going to show you how to do it and Dylan’s like okay of course Dylan should have known something was up McCoy’s over here filming and he’s like all right so so so grab my legs like and put them on your shoulder
