The Gunners’ title bid ended with a limp 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on Saturday as Pep Guardiola’s side were crowned Premier League champions for the fifth time in six years.

Arsenal were eight points clear of City earlier this season and topped the table for 248 days over the course of the campaign, but their challenge collapsed with a run of only two wins from eight games.

Darren Lewis & Melissa Reddy discussed what went wrong for Arsenal towards the end of the Premier League season and the quality of Pep Guardiola’s side.

  1. Yeah yeah. Just let this cheating club win all trophies every season. What's the point of competition? There is no competition. Remember Lance Armstrong!

  2. What I don't understand is:
Why does no one care about Liverpool cheating? (hacking into City's scouting data base)
Why does no one care about Chelsea cheating? (they didn't have a transfer ban for no reason)
Why does no one care that Leicester breached FFP after massive investment to win the league only 7 years after being in the Championship?
But when the PL throws a million charges at City to postpone the Government's white paper, everyone calls them "cheaters"?
Some of the charges are as benign as the grass being too long 10 years ago.
Some of the charges are regarding "breaches" that are only retroactive breaches based on rules that were implemented after the fact.
The financial breaches include City paying Mancini a bit more under the table – which is a breach, for sure, but not a game breaking one.
All of the charges are before Pep's time.
    And nothing is proven yet.

Still, everyone acts like City have been proven to have bought the refs for literally every game for the past 6 years.
Let's be real. It's just hate.

  3. the one simple fact they are not talking about is man city does not have the fan base for this level of success unlike man utd that can spend that big money because they bring in big money , Man city can only spend this amount cause they use the revenue from over priced sponsorships paid by the very people that own the club to balance the books, it must be costing them billions to keep man city a float its just a bottomless pit of money if the owners were to leave the club would be in league 1 again if it would even still exist

  4. It's a sad state of affairs when a club, along with the complicity of the powers that be, are obliged to invent fake rivals to keep the competition alive when, in fact it is a foregone conclusion before the season even kicks off. The PL is well on the way to ending up like the French Ligue 1. Dead.

  5. It’s funny how they try to build this mythology that Pep and his team are somehow immune to pressure. They are not “monsters”. Lol. It’s the same when they tried to build up with Daniel Levy as some transfer maestro when he was not, as it has come to be clearly evidently so. Laporte said it himself, he felt relief more than joy winning because of the immense pressure. I don’t think he’s the rare exception at City.

Take nothing away from City’s achievement. But results and pressure are not as linked as they tout nor imagine

  6. CHELSEA SPENT OVER 600 MILLION GUESS WHAT IT DIDNT DO ANYTHING PSG SPENT MORE NO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL MAN UNITED BOUGHT ANTONY 90 MILLION

  7. Can the media just SHUT UP about the charges…talk about it when its proven or dismissed at court !!!

  8. I think manchester city spent much much much pounds in 14yrs ago to getting aguero, silva, tevez, dzeko, kolarov, zabaleta, yaya toure, baloteli, nasri.

    But now is different.

  9. Frustrated minds. Many of the city players were not that good before coming to city. KDB was a failure. Ilkay was average, Sterling was forced out, No super stars. Stars were born in city. Harland was bought for 50 not 100 or 200.

  10. What did he say…? Liverpool won the treble…? Only Man utd have won THE treble. Stupid man.

  11. People are so jealous and envious of Man City that they will ignore the facts. Man utd and Chelsea have both spent more than city over the last decade with very little success in return to justify their ridicolous spending.

  12. It's about money. Give Ole and Pep same money, Pep dominates each time. Give Klopp and Pep same money, i guarantee City dont win 5 of the last 6

  13. Ortega free transfer.. Akanji 12m.. Lewis (academy).. Foden (academy).. Palmer (academy).. Gomez under 10m.. Alvarez 15m. 🤔😂😂

  14. City are just a better run club from top yo bottom. Arsenal have made great strides this year but need more money spent on quality back up for the squad and a better more clinical number 9. It's that simple. If there was a top player sitting on the bench who could come on for Saka he would have been rested more, simple as. The same with Saliba. Its exactly what hurt us as well last year going for top 4. Ee goy some injuries and fell apart eith our lack of quality depth. It's such a shame Pepe wasn't the player we thought we were buying for the money. Then again if he was, Saka would be the quality back up coming on off the bench to help carry us to the title. Man City are the richest most well run club in the league but Arsenal need to take heart from the fact that City didn't simply walk it to the title this year because they definitely had the quality to. Thank goodness there have been teams like Arsenal and Liverpool in recent years to really test City and make the league more interesting for football fans. It would be terrible if the Prem become like Germany, France or Scotland.

  15. There isn't a player at City we couldn't afford at United. They are run as a football club, Manchester United are run as a business club.

  16. City is showing how its done from the top to the bottom to succeed. Recruitment top notch, characters top notch, organisation top notch. Its just a top notch club, an example for every one out there. Other clubs have spend a lot of money too but their success is nowhere to be seen. A true football fan would appropriate this Club 👏

  17. Why is Melissa on this panel, she is through and through liverpool fan. She would never truly recognise City's brilliance.

  18. I've been saying this since the beginning of this accused ffp rules violation the most likely outcome is City will be found not guilty of all the financial charges and be found guilty on 2 or 3 obstruction charges for not cooperating with the FA and will receive some large fine 30 million plus I'd expect but thats nothing for City people who think they could get relegated or have titles stripped are gunna be disappointed imo

  19. Quite interesting content, I thoroughly enjoyed listening you guys explaining why Manchester City is the way they are…. Money is is a major factor but money without such an enigmatic coach moving the pieces as if you’re playing an intense game of chess all would be futile, like Chelsea, just saying. God Bless Manchester City ❤🙏🏽

  20. Financial fair play they still have cases going on because of their financial fair play so I don't know why they wouldn't league if they corrupt

  21. How is this still a serious conversation. Money alone does not create such a team. we spending and winning. others are spending and losing… that seems like a better perspective. we've even been spending less

  22. For people denying financial clout is not the reason Man City are successful, why did they never achieve anything before Abu Dhabi bought them.

Money is the reason why everything has improved for them as a club with the Abu Dhabi investment they would be a mid table club at best like they were in the past
