If in any other sport a player changes teams or leagues they don't use the term "defection". The media loves to use that word when talking about golfers changing leagues though. As for Rory McIlroy he has flipped his "opinion" on so many things in the past, the ryder cup, and the olympics were both things he put down and then later flipped, so I could see him going to LIV no problem.
