UNLOCK FAST TWITCH MUSCLE & INCREASE CLUBHEAD SPEED | The LEGEND Tom Watson

UNLOCK FAST TWITCH MUSCLE & INCREASE CLUBHEAD SPEED | The LEGEND Tom Watson

A Relaxed grip pressure with a proper Grip and proper pressure points is the SECRET for all golfers to gain more clubhead speed in the Golf swing. Using a light grip pressure removes all tension in your body which allows Fast twitch muscles fibers in your shoulders, arms and wrists to work properly . Fast Twitch Muscle Fibers can not fire if your big muscle fibers are tense and under too much tension. Tension robs golfers of club head speed. Think of a MLB Pitcher throwing a 98mph fast ball. His wrist must be relaxed so the wrist can bullwhip the baseball.

If you want to learn the best grip in golf…I highly recommend watching this:

How firmly do we hold onto the golf club? In Ben Hogans 5 fundamentals of golf, he talks about the last 3 fingers in the the left hand and the middle two fingers in the right hand. Those are the pressure points in your grip. I stress the same thing. The way I like to teach grip pressure is this. Simply take the club, put the club straight up in the air where its its lightest, and then let the club drop from your hands, like this then put the club back in your hand, proper grip. then reduce your grip pressure until just before it drops and then take the club and just take it to horizontal like this. you will feel an increase of grip pressure in the last three fringers in the left hand and the middle two fingers of the right hand just by doing that. Thats all the pressure you need in the golf swing. The last three fingers in the left hand are the tightest. the middle two fingers in the right hand are less tight. The thumb and forefinger ar not tight at all. I have seen lots of players from John Daily to Fred Couples even Ben Hogan used to practice with these two fingers off the golf club like this just to make sure that these three fingers and those two fingers are the pressure points in the grip. now instead of being like this like this I want to see more waggle like this. a little bit slower a little bit loose too with the hand during the swing you want to maintain that same amount of pressure in your last three fingers the left hand and the middle two fingers to the right hand you don’t want to increase the pressure at all the golf swing it will increase naturally on the downswing with his centrifical Force but it doesn’t did really tight at any time in the golfer especially the right hand you want that right hand but it when it’s in the hitting area like there to be able to be flexible and just fire through there like that compressing the ball and creating Club head speed the most relaxed pressure you can have without losing control of the club head during the swing is where you want to be with your grip pressure in your golf

  1. I just tried this… Holy smokes! The SOUND of my swoosh through impact sounds faster. I can feel the increase in clubhead speed! My club is wrapping around my neck it so fast! Needless to say I've been gripping the club waay too tightly! This is a Gem of a tip here.
