Steeler safety Damonte KZ uh suspended rest of the season it unfortunate man KZ was suspended for the remainder of the 2023 season after his illegal helmet to helmet hit on Colts wide receiver Michael Pitman Jr during the Steelers Colts game I’m not gonna lie I have not

Seen this hit I mean it’s a tough it’s a tough play it is a nasty hit it’s a nasty hit because he gets folded up and it kind of I mean he’s just he’s in the air diving for the ball yeah but he’s not what do you expect the

Guy to do here just let him catch the ball and not try and hit him or not make a play on him I don’t know like did he he did he hit him with the crown of his helmet not so much did he duck his head yeah a little

Bit I just I don’t know what you want a safety to do here other than just let him catch the ball you know I I think he’s he’s going in for you know him to break up the pass it’s just so hard I don’t think it should be the rest of the

Season I don’t think this was an intentional I’m trying to hurt this guy well that’s where I’m at it doesn’t look like he was intentionally trying to do this to him yeah I think this is I think that’s a bit much man but the issue with

That is like is there like a track record here because a lot of the times when these decisions get made it’s because there’s like multiple occurrences of something but just based on that hit alone obviously it’s a penalty obviously there’s going to be repercussions for it even though it’s

Unintentional you know what I mean like unfortunately it’s just one of the things of the game the safy is trying to make a play on the ball the receiver’s trying to make a play on the ball and you know the receiver gets the benefit of the doubt in today’s league and I

Think it’s probably for the betterment of all of our players health and safety that they do yeah but I also don’t think anything of KZ for doing that I mean it just me that’s not something a tough football play I mean you get you get caught in some bad position on the

Compromising situations sometimes and it is what it is it’s football I just think and Brady commented on it and said to put the blame on the defensive player all the time is just flat out wrong I agree with that man yeah there’s just some s some situations in football you

Can’t can’t avoid and we all signed that line that says we can get injured playing this game um so I just I don’t know I think it’s not worthy of a the rest like a the rest of the season um suspension but I don’t know yeah well I

Think if this was a one-time offense I think this wouldn’t be as a a end of the season suspension if you look at John rion’s quote when players violate the rules intended to protect player safety on a repeated basis in particularly when the violations carry with them a

Significant risk of injury to the opposing player is appropriate to impose substantially greater penalties so it’s pretty clear here I don’t know how many times KZ is but it’s happened before but this is a repeated instance and I think that that’s why that’s what he’s saying

Yeah the penalty is as great as it is cuz just on that hit alone obviously that’s going to be enforced yeah uh but it didn’t look like that was an intentional thing but if there are I mean that’s the way it works if you do things over and over again Defender man

Yeah always get hit twice as hard but I do agree with Brady you know some ownership has to be put on the quarterback uh to to try and protect your teammates as well we’ve all seen Julian edelman’s highlight tape I was about to say qu come from Brady Tom we

Don’t want to go there Tom Tom’s been killing him man I don’t care what anybody says he’s he’s creating some great conversations out here some great combos man at the end of the day we just got to know who you can put in that compromised situation jewes is

As tough as they come gr is as tough as they get dude both of them are you kidding me and sure enough they’re Hall of Famers because of It Hey hey

  1. Football is broken. It makes me sad. I'm all for safety and it was absolutely a penalty but come on. It's still a contact sport and players have to respond in a fraction of a second. We can slow down the tape all we want, but when you're playing, everything happens in a split second.

  2. Yes he has been fined before but for hits that are questionable. Your favorite DBs and linebackers from the 90s and early 2000s would be kicked out the league with today's officiating. No way even the legion of Boom exists today. Brian Dawkins would be in jail. Ray Lewis would have gotten the death penalty, Suggs would be suspended half the year, Ed Reed could never have been considered a ball hawk with the way you get penalized now.

