In episode 17, we take a deep dive into anxiety and how it affects our performance. We go through what it looks like in performance and in real life, some tools you can utilize when it hits, and also how you can continue to manage it so that you can perform at your best in spite of it!
Anxiety wants you to believe the future is scary and success is unlikely. We talk about having mental flexibility which allows you to be anxious but still find a way to be successful. You must become aware of what is happening and accept that it is out of your control, but then find your stability in the storm, and then push forward.

Great stuff! Thank you.
Terrific episode Dr Bhrett thanks. Excited to get to read your new book, and learn from it, when it is published.
Doc thanks for the shout about the book. Love the name you selected. The episode was so informative. Many athletes do not understand why they feel the way they do before, during , and after competition. Thanks for being so transparent about your anxiety. You have educated us on the signs, but also give us the tools to handle anxiety. Enjoy The Open Championship.
Reframing anxiety as adrenaline and your body getting ready to perform is such a massive mindshift for me – I’ve demonised it my entirely life, and tried to get rid of it, and punished myself for having it – thank you.
Beautiful
