Add Spin

Add Spin

Here is a few aspects to remember when trying to generate spin around the greens.

The grooves are important to increase friction. Clean your fricking grooves before you hit your chip/ pitch.

Opening the club slightly is something we’ve talked about before. The added loft allows you to use more speed. Too much loft doesn’t allow for as much friction. Opening the club just a few degrees puts you in that happy medium where you can generate the most spin.

Hitting down on ball helps create spin due to the difference in loft to attack angle. Think about this, with a driver you hit up a few degrees with a small about of loft. As a result the ball doesn’t spin very much. In the opposite sense a lofted wedge and hitting down into the ball generates more spin.

Add spin to your pitches step one you need to clean your grooves to help generate the spin step two you need to open the club face slightly and step three you need to have a steeper attack angle put it all together and now you know how to