  3. Can I just say, I'm pretty sick of Brady constantly slamming EVERYTHING QBs do? There isn't a single game he comments on, or a single team, that he doesn't take a dig at the QBs. It's like, since he's gone, there isn't a QB out there that measures up to him. He was a great QB, but I never saw a QB who whined as much as him, or threw teammates under the bus like him. He won't be happy until he has ground Patrick Mahime's name into the ground, because he knows MVPAT is gunning for ALL of Brady's stats. Feck him! I'm not interested in ANYTHING he has to say!

  4. The NFL is soooo inconsistent, is very frustrating! The hitnwasnt intentional. He has been hit with questionable fines all year. What are safeties supposed to do???

  5. defenseless receiver, hit the player in the head. it's targeting times 10. What's he supposed to do? Not hit the guy in the head. He didn't make a play on the ball, he made a play on the receiver. And while tom's point is somewhat true, it does not absolve the defensive player whatsoever. Conscious choice to lower the crown.

  6. Its football has become so soft. I'm all about player safety. But, it has gotten ridiculous. Within 3 years they will replace the pads with flags.

  7. Watched an earlier clip of these two shooting the s*&t on a light hearted topic and had a few laughs. Saw this one, on a more serious issue, and they handled it with the respect, thoughtfulness, and candor that it deserved. I appreciate that we have two top tier active NFL pros doing their day job while providing regular content of this high quality. Much respect.

  8. I'm not even sure if it should be a penalty at all, never mind a season long suspension. Looked like he was trying to hit shoulder to chest/shoulder.

  9. It’s tough. He is a repeat offender, but I would prefer him to be put on training and learn a better way to tackle the suspension. So e of these situations I think he would of been better off doing nothing, which isn’t good either.

  10. I am 72 years old, and my husband bought for me Jason's jersey for Christmas. We served four years in Philadelphia (my husband was in the US Navy). We had a daughter born there.
So he bought me a Jason Jersy for Christmas. He is from Kansas City, Missouri. He is Kansas City all the way. I love you Jason. You are number 1 in my 72 year old brain.
Would love to buy the energy drinks, we have no Target in Macon, Georgia.

  11. I think this is one of the Downfalls of having slow mo replay it’s easy for something to appear intentional when it’s slowed way down but in reality when somebody is coming full speed the human body can’t react quick enough at the last moment it’s the definition of a bang bang play sounds like somebody had a axe to grind even being tossed from the game would’ve seemed excessive but the rest of the year? That’s rough. On the other hand I am a lifelong bengals fan so it’s a little advantageous for m us but I don’t agree with it obviously not knowing if that’s really the only thing that caused it.

  12. Just this year he has had 5 safety violations: 1 in Sept & Oct, 2 in Nov and now this one. I hear what Travis is saying but again this was the 5th one. I do agree with Tom Brady, that the QB has responsibility on the placement of his throw.

I love Tom Brady! But never been a Pats fan. Niners and Steelers are my favs. I have several copies of an Eagles team photo from years ago my stepdad dad left me. Tom’s a super human with his nutrition and how he cares for his body which is why he had such a successful career as QB.

