Golf grip tip for the right hand

Golf grip tip for the right hand. Generally, I think the left-hand grip is most important. That is, unless the right hand is in an extreme position. In lessons, I see golfers adjust their right-hand grip to fix a slice — but the correction they make just exacerbates the shot. In this video, I show you how to position the right hand correctly on the club.

Hello I’m Su shapot from change golf instruction and today I’m in Madison Wisconsin and this video is going to be about the right hand in the swing and the problem if it gets too weak too much to the left at the setup position all right so generally I’m a

Big fan of getting the left hand correct when you set up and of course I’m talking about right hand golfers so apologies if you’re a lefty um and getting the the Top Hand the left hand correct I think is most important rarely do I do much with the right hand unless

It’s causing some problems in the swing and one of the biggest problems that I see when I do see it is that when players get the right hand too much over the top so they get the whole Palm too much to the left so the the right hand hand starts looking like this

Now that causes a couple of problems one is that when the right hand is over so much then it can contribute to the club face stay in opener impact so it can create a bit of a slice or some spin to the right with your shot so alone that’s

Not a great thing but almost worse than that or compound in that is that if my right hand is too much over the setup position then my right arm comes forward and my shoulders open and start pointing to the left if my shoulders point to the left then that’s going to encourage a

Swing path that very much goes down to the left and over the top swing path so combine that with a more open sub face and you’re going to get a Big Slice on the ball so getting the right hand over the top isn’t really going to fix anything it’s

Just going to give you a tendency to block the face open open the shoulders get your swing path going down to the left and creating too much of the slice so the correct hand position for your right hand should be where it just sits underneath the

Left hand as a good rule of thumb this thumb between the or this V between the thumb and the four finger should point up towards your right shoulder and the Palm is just covering the the left hand thumb but it’s not covering it with the

Whole um the whole right hand so if you are trying to fix something in your swing by getting your right hand over the top then I would suggest to not do that just get your right hand in a neutral position there may be other causes um to the problem that you’re

Trying to fix um because by getting that right hand right over the top you’re just going to create more problems for yourself anyway I hope that’s helpful gives you something to think about in your golf swing um please check out some of our other videos and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel he
