New York Jets are CLUELESS | 3 & Out

John Middlekauff reacts to reports that Zach Wilson is reluctant to return as the New York Jets starting quarterback after being benched. John also discusses whether Bill Belichick will reunite with Josh McDaniels at his next coaching spot, why Kyler Murray has proven enough to remain the Arizona Cardinals franchise quarterback, and the New Orleans Saints’ mistake of paying Derek Carr.

  1. Enjoying watching Nathaniel Hackett getting exposed to the average Jets fans, whereby most football fans already knew about Hackett after his debacle as HC with the Broncos. Jets are the worst of the worst organization I've seen in years….

  2. I just can’t see Kraft moving on from Bill if they can get a franchise QB. I know Bill has been awful at drafting skill position offensive players, but if they have the 1 or 2 overall pick, you gotta keep Bill. Pop got Wemby, Bill should get another shot with a franchise QB. I just can’t see Robert Kraft, not firing obviously, but forcing Bill to mutually part ways.

  3. Why didn't the jets get a quarterback in there when Rodgers went down. They did nothing and let it fall apart. Bill B. should retire. Carr, Cousins, Jimmy, Dak are not elite. No rings.

  4. I’ve said since he came in Saleh is too much of a tough guy and not enough of a smart guy to be a great HC.

  5. Belichik isn't going anywhere. Kraft just re-signed him to a huge contract. Sure you can say these billionaire owners can afford it. But it isn't about the money, Kraft re-signed Bill in the middle of this putrid season, he knew exactly what the Patriots looked like and still re-signed him to a massive multi year contract rumored to be the biggest non player contract in the NFL(the amount is rumored, the contract is real but the Pats have released the money amount).

  6. This is on Jets GM. Back up was never handled properly. But they all get to keep their jobs till next year try it again because Aaron Rodgers is coming back. If they are successful ( playoffs ) all is forgiven.

  7. Keep in mind hindsight is always 2020 because right now everybody looks like a genius but if this thing had worked out and the Jets were 10 and one would people still be talking about who the back up is?

People who blame the head coach don’t realize the fact he doesn’t have much control when it comes to the New York Jets. GM picks the players and right now all roster decisions are going to Aaron Rodgers

Rogers wanted his wide receivers. He wanted Nataniel Hackett to be his offensive coordinator and he’s the one who wanted to groom Zach Wilson so please tell me what the head coach is supposed to do here?

As a football fan, I think if there’s one thing we can all learn from this and I really hope teams and fans learn from this is it is really valuable to have a starting level back up. 10+ million backup is what is needed in todays 17 game NFL

After this weekends game it will be between 54-55 different starting QB in the NFL so far this season

  8. As a Head Coach, Belichick, without Tom Brady, is a losing fraud. "Because Tom" was the reason for all those SuperBowls & the Dynasty.
Agree with John though, as Defensive Coordinator Bill Belichick is really good … but on his own, without Brady Belichick is a losing disaster as a Head Coach

  9. this what cam newton be talking about cuz he was only referring to himself in 3rd person for the purpose of the conversation but dudes have an idea of cam as this self centered guy already so it don’t matter the context

  10. Wilson would probably be a decent quarterback with the right coach . Now there maybe a handful of coaches that are quarterback whisperes so its a bit of a lottery pick to get one . High picked guys ussually go to bad organizations . The jets are a perennial terrible organization. . They go through quarterbacks like socks

  11. Wait now you tell me the jets are clueless. WTF man where da fuck where you in 1979 to give me a freaking heads up .

  12. Finally football fans recognize that everything starts up front.
The Jets focused on defense at the expense of the O line. Even when everyone was healthy the O line was not very good.

  13. Zach’s performance correlated with the oline. He got better when they figured out the line and worse when they got to the 14th lineman. It counts as a weakness. It’s a flaw that a bad oline makes you that terrible. I am just pushing back on “he looked good for a few weeks and got bad again.”

  14. I completely disagree about bill not coming back, I can very much see him back but take him out of personnel decision unless its defense bring back McDaniels and you're on your way. I was hopeful Obrien would be an upgrade but clearly the trash play calling with bama wasn't just a college fluke

  15. It's obvious that the Patriots are tanking to get a QB. There's no way that BB is this bad. Edit: His past performance at Cleveland confirms this.

  16. Belichick is the goat. I am a Packers fan for a long, long time so it should be hard to say that. It isn’t. He hasn’t been great at buying the groceries, but any GM would be a fool not to want him.

  17. That is a depressing stat. That the Pats have held 3 opponents to 10 pts or less this season (yet still lost those 3 games)😮.
Yikes! If I was on the Pats’ defense, I’d be ticked! To have our great performance go to waste when in any other game, holding the opposition to 10 or less pts, should be plenty sufficient for the team to win 95% of their games.

  18. I feel bad for whoever get's drafted by the Cardinals, whether that's Marvin Harrison Jr. or whoever, cuz that ownership sucks and they're going be mired in mediocrity until it changes.

  19. I love this podcast bc john takes time to actually talk about various teams not just the big market ones.

  20. Its really disconcerting that all you so called experts are blaming ZW for not wanting to go back behind an offensive line that was being questioned back in summer camp, that allowed there 100 million dollar investment to be knocked out of the season after 4 plays. J.Thomas and Saleh should be fired . Seems to me ZW is smart to give the finger to the organization. No Quarterback can be effective behind that offensive line. Put the blame where it belongs. The NFL sucks anyway , all the changes have ruined the game

  21. The Jets situation has ownership fingerprints all over it. Its so bad it cant be a football personnel problem. Saleh sounds like a guy who has no real authority

  22. Panthers aren't winning lol. Rest of their schedule is teams in the hunt for a playoff spot, divisional games where the one seed is still up for grabs for all except the Panthers, and the jags who will probably need that game.