I’m actually glad the NFL now takes head injuries more seriously because post concussion syndrome has been prevalent in a lot of players. Remember Junior Seau? Around the time he took his own life there were 8 NFL players who also died by their own hand or because they were being crazy and someone else (police) had to stop them. I can’t remember if it was Seau or someone else who shot himself in the heart and left his head/brain intact so it could be studied cuz he had suffered from depression and other issues from multiple head hits for so long. Now don’t hate me for this one, but
consuming alcohol after having one’s head banged around a lot is not advisable. Many players have committed acts of DV with no prior incidents of violence but after a few bops to the head and heavy alcohol consumption, they beat up a wife or gf or someone else and get arrested. I never hear the association of the two within the profession, but there are experts on brain neuroplasticity who discuss the harms of it out there in the medical field. Brain health expert, Dr. Daniel Amen has said if you want your brain to be as healthy as it can be you should never drink alcohol amongst other things he advises. I believe it’s the individuals right to drink alcohol if they choose but they should be informed of the negative consequences to the brain in particular when it comes to playing in sports. Be nice if the NFL players were encouraged to limit alcohol consumption during the season although unlikely due to post game parties after a win. I’ve had a lot of alcoholism in my family in both my parents AND my step dad and saw how crazy it made them at times so I know I can be a nag about it, but I also lost my first born son to a drug overdose 5 years ago so I’ve had a lot of real life trauma experience with drinking and drugs. When it comes to football injuries, my nephew almost died playing in high school when he was hit all at once from 3 players from the opposing team. His head and neck were snapped backwards and he fell to the ground in convulsions. My bro in law thought he broke his neck, but he ended up having a hematoma on the brain from it. They med evacuated him from the field to the closest trauma hospital where they did surgery. On the ride in the chopper they were losing him. He’s fortunate he survived. Players from that team came to see him in the hospital and all wanted to quit the team cuz their coach was having them do illegal hits to players on other teams. He was fired after the incident with my nephew. So yeah, when I think about helmets hitting heads and necks, I think about how much trauma that is to the brain and it makes me think about shaken baby syndrome how infants have tragically died or suffered life altering consequences from brain injury. The brain is nothing to mess with when it comes to the head and neck being banged around. So it’s nothing to take lightly and I’m happy to see much more awareness in the NFL.

On this instance, it was the culmination of his violations that brought about the suspension steep as it may be, but…

Sorry for such a long winded rant. It’s just something I’m very passionate about after doing massage for 20+ years professionally. It almost hurts me to see Jason move around cuz I can tell he is in a lot of pain most of the time. Travis has had a lot of injuries and surgery but he doesn’t have the extra weight on him that Jason does. (Sorry Jason buddy, but my weight is considered obese and I have way too much body fat that makes for a lot of aches and pains on top of injuries that I’ve had so I know how much my weight affects my ability to move through life. I’ve dropped some of my belly fat recently and boy what a difference just a 15 -20 lb weight loss does for things like bending over to reach my toes! I can actually get there now. I’m on a mission to get down another 50-60 lbs to the weight I was at 40-50 years old when I ran, swam and jogged every day and did massage on people twice my size often.

Ok I better shut up my fingers here and quit tapping’ at ya’ll. Hope I didn’t get too carried away! Love your YT channel/podcast! Loved your documentary! Love the whole Kelce gang! Sorry for the outrageous paparazzi crap you’re having to deal with so much, but I’m a total Swiftie fan these days & I happen to feel the world is a better place with her presence in it along with all of you guys, so hang in there!

  13. Repeating offender… but you know you guys play the game if you only wanna drink out of a straw after you hit 30 it’s your call.

  14. Lol. This Dude is an Idiot. YOU CANT LEAD WITH YOUR HEAD!!!! It's not the first time he's made a hit like this. He has been fined So Many times for these kinds of hit.

  15. Travis Kelce is 'one of the world's biggest pieces of s***' for promoting Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine, while the NBA's Kyrie Irving was wrongly vilified for opposing the jab, says UFC star Colby Covington after his latest loss

  16. Old lady Swifty here, who hadn’t watched football since the Bears went to the Super Bowl with The Super Bowl Shuffle. I am shocked at how much football has changed! I get it, player safety blah, blah blah, but dang, it’s football! They are about one “player safety rule” from it just being a dance off!

  17. I agree with the thoughts put forth. However, the f-bombs lower the professionalism and credibility of statements. Clean it up and the views go up!

  18. Tom said QBs shouldn't throw hospital balls. But like it or not, for the sake of player safety, the game has changed, and defensive players can't lay out hospital hits. You just can't hit like that anymore. And if you do hit the offensive players' heads, intentional or not, you are going to get flagged and fined. You have to tackle with control and not just flick the hit stick. Sure, that makes it easier for the offense, but that's the game today, and it's not going back to the way it was.

  19. Its football and we all know what we sign up for. This needs to stop. Some things are quite literally unavoidable.
