  1. So do the ball manufacturers no longer seek to improve distance? Then what kind of improvements can they make with the ball from here on out?

  2. With this and the ever complicated world hcp system i think its time to start re-evaluating competition golf for me,,,,,its getting like F1 to many stupud technical rules

  3. The truth is this will literally not affect 90% of golfers. Most recreational golfers don’t even play the golf balls that would not conform. There is a 30 yard difference between the left dash and the typical Amateur bought golf ball.

With that said as some one who swings 120+ that will be effected. We will find ways to still hit the ball long, and work around this to gain advantage on the field.

  4. this is fuck up man, it's gonna get appeal for sure. This only affect long PGA hitters and for what. And why does fast swinger need to be punish for being able to swing faster.

  5. So this means optimal hits only lose 3 to 5 yards for pro but for amateur golfers who hit optimal hits a few times per round we lose 30 to 50 yards?this game is hard enough at 108 swing speeds and to hit optimal shots like pros do all the time is wishful thinking.6 1/2 hour rounds coming soon for us hackers.thanks for making this game harder morons.more simulated golf for me.

  6. I'd say taking 9 yards off an amateur male golfer / LPGA golfer swinging between 95-105 MPH, is a much bigger disadvantage than taking 15 yards off someone hitting 320

  7. Might consume some cost on the ball but we might save on a round of golf beings the courses won't have to lengthen to accommodate the bomb and chop player.

  8. They have got it all wrong!
Make the setup of golf courses tighter, such that ‘bomb & gouge’ is not a viable option for players. Bring ‘skill’ back to the game

  9. I resent the fact that the USGA thinks my smashing 220 yard drive is too long and must be restricted. If the governing bodies of golf want to demoralize recreational players, they have succeeded. Since too much length is only a problem with men’s professional golf, why not require a restricted ball for elite players only! USGA/R&A are making a big mistake that will hurt recreational golf worldwide.

  10. They missed the mark!!!! Should be focusing on the DRIVER, not the ball. Case closed. Reduce the sweet spot so on a missed hit, the ball can spray all over the place, making the pros and Joe's for that matter be more precise and skilled.

  11. I don't agree with it. It's bad for golf. And as a recreational golfer it's the only rule I or most recreational golfers will ignore or break. There are millions of found and used golf balls all over the world. And there will be manufacturers that will meet the demand for future non conforming golf balls. I won't buy a rollback ball unless I'm in some scramble or local tournament that actually follows the rule. Then I'll buy a sleeve. In the future people will be finding lost rollback golfballs in the brush and woods. They will throw it back in the woods like a old top-flight. Who wants a crap golf ball that goes nowhere? Lol. The world's a screwed up place. It's like telling a man he can't wear underwear anymore only girls panties because we are not going to make underwear anymore. Nobody is going to buy these balls for recreational play. 90 percent of us don't want them.

  12. Why am i spending all this money on a longer driver when they limit my distance on a ball? It was a poor decision really.. It makes the whole industry look like a sham!

  13. Such a bs rule. I’m 63 and I’ve already lost a bunch of distance so I guarantee you I will stock up and never play their bs conforming balls.

  14. I think its easy to freak out and hate the idea. Once you play with a conforming ball and so does eveyone else it will be forgotten. Personally it would have been better if they just stop the ball right where it is.

  15. When are people going to realize, if no one complies…. IT WON'T HAPPEN. Don't do tournaments and refuse to watch anything golf on television.
