  1. I’ve tried to watch LIV multiple times and it’s unwatchable. Get that money but you become irrelevant to me accept in the majors.

  2. Frank! Great report here but I think people are missing the key piece of $300 Million over the life of the contract. So if LIV and PGA do come together then the contract would not get fully paid out. Smart move on LIV to get another high profile name. Smarter move on Rahm to get paid, spend time with his family as he knows he is exempt, and can play in those Majors.

  3. Pure greed,Hovland made 100k per day last years and good luck to him, how much money do you need, you would struggle to spend it,money has always destroyed most sports, and now golf will be no differant, shame really.

  4. if the framework agreement does not go trough PGAT is fucked — they're almost broke and anyone else have the money PIF have

  5. Sweet. So my options are watch an exhibition tour with no cut, or a diluted PGA tour where the best players are starting flee. Time to turn off the TV.

  6. I have literally never watched a LIV tournament, have no idea how any of it works, and honestly have no interest.

  7. Sergio already has an all Spanish team (fireballs). If Rham gets his own team it'll be interesting to see if it's a more European team or American. I think the US has its 5 teams(hyflyers, 4 Aces, crushers, rangegoats, smash). We'll just have to wait and see!

  8. Playing on a tour with no cut and huge amounts of guaranteed money will breed complacency. The loser is the fan as usual.

  9. The fact that Rahm is getting handed another MEGA payout tells you that many players (not the same but close to the same ability and popularity) are STILL being left out and WILL NOT get made whole – most of those players are the false high road guys that in low IQ ways regurgitate concocted narratives written by scumbags to benefit themselves (i.e Monahan)

  10. Who sets the value of a LIV team? I guess the Saudis themselves? The PGA should go the underdog route at least. At least from my part I hope Rory, JT, Hovland, Scottie win all the majors

  11. Beginning of the end for LIV. This is exactly what happened to WCW signing the Hitman. Over evaluation of talent and irrational spending. Great business decision for Rahm though. Take the money now wait for the merger in a few years. Kudos

  12. Rahm only cares about the majors, he's exempt at the US Open til 2031, Augusta for life, and the Open + PGA for the next 5 years. If more guys jump ship, the majors will probably adjust their criteria. If not, there are other avenues to join like Niemann just did in Australia for The Open since his OWGR depleted since joining LIV.

  13. Kudos to Jon Rahm if he does move to LIV !! The END is near for the PGA tour it's just a matter of time … GOLF greats like Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino and their other mates who way back then played tournaments under the PGA of America (founded in 1916) in 1960 began the process of breaking away and in 1975 the organization they created achieved full independence from the PGA of America and was named the "PGA Tour." The coming of LIV Golf is no different … Changing of the Guards !!

  14. One should ask WHY now? The Rahm deal is a shot across the bow before the 12/31 deadline. JM of the PGA is shooting blanks and hemorrhaging players (3 more in January). The PGA is not going to turn down PIF money because if the bleeding continues then the majors will change the OWGR and LIV will be feeding the majors within 5 years. The PGA will be boring with the top 3 winning everything while the fun is over in another country with a growing fan base. LIV business model allows sponsor money to invest in teams and put forth advertising money worldwide. BTW Finau, Schauffle, and Cantlay may announce in January per Mr. Shortgame. This is why the timing is important for the Rahm announcement. In a sense it is telling the PGA the inevitable. What is good for golf is not a PGA monopoly in the US. It is to grow the game worldwide. DeChambeau wants the current 100 million golfers to grow to 150 million and he believes it can happen. Go Mr. 58!

  15. Merging into a single league was a misinterpretation of the framework agreement. It doesn't actually say that. It talks about them being under an umbrella corporation etc. People also speculated that LIV would go away and have to come back into the PGA. It doesn't say that either. LIV is not going anywhere. I think when this came up last time that LIV invited Rham, and he said here's my price it was too high. Then the framework agreement was announced so I think he backed off to see what would happen. I now believe he has seen enough and is back at the table. LIV only has 48 players. With 3 per hole they still have room for a shot gun start to add another team. I think Rahm gets a new team. He loves Sergio and Sergio did just have a player leave for another team but Rham is too big to be anything but a captain.

  16. Why wouldn’t these LIV players just die on the vine…their tournaments seem irrelevant and meaningless. Unless their events gain in prominence, so too will the players be relegated to irrelevance. I suppose a few will continue to be eligible for majors.
