I KNEW for a fact that he was going to be a bust. @t.k.1319 Spot on. I listened to all the fawning and couldn't believe my ears…it's like going all in on a bling drop in poker…it's stupid, reckless and probably going to result in you losing your money. We are talking about sacrificing millions and years of time for a product you don't even have reviews on, or has never been purchased by another customer. Ridiculous! They lucked out with Purdy. The 49ers got really lucky that Purdy somehow as the last pick of the draft is a good QB. Otherwise this Trey Lance bust would have hurt them even more.
I can't say he's the biggest bust of all time, not even the biggest at 3 overall. Anyone remember Akili Smith? He was I believe 2 or 3 and was supposed to bring the Bengals 2 maybe 3 Super Bowls. His 1st NFL start came at NO he went 11/43 113 yds 0 TD's 4 INT and it was all over because he blew his knee in the 3rd qt of a 44 – 3 washing by a team who at the time were considered one of the worst teams in the NFL. Lance could move WR/QB/RB and be a nightmare with his speed another slash maybe he's just not an NFL starting QB I wanted Chace could you imagine Chace, Ayuk and big D you can't control that kind of WR talent you shut one down one of them OK so you still have to deal with the other 2 and Kit's a rout freak so yea could have been crazy to watch….

How about when the Saints gave up first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh-round picks in that year's draft and a first and third-round pick in 2000, to draft just one player, Ricky Williams???? I would never have drafted him so high. Watching his experience at college no way I'm trading up for him.
I kinda feel bad for Lance, he needed 3 years in college to build some confidence.. Maybe his accuracy isn't a good as the scouts thought. His short game bites. He hopefully made enough money to secure his financial future for the rest of his life if the NFL does not work out. I sometimes wonder how that amount of money on a contact messes with these guys, they aren't hungry financially.
