Welcome back to Stick To Football with Gary Neville, Ian Wright, Jill Scott and Roy Keane – the original show from The Overlap brought to you by Sky Bet.
As we reach the international break, today’s episode is all about our panels stories from playing for their country.
Listen to Roy’s tales of the Republic of Ireland squad at the 1994 World Cup and the build-up to the infamous fall out at the 2002 World Cup.
Wrighty reveals how playing for England was the best feeling he ever had, but not playing in an international tournament meant he never fulfilled his destiny.
Gary chats about the England camp that seen a pianist sell a story of a social squad gathering to the press as well the brutal reaction from Paul Gascoigne for his 1998 World Cup omission.
And with 161 England caps to her name as well as being the only person around the table to boast a major international trophy, Jill chats about England’s Women’s Euro 2021 success.
We also answer your community questions. Watch out for some classic shirts and cap Roy has on display, find out which roommate Wrighty was up playing Tomb Raider with until 4am and how a spiritual healer resulted in the end to a team-mates international career.

If England qualified in USA 94, I feel like Wright would have shined. He was definitely robbed in Euro 92. People like Nigel Clough, David Hirst, Brian Deane etc… getting picked ahead of him was crazy. Wright in the early- mid 90s was a monster. It’s criminal how he didn’t get more England caps
Wrighty skating around racial discrimination that was evidently rife in the England camp. Barnesy would have been brutally honest!
How I wish I could go back to 1992
Ian Wright is such a fantastic human. What a player he was.
A work force that drinks together work better together fact pub Friday lads 🎉
Great stuff, the best going around
wrighty i bloody love you. what a genuinely sweet and compassionate man he is. i would highly recommend listening to his desert island discs episode, tears will be shed
wtf they on about if pep is able to move players on that's not this united is it ffs? lol if eth was able to move what he wanted on and bring everyone he actually wanted in he would be able to do something with this united as well.
Brilliant camaraderie between them all wrighty is comical the way he buzzes off Roy and his personality
Roy saying "Yea you know, that's life", is what epitomized the footballers of 90s and the 00s. Such amazing characters.
I understand Roy's point of view and listen that was a different time in the 2000s but the bottom line is he was their best player and he had to go to the World Cup.
great discussion, really enjoyed that!
Brilliant show but…let's put the coffee and tea away and have a pint! The stories would be much better!
Great show
Ian Wright was a big loss to the England squad.
The poms just talk drinks
Ian Wrights England story is quite emotional, pretty heartbreaking. Shouldve been apart of those teams, and shouldve been winners.
Wrighty is such a wonderful human. It hurts to hear how unsupported he was during his playing career.
I followed the instructions but it says we can't install….first uninstall previous microsoft versions
Englands loss, not playing Wrighty more
The pianist 😂
I am always amazed that Roy STILL cannot see any wrong he did. He did glossed over what he said in that interview that was published and Mick had the newspaper article in hand.
I really hope you read this Mr Ian Wright, I absolutely loved the way you played you are the only player from an opposite that I wanted to do well imo you were right up there alongside Shearer,Owen or Fowler this coming from a Liverpool fan you were a top top player.
With the pep question. I don’t think he would.
I still blame Hoddle for Gaza’s demise. Never the same after heartbreak of being left out of 98
Strange to think deep down in Maldini's shirt collection is a Gary Neville shirt 😂
Love wrighty he was a class act Razor sharp fast instinctive finisher and not afraid to put it about what would he be worth today?
Glen Hoddle, great coach but shocking man management skills
Hoddle really was absolutely clueless with man management.
That's why Jamie Carragher isn't there? Why s wrighty there then because he only played a similar amount of England games and I don't think he went to any tournaments 😂. Just saying , I'm not dissing Wrighty bc he,s a legend and I think he,s boss YNWA 😂
